my favorites have evolved over the years, mostly by who is available for smaller companies to sign. In 2005 I loved Whippy the Clown and Joey Minnesota. Getting into 2008/10/13 I was all about the next gen guys- Keith, Gauge, Vessey, Valentine, Starr. Just off the top of my head in no particular order-

Samoan Destruction Inc

These guys would always be one of my first signings and usually my first tag champs (most of my games are starting a small company from scratch) They usually inevitably got signed by a big Japanese company, but i always wanted their names in my company's history

Magwitch

I love the crazy clown gimmick. I use him as a midcarder in hardcore promotions, but have also signed him when I play as CZCW (my fav cornellverse promotion to run) and pair him in a 3 man unit with Coulrophobia.

Mutant

What can I say, love this guy and always seems to produce for me.

The Good Ol' Boys

They are from my home state and so I always try and use them. good anchors to build my tag division around

Roger Monteiro

This guy always has a spot on my roster. Sometimes tagging with Youngblood or Running Wolf. Other times he ends up under a mask. He's often ended up as part of "The Colony" with Ant-Man in CZCW or Kanzen Pro games

1: Bob Casey. Which should come as no surprise to anybody. I'm probably the biggest Casey mask on the whole board. I doubt anybody else has pushed Bob the way I have. Typically plays the Fan's Own face for me and has lead one of the greatest wars I've had in my games.

2: Ted Brady. The other side of that war. Love Ted's curmudgeon act and having him try to destroy all the young prospects he feels don't appreciate his contribution to the style of wrestling they advance. Best crazy gimmick drop the C-Verse has ever had.

3: Ben Williams. To most he's the bump machine. To me, he's the chameleon. Ben can take the wildest, most ridiculous gimmick and make it work. Had one game in 2010 where my promotion was based out of a gay club and he was the face designed to draw the club's regulars into my shows. Not only did he reach an A rating with that shtick, he became the cornerstone of my tag scene. Never made him world champ despite starting at Upper Mid in some of my opening talent pools but who knows? Maybe one day I will. Certainly enough ways to book him that it could work

4: Valentine. Not as big on him as I used to be due to the attitude he developed in 2013. But as a micro-indy jack of all trades, the guy is hard to beat. He's easily gimmicked in a number of different directions and his material can write itself once it gets going.

5: Remmy Honeyman. Have yet to get a game with him as far as I'd like. But do I love this guy. With Bob Casey aging and likely to retire into a road agent sooner rather than later, Honeyman seems like he's poised to take Bob's place as dream jobber for the big guys and micro-indy ace. Dude really seems to have that everyman appeal that Bob does and the youth to carry it into the next decade or maybe two.

1. Lothar Prellinger

Has an incredible look, excellent in ring potential and I just love and enjoy everything about his character. What isn't there to enjoy. I always love picking him up and running with him. Usually he is in the chase or holder of the midcard title. I have never truly given him the push I want to in the main event except once due to injuries before dropping back down.

2. Swoop McCarthy

One of if not the best prospect from Australia. He is probably only decent in the ring. He has great star power and with great mic skills. Already a center piece of RAW he can establish to be a center piece of any company.

3. Flip and Bounce Buchanan

These brothers don't debut until a year or so after the game starts and they are certifiable jobbers. But I love the pair and they both ended up being mentored by Harry Allen in my game they improved greatly in the ring. Just a fun pair of jobbers to book who I had eventually capture the Tag-Team titles as a reward. Sadly losing the save after that.

4. Riley McManus

When running my first small time indy fed in the states, he was hired more to fill out the card. He turned into one of my all time favourites as after having the Major Title jump around he was able to capture it and run with it for over a year until his injury. Being on the shelf for almost twelve months he picked up an addiction to pain killers and entered rehab. After what was almost a year and a half away from the company he was able to complete his redemption story and capture the gold once more.

5. Reggie Tate

This guy is Nathan McKenzie light, and as APW is my favourite company McKenzie gets snatched up early. I love pairing him with Gerard from APW. The pair are very similar to American Alpha in my mind. The only downside can be his behaviour which makes things interesting.

Honourable Mentions

Skyscraper

Damian Dastardly

Lorenzo Oliviero

Maurice Jackson

J.T. Ace

I usually loose him right before I get to cult and it feels like that's when my enthusiasm for APW usually wanes. I haven't tried to pull him into the US.....yet.

Most of my former favorites are getting long in the tooth and retire quickly after a new game starts ("Why Bomb, WHY?!?") so I've had to find new favorites.

2. Missy Masterson

3. Electric Dreamer

4. Teresa Perez

It's why I stay away from Fuyuko Higa, Paige Croft, Lady Lotus, Steph Blake, Shiori Jippensha, Pinky, Tai, Marianne, etc and load my roster with locker room leaders and positive influences. It really does make a difference over the long run. I have two negative influences in my current locker room: Eri Sato and Toni Parissi. I can cut either of them and not miss them (and Toni's a main eventer), mainly because there's nowhere else for them to go, really. USPW is possible (especially since I poached Missy and Tiffany Jade) but USPW isn't a concern for me. Plus, I have enough talent that losing one or two or six workers isn't going to impact me very much.

Lily is one of those fringe personas who tends to benefit from an overwhelmingly positive locker room. I can't recall exactly what the issue is, but it IS possible to have someone become a negative influence despite great backstage morale. Example- in one AAA game, Good-Lookin' Bunny and Rose & Lilly are in a match. Kate Lilly botches a move to injure (or nearly so) Jessica Bunny. Both are upset about this, blaming the other, and both become negative influences temporarily, causing a drain backstage in addition to the drain their tension is already causing. That causes a snowball effect- Kate and Devil's Daughter develop enmity between shows, and then Devil's Daughter turns 5 or 6 people against Kate, including Debbie Rose, her tag partner. At no time did backstage dip below 100%, by the way.

Oh, and several of the people you've named aren't that difficult. Toni, for instance is one of the easiest people to get up from "negative influence" to not. She'll never become a positive influence, and she'll still send you negative opinions about workers, but she'll also occasionally contribute to a better backstage atmosphere.

Similarly, I'm playing a 5SSW game (as Higa, because I'm crafty) and a few months in and none of the "problem children" has caused a ruckus. The only negative influence I cut right away is Lady Liberty, because most of the other negative influences have skills to back it up. LL is a glorified jobber who costs $900 a month!
