Earlier today the Kings of Wrestling arrived at the arena and were met by Shane Douglas who asked Jeff Jarrett what happened after Impact Friday night. Jarrett said that he outsmarted Monty Brown by being the better athlete, the fitter man and said that Brown calls himself "The Alpha Male" and says he's from the Serengeti but Jarrett said he is the lion of TNA and the ring is his Serengeti. He told Brown that he failed to touch him on Impact and tonight the Kings of Wrestling come out on top yet again </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C-</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Jeff Hardy defeated Petey Williams </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>(13:32)</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> via pinfall after a Swanton Bomb </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Jeremy Borash was backstage in front of the very same door that Abyss had been locked in by Dustin Rhodes on Impact this past week. He revealed that staff had tried to free Abyss and had managed to move the obstruction but Abyss had refused to come out of the room, revealing he had been locked in that room without food, water or light now for 48-hours </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Raven defeated Diamond Dallas Page </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>(11:19)</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> via pinfall after an Evenflow DDT. Erik Watts attempted to get involved, specifically to go after Raven but DDP cut him off, prompting Watts to get in a shoving match with DDP, only to be shoved out the way by DDP when Raven attacked which allowed Raven to pick up the win </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

In response to Jeff Jarrett's comments from earlier today, the announcers threw to footage of Monty Brown arriving and being met by Shane Douglas. Brown told a different story about what happened at Impact, saying Jarrett ran like a coward, stole some kids car and drove away. Brown said that Jarrett has nowhere to run tonight </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Jeremy Borash led the camera man to try and find Dustin Rhodes, who they eventually found huddled in the boiler room, rocking back and forth. Borash asked Rhodes how he was feeling and Rhodes without lifting his head replied that it turns out that he enjoyed the darkness and that Abyss has no idea what doors he has opened up. Rhodes lifted his head to reveal he face covered with black and white paint before calmly telling Abyss that everyone thinks he is "The Monster" but maybe, just maybe they have got it all wrong </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D+</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

The new comers didn't move from the ramp, deciding instead to stand and lock eyes with Chris Harris and James Storm but their intent was clear; they want the NWA World Tag Team titles </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D-</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

It was time for the Monster's Ball match and while we had already seen Dustin Rhodes earlier tonight, Abyss had not emerged; until now. In the back, Abyss ripped the door off it's hinges and stumbled out of the room before he roared in anger, straightened himself out and stormed off towards the ring </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

</span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>Monster's Ball Match</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Abyss defeated Dustin Rhodes </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>(13:43)</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> via pinfall after a Black Hole Slam on thumbtacks </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C-</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

</div></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Dusty Rhodes ran out to check on his son Dustin who had already been beaten badly before being driven into the thumbtacks. Unbeknownst to him, Abyss wasn't finished as he walked behind Dusty, ready to strike. Dusty recognised something wasn't right and got up, only to presented with the masked face of Abyss who threw the first punch! Dusty and Abyss went toe-to-toe with Dusty bringing out the bionic elbow, but Abyss shook it off and ran right through him before delivering a Black Hole Slam to the Directory of Authority! Fortunately it was on the otherside of the ring from the thumbtacks but the damage had still been done as both father and son were left laid out in the ring </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>B-</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Christopher Daniels © defeated AJ Styles </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>(18:09)</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> via pinfall after the Angel's Wings from the second rope to retain the TNA X Division title </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>B-</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

</div></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

The fans were on their feet throughout the entire contest and showed their appreciation to both men for what will go down as one of the greatest matches in TNA history to date. As Christopher Daniels was being presented as the victor, AJ Styles forced himself up to his feet before going over to his rival and offering a handshake. Considering Daniels' actions over the past month, the action was risky but Daniels surprised everyone by respectfully accepting the handshake! The two shared a few words before Styles pulled away and headed to the back </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

With moments to go before the main event, Shane Douglas introduced the 3 Live Kru and he immediately posed the question to BG James; will he fight Kip Gunn if/when the opportunity arrived. BG said that Kip is his brother but so are Ron Killings and Konnan and said he honestly hoped that it wouldn't happen but admitted that he'd do whatever it takes to win tonight. Douglas asked about teaming with Monty Brown and Konnan said that Brown was the big dog right now and said that tonight, for one night only you've got the 4 Live Kru and warned the Kings of Wrestling to watch out with Ron Killings finishing off by saying "ain't that the truth" </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Syxx-Pac and Kip Gunn defeated Monty Brown, BG James, Konnan and Ron Killings </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>(32:41)</strong></span><span style="color:#000000;"> via pinfall when Kip Gunn pinned BG James after a Missouri Boat Ride. Despite all of his claims to the contrary over the past few weeks, Gunn showed his true colours by delivering a low blow to his "brother" BG James after the two had seemingly agreed to stay out of each others way. During the match, Monty Brown connected with the Pounce to Jarrett but he was saved at the last second by Kevin Nash who himself then felt the Pounce, knocking Nash out of the ring in the process </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C+</strong></span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

Thanks to everyone who predicted on this show. Considering where I am in my actual game, the reward for the correct predictions here is something pretty special; the booking of the ECW reunion show ECW One Night Stand.

Prediction Contest

1) Nobby_McDonald - 6

2) James The Animator - 5

3) Kijar - 4

3) Blodyxe - 4

3) ElectricX - 4

3) DGenerationMC - 4

Going forward I'll combine the predictions for two consecutive PPV's to determine the next winner and I think go with the winner gets to book one of the next WWE PPV's (or something or perhaps something different), so obviously anyone who predicts every time has an bigger advantage (oh yeah I'm hanging out the carrot man!).

</span></p><ul><li><span style="color:#000000;">After a successful Against All Odds, the Kings of Wrestling smuggly came to the ring having won their main event match thanks to some duplicity from Kip Gunn. Jeff Jarrett talked about how they proved yet again just how they are the most dominant faction in professional wrestling today. He said that Ron Killings, Konnan, BG James and especially Monty Brown don't deserve to be in the same ring as them before handing the microphone to Kip Gunn, who call his former partner James an idiot for believing everything he said. According to him, their team was a team of convenience and sure they won the titles five times together but that was all him, the same reason he won the titles three times before and twice after because HE carried all of those teams before telling BG James that he is nothing but a screw up and warned him to stay out of their way. Jarrett finished off by saying that he has beaten everyone in this company, saying nobody in TNA has given him any reason to think he should give anyone a shot at his NWA World Heavyweight title </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;"><em>America's Most Wanted defeated The Harris Twins </em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em><strong>(6:22)</strong></em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em> via pinfall when James Storm pinned Don Harris after a Death Sentence</em></span><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D+</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;">Footage was shown from after the NWA World Tag Team title match at Against All Odds where Michael Shane was blaming Kazarian for their loss and Kazarian wasn't having it and said that he's had enough of this and said the team was done, he wants to go after the X Division title "on my own". Douglas welcomed them to TNA and got straight to the point, asking them why they are back together and why they are in TNA. Palumbo answered and said both are simple; four years ago they were the hottest team in wrestling, they won the WCW Tag Team titles and were destined for the top until the WWF bought out WCW, O'Haire got injured and that was that. O'Haire said they tried some things but now they are back to finish what they started and that starts right now in TNA with the NWA World Tag Team titles. This brought out Team Canada, Bobby Roode, Eric Young and Coach Scott D'Amore who told Palumbo and O'Haire that they are the number one contenders, they have a contractual rematch that they plan to use very soon. Bobby Roode called Palumbo and O'Haire the past, they are the future before telling them to earn their spot. O'Haire said they aren't here to follow rules, they are here to make an impact, saying next week they will wrestle their first tag team match in four years before telling Team Canada that they are in their sights </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D-</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;"><em>Diamond Dallas Page and Erik Watts defeated The New York Connection </em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em><strong>(5:17)</strong></em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em> via pinfall when DDP pinned Glenn Gilberti after a Diamond Cutter</em></span><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D+</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;">After the match, Diamond Dallas Page asked for a microphone and talked about what happened at Against All Odds, pointing out that Erik Watts had recognised that Raven was full of crap and over the last few days they've sat down and talked about a few things and settled their issues. DDP then addressed Jeff Jarrett's comments from earlier tonight about running out of challengers, pointing out he's been challenging him since he got here three months ago and Jarrett has ignored him ever since, so he's challenging him again to put the title on the line against him </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>B-</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;"><em>Abyss defeated D-Ray 3000 </em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em><strong>(1:36)</strong></em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em> via pinfall after a Black Hole Slam</em></span><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D-</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;">D-Ray 3000 was pretty much dead but Abyss, hot off of leaving the Rhodes family laying at Against All Odds decided he wanted to inflict more punishment. Abyss picked D-Ray up and delivered Shock Treatment not once, not twice but three times when for the first time in months, Larry Zbyszko returned to TNA and said that he was here representing his friend the Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes, who would have been here himself were it not for Abyss at Against All Odds "and don't worry big man, Dusty will be back to speak to you soon". Abyss considered attacking but thought better of it and appeared to smile and laugh before leaving the ring. Zbyszko then announced next month's pay-per-view event would be known as Destination X and highlighted the X as being key because the main event would be for the X Division title and announced that Christopher Daniels would face the winners of two triple threat qualifiers to take place the same night; AJ Styles vs. Petey Williams vs. Elix Skipper and Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Sabin and mystery opponent to be revealed at Destination X with the winners of the two matches facing Daniels in Ultimate X! </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C-</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;"><em>Monty Brown defeated David Young </em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em><strong>(1:14)</strong></em></span><span style="color:#000000;"><em> via pinfall after the Pounce</em></span><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>D</strong></span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /><span style="color:#000000;"> </span><br /></li><li><span style="color:#000000;">Suddenly out of nowhere came Kevin Nash who attacked Monty Brown from behind while he was on the second rope, sending him crashing to the outside. A furious Nash followed Brown out of the ring and slammed his head into the steel ring post before ripping the cover off the announce table. Brown was busted open from the ring post but managed to throw a few right hands but Nash shut him down with a big knee to the gut before delivering a crushing Jacknife Powerbomb through the announce table! </span><span style="color:#000000;"><strong>C</strong></span><br /></li></ul><p></p><p><span style="color:#000000;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#000000;">

TNA Impact! - 25/02/2005

Soundstage 21, Universal Studios - Orlando, Florida: 1,400

Show Rating: B-

  • Diamond Dallas Page defeated Kevin Northcutt (4:15) via pinfall after a Diamond Cutter D

  • Jeff Jarrett walked out to interrupt Diamond Dallas Page having his arm raised by the referee and told DDP that he is a joke, "an old joke who should have stayed retired" before telling him that the idea that he thinks he is in the same league as him is an insult to him. Jarrett said that DDP still wrestling is an embaressment to TNA before turning his back on DDP and going to walk out, only for DDP to tell Jarrett to stop because he had something to say. DDP accepted that he is 48 and the oldest guy still wrestling here but then asked Jarrett what he had to lose by facing him? DDP said that if he was past it and didn't stand a chance then why not accept his challenge and face him at Destination X, so Jarrett threw him a bone and told him to prove he "still has it" by beating Syxx-Pac next week and if he does he'll get his match at Destination X C+

  • The X Division champion Christopher Daniels was with Shane Douglas and was asked about his feelings regarding the announcement of Destination X last week. Daniels said that this title is something different from anything this business had ever seen, pointing out that "light-heavyweights and cruiserweights" never headlined a pay-per-view but said that he would. Daniels reminded Douglas that he won the title in an Ultimate X match and also said he had no problem not knowing who his opponents would be, nor did he care about the "so-called mystery man" because he is the very best in the world D+

  • AJ Styles defeated Chris Candido (4:55) by disqualification when Petey Williams ran in and attacked Styles C

  • Petey Williams didn't let up his attack, taking it to one of his opponents at Destination X in the qualifier for the Ultimate X main event match and Williams culminated the attack with the breath-taking Canadian Destroyer D+

  • Shane Douglas grabbed the angry Petey Williams to try and find out why he attacked AJ Styles and Williams explained that he still hasn't gotten his one-on-one title rematch and now he has to qualify for a shot; Williams said that was a joke and he was going to beat both Styles and Elix Skipper and win back HIS title D+

  • Michael Shane and Traci stormed into the office of the Director of Authority and found Larry Zbyszko, not Dusty Rhodes sitting in the chair. That didn't stop Shane who complained about not being in contention for the Ultimate X match at Destination X. Zbyszko said that it wasn't his decision and maybe he agrees with him so next week he can face someone and if he wins he gets added to one of the triple threat qualifiers, and when Shane accepted and asked who his opponent would be, Zbyszko revealed he would face the X Division champion himself Christopher Daniels D-

  • Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire defeated Kid Kash and Lance Hoyt (6:17) via pinfall after Chuck Palumbo pinned Kid Kash following a superkick/Seanton Bomb combination C

  • Suddenly Team Canada in it's entirety ran out and attacked Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo from behind! Petey Williams, Johnny Devine, Bobby Roode and Eric Young beat down the newest team in TNA until AJ Styles ran out from the back, hopped onto the top rope and took out both Eric Young and Johnny Devine with a big crossbody. This distraction allowed Palumbo and O'Haire to regroup and fire back, sending Team Canada scurrying up the ramp as Palumbo, O'Haire and AJ Styles stood tall in the middle of the ring D-

  • Despite his absence earlier tonight, Dusty Rhodes was in the building and came to the ring before thanking Larry Zbyszko for stepping in for him last week. He then turned his attention to the incident earlier tonight between Jeff Jarrett and Diamond Dallas Page and made what they had agreed official. He then talked about what happened at Against All Odds and gave an update on his son Dustin who hasn't been medically cleared but will be back in a few weeks, but right now he's not here to talk about his son, he's here to talk about himself and therefore called out Abyss! The Monster answered the call but when he arrived, Dusty revealed a baseball bat and told Abyss he wasn't stupid but told Abyss he'll stand down if Abyss does and when he obliged Dusty said that he'd faced some of the biggest monsters in professional wrestling and seen the worst of the worst before telling Abyss that he is up there. He said he hung up his cowboy boots a few years ago but they haven't gathered dust yet and he wants to put them on one more time at Destination X; against Abyss! Dusty got serious and told Abyss that he nearly ended his sons career, forget what he did to him and he will not let it lie so he will put his boots back on one more time and he will teach Abyss the most important lesson of his career B-

  • The 3 Live Kru were with Shane Douglas who asked them about their match later tonight against Jeff Jarrett and Kevin Nash. Killings said he owes Jarrett after he was responsible for taking the NWA World Heavyweight title from him twice so tonight he's gonna be thinking about that when he steps in the ring. BG James talked about going back a long way with "the kliq" and said one day he'll address what happened at Against All Odds with Kip Gunn but not tonight because tonight he and "The Truth" are go out and do the business C+

  • Jeff Jarrett and Kevin Nash defeated BG James and Ron Killings (8:30) via pinfall when Kevin Nash pinned BG James after a Jacknife Powerbomb following interference from Kip Gunn. Gunn's interference came after Syxx-Pac distracted the referee, allowing Gunn to deliver a Fameasser to James B-

  • Konnan attempted to assist his teammates but to no avail as the four members of the Kings of Wrestling took apart Ron Killings and Konnan, culminating in Kevin Nash delivering a Jacknife Powerbomb to Ron Killings and Jeff Jarrett a Stroke to Konnan. The four men raised each others hands as Diamond Dallas Page walked out to close the show C
