How long can you play beta release

<p>What would the rationale be for keeping the beta length (in game months) so short, other than that you don't want people to just play the beta over and over and over and over without buying the game? Which, I would say, that those people probably wouldn't buy the game anyway... </p><p> </p><p>

I think having a longer beta would allow people to really get into the game-- taking it a little bit more seriously, having more fun, and leading to longer games-- allowing people to find errors in long term simulation and suggest changes or report more bugs.</p>

Patches and hotfixes for GDS games come so regular that it wouldn't even matter if they released the game now, they're always bang on the case for any bugs/errors. Having only a few months on the beta not only stops people abusing it and not paying for the game, but it means any painfully obvious flaws can be fixed immediately.</p>
