What's going on in YOUR game?

Recommended Posts

I’m looking to post for this 2000 mod game I did with UFC. A lot of crazy events have taken place. Amongst things, Wanderlei Silva is the best fighter in the world. And he’s coming off a 18 month suspension for hitting Overeem excessively after he was out. I have never seen that happen! I want to detail this more soon but for now I can tell you the current champs as of January 2004.

Heavyweight: Mirko Cro Cop

Light heavyweight: Wanderlei Silva (Chuck Liddell is the Interim during the suspension)

Middleweight: Anderson Silva

Welterweight: Hayato Sakurai

Lightweight: Yves Edward

I have officially made it to July 2023 of my UFC game, the longest real world game I think I have done before. Will just give an update on my different divisions:

Heavyweight: My Heavyweight champion is currently Tai Tuivasa who just recently beat Derrick Lewis for the title. Lewis was on his second title run after beating Jon Jones to get the title back again. Jones has won again since losing the title and is getting another shot at the title against Tuivasa next. Francis Ngannou was off for a year because of a sex scandal :-0, but is back now and will soon be fighting for the title again, he was the champion prior to Jones beating him. Ciryl Gane, Ruslan Magomedov and Juan Adams are all guys on the brink of breaking through to that top tier.

Light Heavyweight: The title here changed hands every time there was a match from Oezdemir to Shogun to Cutelaba, now Domenick Reyes has won the title and seems to have a firm grip defending three times now and turning into a big star for me. Problem is finding contenders for him which are few and far between right now. Corey Anderson and Ion Cutelaba were my next in line guys, but both lost in upsets. I may need to go to Cory Hendricks for the next title shot as he is 5 – 1 in his last six fights and beat Cutelaba. The other option is Thiago Santos, though he has a fight booked and Reyes is healthy and waiting for a fight so Santos may have to wait. Ryan Spann is probably the second best light heavyweight I have, but he just lost his first title shot to Reyes.

Middleweight: The champ is currently Israel Adesanya. Paulo Costa had a pretty good run with the title after beat Adesanya in 2020, but eventually lost to Rafael Lovato Jr. who lost his first defense to Adesanya. Since then Adesanya has beaten Costa in a rematch and Robert Whittaker who was on quite a run. Chris Weidman is on a run so he may be next in line for a title shot though he has no chance of winning. Kelvin Gastelum was also on a run but popped for PED’s ironically. I have some young guys on the brink like Brendan Allen and Edmen Shahbazyan as well as some new signings, particularly Georgy Kichigin from Russia who seems to be quite a killer in this game and Kyle Dauskas who has already racked up two quick finishes.

Welterweight: Current champion of this division is Randy Brown who has turned into a real monster. Brown won the title off of Warlley Alves who won a big upset against Robbie Lawler after Lawler took the belt from Usman. Brown has defended the title against Lawler and Santiago Ponzinibbio so far, both super lopsided wins for Brown. He’s now set to face off with Usman while I try and build up more contenders in what has become a division with good prospects, but not many star powered guys. Michel Pereira will hopefully win his fifth fight in a row on the Brown/Usman card to earn his own title shot.

Super Lightweight: The division was started roughly a year and a half ago and Vicente Luque won the title against Justin Gaethje, and has defended twice against Kevin Lee and Michael Chandler. He’s now got a fight lined up with Albert Tumenov and waiting in the wings after that is Khabib who was slumping for a while, but has won three straight in this division now and just won a rematch with Gaethje. Nate Diaz just joined the division and won his first match with Michael Chiesa and I’m hoping I can get him another win soon to push him into a title fight. Building up guys like Jalin Turner, Devonte Smith, Marc Diakiese and Christian Lee who have all been really good, but not quite title contender level yet.

Lightweight: The title has bounced around here a lot too going Khabib-Gathje-Conor-Gillespie-Cerrone-Conor and now Renato Carneiro has beaten Conor to take the title. Conor is the only one to successfully defend the title since I started. Gregor Gillespie is likely to get the next crack at the title just because he’s on a three fight win streak and there aren’t other great options because they all keeping beating each other so no one gets a good win streak going. There are some good prospects I’ve grabbed from Europe, mainly Russia, who are pushing to get into the mix which will be nice. I’ve also moved Alex Volkanovski up a weight class to try and rejuvenate his career.

Featherweight: Current champion is A.J. McKee in another division that has seen the title bounce around a lot. The title lineage has been Volkanovski-Kattar-Bektic-Zabit-McKee. We’ve now seen McKee defend his title against Mirsad Bektic and Yair Rodriguez successfully in pretty dominant fashion. Max Holloway has just come back from a really long hiatus and pulled off a massive upset beating Zabit on a card that we ran in Hawaii. Holloway is coaching TUF right now with Yair and then they’ll fight with Max getting a shot with a win. Meanwhile Shane Burgos is on a great run, Yusuf Raisov is emerging as a force and Pitbull is lurking. Jose Aldo has also just asked to move up to Featherweight again after a missed weight cut.

Bantamweight: This is my favorite division right now. Currently T.J. Dillashaw is the champion for the second time since I started this game, beating Jose Aldo for a title that Petr Yan vacated by taking an unexpected hiatus. Dillashaw is now going to face Garbrandt in what might be my biggest PPV sales card ever because they’re two of my most biggest draws by far. I also have Sean O’Malley and Marlon Moraes going head to head to be number on contender, Ray Borg has rejuvenated his career at BW and been a monster. Brett Johns and Thomas Almeida are also two guys a win or two away from a title shot and I just brought back Sergio Pettis and Demetrius Johnson who are both main event draws for me. I also have a lot of fun guys about to break into the top 5 like Movsar Evloev, Rustam Kerimov, and Raufeon Stots.

Flyweight: My longest reigning champion in the game has been Joseph Benavidez who just lost the title on his seventh defense of it against Manel Kape. Benavidez retired after the match as well. It’s been very disappointing how bad Figuerido is in this game. I have a lot of contenders such as Jarred Brooks, Alex Perez, Brandon Royval, Jose Torres and Kai-Kara France. The number one contender though is Naoki Inoue who is undefeated since coming back to the UFC. Brooks or Royval are probably next in line for the winner of that, but I can see Kape keeping the title for a while.

Women’s Featherweight: I normally scrap this division cause it’s so hard to find contenders, but I’ve kept it going this time. Amanda Nunes is still champ and is running out of contenders who she hasn’t beaten at least once. Zarah Dos Santos was the most recent victim to take the L against Nunes. Her next fight will likely be a rematch with Ketlen Vieira or a match with Leah Letson if she can win her next fight. The only real threats I can see are Vieira or Macy Chiasson who did recently almost beat Nunes. I’m doing a TUF show with women’s featherweights now to try and get more fighters in the division, but I had to pull from other divisions to make a cast.

Women’s Bantamweight: Aspen Ladd beat Nunes for the title, but then suffered an injury that put her out for a year training for her next fight. Sarah Moras became the interim champion somehow, though promptly lost it to Valentina Shevchenko who had moved up after losing the Flyweight belt. Shevchenko won a couple fights waiting for Ladd, but ended up losing the title unification bout against Ladd. Liana Jouja has earned the next shot surprisingly and Sabina Mazo is waiting in the wings with a 7 – 1 record in the UFC. Ultimately we’re just biding time until Ladd rematches either Nunes or Shevchenko though which will be a massive either way.

Women’s Flyweight: Montana De La Rosa is taking this division by storm. De La Rosa best Shevchenko for the title, beat her in an immediate rematch and since then has taken out Maycee Barber and Joanna Jedrzecjzyk. De La Rosa is now set to face off with Gillian Robertson as De La Rosa is the only one to beat her in the last three years and Robertson currently is on a five fight win streak. Ultimately it feels like Barber is on a collision course to get another shot and the first De La Rosa vs. Barber match was a fight of the year candidate. Ariane Lipski and Mackenzie Dern are both hovering around title contention and Claudia Gadelha also just moved up a class.

Women’s Strawweight: Rose Namajunas owned this division for three years, winning the title and defending it six times before just recently losing her belt in a shocking upset to Livia Renata Souza. The first title defense for Souza will be against Jessica Andrade who 18 months ago seemed to be shot, but has now reeled three big wins in a row over quality competition. Namajunas is out for about six months right now opening the door for other top contenders Istela Nunes and Paige Van Zant to step up. Other recent signees in Herica Tiburcio, Karine Silva and Svetlana Gotsyk are all making waves as well now.

(Rd 4 - 02:38) They engage in the center.

(Rd 4 - 02:38) Pratoomwong slips past a right hook and counters with a jab and a low kick that can't connect.

(Rd 5 - 00:52) Official Result: Stef Lomb defeats Datsakorn 'Lefty' Pratoomwong (Submission (North South Choke) in 4:08 of round 5). The fight was rated as being Great.

Stef Lomb is the dumbest person I've ever seen. This man had an absolute war for five rounds and then held onto the choke for too long which meant that he got an eighteen month suspension from the commission. And I had to strip him of the title because he obviously can't defend the title while he's suspended.

This is worse then the multiple champion drug test failures I've had in my save. I can't handle how dumb this man is.

I like the game a lot but...

For some reason none of the companies are going bankrupt, 8 years in already and it is killing me. I just got to high level international and it has become so difficult to stuff my card with very good matches. I got a - rating on one of my events because I booked the show in Scotland which indeed have a 65% lucrative rating so I was like hey why not. I just want an org to fail so to feel the satisfaction of having a child company. I'm not sure if the economy shifts really do anything to the companies. I even added 5 new companies to up the chances of failure, no one is in the negative which is even unrealistic in this world we live in.

But Seriously

I even created a new save and have already had new orgs come in without any failing at all. It is so unrealistic to the point where I'm not sure what is wrong with the game. There were even times in the demo where orgs failed but in the payed version it has not happened once yet and it is tiring. I don't want to keep simulating days and days being hesitant on skipping weeks because I'm afraid another company would take over. I'm just not getting it.

Aside from the little complaints the game is going great. I started as GAMMA but became Bushido! MMA after 20 something events, Osmosis Benn is the best fighter in the world at 32-3. Benn has been unstoppable in this save, he's pushing his limits so far I'm starting to wonder if he's going to use his ambition to get into the physical world. Kiyomori Sanda is 18-0 and the #1 SHW, Fyodor is still good and I got him to open up a gym, Sukarno is failing. A rival company has -50k and still refuses to give it up. Datsakorn Pratoomwong is the most exciting fighter but just lost the title to the other most streaky fighter Lars-Gunnar Eckberg, who now holds the heavyweight title, Datsakorn moved up his weightclass just to take that fight.

There's a lot more going on in the universe, if you'd like to keep this thread going lets go!

I began a BCF game and I am one year in, the most interesting things in my company are:

* Tikhon Diev submitting McFadden for the Light Heavyweight title and making his first defence against Soldo, making them both tap out, now he is booked against a returning Kitson in a fight where one BCF Undefeated Streak will die.

* Vikram Sithalyan submitted David Webb to become Welterweight champion, and its set to make his first defence against Huang, probably will face Webb in a 5 match in their series if he can beat his Martin Cupples in a title eliminator.

* Ram Phookan was suspended one year after his first match due to recreational drugs after he had beat Hans-Peter Schneider but it was overturned to a no contest, he is set to make his return against Charlie Oakley and if he pops again for drugs I am releasing him.

* Fritz Phipps is set to face Carter Potter, after winning a mini title eliminator tournament defeating Mark Bicknell in the first round, and winning an Upset against Stafford Alois in the final round, I will admit this derailed my plans as I had planned that title eliminator to set up Alois vs Potter, as I felt I couldnt give Alois a shot as his last to fights were loses against Potter and Lennon, but thats the fun thing about MMA, you can plan for one result, but not always will you get what you want, so I simply roll with what the game gives me.

* Rob Baines is dominating the Middleweight division and I am perfectly OK with it, the problem is, it seems he is nearing retirement, he tells me he has 3 or 4 fights left, maybe even less, as he told me that before his first fight and he has fought twice but still says the same, I would love to have him Superfight with a Light Heavyweight before he retires, but I dont know if its a good Idea

* Mick Curran retired after losing to Eddie Whelan, and Perry Barr retired with a Win after defeating Perry Potenkin.

* Have managed to face off with GAMMA and ALPHA 1 in contract offers, I have won some they have won others, but Im glad Im still making money even with some of the contracts I won from them being a little high.

* TOP openned in Russia and their roster practically is half SIGMA fighters and half KDM fighters so its a fight to see when they can book certain fighters, GAMMA has been raiding XCC Lightweight Division, signing always their champion, and even signing the competitors of a scheduled Title fight for the vacant title, always having to strip the title afterwards, they even hired their Featherweight Champion a few days in game ago, I assume also for the lightweight division, as they havent created a featherweight one.

* I have Balanced the Idea of creating a Womens Division, but I still havent done it, I did it in a previous save after Alpha created a featherweight division, but in this save I dont know when the right moment would be.

And about the woman's division, it's a great idea because they don't demand so much money. It will take a little while to develop them but the time will come, I got a girl who's high level national now, she's a real killer.

Two years into the October MW mod, here are my title histories and notes

HW: Stipe Miocic lost to Francis Ngannou the November NYC show. Ngannou defended his title against Curtis Blaydes before losing to Jon Jones at International Fight Week. Jones defended against Stipe before losing against Sergei Pavlovich. Sergei will defend against either Jones or Ngannou; depends on if I do an Adesanya vs. Jones super fight.

Current contenders are winners of Tuivasa vs. Stipe, Blaydes vs. Volkov, Harris vs. Greene, and Zoumanna Cisse.

LHW: Jan Blachowicz lost to Thiago Santos. Santos defended against Dominick Reyes before losing to Jiri Prochazka. Jiri will fight Vadim Nemkov. Next contender is either probably Nikita Krylov or maybe Izzy.

MW: Israel Adesanya has beaten Jared Cannoneir, Robert Whittaker, Kevin Holland, and Paulo Costa for a second time. Whittaker is probably the top contender, but I'm not sure abut doing a third fight just yet. May also move him up to LHW for either a title shot or just to challenge someone ala Anderson Silva

Current Contenders are Kevin Holland, Luke Rockhold, and maybe Darren Till if he extends his win streak to three after 4 losses if he beats Jotko. Kelvin Gastelum won two key fights, but tested positive after both, screwing me over big time.

WW: Usman has beaten Burns, Edwards, Covington and Alex Oliveira. His next fight is Vicente Luque. Top contenders are Ben Askren and Khaos Williams.

LW: Khabib lost to Gaethje, who lost to McGregor. McGregor defended against Khabib, Chandler, and Oliveira before losing the tittle back to Khabib in their trilogy fight. Kevin Lee is next in line.

Other top contenders are the winner of Ferguson vs. Oliveira, winner of Alexander Hernandez vs. Mac Diakase, Michael Chandler if he beats Eddie Alvarez, and Islam Makhachev if he can win one more fight.

FW: Volkanovski lost to Zabit, who defended against Chan Sung Jung before losing to Yair Rodriquez. Yair beat Max Holloway and will face Volkanovski. Top contenders are Sodiq Yusuff and Edson Barboza, with Andre Fili, Mirsad Bektic, and Calvin Kattar each needing another win or two.

BW: Yan lost to Sterling, who lost to Dillashaw. TJ fefended against Cejudo before getting injured for a year. Cruz beat Yan for the interim title and was scheduled to fight Marlon Moraes, but Cruz got injured for a year. Tj Dilllashaw will face the winner of Marlon Moraes and Yadong Song for the vacant title.

Sean O'malley will fight Ricky Simon for the next shot. Cody Garbrandt was a win or two away after beating Cejudo, but was suspended for not stopping after he tko'ed Cejudo.

FLW: Figgy lost to Alex Perez, who lost to a returning Demetrious Johnson. DJ defended against Askar Askarov and Matt Schnell before losing to Jimmy Flick. Flick will defend against Tagir Ulenbektov while Johnson and Perez have a rematch for the next title shot.

WFW: Nunes defeated Megan Anderson in the last Womens Featherweight title fight.

WBW: Nunes beat Juliana Pena before losing to Aspen Ladd. Nunes is getting an immediate rematch. Ronda Rousey returned and beat Holly Holm. She'll fight Juliana Pena for the Number 1 contendership.

WFLW: Valentina beat Jennifer Maia before losing to Cynthia Calvillo. Calvillo defended against Jessica Andrade then lost to Montana de la Rosa. De la Rosa defended against Sabina Mazo and will now fight Katlyn Chookagian.

WSW: Zhang beat Tatiana Suarez, then lost to Claudia Gadhela. Gadhela lost to Namajunas. Namajunas lost to Amanda Ribas. Ribas next defense is against Zhang.

LiveWire, you scoundrel...

Not sure whether it's worth reporting as a bug, but it should be one. It seems very rare someone splits up twice. Seems the second split-up isn't being created if there's an active one.

On the same topic: has anyone ever witnessed a "MMA" wedding? You can turn up the ratio to the maximum in the era settings, but after a... lot of hours, I've never seen one happen. I must admit I've never actively paid attention to those relationships as they're practically useless, but it would be nice to know.

BCF, early 2003 so just over a year in.

Carter Potter is heavyweight champion, has been pretty dominant against Fritz Phipps & Mark Bicknell, but has his toughest test coming up against Aleksander Ivanov. Ozzy Bintley & Morgan Wakarewarewa are rising the ranks fast.

Tikhon Diev is on a tear at LHW, dominating McFadden to win the belt then smashing McSweegan (who got the shot after a shock win over Niko Soldo) He’s got Kirby next which he should win, but has Valentin Taneyev & a rebounded Niko Soldo to contend with soon. Interesting times.

Rob Baines is dominating middleweight. First round submission finishes of Henning Olsen, Ginger Beaumont & Ram Phookan have set him apart from the rest of the division. Charlie Oakley is up next, in what will probably be another first round submission. American’s Bill Brown & Wes Hersch are looking like future threats.

David Webb is still champ at Welterweight, although only just. After beating Steve Griffin & Mills Mullally fairly comfortably he got past Vikram Sithalayan on a split decision, in what has to be considered a robbery. (Commentary gave Sithalayan 4 rounds) up next for Webb is the winner of a title eliminator between Evgeni Medtner & Martin Cupples.

Luis Basora is the newly crowned Lightweight Champ, getting a first round RNC win over Doug Hansen. Up next for Basora is Rupert Lennox, with Georges Nouri & Tim Oldacres also in title contention. Former champ Hansen is looking to get back on track against Patrik Pederson.
