Minor quibbles thread

Recommended Posts

Of course the new layout will take some getting used to, as always. But after some initial misgivings, I'm starting to like the presentation more and more as I play around with it. As much as I loved the style of WMMA3, I think this new version is best yet, (without considering all the added features).

That being said, I do have a few little issues I'd like to mention, as they're probably going to grate on me over time.

1 - It's so easy to click the 'start new game' icon instead of the 'load game' icon, and this automatically goes through the setting up process without being able to stop it. I've accidentally done this three times already, and I know I'll inevitably do it again without thinking. Is there a way some sort of extra confirmation/check could be added, to stop this before it starts? Or am I the only one who is stupid enough to keep doing this?

2 - In a similar vein, it's so easy to double-click on a profile and end up wiping off a character picture due to the auto-edit picture feature. Again, for an action that is so significant (and rarely used), wouldn't it be better to have a small 'edit portrait' button instead of it automatically going straight into the editor whenever you click on the picture? This is a mistake I've also made twice so far, but I even suspected it might be an issue when I first read about the change in the developer's journal.

Anyway, that's all I have for now. Does anyone else have any 'quality of life' issues they'd like to point out? I was thinking it might be better to keep them all in one thread (if they are only minor personal peeves).

The placement of this button makes sense, but for WMMA veterans like you and me the load button has always been the second from the top. Now it's not always like that and you go on autopilot and press it without thinking, and you lose time. I'm thinking of making quick button replacements with a letter "L" and "N" so you know it's Load and New respectively.</p>
