WWE: 205 Live (March 20, 2018)

PqpqzAo.png

WWE 205 Live: March 20, 2018 in Dallas, Texas

With WrestleMania right around the corner, the final match in the second round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament pits Japan’s Hideo Itami against England’s Gentleman Jack Gallagher in a match between two of the hardest strikers on 205 Live. Who will advance to next week’s semi-finals? And who will see their WrestleMania dreams be cut to an abrupt end here in Dallas?

Mark Andrews def. Raul Mendoza

While they both made a great first impression upon joining the 205 Live roster in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, both Mark Andrews and Raul Mendoza failed to make it to WrestleMania. Alas, that did not stop them from flying into the purple brand tonight in Dallas in spectacular fashion. Both competitors fought valiantly, flying high and low around the squared circle all while capturing the appreciation from the WWE Universe. Only one competitor could walk out victorious, however, and the better man tonight was Mark Andrews - who finished The Mexican Terminator with a death-defying Shooting Star Press for the one-two-three.

With their semi-final match in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament set to take place next week, both Cedric Alexander and Kalisto sat down for a media conference with members of the sports entertainment media for a question period moderated by 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick. One of the most important questions asked to both men was what exactly going to WrestleMania and becoming WWE Cruiserweight Champion would mean to them and their careers.

Cedric Alexander is ready to go to his first WrestleMania and he is chomping at the bit to prove his doubters wrong. For Cedric, competing on the Grandest Stage of Them All is a chance to show the other organizations he has wrestled for that he is more than a young hungry competitor. And while he fights with Honor, he can push himself to the next level and not play second fiddle to the supposed “better” athletes on the roster. Cedric Alexander has worked too hard to get to this spot only to fall short. This is the Age of Alexander.

For Kalisto though, competing at WrestleMania and winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament is a chance at redemption. Kalisto has competed at WrestleMania in the past and wants to feel that rush once again from the WWE Universe at the Showcase of the Immortals. As a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and WWE United States Champion, Kalisto knows the pressure that comes with being a champion and will use that drive that led him to gold before once more to walk out of WrestleMania the face of 205 Live. This is Kalisto’s time to shine once more in the spotlight of the Cruiserweight division.

Who walks out of this highly anticipated semi-final match next week with a guaranteed ticket to WrestleMania? Will we finally be one step closer to seeing Cedric Alexander complete his destiny? Or will the more experienced Kalisto get to taste the Grandest Stage of Them All one more time?

Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado def. Local Competitors

The lucha house party was in full effect, as The Golden Lynx and Gran Metalik displayed their incredible ability against the two Dallas competitors. Metalik and Dorado used their jaw-dropping speed to their advantage. Despite a brief offensive advantage from their opponents, the combination of uncanny agility and the lucha brotherhood proved to be too much, as the lucha sensations flattened their opponents on the outside before Dorado executed the breathtaking Shooting Star Press for the win.

Ahead of his semi-final match next week in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament against the winner of tonight’s Hideo Itami versus Gentleman Jack Gallagher match, Mustafa Ali took to the mean streets of Dallas to deliver a message to the WWE Universe. Ali feels that he has been an underdog his entire life - always being given the short end of the stick because of his heritage.

But now he feels like that discontent others had given him in the past has gone away because the WWE Universe accepts him for who he is. They inspire him to do his absolute best every time he steps out from behind the curtain. With that, he knows how vicious both Hideo Itami and Gentleman Jack Gallagher can be - and he accepts any challenge in his way.

Mustafa Ali has one promise for every member of the WWE Universe: he will go on to WrestleMania and become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Hideo Itami def. Gentleman Jack Gallagher

Two of the most vicious hard-hitting competitors in the 205 Live Cruiserweight division duked it out in an all-out five-star match with the goal of advancing to the semi-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Itami and Gallagher countered each other’s signature moves from the opening bell, proving to have studied the other in this high-stakes matchup.

Itami charged forward and laid out his nemesis with a devastating kick. Seeking retribution for Gallagher’s brutal attack with a steel pipe, Itami channeled his anger into precise and powerful strikes that kept the British Superstar on defense. Desperate for a break while outside the ring, Gallagher crawled underneath the ring to emerge on the other side and launch a sneak-attack on his opponent.

The unorthodox strategy paid off, and Gallagher began to rely on his unique technical ability to take control of the match. Gallagher continued to manipulate his opponent’s limbs to maximize punishment, but the resilience of Itami reigned supreme, and he battled back, regaining momentum.

Catching a second wind, Itami battled back with relentless fury, taking down Gallagher with a powerful strike to the jaw. Firmly in control of the contest, the Japanese Superstar executed a jaw-breaking Go 2 Sleep to secure the win.

With Hideo Itami securing his spot in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, next week’s huge semi-final matches were now set in stone: Cedric Alexander takes on Kalisto and Hideo Itami will do battle with Mustafa Ali. Who will emerge victorious next week and guarantee themselves an express ticket to WrestleMania?

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Will The Undertaker return to Raw to address his WrestleMania opponent, Braun Strowman?</div>

The Deadman made a surprising return to Raw this past week to confront The Monster Among Men and issue a silent challenge to a match on The Grandest Stage of Them All. When Braun Strowman tried to retaliate with violence, he found himself sent over the ropes and down to the floor by The Phenom and sent into retreat. Will The Undertaker once again surface on Raw to address his upcoming WrestleMania return against the man who put his brother, Kane on the shelf?

<hr>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">What condition will Shinsuke Nakamura be in following his brutal beating at the hands of Brock Lesnar?</div>

As The King of Strong Styles looked to build some momentum heading into The Show of Shows, his Universal Championship adversary made an unannounced appearance and brutally assaulted the number one contender, leaving him in a heap as medical personnel rushed to the scene to tend to the fallen superstar. What kind of condition will Shinsuke Nakamura be in come WrestleMania, and will he even be able to make it to The Grandest Stage of Them All?

<hr>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">John Cena and Finn Bálor join forces to take on The Miz and Samoa Joe</div>

<img src="https://i.imgur.com/untLP9w.png">

After last week's intervention by Stephanie McMahon, these four men ended up swapping opponents ahead of their respective WrestleMania bouts. But with Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle returning to power this week, he exclusively revealed to WWE.com that John Cena and Finn Bálor will unite to form a super-team to take on their respective rivals, Samoa Joe and the Intercontinental Champion, The Miz in tag team action. Which team will walk out victorious on Raw with The Show of Shows only two weeks away?

<hr>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Can Sasha Banks end the streak of Asuka two weeks before the Raw Women's Championship Fatal 4-Way Match at WrestleMania?</div>

<img src="https://i.imgur.com/ys1vJUc.png">

Once again thanks to Stephanie McMahon, the Raw Women's Championship picture was turned on its head when Asuka's one-on-one opportunity was transformed into a Fatal 4-Way bout in New Orleans. As a result, The Boss' title reign just became even more at risk having to defend against three superstars rather than one. This week, Sasha Banks has the opportunity to break Asuka's winning streak as she takes her on in a non-title bout in Ohio. Can The Boss do the seemingly impossible and stop Asuka's dominance?

<hr>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">How will Kurt Angle respond to Stephanie McMahon's changes to Raw last week?</div>

Stephanie McMahon "kindly" gave Kurt Angle the night off last week, and made her own mark on Raw by changing several parts of the show, including ones that had huge WrestleMania implications, claiming to have cleaned up Angle's mess. The Raw General Manager returns this week to take back control - what will he have to say when he returns to the position of power? And will "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey join him in returning to the red brand as their tag team clash with The Authority at WrestleMania looms on the horizon?

<hr>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Who else will join the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal?</div>

As WrestleMania draws closer, the list of participants for the prestigious André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is growing. Who else will join the fray in an attempt to capture the golden trophy and make their mark in the WrestleMania history books?

WWE: NXT (March 21st, 2018)

rfI2NwJ.png

WWE NXT: March 21, 2018 in Orlando, Florida

As the party known as WrestleMania Week, coming to you live from New Orleans, quickly approaches - the NXT saints go marching in tonight at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida for another exciting week of action. Last week, two huge matches were announced for NXT TakeOver: New Orleans for both the NXT Championship and the NXT Women’s Championship. Tonight, NXT General Manager has promised exciting news for the NXT Tag Team Championship match for that fateful Saturday in New Orleans. All that and much more tonight on NXT!

SAnitY def. Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli

SAnitY has been going back and forth with The Undisputed ERA for the past few weeks, with SAnitY seemingly coming out on top at every turn. Tonight, however, saw Alexander Wolfe and Eric Young facing off against the cocky ego-fuelled rich duo of Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss. Moss and Tino were ready to make a claim for the top of the tag team division by defeating the former NXT Tag Team Champions - but they were not prepared for the biggest competition for the night when Killian Dain forced his way into the match after Eric Young willingly gave up his spot.

Killian Dain was still pissed off after losing his singles match against Aleister Black last week in a pseudo Number One Contenders Match. While Aleister Black is heading to NXT TakeOver: New Orleans to face NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas, Killian Dain is still looking for his way to NOLA.

Dain and Wolfe took the fight directly to Moss and Sabbatelli, beating them senseless in the ring. Wolfe allowed Dain to control most of the contest, beating the cocky Sabbatelli from pillar to post with no regard for safety. With Young shouting directions from ringside, Wolfe took out Moss at ringside while Dain put Tino down with the Ulster Plantation.

SAnitY stands tall once more with another display of pure destruction within the ranks of the NXT Tag Team division. Will SAnitY be included in NXT General Manager William Regal’s tag team plans tonight?

Ever since the announcement of the “I Quit” Match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, The Sicilian Psychopath has been unusually silent on NXT television and on social media. That all changes tonight when Ciampa agreed to do a sit-down interview, from an undisclosed location in order to prevent any mischief from his former best friend, with Cathy Kelley.

Ever the journalist, Kelley tried to pry some answers from Ciampa as to why he has decided to now return and pride himself as a nightmare for Johnny Wrestling, but Tommaso was having none of it. He did nothing but glare when pressed for comment. That is until Kelley brought up Johnny Gargano’s self-made stipulation for the match in New Orleans: where he’d leave NXT should he lose.

Something seemed to have snapped inside the deep dark corners of Ciampa’s brain with this particular portion of the interview - as he seemed happy to talk about a potential last bow from his former best friend. Ciampa, in few words, stated that he will end Johnny Gargano and that he will prove once and for all that HE is the better half of #DIY.

In one ominous exit statement, Ciampa had choice words for the WWE Universe: be prepared to say goodbye to Johnny Wrestling - because Gargano wouldn’t just be leaving NXT, he’ll be forced to retire from professional wrestling.

No Way Jose def. Jeet Rama

The conga party returned to Full Sail University when No Way Jose walked in and out of the ring with a victory in mind. While Jeet Rama did try his best against the fun-loving force to be reckoned with, Jose’s party punches were just too much. Jose put an exclamation point on the contest with the Fastball Punch to dance his way to another W.

Ricochet is coming to NXT TakeOver: New Orleans graphic.

With Peyton Royce officially being crowned the Number One Contender for her NXT Women’s Championship, Ember Moon had a few words ahead of their big championship match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, live April 7th at 8/7 CT on the WWE Network! Moon is ready for the challenge from The Iconic One and is never one to back down from a fight. Last week, Peyton Royce proved that she is among the top of the NXT Women’s division but she is not at the level of Ember Moon.

After tough loss followed by tough loss to Asuka last year, Moon has finally achieved that next level that was missing from her repertoire and will bring it all against Peyton. Royce better bring her A game in just a few weeks in New Orleans, because Ember Moon promises another successful title defence the night before WrestleMania.

WWE U.K. Champion Pete Dunne def. Danny Burch

After an impromptu challenge on Twitter earlier today, the WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne put his championship on the line against fellow countryman Danny Burch in a hard-hitting affair.

Burch and Dunne unleashed their own brand of violence known as British Strong Style, as the sounds of hard chops and hits echoed throughout Full Sail Live. Burch gave it his all against his fellow WWE UK Championship Tournament competitor, but Dunne showed why he is the champion come the end of the bout. After ducking a big Stan Hansen-esque lariat, Dunne planted Burch to the mat with the Bitter End to signal the bitter end for this WWE UK Championship match.

The celebration for another successful title defence for Pete Dunne was cut short with the sudden appearance from a smirking Velveteen Dream, who took his time to enter the squared circle to come face to face with the WWE UK Champion. Dream came in peace against Dunne, but the Velveteen experience had a problem with the individual who co-won the NXT Year-End Award for Match of the Year with the WWE U.K. Champion: Tyler Bate.

Dream’s message was clear: a loser like Tyler Bate winning a Year-End Award diminishes the value of winners like Velveteen Dream. The challenge was laid down: The Vainglorious One wants the first-ever U.K. Champion to prove his worth against the award-winning Velveteen Dream. One question remains, will Tyler Bate accept the challenge from the Velveteen Dream?

Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Roderick Strong next week graphic.

Johnny Gargano def. NXT Tag Team Champion Kyle O’Reilly

A huge main event tonight as Johnny Gargano prepared for his huge “I Quit” Match with Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. Kyle O’Reilly, the NXT Tag Team Champion, was not going to make this easy for the fan favourite among the Full Sail faithful.

O’Reilly was ready to make an immediate impact as a singles competitor. He displayed his remarkable grappling skill from the outset, grinding the almost impervious Gargano into the canvas.

As the match progressed, the feeling-out process gave way to heavy blows and near-submissions. Gargano stomped O’Reilly with boots and wicked hits, and O’Reilly fought back with a boa-constrictor-tight front chancery and venomous axe kicks. The other Undisputed ERA members at ringside tried to interfere on behalf of the NXT Tag Team Champion - but the referee was ready for the distraction and quickly ejected them from ringside!

The match continued with both talented grapplers exchanging forward momentum as only Gargano and O’Reilly could. With devastating kicks, the NXT Tag Team Champion nearly won the contest but the rebel heart of Johnny Wrestling simply continued to beat. Gargano fought back as the underdog that he is and blasted O’Reilly with kicks and slaps before locking in the Garga-No-Escape, forcing Kyle to tap out!

With a big win to his name, Johnny Wrestling quickly zoomed out of the ring as Adam Cole and Bobby Fish ran out from the back to check on their Undisputed ERA cohort. Gargano has created a huge wave a momentum ahead of his “I Quit” Match against Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.

… speaking of NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, the NXT General Manager William Regal came down to the ring to join The Undisputed ERA for his special announcement for the NXT Tag Team Championship match for April 7th. After pondering his decision for the NXT Tag Team Championship match, Regal had a match in mind for the big show. Much to the Undisputed ERA’s chagrin, Regal invited The Mighty to the ring to hear the announcement.

The duo of Shane Thorne and Nick Miller came down to the ring to the delight of the Full Sail faithful as William Regal stood between the two combustible teams. With The Mighty on one side of the ring and the NXT Tag Team Champions on the other, Regal had finally made his decision. At NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, The Undisputed ERA will defend the NXT Tag Team Championships against The Mighty!...

and SAnitY’s Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe! With the drop of the announcement, SAnitY rushed the ring and began brawling with both the champions and their other opponents. All three teams duked it out in and around the ring as William Regal fails to restore order in his tag team division.

Things break down in the ring as The Mighty find themselves cornered by the trio of the ERA and the trio of SAnitY - until Buddy Murphy ran down to the ring to join his fellow Aussies! Shane Thorne, Nick Miller, and Buddy Murphy collectively run rampant on the other two teams as the NXT broadcast came to a chaotic close.

The Mighty have found a new ally in Buddy Murphy and are clearly ready for the huge triple threat match on Saturday, April 7, live on the award-winning WWE Network. The Mighty are ready to stand tall come New Orleans, because The Mighty don’t kneel.

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">The Undertaker returns to Raw to address his WrestleMania bout with Braun Strowman</div></p><p>

The stage is set for The Deadman to return at WrestleMania, and he has vengeance on his mind. After what Braun Strowman did to Kane, The Undertaker looks to avenge his brother's beating at The Show of Shows and send Braun Strowman to the depths of hell. Returning to Raw to speak for the first time since Raw's 25th anniversary, The Phenom admitted that he and his brother hadn't always seen eye-to-eye, but family is family, and the same blood runs through their veins, and that is why he will always protect his kin. The Undertaker vowed that Braun Strowman will pay for his sins at WrestleMania, but The Monster Among Men wanted to deliver a message of his own to his WrestleMania adversary.</p><p> </p><p>

The big man emerged to confront the iconic superstar and spoke of how The Undertaker is full of empty threats. Reaching into his pocket, Strowman pulled out the mask of Kane - a symbolic trophy of the heinous assault he unleashed on The Big Red Machine over two months ago. He raised the mask into the air, declaring that he has already annihilated one Brother of Destruction, and in two weeks he will destroy the other. With the threat made, Braun Strowman informed The Undertaker that he should have stayed dead, because he's putting him back in the ground in New Orleans. Of course, The Deadman is not one to ignore such threats, and responded in a way only he can - telling Braun Strowman that at WrestleMania - he will rest in peace.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#cb1516;">Asuka def. Raw Women's Champion Sasha Banks</div></p><p>

While this was originally scheduled to be the Raw Women's Championship Match at WrestleMania, thanks to Stephanie McMahon's intervention, it no longer would be as two more superstars were added to the mix. However, not wanting to rob the WWE Universe of what could have been, Asuka and Sasha Banks squared off on Raw, and it fell in the favour of the 2018 Women's Royal Rumble winner. The undefeated streak continued as The Empress of Tomorrow defeated The Boss in non-title action, forcing her into submission with the Asuka Lock.</p><p> </p><p>

Moments after the bell, one of the two other superstars involved in the WrestleMania title clash appeared, Alexa Bliss storming down to ringside and blindsiding Asuka. But her plan to wound one of her opponents at The Show of Shows fell flat as the Japanese superstar delivered a roundhouse kick to Little Miss Bliss, sending her crashing out of the ring. But while Asuka fended off her attacker, the other superstar in the equation - Bayley - struck from seemingly out of nowhere and drove Asuka into the canvas with a Bayley-to-Belly! The Huggable One stood tall over The Empress of Tomorrow, and gave a scathing look up the ramp to the retreating Sasha Banks who clutched her Raw Women's Championship close to her chest. It's clear that Bayley is no longer in the mood for hugs, and gold is all that's on her mind.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Jason Jordan and Curt Hawkins announce their participation in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal</div></p><p>

The question of who will leave WrestleMania with the André the Giant Memorial trophy is still up in the air, and even more so with more superstars putting their name in the hat. Jason Jordan declared his entry into the bout, playing on his relationship with Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle, and explaining ho that will help him secure victory at The Show of Shows. But also involving themselves in the bout is Curt Hawkins, who said that the entire locker room would have to "face the facts" and realise that this will be his year, and the infamous losing streak will be broken at WrestleMania.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#cb1516;">The Revival def. Heath Slater & Rhyno</div></p><p>

Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson may have come up short in their "big match" last week against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, but this didn't stop the former NXT Tag Team Champions from continuing to pursue their WrestleMania goals. After disposing of Heath Slater and Rhyno with a Shatter Machine to The Man Beast, The Revival declared their intention to participate in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.</p><p> </p><p>

With these two physical superstars entering the big bout in New Orleans, will anyone be able to stop their force as a team? Although, should they unite to clear the field, what will happen if it comes down to just the two of them?</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">R-Truth returns to crash Elias' concert with a song of his own</div></p><p>

Unfortunately, the WWE Universe were graced with another ear-offending performance from The Sinister Songsmith, with the subject being that of WrestleMania and how he guarantees victory. But his recent performances have not only got on the wrong side of our fans, but some superstars have also taken issue. And one superstar in particular happened to be the returning R-Truth. The Suntan Superman crashed Elias' performance with one of his own, rapping his way to the ring with one clear message - Elias sucks!</p><p> </p><p>

Of course, Elias took issue with the interruption and questioned who R-Truth thought he was, but when the former United States Champion informed him that he was here to save the WWE Universe from his horrifying vocals, The Sinister Songsmith struck with his guitar to the gut. A referee emerged and somehow, a one-on-one contest began.</p><p> </p><p>

<hr></p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#cb1516;">R-Truth def. Elias</div></p><p>

Maybe Elias should have done what R-Truth said and just shut his mouth, because it landed him a loss once again after his defeat at the hands of Apollo last week. While he dominated a large portion of the match coming off his vicious shot the guitar, when he attempted his Drift Away manoeuvre he was dragged to the canvas and rolled into a small package by R-Truth, securing him a shock victory.</p><p> </p><p>

R-Truth quickly fled ringside as Elias looked on in a fit of rage. The referee confirmed the three count was made and announced R-Truth as the victor while Elias threw his arms into the air. The Sinister Songsmith might have just received his curtain call at the hands of a fellow musician.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#cb1516;">"Woken" Matt Hardy def. Bray Wyatt at The Hardy Compound</div></p><p>

The Great War has raged on between Bray Wyatt and "Woken" Matt Hardy, crashing through tables, chairs, ladders and even The Wyatt Compound. But this week, the battle would culminate once and for all within the confines of the mysterious Hardy Compound. An ominous scene opened up featuring The Eater of Worlds himself approaching the gates of the compound with a demonic look upon his face, a much darker expression than we have ever seen before. The Face of Fear flung his arms up in front of him and the gates of the mysterious compound burst open, the various structures built in the yard becoming visible as floodlights burst into action. In the distance, The Woken One emerged on the steps before Wyatt and welcomed him to his "humble abode".</p><p> </p><p>

As if it was in the movies, the two superstars rushed towards each other and clashed in the center of the yard, engaging in an all-out brawl. As the pair continued to throw right hands, they tumbled down the hill into the "Pits of Obsoletion" where Bray Wyatt mounted his adversary and unleashed a flurry of shots. With the advantage on his side, Wyatt looked around him for weapons and discovered a shovel nearby with the word "DELETE" written in red on its back. "I will delete you!" bellowed Wyatt as he swung for the fences, but luckily Hardy was able to evade the shots and retreated further into the Pits to arrive at The Lake of Reincarnation. Bray Wyatt stalked his rival and went for another shot, only to have Matt Hardy kick him in the gut and deliver a Twist of Fate on the coast. The Woken One made an attempt to roll The Eater of Worlds into the lake - but Bray Wyatt got to his feet and bounced Hardy's head off a nearby "dilapidated boat", otherwise known as Skarsgård.</p><p> </p><p>

The fight continued as Wyatt dragged Hardy up the hill and laid him on the grass before wrapping his hands around the throat of Matt Hardy, hoping to choke the life out of him. Wyatt's eyes went completely white and his voice became demonic as Matt Hardy looked up in horror. But luckily, a particular ally of Hardy's was on hand to make the save - King Maxel! The young of Matt Hardy lunged onto the back of Bray Wyatt in a fearless attempt to save his father. Wyatt entered a frenzy, trying to remove Maxel from his back, but Matt Hardy used the opportunity to kick Wyatt in the gut, remove his son and throw Wyatt through the door of The Dome of Deletion.</p><p> </p><p>

Upon entering the infamous building, Matt Hardy mounted a lawnmower and attempted to run over The Face of Fear. Bray Wyatt jumped to his feet and out of the way, pulling Hardy off the vehicle and throwing him through a nearby table. The Eater of Worlds once again attempted to choke The Woken One as his eyes glazed over and black smoke began emanating from his body. "Your time is up!" screamed Wyatt in a demonic voice belonging to that of Sister Abigail. But suddenly, Wyatt's attempts to finish Hardy were halted with a swift shot to the back of the skull with the shovel from earlier - wielded by Senior Benjamin! Benjamin shrugged his shoulders and smiled to the WWE Universe as Wyatt crumbled to the concrete floor. Matt Hardy stood over his fallen rival and as he looked up, the rest of his Woken Family gathered around the lifeless body of The Eater of Worlds. "Woken" Matt Hardy, Senior Benjamin and King Maxel stood over Wyatt before welcoming over Queen Rebecca and the latest "Woken" addition, Lord Wolfgang.</p><p> </p><p>

The Woken Family stood around Wyatt before holding hands and looking to the sky, chanting "Delete! Delete! Delete!" in some sort of ritual. Bray Wyatt came to and began screaming in horror, begging them to stop, but before he could escape, an explosion of dark burst from within the circle and what can only be assumed as the soul of Sister Abigail flew into the air before exploding to dust with an almighty screech. The family looked down to reveal that Wyatt's body had vanished, and was instead replaced with a smoking lantern. The Woken One raised the lantern to his face with a psychopathic smile before declaring finally - "Bray Wyatt... has been... DELETED!". Matt Hardy blew out the light in the lantern and everything cut to darkness.</p><p> </p><p>

The Great War... is OVAH!</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Ronda Rousey returns to Raw and is confronted by The Authority</div></p><p>

After last week's takeover of Raw by Stephanie McMahon, it was time to get back to business and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey was more than ready to do just that. The former UFC competitor arrived on Raw to a standing ovation, and rightly so as she thanked the WWE Universe for their kindness. But she wasn't on Raw to talk about herself, she was on Raw to issue a clear warning to Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. The Rowdy One declared that WrestleMania 34 would undoubtedly be one to remember, and hopes that one of the memorable moments will be when she messes up Stephanie McMahon's pretty little face. The WWE Universe agree. But someone who didn't agree was obviously The Billionaire Baroness herself who arrived in the arena alongside her husband to confront her WrestleMania adversary.</p><p> </p><p>

Disagreeing wholeheartedly, Stephanie revealed that there would be no such moment, because when the match at WrestleMania comes to an end, it will be Ronda Rousey laying flat on her back with her shoulders pinned to the mat, courtesy of The Queen of Queens. Stephanie's bravado might have been a bit hasty, however as Rousey squared up to the Raw Commissioner and made a threat to knock her out there and then. Enter The Game. Triple H stood between his wife and the feisty competitor and made it crystal clear that if Ronda Rousey laid a finger on his wife, she would regret it. But no sooner had he made the statement, the Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle emerged to stand side-by-side with his WrestleMania ally. The Olympic Gold Medalist had something to say to The Authority.</p><p> </p><p>

Not only does Kurt Angle want to beat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, but he promised that he and Rousey would force them into submission in front of millions of people in New Orleans. The Hall of Famer guaranteed victory and promised that when all is said and done, he will get his revenge on The Game. Before things became physical, Triple H diffused the situation and backed himself and his wife out of the ring before declaring from the outside that once they beat Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania - they'll both be fired! Only two weeks remain until Ronda Rousey debuts and teams with Kurt Angle to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#cb1516;">Nia Jax def. Two Local Competitors</div></p><p>

Nobody will stop Nia Jax on her Road to WrestleMania, and that was proven as she destroyed two local competitors on Raw this week. The Irresistible Force decimated her adversaries, finishing one off with a Samoan Drop. Moments after the bell, the dominant superstar delivered a second Samoan Drop to the other competitor and laid her on top of her partner, only to deliver a devastating leg drop to the pair.</p><p> </p><p>

Nia Jax is on the warpath, but where will she end up when WrestleMania comes around?</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Shinsuke Nakamura arrives at the arena looking for Brock Lesnar</div></p><p>

After last week's brutal beating, nobody expected to see Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania, let alone on Raw one week later! The King of Strong Style arrived at the arena with one thing on his mind, and that was revenge. Still taped up from last week's assault, storming through the corridors, Nakamura shouted out Lesnar's name. Charly Caruso attempted to get a few quick words from the number one contender, but he simply asked where Brock Lesnar was. But before she could respond, Nakamura declared that the Universal Champion will truly know the meaning of "strong style" when he gets his hands on him, before storming off to continue his search.</p><p> </p><p>

<hr></p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#cb1516;">Raw Tag Team Champion Cesaro def. Seth Rollins</div></p><p>

The Raw Tag Team Championships will be on the line at WrestleMania, and the challengers will be none other than Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. After the bout was made official last week, the two teams looked for some momentum this week as Cesaro took on The Architect in one-on-one action. The back-and-forth bout between the two took a chaotic turn when Sheamus attempted to assist his tag team partner, only to be pulled from the ring apron by Roman Reigns who then delivered a big Superman Punch! Cesaro became distracted and almost fell victim to a Blackout, but as he avoided the devastating move, he rolled Rollins up and grabbed a handful of tights to steal the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

The Bar retreated up the aisle with their titles and looked on with grins as Roman Reigns slid into the ring just moments from preventing the injustice. Gloating as they left, Sheamus and Cesaro had smiles from ear-to-ear, raising their Raw Tag Team Championships. But the situation will be different at WrestleMania when all four men compete in the match for the glory of being Champions.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Absolution viciously assault Dana Brooke backstage</div></p><p>

Last week's vicious post-match attack on Mickie James and Alicia Fox was typical of Absolution, and fits their recent MO. But while Dana Brooke was innocently talking with her colleagues backstage, she was assaulted from behind by Paige, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose! Absolution laid waste to the unsuspecting superstar and left her laying on the floor in a heap before quickly fleeing from the scene as Apollo and Titus O'Neil arrive to save her from further harm. What do these attacks mean? Is there a purpose, or are Absolution simply making a statement that nobody can ignore?</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#cb1516;">Intercontinental Champion The Miz & Samoa Joe def. Finn Bálor & John Cena</div></p><p>

Stephanie McMahon's takeover of Raw last week led to a bit of opponent swapping for these four men, leading to two matches between Joe and Bálor, and Cena and Miz. But this week, the four were thrown into a tag team main event with huge WrestleMania implications. A victory for either team would mean momentum heading into The Show of Shows, and at this point that means everything. Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe kicked things off in a back-and-forth battle reminiscent of last week's hard-fought war. However, Samoa Joe gained the advantage and tagged in the Intercontinental Champion who began to work over his WrestleMania adversary. Bálor found a second wind and battled back, able to tag in John Cena to take on his old rival, The Miz. The Cenation Leader closed in on victory, lifting Miz onto his shoulders for the Attitude Adjustment, but refusing to let Cena have any moment of glory, The Destroyer attacked and sent the 16-time World Champion into the ring post.</p><p> </p><p>

Seeing that John Cena was in danger, Bálor made the blind tag and flew from the top rope to take Samoa Joe down to the outside. And as he fell through the ropes, John Cena followed, engaging in an all-out brawl with his WrestleMania opponent. Things begna to get out of hand as Samoa Joe and John Cena tore into each other, causing chaos around the ring, using anything in the vicinity to harm the other. Joe sent Cena crashing through the steel steps and then into the barricade. The official became concerned with the battle and shouted to the outside to try and restore order, and meanwhile in the ring, the number one contender was closing in on a victory. Finn Bálor climbed the ropes and measured the Intercontinental Champion for his patented Coupe de Grace, but out of nowhere, The Miz's cohorts, Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas emerged. And with the referee occupied elsewhere, shoved Bálor from the top, hanging him up on the top rope throat-first! He bounced back and was grabbed by The Miz who delivered a Skull-Crushing Finale and secured the win for himself and Samoa Joe.</p><p> </p><p>

The Miztourage collected their leader and quickly retreated as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson arrived at ringside to even the odds. The Miz had picked up an important victory, in his hometown nonetheless, and heads into WrestleMania with momentum. With just two weeks left, this victory changes everything. As The Good Brothers tend to their fallen ally, the war raged on in the crowd between Samoa Joe and John Cena who were still brawling. But Joe ended it by throwing Cena into a steel barrier before being escorted away by officials. The fight in New Orleans will certainly not be one you want to miss.</p><p> </p><p>

<hr></p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Shinsuke Nakamura calls out Brock Lesnar after declaring that he is still standing</div></p><p>

Just when you thought it was all over! Shinsuke Nakamura hit the ring, still on his hunt for The Beast and wasted no time calling out the Universal Champion. The number one contender was irate as he demanded that Brock Lesnar show his face, but instead of his WrestleMania adversary, he got the next best thing - Paul Heyman. The advocate for the Universal Champion strolled his way to ringside with a smug grin on his face, revealing to Shinsuke Nakamura and the rest of the WWE Universe that Brock Lesnar was in fact <i>not</i> in attendance. The reaction was deafening as the WWE Universe told Heyman exactly what they thought of Lesnar's absence, but Paul Heyman simply explained that The Rockstar would have to wait until next week when his client returns for the final Raw before WrestleMania.</p><p> </p><p>

The King of Strong Style was not happy that his WrestleMania opponent had not showed up for Raw and confronted Paul Heyman with an angered expression. The number one contender explained that Brock Lesnar can attack him by surprise all he wants, but no matter how bad he is beaten, how bad he is broken, he will <i>always</i> fight and he will <i>always</i> come back. But Paul Heyman was unimpressed, claiming that Shinsuke Nakamura should know better than to try and fight back, pleading with him to just stay down and accept that Brock Lesnar is the most dominant Champion in wrestling history and that no man can beat him. The Artist calmed himself and smirked before informing the advocate that if Brock Lesnar wasn't on Raw, he had a message he wanted him to deliver ahead of next week - a roundhouse kick to the head!</p><p> </p><p>

Shinsuke Nakamura laid out Paul Heyman to the utter delight of the WWE Universe, and didn't stop there as he reversed into the corner and began gyrating in preparation for a Kinshasa. But before he could lunge forward and deliver it, The Beast surprisingly appeared on the stage with his eyes wide and his face red with rage. Nakamura beckons Lesnar to the ring and the Universal Champion makes his way down before sliding into the ring and immediately engaging in a physical brawl with his WrestleMania challenger, the pair pulling no punches, going all out on the other. Carnage ensued and all hell broke loose, many ringside fans fearing for their safety as the pair unleashed an unholy beating on each other.</p><p> </p><p>

As things began to take a much more serious turn between the two physical competitors, officials, security and even the Raw locker room quickly made their way to ringside to separate the two. Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle led the group to the ring and stood between the two unhinged superstars. Somehow, Shinsuke Nakamura escaped the clutches of his fellow superstars and leapt towards the Universal Champion, engaging in yet another brawl. They were separated once more and Nakamura was escorted from ringside. This rivalry has gone beyond the Universal Championship, and this is about pride, and who the <i>true</i> King of Strong Style really is.</div></p><p>

The unthinkable happened on SmackDown LIVE last week when Daniel Bryan was declared clear to compete, all thanks to a contract signed by Shane McMahon himself. But there was a catch - Daniel Bryan has to face Shane McMahon at WrestleMania! The power struggle between the two men became much more than just business when the WrestleMania bout was made official, and the question now is with just under two weeks to go until The Show of Shows, can Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon co-exist and run SmackDown LIVE with their one-on-one bout just around the corner?</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks to his actions, a match has been scheduled for this week's edition of SmackDown LIVE as Orton gets the opportunity to pick up a huge victory over The Phenomenal One just 12 days before The Show of Shows, garnering him some momentum. Last week's epic battle between The Usos and The New Day caught the eyes of many, and with WrestleMania season truly here, it seemed like an inevitable title clash was imminent. However, rather than wait until WrestleMania, it was decided that the two teams would test their mettle on SmackDown LIVE as these four men clash for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships this week! The Usos have been seeking their WrestleMania moment after being left off for years, but their hopes of having their moment of glory on The Grandest Stage of Them All may fall flat if The New Day can capture their fifth Tag Team Championships!</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Shane McMahon confronts Daniel Bryan and asks him the burning question</div></p><p>

The moment that Daniel Bryan had fought for ever since his forced retirement in 2016 had finally come. The Yes Man had been officially cleared to compete, all thanks to a sign on the dotted line by Shane McMahon. But it wasn't a gesture of good will, it was a way to get Daniel Bryan in the ring for a one-on-one bout at WrestleMania. The SmackDown LIVE General Manager opened the show this week to express his delight at finally being allowed to return to doing what he loves the most, but also that it will prove to be Shane McMahon's biggest mistake. At WrestleMania, the former World Champion vows to break The Prodigal Son and force him into submission in front of millions of fans around the world and prove that he is indeed the better man. But before Bryan could continue, he was joined by the man himself.</p><p> </p><p>

Shane-O-Mac arrived in the arena to first of all say that aside from all of the turmoil, he too is glad that Daniel Bryan's in-ring career can once again entertain the WWE Universe. But shifting to more serious matters, the Commissioner of SmackDown LIVE stated that he wants the true Daniel Bryan at The Show of Shows. But he then delivered somewhat of a low blow to his colleague-turned-rival as he questioned if Daniel Bryan still had the ability to compete after all this time. Safe to say, this infuriated Daniel Bryan who squared up to Shane and the two engaged in an intense nose-to-nose staredown. But rather than things turning ugly, The Yes Man decided to back away and instead leave ringside without even giving a look back. McMahon looked on in confusion and surprise as Daniel Bryan stormed to the back without so much as a glance back to the ring. The SmackDown LIVE Commissioner may have just touched a nerve.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#103ab6;">Dolph Ziggler def. Rusev</div></p><p>

As his two WrestleMania adversaries do battle in the main event of the night, Dolph Ziggler took on The Bulgarian Brute to kick off SmackDown LIVE. Looking to gain some momentum heading into the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, Rusev aimed to defeat the number one contender to the WWE Championship and land himself in a very handsome position. But when a miscommunication between Rusev and his ally, Aiden English resulted in The Artiste being knocked from the ring apron down to the floor, Ziggler was able to capitalise and deliver a Zig Zag to end the match.</p><p> </p><p>

The Show-off secured a victory just two weeks before possibly the biggest match of his entire career, and looked strong heading into his WWE Championship opportunity. Despite coming up short against Becky Lynch last week, Naomi looked ahead to the future and took on Liv Morgan of The Riott Squad in singles action. But as she closed in on victory after hitting a Rear View on feisty superstar, she was assaulted by Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan, forcing the referee to call for a disqualification.</p><p> </p><p>

Much like in previous weeks, The Riott Squad attacked like a pack of wolves, picking apart Naomi with no remorse. Ruby Riott delivered a stiff Riott Kick to the former Women's Champion and the group left her laying in the center of the ring with devious expressions on their faces. The Riott Squad are taking no prisoners, and nobody is safe.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#103ab6;">United States Champion Bobby Roode def. Shelton Benjamin</div></p><p>

Two weeks remain until Bobby Roode opens the floor to any and all superstars looking to challenge him for the United States Championship at WrestleMania. This week, Shelton Benjamin was given the opportunity to take on The Glorious One in non-title action, hoping to make a statement and potentially put himself forward for the challenge in New Orleans. But like those before him, he fell victim to a Glorious DDT after missing a superkick which landed him with a loss.</p><p> </p><p>

A glorious celebration followed the ring bell as Bobby Roode raised the United States Championship above his head, but Shelton Benjamin's tag team partner, Chad Gable decided he was going to send a message to The Glorious One and attacked him from behind. But unfortunately for him, he too was driven into the canvas with a Glorious DDT. Bobby Roode continued to look impressive as his open challenge is just a mere two weeks away. Who will rise to the occasion on The Grandest Stage of Them All?</p><p> </p><p>

<hr></p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#103ab6;">SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The New Day ends in a no contest</div></p><p>

Their incredible contest last week landed them a rematch this week, and the SmackDown Tag Team Championships were on the line. The Usos defended their titles against their arch-rivals The New Day in another epic battle, both teams coming inches from victory after hitting their own signature moves, the opportunity to ride into WrestleMania as Champions on the line. Jimmy Uso ascended the ropes to deliver an Uso Splash to Big E, and looked to be closing in on a victory, when suddenly the WWE Universe were robbed of their definitive finish to this incredible bout as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn inexplicably crashed the party, shoving Jimmy from the top down to the floor outside, sending him crashing into the barricade. Entering the ring, The Prizefighter delivered a superkick to Kofi Kingston turning him inside out as the referee called for the ring bell.</p><p> </p><p>

Chaos ensued as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn began laying waste to anyone in their path, tossing Kofi Kingston out of the ring and then Sami Zayn delivering a Helluva Kick to Jey Uso. Big E got to his feet to fend off the assailants, but he was taken down by a Pop-up Powerbomb by the former Universal Champion. Xavier Woods entered the ring to try and make the save, but he too fell victim to the onslaught as Zayn drove him into the canvas with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn stood tall over the carnage they had just created and demanded to be noticed, pointing to the WrestleMania sign hanging above the ring. Where did this unprovoked attack come from?</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#103ab6;">Baron Corbin def. Zack Ryder</div></p><p>

The Lone Wolf was successful in his WrestleMania debut when he won the third annual André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and this year he looked to become the first person to win twice. Showing off his dominance, Baron Corbin defeated Zack Ryder with a vicious End of Days and left The Long Island Iced-Z in a heap, standing over him in victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Can Baron Corbin makes history and leave WrestleMania with the trophy for a second time in New Orleans?</p><p> </p><p>

<hr></p><p>

<div style="font:18px Roboto;font-weight:bold;">Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan clash over the WrestleMania status of the SmackDown Tag Team Championships</div></p><p>

The WWE Universe were still abuzz after Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn ruined the SmackDown Tag Team Championships Match earlier in the night, and the discussion was boiling over between Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan backstage. The pair engaged in a heated debate, as Shane McMahon claimed that as a result of Owens and Zayn's reckless behaviour, he was scheduling a rematch for The Usos and The New Day to take place at WrestleMania. But The Yes Man informed Shane that he refuses to let him rule over him and declares that he's adding Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to that match, making it a Triple Threat Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. The Prodigal Son reluctantly agreed and explained that when WrestleMania is over, we will see who truly has control of SmackDown LIVE. Shane-O departed, leaving Daniel Bryan looking on with a scowl.</p><p> </p><p>

<hr></p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#103ab6;">SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair def. Carmella</div></p><p>

The Queen will defend her SmackDown Women's Championship against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania, but before that she would take on the holder of the Money in the Bank briefcase, Carmella in singles action. With The Irish Lasskicker on commentary, Charlotte Flair was able to defeat The Princess of Staten Island after hitting the Natural Selection and hooking the leg for the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Flair immediately got to her feet and saw Becky Lynch holding the gold on the outside with a smile. The former Women's Champion handed over the title to its rightful owner through the ropes as Charlotte looked on with a smile. With just two weeks until their clash, it was clear that the respect between these two superstars was still strong. However, as The Queen raised the SmackDown Women's Championship over her head, she was attacked from behind by Miss Money in the Bank! Carmella struck with a sharp blow to the back of Flair before quickly scarpering and leaving up the ramp before Becky Lynch could slide in and make the save. Carmella made it very clear that she was still waiting in the wings with her contract, and should certainly not be forgotten.</p><p> </p><p>

<hr></p><p>

<div style="font:24px Roboto;font-weight:bold;color:#103ab6;">Randy Orton def. WWE Champion AJ Styles</div></p><p>

This battle of epic proportions did not disappoint as the WWE Champion, AJ Styles went head-to-head with one of his two challengers in New Orleans. The Viper was eager to get the upper hand over The Phenomenal One and head into The Show of Shows with momentum, but it wasn't going to be an easy task to keep the WWE Champion down. And AJ Styles proved that by going toe-to-toe with the former World Champion. But Styles' risk-taking nature may have been what cost him this bout as an attempt at a Phenomenal Forearm resulted in an awe-inspiring RKO in mid-air, driving AJ Styles into the canvas and allowing Orton to secure the win - a huge win at that - just two weeks away from the WWE Championship Triple Threat Match.</p><p> </p><p>

The Viper stood over the fallen WWE Champion and raised his arms into the air, giving a quick glance towards the WrestleMania sign above, realising that the title could soon be back in his possession on The Grandest Stage of Them All. But perhaps he was forgetting about one major element - Dolph Ziggler. The Show-off arrived at ringside and wasted no time delivering a thunderous Zig Zag to the unsuspecting Randy Orton, and snatched the WWE Championship from the hands of the official. He calls himself "The Greatest In-ring Performer in WWE History", and at WrestleMania he has the chance to prove that and become the WWE Champion for the first time ever. Show off.</div></p><p>

WWE 205 Live: March 27, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

As we approach WrestleMania is grand strides, the action in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament continues as four men will duke it out to advance to the finals. With Hideo Itami, Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander, and Kalisto all looking to secure their ticket to the Grandest Stage of Them All, who will prevail and earn a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship?

Cedric Alexander def. Kalisto

For Cedric Alexander, punching his ticket to WrestleMania could mean that the world finally accepts the Age of Alexander. For Kalisto, heading to WrestleMania means that his redemption story from once being thrown into garbage by Braun Strowman to being the face of the Cruiserweight division would be complete.

Both men fought back and forth for control of the match, both men vying for the big W in this WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament semi-final match. Cedric Alexander and the masked marvel gave it their all in the bout, but in the end only one could stand tall. After reversing the Salida del Sol into a snap German suplex, Alexander connected with the Lumbar Check to secure his ticket to WrestleMania.

205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick's important phone conversation was interrupted by the appearance of the duo of Tony Nese and Drew Gulak. While they have both been eliminated, the two friends still want a shot at the Grandest Stage of Them All for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Maverick quickly shot them down, but told them that they can compete next week on 205 Live: against the team of the U.K.’s Tyler Bate and Mark Andrews!

Hideo Itami def. Mustafa Ali

Earlier in the night, Cedric Alexander advanced to the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament at WrestleMania, but he needs an opponent. Both Mustafa Ali and Hideo Itami were hoping to add their name to the Cruiserweight marquee on the Show of Shows. Both men have fought valiantly to make it this far in the tournament, with only one last hurdle standing in front of them before battle on Bourbon street.

The battle for the upperhand was strong in this one, with both competitors trying their absolute best to put the other away to earn their shot at championship glory in New Orleans. Ali targeted the Japanese Sensation’s leg, but Hideo fought back with hard strikes that would make any strong style fan blush. It looked like Ali had the match won after a beautiful shining wizard out of nowhere, but the veteran instinct of Itami kicked in as he fought back and put Mustafa away with the Go 2 Sleep for the one-two-three.

Hideo Itami rose to his feet in victory after the bell with a smirk on his face, knowing that he has now earned his way back to WrestleMania. Itami is ready to add another championship to his long resume, but in his way stands Cedric Alexander. Who will walk out as WWE Cruiserweight Champion on April 8th, 2018, when WrestleMania is live on the WWE Network?

WWE NXT: March 28, 2018 in Orlando, Florida

With WrestleMania weekend just over a week away, the superstars of the WWE’s black and yellow brand return to Full Sail University in beautiful Orlando, Florida for another week of the best wrestling on television. Ahead of his huge NXT Championship match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, reigning champ Andrade “Cien” Almas does battle with “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” Roderick Strong! All that and much more tonight on NXT!

The Authors of Pain def. The Street Profits

Even though they were not announced for the monumental NXT Tag Team Championship match in New Orleans, both The Authors of Pain and The Street Profits were looking to make their mark on the tag team division for a potential future championship opportunity. Akam and Rezar continued their domination in the division thanks in part to a timely distraction by AOP’s manager, Paul Ellering, as well as a premature celebration by the Profits’ Montez Ford.

In reaction to a dynamic series of moves by his teammate Angelo Dawkins, Ford paraded around ringside, drink cup in hand, until he ran across Ellering. Ford offered the WWE Hall of Fame manager a sip, but Ellering knocked the beverage out of Ford’s hands, much to Ford (and the NXT Universe’s) disappointment. The out-of-ring antics distracted Dawkins from the matter at hand, allowing AOP to bludgeon him with the Last Chapter for the win.

Lars Sullivan def. John Silver

Like a predator devouring its prey, Lars Sullivan feasted on John Silver before the NXT Universe’s eyes. The 300-pound punisher mauled Silver, tossing him from one corner of the ring to the other. The logophile leviathan even took flight, nearly caving in Silver’s upper-body with a top-rope headbutt. Sullivan finally put Silver out of his misery by slamming him into the canvas with the Freak Accident.

Much like Ember Moon’s interview last week, Peyton Royce sat down with Cathy Kelley to discuss her clash for the NXT Women’s Championship in New Orleans. Royce mentioned that she had been passed up for the other NXT women superstars in the past, noting that she had been working harder than the Charlottes, the Sasha Bankses, and the Alexa Blisses in the Performance Center but they always got the opportunity to shine before she did. This all ends in New Orleans.

While she parades herself around with Billie Kay as the Iconic Duo, this championship opportunity is not a time for an episode of Iconic or Not. She is coming to NXT TakeOver: New Orleans with a victory on her mind - and she is not leaving until she beats Ember Moon to finally earn her place on top of the NXT Women’s division… and that is Iconic.

As Dakota Kai stood in the ring awaiting her scheduled opponent, the NXT announce team got word of an altercation in the parking lot between Aleister Black and the NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas.

El Idolo had ambushed The Dutch Destroyer, his challenger at TakeOver: New Orleans, from behind. With Zelina Vega cheering him on, a furious Almas tore into Black with a vengeance, ramming the NXT Title contender head-first into a door and screaming that he would not be disrespected. The assault spilled into the arena and eventually the squared circle, where Almas slammed a steel chair into his rival for good measure. The NXT Champion then held the title aloft and stood over Black’s supine body in a scary display of supremacy.

Kairi Sane def. Aliyah

While her ongoing feud with Shayna Baszler remained in the back of her mind, “The Pirate Princess” Kairi Sane showed her dominance in an outing against young NXT veteran Aliyah.

Never missing a chance to get inside Kairi’s head, Baszler joined Mauro Ranallo, Percy Watson and Nigel McGuinness on commentary just as the match got underway. Kicking up her feet on the announce desk, The Queen of Spades spewed venom toward the winner of the inaugural Mae Young Classic, promising a one-sided beating whenever the two rivals clash once again.

After downing Aliyah with the devastating Insane Elbow to claim the victory, Kairi stared down Baszler from the ring while Baszler returned a glare from atop the announce desk. A fight is brewing between these two blood rivals.

The first-ever WWE U.K. Champion Tyler Bate joined Mike Rome in the interview booth with an answer to the Velveteen Dream’s New Orleans challenge last week. Bate is not one to back down from any challenge and he accepts Dream’s invitation for a match at TakeOver. Will Bate prove that he deserves the NXT Year-End Award? Or will Velveteen Dream continue his climb of momentum with a big win over the former UK Champion?

Andrade “Cien” Almas def. Roderick Strong

After brutally attacking his NXT TakeOver: New Orleans challenger earlier in the night, the NXT Champion managed to put down the hard challenge from Roderick Strong in a preparation match.

With his business associate Zelina Vega by his side, Almas brought the fight directly to Roderick Strong, who knew that a win over the champion would mean great things for his future. Strong fought back valiantly and even managed to nearly steal the win on a few different occasions. But after reversing a backbreaker into a headlock driver, it was all Almas from there. After a quick Hammerlock DDT, Almas got the hard-earned victory ahead of his huge Battle on Bourbon street.

The high of the big win was only temporary for the NXT Champion when a battered and angered Aleister Black ran down to the ring after the match to engage in a brawl with his New Orleans opponent. Almas tried to retreat up the ramp, but Black caught up to him and speared the Champion off the stage and through the commentary booth!

Even though he was attacked earlier in the night, Aleister Black was the only man to stand tall as this week’s NXT came to a close. Will we see the same lasting image on April 7th when NXT TakeOver: New Orleans airs live on the WWE Network?
