Congrats to Beejus on winning the Spring Stampede predictions.

Ha, this diary even has a special The Gambler rule! :D

It's the token stealin’, card flingin’, taxi cab ridin’ son of a gun himself – The Gambler. :D

Steel Cage Bunkhouse Stampede Battle Royal (The winner gets an title shot at Slamboree)

Randy Savage vs. Curt Hennig vs. The Warrior vs. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Brian Knobbs vs. Jerry Sags vs. Kevin Sullivan vs. One Man Gang vs. Jim Duggan vs. Steven Regal.

Comment: Warrior v Vader, a battle for the ages

That is a huge moneymaker storyline and one of the main reasons for signing Warrior.

Who will leave WCW? Austin (gotta give the boys up north a small chance right?)

I considered doing it, but, since Austin is a protege of Flair and was promised a World title run in 1994 before Hogan came in, i went the other direction. So Austin is protected by Flair from being jobbed out by Hogan and his cronies.

Why is The Booty Man obsessed by his own ass? Cause it’s bootiliciois

You read my mind! :D

Bunkhouse Brawl

Konnan vs. Bunkhouse Buck

Comment: Knowing Konnan, he'll probably piss & moan until he gets the win, or he'll take some deposit money and leave the country with it. :p

Konnan didn't like it, but this feud is far from over. Konnan is gaining overness in the U.S., but Buck is still in the 72-80 range because of the 1994 Stud Stable vs. The Rhodes feud.

The Booty Man vs. Paul Orndorff

Comment: Always hated that booty gimmick.

So do "Mr. Wonderful". He has targeted that annoying Booty Man and intends to run him out of WCW. :D

Falls Count Anywhere Match for the No 1. Tag Team Contendership

The Steiner Brothers vs. Miracle Violence Connection

Comment: What can I say? Curtman loves Big Poppa Pump!

The tag team division is so stacked with talent at the moment. The Steiners will hopefully be one of the backbone tag teams of the division until it's time for the "Hostile Takeover".

Tag Team Match for the WCW World Tag Team Titles

Fire and Ice vs. Harlem Heat

Comment: Fire and Ice is a HOSS team, but Harlem Heat are the creme-de-la-creme in WCW right now.

Harlem Heat looks like the next all-star team in the division. Competing with The Steiners and MVC will do wonders for their continued developement.

Steel Cage Bunkhouse Stampede Battle Royal (The winner gets an title shot at Slamboree)

Randy Savage vs. Curt Hennig vs. The Warrior vs. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Brian Knobbs vs. Jerry Sags vs. Kevin Sullivan vs. One Man Gang vs. Jim Duggan vs. Steven Regal.

Comment: I might be completely wrong on this, but I'd be pushing Hennig to the gosh-darned moon.

Yeah he deserves some title runs.

Cruiserweight Match for the WCW Cruiserweight Title

Alex Wright vs. Rey Mysterio Jr.

Comment: It's a goal, brother

The Cruiserweight Division is a stepping stone for Wright before leaving or the TV or tag team divisions.

Steel Cage Bunkhouse Stampede Battle Royal (The winner gets an title shot at Slamboree)

Randy Savage vs. Curt Hennig vs. The Warrior vs. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Brian Knobbs vs. Jerry Sags vs. Kevin Sullivan vs. One Man Gang vs. Jim Duggan vs. Steven Regal.

Comment:

Savage in the underdog role, while saving the dream match between Warrior vs. Vader.

Who is the Mystery Challenger? Rick Martel?

A Canadian champion hopefully will help the WCW expansion in Canada.

Who will leave WCW? Pillman? / Austin? None because it's a Dusty finish? / Both because it's a devilish plot twist? You are controlling the WWF now...

This was also under consideration. I also considered Pillman to take Austin spot in the Four Horsemen and later be fired as a part of the "Loose Cannon" storyline.

Who is the Mystery Challenger?

Shane Douglas, the man who "franchised" Booty Man's Ass

"The Franchise" would be a perfect fit for WCW or WWF in a "I'm the real champion" storyline. He's a belt collector and have three title belts at the moment. The other choice for such a role would be Buddy Landel that has two title belts. The issue with Sean Douglas is his current heat with Ric Flair.

2. Pillman will leave and head to ECW to perfect

Indeed he will! :D

<strong>A return to film-making beckons for wrestling legend Roddy Piper</strong> as he has been cast in an upcoming big budget animation movie. Piper, who has landed a lead role, is expected to begin filming in three months.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>UFC 5's buyrate is 1.05 which would make it higher than the best buyrate WCW has ever done</strong> and about equal with many WWF buyrates. And this is with no TV and very little mainstream publicity. Experts says UFC buyrates will start surpassing Wrestlemania numbers by next year at the rate they've been going up. UFC wants to do a future Ken Shamrock vs. Royce Gracie rematch. NWA World Champion Dan Severn made the NWA relevant again after winning the UFC 5 tournament and is now fielding offers from pretty much every wrestling promotion in the world.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In breaking news, our reporters have confirmed that Pancrase star Bas Rutten</strong> has just won his MMA fight.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sabu has joined up with ECW-enemy Dennis Coraluzzo</strong> and they are working together to promote a show in Michigan. Sabu's lifelong dream has been to run his own promotion like his uncle The Sheik and that's what Sabu and Coraluzzo are doing now. Sabu is upset that Paul Heyman buried him in front of the ECW fans. Heyman is pissed about Sabu's statements about ECW not being real wrestling and wanting more clean finishes. Sabu also has had negotiations with WCW, but wants to work there part-time while keeping Japan as his primary focus. There are rumors about the Sabu vs. ECW situation being a work.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The CMLL World Trios titles changed hands last night</strong>, as Mano Negra, Super Astro and Mascarita Sagrada became the new champions, ending the reign of Jaque Mate, Emilio Charles Jr. and Sangre Chicana.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>60 Minutes and Sports Illustrated are both reportedly working on stories about deaths in wrestling</strong>, focusing on the recent death of Big John Studd (linked to steroids and Dr. Zahorian during Vince McMahon's trial). Insiders claims that, WCW is the most concerned about it because every story about steroids always comes back to Hulk Hogan, plus there's concern that Ted Turner's name could be linked to it, which would be very bad news for WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ECW Barely Legal!</strong> Extreme Championship Wrestling held Barely Legal last night in Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, and drew 9,485 fans. The feedback has been that the show was awesome. The performance of the night belonged to Atsushi Onita after his performance in the tag team match with Nova against and Ace Darling & Balls Mahoney. In the main event Chris Candido defeated Rocco Rock to retain the ECW World Heavyweight title.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>New Jack has gotten into some trouble again</strong>. For whatever reason, New Jack showed up on this low-level indie show near Cincinnati. New Jack ran in during the main event and began throwing real punches at everyone in the ring, and gave one guy a cut that required 12 stitches. Security guards eventually realized that this had gotten out of hand and tackled New Jack which led to more fighting in the parking lot. When the cops showed up, New Jack had already left.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hayabusa has recently been wrestling in the United States</strong>, mainly in the Florida area. The World Wrestling Federation is interested in Hayabusa and offered a tryout, but he has declined and remains with FMW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hiroyoshi Tenzan ended weeks of rumour last night</strong>, as a press release on the NJPW website revealed that he had signed a contract with them. He was sent away on an international excursion in 1994, and New Japan now hopes to benefit from the skills and experience he has picked up in CWA, WCW and XWF.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Puerto Rico's main pro wrestling promotion World Wrestling Council are now a member of the National Wrestling Alliance again</strong>. The promotion was previous a member between 1973 and 1988.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Stampede Wrestling have rejoined the National Wrestling Alliance</strong>. The promotion was previous a member between 1951 and 1982.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>At the recent WCW TV tapings</strong>, Tony Schiavone almost got into a fight with colleague Chris Cruise, after he caused some damage to his rental car and refused to pay for it.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>5 Star Match!</strong> It's rare that we see a genuine "five star" match, but this Wednesday certainly delivered in a big way when Shinya Hashimoto defeated Toshiaki Kawada. The ultra-stiff match has made the NJPW My Enemy Tour one of the must-see events of the year, and is bound to feature heavily in the voting for Match Of The Year.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WWF Insiders confirms that The Kliq has been manipulating the WWF locker room against Bob Holly</strong>. The Kliq is a backstage group in the World Wrestling Federation composed of Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Sean Waltman and Aldo Montoya. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, wields an immense amount of power within the company, which they use to positively influence one another's careers. Shawn Michaels was a previous of The Kliq until his friendship with Kevin Nash ended in last year.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>At the latest WWF tapings Shawn Michaels ended up in a backstage fight</strong> with The Blu Brothers. At the show, the two brothers entered Shawn Michael’s dressing room and put a chair against the door to prevent anyone from coming in. They grabbed Michaels by the throat and held him against the wall while giving him a beating and calling him “a little f*gg*t” and "a punk ass b*tch". Reports say that Shawn was crying like a wimp after the incident. “There are various reports as to the whys of this incident basically stemming from personal disagreements.” Shawn isn't popular in the locker room and many wrestlers want to rough him up, but don’t because of Shawn’s status and power within the company. The Blu Brothers got away with it because of their friendship with Kevin Nash (who don't have Shawn's back anymore since their friendship ended last year), and because they are on their way out of the company anyway. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NJPW steals from AJPW!</strong> Last night saw New Japan complete the signing of AJPW blue chipper Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, as they continue to bolster their roster.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>MMA win for Malenko!</strong> In breaking news, our reporters have confirmed that Carl Greco also known as Carl Malenko has just won his MMA fight. Fans can expect the former Pro Wrestling Fujiwara Gumi shoot wrestler to soon return to the world of pro wrestling.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ECWA Annual Super 8 Tournament!</strong> East Coast Wrestling Assocation held the Annual Super 8 Tournament last night in Knott Arena, in Emmitsburg, Maryland and drew 2,994 fans. The feedback has been that the show was awesome. Christopher Daniels won the tournament after defeating Joe Malenko, Rhino and finally Rob Van Dam. While Rob Van Dam defeated Matt Hardy and Devon Storm to secure his spot in the final. Performance of the night belongs to Shane Douglas that defeated Terry Taylor to retain the ECWA Heavyweight title.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Pro Wrestling America saw a title change last night at PWA Grapplefest</strong>, as 17-year old wonderkid Mr. Aguila lost the PWA Light Heavyweight Championship to Cham Pain. This victory marks his first reign with the title. Mr. Aguila managed nine successful title defences prior to this defeat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Another 5 Star Match!</strong> At the NJPW My Enemy Tour (Sunday), we saw one of the best matches in recent memory as Shinya Hashimoto defeated Toshiaki Kawada. The hard-hitting bout is bound to be a top contender for the "Match of the Year" award.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WAR saw a title change last night at the WAR Super J Cup</strong>, as Yuji Yasuraoka lost the WAR International Jr. Heavyweight Championship to Masaaki Mochizuki.</p>

<p>I don't control ECW anymore, since i didn't enjoy booking that product at all.</p><p> </p><p>

So right now it's WCW, WWF and actually SMW. So available old school workers are likely to end up in SMW together with a few prospect. And since WWF and SMW have a working relationship i can send workers like Jerry Lawler, Al Snow and Unabomb down to SMW to spice it up. So now NWA is relevant again and Dan Severn is booked the way he should be.</p>

Call me crazy but I always have loved Bunkhouse Buck/the Stud Stable's theme there. I can't even put my finger on it other than that I just love the melody and the lead guitar twang of it. It's mostly just a generic few notes, but I like how they're put together.

<strong>Turner Broadcasting executives are pretty hands-off with WCW</strong> and have given Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan full control of every aspect of the company. Bischoff has basically been given a year to get the finances in order and turn the ship around, so any and all budget cuts and firings are 100% Bischoff's and Hogan's decisions.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Missy Hyatt was looking to get an backstage interviewing job with WWF</strong>, but was turned down. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dory Funk Jr. has backed out of wrestling at WCW's Slamboree</strong> in a planned legends match, since he is still recovering from his torn ACL. Wahoo McDaniel has also declined the proposed match, due to wear and tear from currently touring the United States with the Xcitement Wrestling Federation.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>According to insiders</strong>, WCW plans to turn "Macho Man" Randy Savage heel sometime early next year for a huge moneymaking feud with Hulk Hogan.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>AAA had to cancel a planned show in San Jose this week due to their own disorganization</strong>. The arena was booked, but AAA is seemingly in chaos and had no lineup announced, no transportation planned and the show just fell apart. AAA and CMLL are both trying to expand into the United States, but it just doesn't seem to be working.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Sabu and WCW have not yet reached a deal</strong>. Eric Bischoff offered Sabu a spot as the top heel in the new WCW Cruiserweight division and a possible feud with the 19-year old prodigy Alex Wright, but Sabu turned it down because he doesn't want to be typecast as a Cruiserweight wrestler. Sabu reportedly wants to feud for the WCW United States title since that's the title his uncle The Sheik is famous for holding (Back in the NWA days, The Sheik held the "Detroit version" of the title 12 times). </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The WWF reaches an agreement to begin airing periodic prime time specials on NBC</strong>. However, Dick Ebersol, who heads up the network’s sports department, cancels the agreement only days later.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>ABC's Wide World of Sports aired their segment on wrestling this week</strong>. It was a segment called "Requiem for the Heavyweights" and as expected, tried to tie steroids to the death of Big John Studd. Sports Illustrated interviewed Ultimate Warrior, Missy Hyatt, and Dave Meltzer about the death of Big John Studd. WCW was reportedly relieved because they expected the story to be a lot worse and they're terrified of anyone taking a close look at the steroid and drug situation in their company.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Brian Pillman gone from WCW!</strong> WCW and Brian Pillman have parted company after his contract expired after the Loser Leaves WCW Match at Spring Stampede. "Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman has been unavailable to comment about his future.</p>

<p>I might be one of the only people in the world that actually likes the Lethal Lottery gimmick, so that and Vader/Savage is getting me ready for Slamboree!</p><p> </p><p>

Also, I don't know how I missed this earlier, but we got a La Parka mirror match! It could just be "The Most Exciting Man in the World"!

It's time for "Mr. Excitement" John Taylor...

You know he is so wonderful

And he knows it too

John Taylor vs. Paul Orndorff w/ Toni

The loudmouth "Mr. Excitement" John Taylor gets his mouth shut with a couple of punches.

The narcissistic bully "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff is very heelish in his way, and played-up his superior physique bullying his opponent around.

Orndorff received several chants of "Paula" from the crowd.

When...

"Booty time, booty time across the U.S.A. It's booty time, booty time...'"

It's The Booty Man, and the subject of his infatuation is, for some reason, his own ass, which he shakes around.

http://i.imgur.com/L0sYwmw.jpg

"The Original Assman" is distracting "Mr. Wonderful" by putting the moves on his valet Toni.

"Mr. Excitement" surprises "Mr. Wonderful" and manages to get some offense.

"Mr. Wonderful" grows frustrated so he beats the shit out of "Mr. Excitement" and ends it in 2:43 with the Piledriver.

<strong>The May issue of Muscular Development magazine</strong> has an article about Diamond Dallas Page's wife Kimberly Page as a fitness model.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Brian Pillman was arrested on drug possession charges</strong> after police spot him engaging in suspicious behavior in a seedy part of Atlanta while searching for his estranged girlfriend.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hulk Hogan is opening up a Pastamania restaurant at the Mall of America in Minneapolis</strong> and is trying to turn it into a franchise. He is negotiating for leases in Baltimore and Philadelphia, with plans to open 5 more locations this year and another 25 in 1996, and hope to sell Hulk Hogan Pasta and sauces in supermarkets.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW's Craig Pittman became the first wrestler from one of the major American promotions to take part in a shootfighting tournament</strong>, participating in a show in Japan and losing in the semi-finals in a controversial decision. The rules are slightly different than UFC and the match took place in a wrestling ring. Eric Bischoff's idea was for Pittman to have a strong showing in hopes that it would impress UFC enough to invite him to participate in the next UFC show.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Rob Van Dam championship win!</strong> Pro Wrestling America saw a title change, as Shane Douglas lost the PWA Heavyweight championship to Rob Van Dam. This victory marks his first reign with the title. Shane Douglas managed sixteen successful title defences prior to this defeat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Razor Ramon faced Jeff Jarrett in a dark match with Jarrett's manager The Roadie hanging above the ring in a cage</strong> at the latest Raw taping. After the match, they put Jarrett in the cage with The Roadie and then, as a rib, left both guys hanging up there for the next few matches.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Koji Kanemoto began his first reign as IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champion</strong>, when he took the title away from El Samurai at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku. El Samurai managed five successful title defences prior to this defeat.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW is planning to send hyped rookie Paul Wight</strong> down to USWA for seasoning.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bulked up Barry Windham!</strong> The new, more-muscular physique of WWF star Barry Windham has been a topic of conversation amongst some wrestling fans. Apparently the result of a "pretty intense" weight-training regime, he has definetely bulked-up considerably and is now considered a Heavyweighter.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Nailz has reached an out-of-court settlement with WWF</strong>, stemming from the incident in 1992 when Nailz attacked Vince McMahon and then both sides sued each other. The agreement basically comes down to both sides dropping their cases and no money exchanging hands, but allowing Nailz to use that name when wrestling elsewhere. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>In his weekly Calgary Sun newspaper column, Bret Hart wrote about the retirement of Joe Montana</strong> and managed to get some digs in on Ric Flair and Bob Backlund, writing: "I was sad to see the end of the career of one of the truly great players of this or any other era--perhaps the best there is, the best there was or the best there ever will be. At the same time, I was happy to see Montana go out on his terms--at the top of his game, not crippled or dismembered, with class and no regrets. I hope I'm able to go out the same way and not outstay my welcome like Bob Backlund, Ric Flair and others who, sadly, have besmirched their once-shining reputations, by hanging around long after they should have." </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Century Wrestling Alliance became an official affiliate for National Wrestling Alliance</strong> and renamed NWA New England, as was its titles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Partriot gets ripped!</strong> New pictures have emerged showing that Del Wilkes has been working extremely hard in the gym. Boasting an incredibly ripped new physique, the 33 year old is said to be sure that his increased muscularity will have a positive impact on this career. The Patriot is expected to make his debut in WWF, when his non-compete clause has expired.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>UWA Money Woes!</strong> Since the early 1990s the Universal Wrestling Assocation has struggled financially as several of their top wrestlers left the company to work for rival CMLL who could offer them more money. When Antonio Pena broke away from CMLL, and formed AAA if also affected UWA's profit margin. Now when the Peso has lost its value the UWA is reported to be in financial ruin.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CMLL saw a title change last night</strong>, as Dr. Wagner Jr. defeated Hector Garza and El Hijo del Santo for the NWA World Middleweight Championship. El Hijo del Santo managed eighteen successful title defences prior to this defeat.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;"><em>Comments: The Brian Pillman incident happened in real life, however with different consequences than in this timeline. Since he eventually was cleared of any wrongdoing.</em></span></p>

The American Males & The Booty Man vs. The Stud Stable © w/ Col. Parker

In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, The Stud Stable (Steve Williams, Terry Gordy and Kurasawa) defeated underdog trio The Booty Man and The American Males (Marcus Bagwell and Scotty Riggs) in 8:26 when Steve Williams defeated Scotty Riggs by pinfall with a Backdrop Driver. Kurasawa and Miracle Violence Connection make defence number 8 of their WCW World Six-Man Tag Team titles.

A video promoting the Fire and Ice vs. Miracle Violence Connection match at Slamboree is aired.

The powerhouse duo Fire and Ice (Ice Train and Scott Norton) is an "Unstoppable Force". They are stronger and they hit harder than every other tag team in WCW.

Their opponents; "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy known as Miracle Violence Connection is a established top team that previously have won the WCW World Tag Team titles as well as dominating and winning tag team titles in Japan.

Loud pop for the TV champion Rick Martel...

<iframe width="300" height="169" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HEKUG_HpYLk" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

"Lord" Steven Regal is a stereotypical British gentleman with a mean streak. He is looking at the crowd with utterly disgust, while making his entrance together with his new manager Aloysius Hayes. The aristocratic Lord Alfred Hayes’ nephew Aloysius is wearing a bow tie, a frilly shirt, a cricket paddle; and is talking in a sneering aristocratic English accent.

Rick Martel vs. Steven Regal w/ Aloysius Hayes

The aggressive blue blood may look like the proper gentleman in his spotless cravat and houndstooth blazers, but he is one of the toughest men in wrestling history.

In a hard-hitting match, "Lord" Steven Regal dominates with brutal submission holds and stiff brawling, while the hot tempered technician Rick Martel gets huge pop for his heroic comeback segments.

Regal has just locked Martel in the Regal Stretch, when the time limit expired.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Rick Martel drew with Steven Regal in 15:00 when the time limit expired.

During the match we also had Aloysius Hayes constantly trying to distract Rick Martel.
