NXT WRESTLING (1997)

Backstory-

After the Montreal Screwjob, Vince McMahon & his son, Shane McMahon have an arguement. Shane is furious at his father for screwing over his most loyal employee and one of the best pro-wrestlers in the world, Bret Hart. During the argument, Vince tells Shane that he doesn't know what it's like doing business in the world of pro-wrestling. To which Shane replies, let him do it. Shane wants to run a company, a wrestling promotion, to show his father that he can do it in a better way. Vince reluctanly gives $100,000 to his son and tells him to run a wrestling promotion to see for himself that it's like in the pro-wrestling world.

The very next day, NXT Wrestling is founded.

Notes:

- NXT Wreslting is based on Tri-State and has 25 popularity in Tri-State.

- Product is rated more on performance that popularity, with Traditional & Mainstream - Heavy, Modern & Pure - Medium.

- I made World Wrestling Alliance (trading only) with WWF, NXT & ECW. (ECW was in working relationship with WWF.)

- I changed Kevin Kelly's Excl.PPV contract to PPV to get him as announcer. I also change few ECW guys with Excl.PPV contracts to PPV. (Bubba, D-Von, Spike, Al Snow, Justin Credible, Jerry Lynn, Lance Storm & Tommy Dreamer)

- In game, we also got working relationships with ECW, OMEGA and ECWA.

Interesting stuff. A lot of the non-tag team titles/singles titles stuff feels kind of empty because nothing is really going on but I guess you're setting the stage for future storylines when the Dudleys/Sean/Al/Tommy start spreading away from each other.

I enjoy the concept, it'll be cool to see this go on for a while and you just shuffling through the next brightest talent. Though I guess none of these guys can head off to WWF if you guys have a working agreement which kind of sucks.

Really hope the next TEW lets you play as a developmental company.

We don't have working agreement with WWF. We are only in an alliance(trade only) with them. We have working agreements with ECW, OMEGA(Hardy's promotion) and ECWA. So WWF can steal our workers if they want to but not the ECW guys of our roster as ECW has a working agreement with WWF. Other young guys like E&C, Hardyz have very low overness, so I don't think WWF will sign them right away.

Playing as a developmental company probably will be really hard as the top stars get called up.

NXT 5

Week 4, February 1998

- Shane & Sean Morley are in the ring. Shane says the last show didn't go according to their plan. As Shane was attacking Tommy Dreamer, Sean Morley should have beat Al Snow and retain the NXT World Championship. But Shane's attack distracted Sean and Al stole the championship, which is even worse than Tommy winning the championship. So tonight, they are going to make things right. Al Snow will be defending the NXT World Championship against Sean Morley and there will also be a #1 contender match for NXT World Championship which will not include Tommy Dreamer. 61

- #1 contender match: Sabu defeated Jerry Lynn & Lance Storm in 16 mins. 81

Sabu becomes the #1 contender for NXT World Championship.

- Sabu celebrates his victory. He gets a mic and says he doesn't care who wins the championship tonight. He will be bringing the extreme in NXT after winning the NXT World Championship. 62

- The Island Boys(Ekmo & Kimo) defeated Ron Killings & Steve Corino in 8 mins. 42

- Rock n Roll Express come out with mics in hand. They say last show The Dudley Boyz used the ropes to retain their titles. Any team that uses such illegal tactics should not be champions and are definetly not the greatest tag team in the world. That brings out The Dudley Boyz. The Dudley Boyz are willing to give Rock n Roll Express another shot at their titles in the next show to prove that they are the better team. Shane comes out and makes the match official. But tonight, D-Von will be going one on one against Ricky Morton and that match is next. 51

- D-Von defeated Ricky Morton in 8 mins after Bubba Ray caused a distraction attacking Robert Gibson. 50

- Jamie Noble & Kaz Hayashi defeated Hardy Boyz in 8 mins. 62

- The Suicide Blondes defeated Spike & Justin Credible in 8 mins. 64

- NXT World Championship: Al Snow defeated Sean Morley in 20 mins after Tommy Dreamer caused a distraction, attacking Shane McMahon. 63

Al Snow makes defence number 1 of the NXT World Championship.

- Al Snow, yet again, gets the better of Sean Morley. As Al celebrates, Tommy Dreamer gets in the ring and congratulates Al. Tommy, then, mocks Shane & Morley from the ring as they walk back furious. 60

Show Rating - 54 (production penalty)

Notes:

- The Island Boys make their debut. They are not over and average in ring. A lot of work needed there.

- Just signed Shawn Stasiak. He has decent popularity in USA.

- Ron Killings and Steve Corino will be leaving NXT in few days.

- Jeff Hardy suffered a minor injury & will be out for 21 days.

- Sabu vs Lance Storm vs Jerry Lynn is the highest rated match (82) in NXT's (short) history.

<p><strong>NXT 6</strong></p><p>

Week 2, March 1998</p><p> </p><p>

- Shane & Sean Morley are in the ring. Shane says when this 'feud' started, it was nothing personal. He did what he had to do for the good of his company, do what was the best for business. But last show, Tommy Dreamer stuck his nose where it didn't belong, in the main event, where he cost the title for Sean. That made it personal, very personal. He says they will make Tommy's life a living hell. <strong>64</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- Sean Morley defeated Spike in 6 mins. <strong>49</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- The Island Boys defeated The Suicide Blondes in 8 mins. <strong>61</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- <strong>NXT Tag Team Championship:</strong> The Dudley Boyz defeated Rock n Roll Express in 16 mins after The Island Boys caused distraction to Ricky Morton. <strong>66</strong></p><p><strong>

- Tommy Dreamer & Matt Hardy defeated Jamie Noble & Kaz Hayashi in 8 mins. <strong>66</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- As other competitors return to the back, Tommy Dreamer grabs a mic. He says it might not have been anything personal for Shane & Morley, but when they screwed him in the 1st title match, it became personal for him. Then, Shane interfered in their triple threat match, causing him the title yet again. That made it even more personal. And if Shane makes his life hell, he's going to drag Shane down to hell with him. <strong>64</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- <strong>NXT World Championship:</strong> Sabu defeated Al Snow in 20 min. <strong>80</strong></p><p><strong>

Sabu wins the NXT World Championship.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- After an intense brawl, Sabu celebrates his well deserved win as Al Snow is helped to the back by referees and trainers. <strong>85</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Show Rating - 62</strong> (production penalty)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Notes:</p><p>

- Shawn Stasiak sucks.</p><p>

- Sabu vs Al Snow is our 2nd highest rated match. 1st being Sabu vs Jerry Lynn vs Lance Storm.</p><p>

- We are still continuing the Tommy vs Shane feud. We need at least two storylines, other being tag team championship feud.</p><p>

- Jeff Hardy was still injured for 2 more days.</p>

Morley tells Shane to book a tag match against Sabu and Dreamer. Shane thinks that is a good idea and makes it official.<strong> Tonight's main event is Al Snow & Sean Morley vs Sabu & Tommy Dreamer. </strong><strong>63</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The Suicide Blondes win the NXT Tag Team Championship.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- The bell rings and The Dudley Boyz realise that they just lost their tag titles. As The Blondes celebrate, The Dudley Boyz attack them. <strong>D-VON! GET THE TABLES!</strong> They lay Adam Copeland on the table and powerbomb Christian Cage on top of Adam. <strong>50</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- Lance Storm defeated Jeff Hardy in 8 mins. <strong>75</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- Sabu & Tommy Dreamer defeated Al Snow & Sean Morley in 20 mins when Shane accidently hit Sean Morley. <strong>75</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- Shane's interference backfired yet again as he accidently hit Sean Morley, costing him the match. Shane tries to explain Sean what happened, Sean walks out in frustration. <strong>67</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Show Rating - 63</strong> (production penalty)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Notes:</p><p>

- I am trying to think of more feuds. All suggestions regarding feuds and signings are welcomed.</p><p>

<p><strong>NXT 11</strong></p><p>

Week 4, May 1998</p><p> </p><p>

- Shane and William Regal are in the ring. Shane introduces everyone to the newest & biggest member of NXT, William Regal, formerly known as Steven Regal in WCW. Shane says Tommy Dreamer might have forgotton when he said he is going to make Tommy's life hell, but he remembers. And he meant it. He announces Regal will be getting a title shot tonight for his good work last show. He says Tommy has not arrive in the show yet and if he's smart, he won't. Shane says NXT Tag Team Championship match is up next. That brings out The Suicide Blondes. They say they are not ready for the rematch as they are clearly not ready for The Dudley Boyz. They want to get some more experience before they challenge The Dudley Boyz again. Shane says he respects that. And when The Blondes are ready, they just need to ask for it. <strong>62</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- The Suicide Blondes defeated (debuting) Crowbar & James Storm in 8 mins. <strong>50</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- The camera follows Beulah as she finds Jerry Lynn. She asks if Lynn has anything to say about the The Blondes giving up their tag title rematch. Lynn wishes The Blondes luck and hopes to see them challenging The Dudley Boyz again. Lynn says as there is no contender for the tag team championship, he wants a shot against The Dudley Boyz, who walk into the frame. They say just because he beat them in a six man tag match, doesn't get him a tag title shot. Jerry is just not a tag team specialist like them. Jerry says he might not be tag specialist but he can kick both their butts in singles matches. The Dudleyz laugh and say <strong>if Jerry beats both of them in singles match, then he gets a tag title shot.</strong> <strong>68</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- The Island Boys defeated Spike & Shawn Stasiak in 8 mins. <strong>48</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- After the match, The Island Boys grab a mic each and cut a promo on The Suicide Blondes. They call The Blondes pathetic and weak. - Kaz Hayashi defeated Justin Credible in 10 mins. <strong>68</strong></p><p> </p><p>

(Lance Storm and Hardy Boyz have been feuding lately after Lance told Hardy Boyz to do it 'old school' way instead of jumping around. He offered to teach them a wrestling lesson, which Jeff accepted. After seeing Lance beat his brother, Matt decided he wants a lesson for himself as well. In his match against Lance, the Hardy Boyz used their number advantage to steal a win from Lance. Matt and Lance had their rematch in the next show. Hardy Boyz used the same tactic to yet again beat Lance. Lance called them out for cheating and challenged them for a tag team to even the number advantage of Hardy Boyz, which was accepted by the Hardy Boyz. Tonight, Hardy Boyz will be facing Lance Storm and a partner of his choice.)</p><p> </p><p>

- Hardy Boyz are in the ring waiting for Lance Storm and his partner. Lance comes out and says he brought a partner who is almost as 'old school' as him, Jamie Noble. <strong>41</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- As the bell rings, Bubba realises that his distraction just cost D-Von the match and gets in the ring. Before Bubba can get to him, Jerry Lynn escapes and mock The Dudley Boyz as Bubba checks on D-Von. <strong>66</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- <strong>NXT World Championship:</strong> Sabu defeated William Regal in 20 mins when Tommy Dreamer's attack on Shane caused a distraction for Regal. <strong>78</strong></p><p><strong>

Sabu makes defence number 3 of the NXT World Championship.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

- The bells rings but the action doesn't stop as Tommy Dreamer continues his assault on Shane. Referees and trainers come out to get Tommy away from Shane but they fail. It's a shame Lance and Matt have bad chemistry because I'd have been into a Clash of Styles type storyline.

Serious and technical Lance Storm vs Reckless and High Flying Hardyz.

I might redo that feud after I get few more technicians and after Hardyz get a bit more over.
