If it was any indication of what to expect for their match at Showdown At Sundown, then they could really steal the show there. However, that fast-paced action was distinctly different from what the match became once CZCW Xtreme Champion Jack Avatar squared off with his challenger Fro Sure. When it became apparent that Fro Sure wasn't going to be able to just out-wrestle Avatar, he resorted to brawling and even some uncharacteristically dirty tactics, such as choking and eye gouging. Eventually, Fro Sure and Avatar ended up outside the ring, where Fro Sure took the advantage and hit the "Sure Thing" (Piledriver) on Avatar. Luckily for Avatar though, it was just on the protective matting and not the exposed concrete. As Fro Sure rolled back into the ring, Elemental II tried to help his partner get back in, but he was stopped by Kamikaze, giving the challengers the count out victory at 15:28.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners: Kamikaze & Fro Sure by countout</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 81</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YFYc5OT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YFYc5OT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45557" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="kjFGbpZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/kjFGbpZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="qxN4T9c.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qxN4T9c.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">VS.</span></strong><img alt="TXYfd9M.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TXYfd9M.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="mEcuOdb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mEcuOdb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <strong><span style="font-size:12px;">"Legion" Scythe & Bear Bekowski vs. Going Coastal</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> This was Scythe's first true in-ring action in a month, obviously excluding his Casket "match" with Colossus at Hardcore Halloween, and it was Bekowski's Coast To Coast wrestling debut. Actually, there wasn't really much "wrestling" in this one, with Scythe and Bekowski opting for the brute force route instead. They tossed Frankie-Boy Fernandes from post to post, only letting up long enough to give him some false hope of being able to make a tag, then stopping him just short to abuse him some more. When they were finally tired of toying with him, they let him go to his corner for a tag. California Love Machine apparently wasn't interested in sharing his partners fate though, so he shockingly jumped off the apron and made a quick exit through the crowd. This left poor Fernandes to endure the remaining punishment alone, before Bekowski finished him with the "Bear Trap" (Bear Hug/ Overhead Belly-To-Belly Suplex Combo) at 10:19.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners: "Legion" Scythe & Bear Bekowski</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 75</strong></p><p> </p><p> As soon as the bell rang, Akima Brave charged towards the ring. Spade, having seen enough by that point, physically attacked Pryce and the two brawled to the back. A former 3 time TCW Tag Team Champion, who once held those titles for nearly 18 months, he isn't someone to be taken lightly, no matter how far past his prime he may be. Gauge dodged that potential trap in this one, by going full throttle from the opening bell. He really showed himself to be a student of the game too, targeting Hill's neck, which was badly injured earlier in his career. Eventually though, he turned his focus to the legs and lower back, finally locking in the Proton Lock (Sharpshooter) for the submission victory at 12:39.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: Greg Gauge</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 81</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YFYc5OT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YFYc5OT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45557" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="0j2JIqU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0j2JIqU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">VS.</span></strong><img alt="GX9xHZD.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/GX9xHZD.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Darryl Devine vs. Ernest Youngman</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> In a dream match for some, and certainly a PPV worthy main event for anyone's tastes, Devine and Youngman put on a great match here. While Youngman focused on hard strikes and various innovative throws, Devine played it a little safer, showing off his superior tactical mind by choosing to work on Youngman's right leg, weakening his base and the very leg that he uses for his finisher, "The Hit". After a long, and fairly even battle, wrestling fans everywhere were robbed of a proper conclusion to this one, when Marvel Malloy interjected himself, attacking Youngman from behind with a chair to hand him a win by disqualification at 18:43.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: Ernest Youngman by DQ</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 89</strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="KTUfJa7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KTUfJa7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> After the match, Malloy continued his assault on Youngman, pinpointing the leg that Devine had just spent the entire match working over. Just when it seemed Malloy was about to stop, he closed the chair around Youngman's right leg and climbed up to the middle turnbuckle. Luckily, before he could jump off and crush Youngman's leg, Devine recovered to make the save, knocking Malloy off the middle turnbuckle and over the top to the outside to end the show.</p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Updated Prediction Standings:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Rhyme1234:<strong>35</strong></p><p> Smurphy1014:<strong>34</strong></p><p> BigJay2003:<strong>13</strong></p><p> 123Kidd: <strong>7</strong></p><p> theheel: <strong>5</strong></p><p> BHK1978: <strong>4</strong></p>

These types of finishes are a staple of wrestling and as such will occasionally be featured in this diary. With "</em><em><strong>Option C</strong></em><em>" on the table predictors will always have a chance to make a correct guess, whether the match has a clear winner or not. Frantic Ali does not suffer fools easily though, and quickly took advantage of Malloy's cockiness, using his superior brawling ability to beat and batter Malloy in the early going of this one. Malloy is too good to stay down for long though, and he came roaring back with some high-flying offense, nearly getting the pin with a Corkscrew Crossbody off the top rope. Once he'd fully regained control, Malloy's superior attitude started to show once more, as he taunted Ali at every available instance. The conclusion of the match came though, when he began to loudly taunt Ernest Youngman, ironically calling him a coward, and guaranteeing that his reign as American Champion was about to come to an end. Suddenly, Youngman's theme music hit and startled Malloy. Youngman didn't actually make an appearance, but Malloy was distracted just long enough for Ali to hit a Death Valley Driver and pick up the victory. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: Frantic Ali</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 73</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YFYc5OT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YFYc5OT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45557" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:18px;">CZCW Xtreme Championship - No Holds Barred - Falls Count Anywhere</span></span></strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="brgzr2o.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/brgzr2o.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">VS.</span></strong><img alt="1oQTyyQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/1oQTyyQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <strong><span style="font-size:12px;">© Jack Avatar vs. Masked Patriot</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Once again, CZCW Xtreme Champion Jack Avatar refused to use weapons in a no holds barred match. One of the least "hardcore" hardcore matches in wrestling history, but a pretty good wrestling match overall. Eventually though, Brave's in-ring experience began to show as he took control of the match by reversing a Piledriver attempt. Once the match was over, everyone was still just as clueless. There were no shenanigans from either man towards his partner. There were no moments of one-upmanship between the two men either. They simply wrestled the match like any "regular" team would have, tagging out as needed and offering each other an occasional word, or cheer, of encouragement. Heartbreak and Miyake, both pegged as future "superstars", have shown themselves to be a formidable team in recent undercard matches, despite their very different in-ring styles. That recent experience as a team didn't really help them on this night though, as Elemental and Kamikaze got a fairly easy win in just under ten minutes with a Reverse 450 Splash from Kamikaze to Miyake.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners: American Elemental II & Kamikaze</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 76</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YFYc5OT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YFYc5OT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45557" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="FFWO079.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/FFWO079.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><strong><span style="font-size:24px;">VS.</span></strong><img alt="NJ4mEK8.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NJ4mEK8.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> <strong><span style="font-size:12px;">Spencer Spade vs. Price Pryce</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Unlike last week, neither man's partner was ringside for this one, and the match fared better for it. Spade had the size advantage here and used it to great benefit, controlling the tempo of the match with a ground based offense, effectively limiting Pryce's flashy, aerial repertoire. Spade has charisma to burn, and the fans were mostly in his corner throughout this one. However, once Pryce got a little momentum going and connected with a few of his more eye-popping moves, the crowd went from pro-Spade to neutral, with many fans cheering the talented, but "heel" Pryce. Despite those shining moments from Pryce, the champs would win this second battle as well, with Spade hitting the "Supreme Stunner" (RKO) out of nowhere for the pin at 14:58. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: Spencer Spade</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 83</strong></p><p> </p><p> After the match, Spade offered a handshake to Pryce as he could be heard saying "good match." This drew a smile from Pryce and he went in for the shake, but he stopped suddenly, slapping Spade's hand away and then making a quick exit to a chorus of boos.</p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YFYc5OT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YFYc5OT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45557" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="PnzmqSY.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PnzmqSY.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Back from the night's final commercial break and Greg Gauge is in the ring.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Gauge:</strong> <em>It's time Darryl, and all I've really got to say is, good luck! Heck, Killer Shark would be a handful for most tag teams. Devine obviously knew this, and spent the first 5 minutes of this match employing a "hit and run" technique. Unfortunately for him, those "hits" never phased Shark and really only served to make him even angrier than he appears by default. So once Shark got his hands on him, Devine was lucky to make it out alive. Surely Devine had never been so easily manhandled in his career, probably suffering as much damage in 3 minutes at the hands of Shark as he would in a 20 minute match with anyone else. If Shark was interested in actually winning, instead of just thrashing his opponent, he could have won this match at any time. Instead, it was Devine who would get the win by disqualification, when Shark attacked referee Francis Long for trying to break up a choke hold in the corner, forcefully tossing Long nearly across the ring.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: Darryl Devine by DQ</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 81</strong></p><p> </p><p> The fact that the match was officially over was of little consequence to Shark, who continued to demolish Devine, hitting his "Big Bite" finisher (Military Press Spinebuster) not once, but twice. <div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">AUTHORS NOTE:</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> I've been pondering on making a change to this dynasty for a week or so now, and I've finally decided to go through with it.</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> I really enjoy writing this, but at times, as anyone who's done one of these for any length of time will tell you, it can begin to feel more like work than fun. In an attempt to remedy that, and in an attempt to get shows posted faster, I've decided to do shorter match write-ups and to stop using worker pics for TV episodes. PPVs however, will keep the old format/style. </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> I may still use the occasional worker pic on TV for important debuts and things of that sort and I will still be doing longer match write-ups for more important TV matches, such as title matches, or just matches where I otherwise feel they're necessary. I will also still be doing full promos for TV when/if they're called for. At other times promos will just be basic summaries. </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> Also, the preview/prediction posts for upcoming TV shows will be a lot more basic whenever possible, as I figure anyone who's actually following along wouldn't need as much of a reminder about what happened previously. Mitico is a prideful man though, a fourth generation star with wrestling in his blood, to him any championship is worthy of respect. This was a good back and forth match, with Mitico using lots of chain and mat wrestling, and Wildside going deep into his playbook of over the top moves, including the rarely seen Spanish Fly from the top rope. Unfortunately for Wildside, that wasn't enough to keep Mitico down. Neither was Wildside's finisher, the "Fear Factor" (Diving Double Foot Stomp). It really looked like Wildside had finally ran into a challenger he couldn't get past. That is, until he reversed Mitico's Northern Lights Suplex finisher into a DDT and set up for a second "Fear Factor". As he made his way to the top rope, Felipe Caballero suddenly ran towards the ring. Wildside spotted him though and quickly jumped to the arena floor, before sprinting through the crowd to escape. Mitico wins the match by count out, but doesn't win the title.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winner: El Mitico Jr. by Count Out</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 85</strong></p><p> </p><p> After the match, Caballero and Mitico momentarily exchange some heated words, with Mitico no doubt upset at Caballero for costing him a chance to win the title by scaring off Wildside. The Ring Generals certainly deserve some of the credit for that, but it was mostly due to the inevitable implosion of the Elemental, Kamikaze duo. Elemental was taking a beating from both Waldorf and Statler but refused to tag out. By the time he finally had no choice, Kamikaze was so fed up that he refused the tag, instead flipping his partner off and leaving him to the Generals. Malloy was able to ignore it this time though and stay focused on the man in the ring with him, Jack Avatar. However, the finish to the match didn't involve Malloy. Despite having a severe limp from Malloy's attack two weeks ago, Youngman was able to hit the ring and attack the still unsuspecting Malloy. Before things could go too far though, the two were separated by CZCW officials. </p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="YFYc5OT.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/YFYc5OT.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="45557" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><p> Back from commercial break and everyone's least favorite person ever, Masked Stranger, is standing proudly in the ring. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Stranger:</strong> <em>I know that no one around here likes me and I've learned to live with that. It continued when, despite the fact that Shark was single handedly dominating both the CZCW Champion <em>and</em> the # 1 contender, Stranger tagged himself in. This allowed Devine to cover Stranger for the three count. </p><p> </p><p> <strong>Winners: Darryl Devine & Greg Gauge</strong></p><p><strong> Match Grade: 87</strong></p><p> </p><p> The instant referee Francis Long's hand hit the mat for the third time, Shark climbed back into the ring and went after Devine. Caballero has attempted to get some revenge ever since, but Wildisde always finds a way out while taking minimal, if any damage. Can he escape again, this time with the title?</p><p> </p><p> Next, it will be Jack Avatar putting his CZCW Xtreme Championship on the line against Fro Sure. Ever since the "powers that be" decreed that the Xtreme Title's name would actually mean something again, and would be contested with no holds barred and falls count anywhere rules going forward, Avatar has refused to play along. He's refused to use any weapons or normally illegal moves, and has made every effort to keep the match in the ring. This hasn't went over well with the fans, and it definitely isn't sitting well with his # 1 contender Fro Sure, who has guaranteed that Avatar won't walk out of Showdown At Sundown with the title unless he "gets extreme". At first it was just words between the two, but it turned physical on the last episode of Coast to Coast when Fro Sure laid out Avatar with a steel chair, causing him to be pinned in a 6-man tag team match. Will this act of aggression force Avatar's hand at Showdown At Sundown or can Avatar escape with his title while still insisting on playing by the rules? Or will Fro Sure's guarantee become a reality?</p><p> </p><p> The high-flying CZCW Pacific Champion American Elemental II defends his championship against fellow high-flier, and former friend, Kamikaze. After winning a fatal four way to become the # 1 contender, Kamikaze and Elemental shocked everyone when they began teaming up. It went well the first time, with neither man giving any indication that there was anything to it more than a mutual respect. However, the second time didn't go nearly as smoothly. The trouble started when a stubborn Elemental tried to play "hero ball" by refusing to tag in Kamikaze when The Ring Generals were getting the better of him. It ended when Elemental had no choice but to make a tag and Kamikaze refused, flipping his partner off and leaving him to be finished off by Dean Waldorf. The only question is, can Kamikaze finish off Elemental too?</p><p> </p><p> Long before Marvel Malloy won the CZCW American Championship from Ernest Youngman at Hardcore Halloween, the two men had been at odds, mostly due to Malloy's ever increasing dirty tactics. Things got even worse after Malloy won the title, with him attacking Youngman and basically attempting to cripple him by crushing his knee with a steel chair. Luckily for Youngman, Darryl Devine was able to stop the attack. Youngman got a little revenge with some mind games, costing Malloy a match against Frantic Ali and then attacking him after a match last week after being disguised as a fan at ringside. CZCW officials broke it up though, so Youngman didn't get the chance to finish what he started. He'll get that opportunity at Showdown At Sundown though, and Malloy better be prepared for a fight.</p><p> </p><p> Legion selected Akima Brave as their next target last month, mauling him backstage. Under the assumption that they were still tag partners after their failed attempt at challenging Double Feature for the Tag Titles, Brave got Bulldozer Brandon Smith mixed up in the whole thing by challenging Scythe and Bear Bekowski to a tag match at Showdown At Sundown. Smith paid for Brave's assumption dearly, when he reluctantly tried to save Brave from a chokeslam on the steel ramp by Scythe, but suffered the fate himself instead. Neither Brave nor Smith have been seen since the attack and rumors are swirling that neither man will be ready to compete. Their absence never stopped Scythe from sending an ominous message their way on the most recent episode of Coast to Coast though, when he warned them "the past is never where you left it!"</p><p> </p><p> The CZCW Tag Team Championship will be contested also, when long-time Champions Double Feature, defend against The Pryce is Wright. An impressive victory in a # 1 contender triple threat tag team match that also involved 5-time CZCW Tag Champs The Masked Cats, earned Prince Pryce and Robbie Wright the shot. In singles competition against Spade and Remus on subsequent episodes of Coast To Coast however, Pryce and Wright showed themselves to be a little overmatched, losing both matches. Once they got back together in a 6-man tag match with Double Feature on the other side though, they proved themselves to be worthy challengers after all, having little trouble sustaining success against either man in that environment. Will Pryce and Wright be able to duplicate that success with the titles on the line, or will Double Feature prove that their one on one victories were just a sign of things to come? </p><p> </p><p> Finally, in the main event, it will be CZCW Champion "Mighty Fine" Darryl Devine defending once more against the second generation star, Greg Gauge. After Devine successfully defended against Gauge at Reach For The Sky in a Ladder Match, Gauge complained that it didn't prove anything and only a straight up wrestling match would. So at Hardcore Halloween they had just such a match, which ended in a time-limit draw, with Devine holding on in Gauge's Proton Lock for nearly 3 minutes without submitting, just long enough for the limit to expire. After the match, with Gauge convinced he had actually won, things got a little out of hand. Gauge attacked the referee and the ring announcer before taking the ring bell in with the intention of clocking Devine. He thought better of it though and that, along with an apology for his actions, earned him the respect of Devine, and another shot at the title for Showdown At Sundown. From there, a seemingly innocuous challenge from Devine for Gauge to face a mystery opponent, led to something neither man could have imagined. After Devine brought in his old friend Brent Hill to face Gauge, in a losing effort, Gauge reciprocated the challenge for Devine to face a mystery opponent the next week. That mystery opponent turned out to be Killer Shark and that's when things really got out of control. Shark was disqualified for attacking the referee and seemed hellbent on ending Devine's career. When Gauge surprisingly decided to intervene on Devine's behalf, Shark attacked him too. The following week, Shark once again dominated both Devine and Gauge in a tag team match, a tag team match that ended with Shark destroying his own tag team partner, Masked Stranger. With both men being more than capable of holding the top prize for any company in the world, this match was already a toss up. Now, with the threat of Killer Shark looming for both men, who knows what might happen!</p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Match Card:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">CZCW Television Championship</span></p><p> © Sonny Wildside vs. Felipe Caballero</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">CZCW Xtreme Championship - No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere</span></p><p> © Jack Avatar vs. Fro Sure</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">CZCW Pacific Championship</span></p><p> © American Elemental II vs. Kamikaze</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">CZCW American Championship</span></p><p> © Marvel Malloy vs. Ernest Youngman</p><p> </p><p> "Legion" Scythe & Bear Bekowski vs. Akima Brave & Bulldozer Brandon Smith</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">CZCW Tag Team Championship</span></p><p> © Double Feature vs. The Pryce is Wright</p><p> </p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">CZCW Championship</span></p><p> © Darryl Devine vs. Greg Gauge</p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:#FFFFFF;">.</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Author's Note:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <em>For anyone predicting the shows, I would like to give you the option of choosing what I call "</em><em><strong>Option C,</strong></em><em>" for any of the matches. Is Devine the figurehead? I have rolled him into that role in a personal save and he did great work there.

I know it's kinda frowned upon here to bump a post if you don't have an update, but I'm so far behind schedule posting my next show that I felt it was necessary to let anyone reading know that it's still coming. Some real life things just got in the way, and along with a healthy dose of No Man's Sky and it's Next update, I just got a little distracted.

Anyway, I hope to have Showdown At Sundown posted by Friday afternoon.

PS

Hopefully admitting to playing No Man's Sky won't cost me any readers, lol. I know it's a fairly controversial game.

PSS

Thanks to everyone who has voted for me in the Diary of the Month poll!

CZCW: Showdown At Sundown

When: Wednesday, Week 1, November 2019

Where: San Diego, California

Attendance: 23,000

CZCW Television Championship

Caballero had waited weeks to really get his hands on Wildside and it showed. He was a house of fire in this one, going at Wildside full throttle from the opening bell. As a result, this was just about as one-sided as a championship match could possibly be, and it seemed like nothing would stop Caballero from taking the gold. When he connected with his Frog Splash finisher and made a cover, everyone in the arena was sure the match was over, but Wildside was just close enough to get a foot on the ropes to stop the count. So, Caballero drug Wildise to the center of the ring to ensure he couldn't get his foot on the rope a second time, and went up top again. Unfortunately for Caballero, Wildisde was able to roll out of the way of the second Frog Splash and to the outside. As Caballero writhed in pain in the ring, Wildside stumbled over to the ring announcer's table, grabbed his Television Title, made a "to hell with it" gesture towards the ring, and headed to the locker room as the referee counted him out.

Winner: Felipe Caballero by Countout

Match Grade: 82

©American Elemental II vs. Kamikaze

Before the bell rang for this one, Kamikaze asked for a mic.

Kamikaze: I just wanted to say I'm sorry that I walked out on you last week and I'm sorry that I flipped you off. When you refused to tag me in I took it as an insult, but that obviously wasn't your intention. You've actually just got the same problem as I do, you don't know when to quit and you're hesitant to admit defeat. But we were partners, and I had your back so there was no need for you to shoulder the burden all alone. So how about we put all that shit behind us and send these fans home with something to talk about?

Elemental agreed and the two shook hands as the bell rang.

Kamikaze, as he is known to do, threw caution to the wind in his attempt to win the Pacific Championship. Elemental followed suit, and the fans were treated to one hell of a high flying, spot-filled contest and with the way these two were flying around the ring, it was a miracle that neither man was injured. A different kind of injury was sustained at the end of the the match though, a bruised ego for Elemental as Kamikaze reversed an "American Earth Breaker" (Irish Curse Backbreaker) attempt into a Tilt-A-Whirl DDT. A quick trip to the top turnbuckle then led to a beautiful Reverse 450 Splash and the first title of Kamikaze's career.

Winner: Kamikaze

Match Grade: 85

After the match, an elated Kamikaze began to celebrate his first championship win. That victory celebration was cut very short though when an enraged American Elemental II got to his feet and blindsided Kamikaze. Elemental then proceeded to clock Kamikaze with his own newly won championship, before heading to the locker room with the title still in tow.

©Jack Avatar vs. Fro Sure

Fro Sure warned Jack Avatar that he would have to "get extreme" to walk out of San Diego with his Xtreme Championship, but Avatar stuck to his guns, never so much as feigning interest in using a weapon, dirty tactics, or taking the action outside of the squared circle. Fro Sure stuck to his guns too though, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Avatar, and he probably would have done that too if given the opportunity. Despite those advantages, Avatar just wouldn't seem to stay down. First, it seemed like the match was over when Fro Sure hit the "Sure Thing" Piledriver on Avatar, but Avatar somehow managed to kick out. Then, he put Avatar through the announce table with a diving elbow drop from the apron, but Avatar got a shoulder up once more. Next, he relentlessly beat Avatar with a Kendo stick, but Avatar kicked out yet again. Forcefully ramming Avatar shoulder first into the steel steps couldn't net Fro Sure a three count either. Frustrated, Fro Sure set up for his "Sure Thing" Piledriver onto a steel chair. Avatar managed to escape though and hit his "All American Slam" (Olympic Slam) onto the steel chair instead. Fro Sure showed the same resilience as Avatar had shown so far though, and kicked out just before three himself. Now, it was Avatar who seemed frustrated. Not because Fro Sure had kicked out of his finisher. No, he seemed to be upset at the fact that Fro Sure had landed on the steel chair during the move. He began to murmur to himself, before violently kicking the chair under the bottom rope. By this point Fro Sure had gotten back up and he clotheslined Avatar from behind, knocking him over the top rope and onto the ring apron. Fro Sure then joined him, and in a moment of deja vu, delivered his "Sure Thing" Piledriver onto the apron. Avatar spilled to the arena floor and Fro Sure rolled off to cover him for the three count, winning the championship the same way he had won the # 1 contender Battle Royal to get the title shot.

Winner: Fro Sure

Match Grade: 85

© Marvel Malloy vs. Ernest Youngman

Youngman may have finally gotten a little hands-on revenge against Malloy on Coast To Coast this week, but he was still no where near 100% for this one. Malloy's attempt to take out the right knee of Youngman a few weeks back, still had Youngman limping pretty severely, and despite a quick adrenaline fueled flurry by Youngman to open the match, Malloy quickly took control by going after that same knee again. Youngman gave it absolutely everything he had, but in the end his knee just wouldn't hold up to the focused onslaught from Malloy, and the referee was forced to stop the match at 10:33 when Youngman could no longer stand.

Winner: © Marvel Malloy

Match Grade: 75

Authors Note:I hated to take the title off Youngman, but he really seems to have hit a popularity wall. A wall that's well below where it needs to be to move further up the card right now. Not to mention the fact that he just wasn't performing as well as I'd hoped as far as match grades. There will definitely be more to come of him in this dynasty, just maybe not at the top of the card unfortunately.

Scythe & Bear Bekowski vs. Akima Brave & Bulldozer Brandon Smith

Rumors were swirling that Brave and Smith wouldn't be able to compete here. Luckily, rumors is all they were, as both men showed up ready to fight, albeit a little worse for wear than they were when the match was initially signed. Since Brave was a little better off than Smith, he started the match with Bear Bekowski and the two put on an entertaining and hard-hitting brawl for a bit before Brave tagged in Smith. Instead of going for Bekowski though, Smith headed straight for Scythe, barreling into him and knocking him off the apron. As he followed him to the outside, a sudden explosion of fiery pyro shot up from all four ring posts. Scythe had warned Brave and Smith that "the past is never where you left it" and the meaning behind that became clear when Colossus, sporting a menacing new look, stomped towards the ring and attacked Smith.

Winner: Akima Brave & Bulldozer Brandon Smith by DQ

Match Grade: 79

With the match now over as a result of a disqualification, Scythe, Bekowski and the newest member of Legion, Colossus, were joined by Cerberus, and the four men laid waste to Brave and Smith. When it was done Scythe took to the mic with a simple message for Akima Brave.

kjFGbpZ.jpg

Scythe: Akima! A man who desires revenge....should dig two graves!

He laughed maniacally before continuing:

Scythe: Abandon all hope, ye who enter here!

©Double Feature vs. The Pryce is Wright

Spade and Remus had pretty much all the momentum coming into this one, and they continued that in the early going of this one. Spencer Spade started the match with Robbie Wright and it was all Spade, culminating in a double superkick that saw Spade give way to Roderick Remus. Remus couldn't keep it going for his team though, as Wright used a poke to the eye to escape his clutches and tag in Prince Pryce. Pryce then went on the offensive, using a nice mix of brawling and technical wrestling, with a few aerial moves sprinkled in for good measure, to put his team firmly in the driver's seat. Just as it had with Double Feature though, a tag to a fresh partner actually turned the match back in their opponents favor, when Wright was tagged in and immediately botched a suplex attempt, leading to a near fall for Remus. Remus then had his way with Wright for a bit, much like Spade did earlier in the match, and it appeared Double Feature was on their way to a fairly easy title defense. However, as Remus went for his "Remus Clutch" (Camel Clutch), Wright managed to get onto his knees before Remus could get it completely locked in, and roll backwards into a bridging pin for a sudden and shocking three count.

Winners: The Pryce is Wright

Match Grade: 86

©Darryl Devine vs. Greg Gauge

It was going to be difficult for these two to top their first two encounters, first at Reach For The Sky in September, and then at Hardcore Halloween last month. They were somehow able to though, in a match so flawlessly executed and perfectly paced, that it could be used as a measuring stick for all future wrestling matches. Unbelievably, it could have and should have been even better. But alas, it wasn't meant to be, and there was only one man to thank for that. Unsurprisingly, that man was Killer Shark.

OYTLdLF.jpg

Shark's aggression once again showed no bounds, as he attacked the very man who brought him to CZCW, Greg Gauge, ending this outstanding main event before it could reach a proper conclusion.

Winner: Greg Gauge by DQ

Match Grade: 100

The post-match scene was an all too familiar sight, as the broadcast ended with Killer Shark once again single-handedly dismantling both the CZCW Champion Darryl Devine and his # 1 contender Greg Gauge.
