Funakoshi, Shuzo Utagawa & Kyuichi Matsumoto vs The Partnership of Pain & Eikichi Itou</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A pretty entertaining six man tag match for the opener, BCG World champion Funakoshi and two young lions took on the BCG World Tag Team champions and rookie Itou, with Matsumoto picking up his first ever pinfall after almost two years with the promotion.</p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Funakoshi, Shuzo Utagawa and Kyuichi Matsumoto defeated Eikichi Itou and Partnership Of Pain in 10:29 when Kyuichi Matsumoto defeated Eikichi Itou by pinfall with a Matsumoto Murder Bomb.</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Bulldozer Brandon Smith & Naozane Goto vs Gidayu Katou & MUSCLE Serizawa</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Unusual pairings but two teams with plenty of power between the ropes, this was a physical, hard hitting match with former sumo competitor Goto hitting his finisher on Serizawa for the pin.</p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Bulldozer Brandon Smith and Naozane Goto defeated Gidayu Katou and MUSCLE Serizawa in 9:55 when Naozane Goto defeated MUSCLE Serizawa by pinfall with a Goto Slam.</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="mwL0z0W.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mwL0z0W.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Tournament Quarter Final</strong></p><p><strong>

Blast Ikoma vs Conner Threepwood</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Finally having found his footing in Japan, Conner Threepwood wrestled a solid match against one of BCG's top competitors in Blast Ikoma, who proved he's always dangerous when he defeated Threepwood to advance.</p><p>

<strong>In a good match, Blast Ikoma defeated Conner Threepwood in 13:53 by pinfall with a Northern Lights Bomb.</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Yoshinaka Taku vs Animal Harker</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

After losing the BCG National title to Bulldozer Brandon Smith, Yoshi Taku got a modicum of revenge by defeating Smith's American Demolition Mk.II partner in Harker in a strike heavy contest.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Yoshinaka Taku defeated Animal Harker in 7:45 by pinfall with a Full Nelson Bomb.</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Ray Snow vs Kiyotaka</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

After being held back by injury and double bookings, Ray Snow finally entered a BCG to prove the hype surrounding his name is real. Kiyotaka put up a decent fight but once he was hit with a Spinning Back Fist it was lights out for him.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Ray Snow defeated Kiyotaka in 10:49 by pinfall with a Spinning Back Fist.</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="IqChfad.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IqChfad.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Bunrakuken Torii vs Pavel Vanzycha</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Last of the quarter finals and the two men renewed hostilities following their match at The Lion Hunts. The outcome was not different this time either, as Torii beat Vanzycha and moved on to the semi finals, where he would be fighting against Yoshinaka Taku.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Bunrakuken Torii defeated Pavel Vanzycha in 15:55 by pinfall with a Spinning Forearm Smash.</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="sma3Die.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/sma3Die.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Blast Ikoma vs Ray Snow</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Ray Snow continued his dominant performance when he beat Blast Ikoma in just over ten minutes, securing a ticket to the finals and looking like he was well on his way to winning the entire tournament.</p><p>

<strong>In a good match, Ray Snow defeated Blast Ikoma in 11:51 by pinfall with a Spinning Back Fist.</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="At6zmyr.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/At6zmyr.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Bunrakuken Torii vs Yoshinaka Taku</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Almost a sybolic clash between BCG's present and future, this match was hindered by the bad timing these two competitors seem to have when facing each other but was nonetheless a solid bout, with Taku defeating Torii fourteen minutes into the match.</p><p>

<strong>In a good match, Yoshinaka Taku defeated Bunrakuken Torii in 14:04 by pinfall with a Full Nelson Bomb.</strong></p><p><strong>

Motoyuki Miyake © vs Toshinobu Taku</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

After having paid his dues, Motoyuki Miyaka finally captured his first title in the Challengers Series and this was his second successful defense in a "passing of the torch" match against veteran Toshinobu Taku.</p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Motoyuki Miyake defeated Toshinobu Taku in 9:31 by pinfall with a Knock Out Kick. Motoyuki Miyake makes defence number 2 of his BCG Challengers Series title.</strong></p><p><strong>

The opening six man tag match saw former ACPW talent "Kick Ass" Kirk Drury team up with fellow Westerners Vanzycha and Snow to form a dangerous team against Blast Ikoma and his rookie partners Serizawa and Matsumoto. Some back and forth action to get the fans going, the finish was actually all about Matsumoto who finally got to hit his Matsumoto Murder Bomb [Top Rope Powerbomb] finisher on Drury and pull off his first ever pinfall victory in a Black Canvas Grappling ring.</p><p>

American Demolition Mk. II vs Double K</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

First tag match of the night and even though it didn't have anything directly to do with the tag team titles, both teams saught to position themselves favourably in the chase. Smith's singles success seemed to have caused a rift with on-and-off teammate Harker, which at times led to some arguing that allowed Kiyotaka and Katou to seize the initiative Eventually, Gidayu Katou interrupted an American Demolition Mk. II argument with a Lariat that knocked Animal Harker out of the ring, while Kiyotaka caught Smith in the middle of the ring with his dreaded Kimura. Smith fought off for as long as he could, but with nowhere to go and not much left in the tank, he eventually tapped out, thus granting Kiyotaka the right to challenge him for the BCG National title down the road.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Double K defeated American Demolition Mk.II in 13:48 when Kiyotaka defeated Bulldozer Brandon Smith by submission with a Kimura.</strong></p><p><strong>

BCG World Tag Team titles match</strong></p><p><strong>

Partnership of Pain © vs Threepwood & Goto</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Former stablemates in Coast to Coast, the two teams clashed yet again over the BCG World Tag Team titles after the champions won the first match at The Lion Hunts. Goto brought the power to match that of Matsushita and Brody, with neither man really being able to apply any submission hold on the former sumoka, a weakness made known in the past and one that cost him to lose one too many matches. Threepwood too was on point, getting the tag when a rival was already downed by Goto so he could jump on top and slap a submission hold. Brody tried to counter that with his agility but he came up empty on a springboard splash when Threepwood rolled aside to tag in Goto, who hit the Goto Slam for the pin to mark the end of his young lion status and win the gold for himself and Threepwood.</p><p>

BCG Challengers Series title match</strong></p><p><strong>

Motoyuki Miyake © vs Toshinobu Taku</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Miyake may have defeated Taku Sr. at Lionheart to make his second title defense, but this was the third crucial defense and it took place at BCG's grandest show of the year. Pressure was on the champion to deliver against the seasoned veteran who was no stranger to big matches. Toshi Taku's strikes were clinical, delivering maximum force to his opponent while exerting minimum stamina on himself. No stranger to strong style matches himself either, Miyake met the old timer blow for blow, eventually hitting him in the head with a Knock Out Kick for the pin. Once the match was over, Toshinobu Taku bowed towards all four sides of the ring, a final farewell to the fans that marked this as his final match with Black Canvas Grappling.</p><p>

<strong>In a good match, Motoyuki Miyake defeated Toshinobu Taku in 9:49 by pinfall with a Knock Out Kick.</strong></p><p><strong>

BCG World Heavyweight title match</strong></p><p><strong>

Funakoshi © vs Yoshinaka Taku</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The main event had a lot of backstory to it before the wrestlers even came out. Funakoshi had won the title and defended it for more than a year in a series of great matches against all comers. Yoshinaka Taku had slowly transitioned into being a singles wrestler away from the shadow of his father, who just had his final match moments ago. The two men had clashed for the first time exactly one year ago, with Taku earning the champion's respect despite failing to beat him. Yoshi had trained hard to find his way back into the spotlight. He had skipped the Yoshifusa Maeda Grand Prix because he and father Toshi won TagMania 4. He had won the Lionheart tournament and now he needed a miracle.</p><p> </p><p>

This was a textbook puroresu match. The wrestlers started by challenging each other to deliver their hardest strike, then took turns hitting the ropes trying to tackle each other. Eventually they grappled and traded holds back and forth. Funakoshi hit a huge suplex and kept the pressure on his challenger, mounting the fallen Taku immediately to keep him on the mat. Advantage lied with the champion, but Yoshi Taku took a chance and pulled off a headbutt that did as much damage to himself as it did to the champion. Still, the desperate move created some much needed separation that allowed the challenger to get back on his feet and chop Funakoshi's chest so hard the shots echoed across the Osaka Athletic Stadium. The attempt at a Full Nelson Bomb was reversed into a Butterfly Backbreaker, but Funakoshi hadn't applied the hold properly and Taku managed to escape just in time to avoid it. Grunting, Funakoshi tried to take of Taku's head with a short range lariat but the challenger ducked under it to slip behind the champ and lock in the Full Nelson. Mustering all his courage, Taku pulled and dropped Funakoshi with his finisher, himself falling on top for the dramatic three count. Three slaps later, the match was over, Yoshi Taku was champion and the best match ever produced by Black Canvas Grappling to date was over. Funakoshi bowed in recognition of the new champ's prowess, referee Hiroyuki Ueda hadned the BCG World Heavyweight title and Toshinobu Tau hit the ring to embrace his son and celebrate his victory, a crowning moment and true changing of the guard on the same night that he said his final goodbye.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Yoshinaka Taku defeated Funakoshi in 25:51 by pinfall with a Full Nelson Bomb.</strong></p><p><strong>

Yoshinaka Taku wins the BCG World title.</strong></p><p><strong>

If someone on my roster deserves to beat Funakoshi... it's Torii :D but for some reason he has terrible chemistry with every Main Eventer and Upper Midcarder

Between that and Blast Ikoma doing terrible in singles matches, I had to pull the trigger on Yoshi Taku before he wasted too many shots. At age 24, he's able to match my top performers already, so why not?

Black Canvas Updates

POBEZKK.jpg

No butterflies for the Bulldozer

BCG's latest Rise show ended in the worst possible way for National title holder Bulldozer Brandon Smith. Not only did American Demolition Mk.II lose their main event match against superstars Funakoshi and Yoshinaka Taku but Smith was also pinned by Funakoshi, meaning the former World champion has a legitimate claim to a match for Smith's title. To make matters worse for him, after getting hit with Funakoshi's Butterfly Backbreaker finisher, Smith was later diagnosed with severe back damage and will be taking some months off to heal. According to doctors, he is expected to return in February or even later than that, which not only pushes the date of his title match against Funakoshi but also means there is a very real possibility that American Demolition Mk.II may not be competing in next year's TagMania V tournament if Smith isn't back soon enough.

Young Lion no more

Double K also had an excellent match in the semi main event, with Gidayu Katou catching Motoyuki Miyake with a decapitating lariat in the finish. His win did earn him a shot at Miyake's Challengers Series title but more important, it highlighted his status as no longer being another young lion in the pack. With Black Canvas Grappling's annual Anniversary show coming up this month, Katou will be wrestling Miyake for the title in the show's only title match.

Quadruple debut

The new three month tour season began with the debut of four new faces on the Black Canvas roster, all of which debuted in December's Rise show. Ray Snow's partner was introduced as Scott "Hammer" Hadley, an extremely muscular rookie from Florida who utilizes a similar 'strong style' approach to that of Snow. Less is known about Masao Takizawa, the youngster who joined Pavel Vanzycha, other than the fact that he is a graduate of the PGHW Dojo, as his textbook puroresu in-ring style would imply. Joining the current World Tag Team champions for the opening six man tag match was Tony "T-Bone" Bright, a heavyweight ex-football star turned wrestler who has already made an impression in his home country wrestling for California's IPW. Last but certainly not least was Logan Wolfsbaine, nephew of PGHW legend Raymond Diaz who also borrowed his uncle's last name for his appearances in Japan.

Taku, Threepwood & Goto vs Vanzycha, Brody & Matsushita</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The show's undercard kicked off with a pretty solid six man match as the Partnership of Pain teamed up with Pavel Vanzycha to take on the title holding team of BCG World champion Yoshinaka Taku and the BCG World Tag Team champions Threepwood & Goto. A good performance from every competitor involved and Vanzycha even seized his oppportunity to earn a title shot when he caught a distracted Taku with his Cross Armlock for the submission.</p><p>

Muscle Blasters vs Diazawa</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Much like their opponents, Logan Diaz and Masao Takizawa had this magic happen between them while teaming up, which means the match itself was much better than it had any right to be, especially considering how young and new to Japanese fans Diaz and Takizawa are. Muscle Blasters had the experience edge though and eventually Serizawa caught Takizawa with his finisher to score the pin.</p><p>

Kyuichi Matsumoto vs T-Bone Bright</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

After years at the very bottom of the Black Canvas food chain, Kyuichi Matsumoto has finally begun to rise and he continued his rise with another victory here over gaijin heavyweight T-Bone Bright. Perhaps still adjusting to the Japanese style, Bright seemed to be pretty off his game and was unceremoniously powerbombed to the turnbuckles with a Matsumoto Murder Bomb for the pin.</p><p>

Challengers Series title match</strong></p><p><strong>

Motoyuki Miyake © vs Gidayu Katou</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

If one match on the card encapsulated the evolution of Black Canvas Grappling, this was it. Former young lions now turned into proper competitors, Miyake and Katou delivered a rock solid performance that had fans on the edge of their seats until the champion hit the challenger with a Knock Out Kick.</p><p>

Funakoshi vs Animal Harker</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The semi main event was a highly personal issue, following Funakoshi's Butterfly Backbreaker at Rise a week prior that put Harker's American Demolition Mk.II partner on the shelf for several months with a back injury. Harker was hellbent for revenge as well as a victory over the former Black Canvas World champion, a situation that made his usual animalistic style even wilder. On the flipside, that also made him more reckless, meaning that Funakoshi had to withstand the onslaught and somehow find a way to use Harker's carelessness against him, which he did just short of the 15 minute mark to win the match with his dreaded finisher.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Funakoshi defeated Animal Harker in 14:14 by pinfall with a Butterfly Backbreaker</strong></p><p><strong>

Bunrakuken Torii vs Kiyotaka</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Much like the Challengers Series title match earlier, the marquee match was a celebration of the promotion's six year run, a showcase of how it's turned talented rookies like Torii and Kiyotaka into top-notch puroresu combatants. The match began with a mutual show of respect and off to the races we were, with the competitors pacing themselves as they gradually pushed each other with stiffer moves. Torii's signature machine gun chops left a mark on his opponent's chest that only got worse as the match progressed, while Kiyotaka was chasing Torii's limbs as he sought to limit the effectiveness of the man's offense while also softening him up for his feared Kimura lock. In the final minutes of the match, Kiyotaka ducked under a Spinning Forearm Smash only to grab the arm after but he couldn't slap on the hold proper and Torii escaped. During the second attempt, Kiyotaka wasn't so lucky and he caught the blow right to the chin, a knockout strike that put him down for the count as Torii picked up the win.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Bunrakuken Torii defeated Kiyotaka in 18:25 by pinfall with a Spinning Forearm Smash</strong></p><p><strong>

Double K & Shuzo Utagawa vs Threepwood, Goto & Bright</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Six man tag to open the show and two of BCG's top tag teams were involved with a chance for Double K to earn themselves a title shot if they managed to pin either Threepwood or Goto. T-Bone Bright was the one who got pinned in the end though, his somewhat sloppy performance exposing him to a decapitating Lariat from Katou who scored the pin.</p><p>

Diazawa vs Harker & Hadley</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Diaz and Takizawa had a chance to showcase their natural chemistry at BCG's 6 Year Anniversary show two weeks earlier, but Harker and Hadley somehow topped that in their first ever match together. Between Harker's wild brawling and Hadley's precision strong style, those two looked like they were engineered to team up and that had them control most of the match, especially near the end where Takizawa's stamina betrayed him and Harker was able to flatten him with a Stump Piledriver.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Harker & Hadley defeated Diazawa in 10:27 when Animal Harker defeated Masao Takizawa by pinfall with a Stump Piledriver.</strong></p><p><strong>

Chemistry isn't everything in tag team wrestling though and that's what this next match proved, as both teams had plenty of experience with each other on top of them being on the same page anyway, leading to a hard hitting bout that wrapped up the undercard.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Partnership Of Pain defeated Muscle Blasters in 9:31 when Giant Brody defeated MUSCLE Serizawa by pinfall with a Single Handed Choke Slam.</strong></p><p><strong>

BCG Challengers Series title match</strong></p><p><strong>

Not so long ago, Matsumoto stood at the very bottom of the BCG food chain, losing match after match. Few years later, he found himself in his first ever title match against fellow youngster Motoyuki Miyake. Despite a passable performance, Matsumoto seemed to break under the pressure of the big fight and Miyake had little trouble in controlling the match to mark his fifth title defense.</p><p>

<strong>In a decent match, Motoyuki Miyake defeated Kyuichi Matsumoto in 10:45 by pinfall with a Knock Out Kick.</strong></p><p><strong>

Three Way Elimination match</strong></p><p><strong>

Bunrakuken Torii vs Funakoshi vs Ray Snow</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Three top level competitors entered the ring for the semi main event, two former BCG World champions and the PGHW battle-hardened Ray Snow who sought to prove a point, hopefully even earn himself a chance to hold the prestigious title as well. Snow's technical style helped pace the match but his in-ring psychology seemed a bit lacking so it was up to Torii and Funakoshi to hold the match together with their hard hitting blows and unyieldable fighting spirit. Funakoshi was the one to come out on top when he hit the Butterfly Backbreaker to eliminate Torii, but the fight up to that point had taken a great toll on his body and he wasn't firing on all cylinders against Snow, who scored a major win for his resume once the final bell rang.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Ray Snow defeated Bunrakuken Torii and Funakoshi in an Elimination match in 16:05; the order of elimination was Bunrakuken Torii first, and then Funakoshi.</strong></p><p><strong>

Yoshinaka Taku © vs Pavel Vanzycha</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Taku and Vanzycha have clashed several times during the recent BCG tours which may have taken some excitement off the live crowd, but they've never faced each other for the top title yet. For all their familiarity, they still paced themselves and spent the better part of the first ten or so minutes testing the waters, well aware of the extended time limit available and the importance of the match that demanded a well thought-out strategy and flawless execution. Vanzycha pushed the young champion to his limits, taking the match past the twenty minute mark, but Taku was relentless in his pursuit of a good Full Nelson hold and once he finally managed to lock it in good, he hit his finisher to win and retain.</p><p>

<strong>In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Yoshinaka Taku defeated Pavel Vanzycha in 21:29 by pinfall with a Full Nelson Bomb.</strong></p><p><strong>

I want you to stock up. 2020 should find us debt-free and with a minimum of 250.000 in our accounts."</p><p> </p><p> I nodded and cracked my knuckles, as if I was physically going to wrestle with the finances. Time to turn in some profit...</p>

Vanzycha was a good fit from the start, but a tour with PGHW gave him the fine-tuning and popularity to jump to the main event. Same with Ray Snow, and before them Reynolds, Whitlock etc.</p><p> </p><p> I'm trying a new visual presentation, as you may have noticed. Also some changes to my booking style, but those should be a bit more subtle.</p>

Pavel Vanzycha, MUSCLE Serizawa & Eikichi Itou vs Hammer Hadley & Diazawa

Standard multi-man undercard match to start the show and warm up the fans, with Vanzycha keeping things together as the only veteran among all the young lions. Since he's the one who usually takes the pins in Muscle Blasters matches, Serizawa regained some much needed credibility here when he scored the pin over the greenest man in this match, Masao Takizawa.

In a decent match, Pavel Vanzycha, MUSCLE Serizawa and Eikichi Itou defeated Hammer Hadley and Diazawa in 10:29 when MUSCLE Serizawa defeated Masao Takizawa by pinfall with a MUSCLE Lariat.

Funakoshi & Jotaro Tanaka vs Kyuichi Matsumoto & Shuzo Utagawa

Similar setup for the following undercard match that cut things down to tag team action as the ace of BCG and his apparent young lion protege showed some great teamwork against the mix of intensity and technique their opponents brought to this match. By this point, it seems impossible for Funakoshi to have even a mediocre match but he took things futher by carrying his less experienced co-workers through a hidden gem of a match that put in an early candidacy for the night's show stealer, even if his team was the one who ended up losing to the revitalized Matsumoto.

In a decent match, Kyuichi Matsumoto and Shuzo Utagawa defeated Funakoshi & Tanaka in 11:11 when Kyuichi Matsumoto defeated Jotaro Tanaka by pinfall with a Matsumoto Murder Bomb.

Animal Harker & Ray Snow vs Bunrakuken Torii & Yoshinaka Taku

If the previous match raised the bar a bit too early, the participants in this one were all too happy to pick up the gauntlet and deliver an equally exciting performance. Textbook tag team action for over fifteen minutes and a much needed bounce back win for Torii, following his losses at Generations and Rise.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Yoshinaka Taku and Bunrakuken Torii defeated Animal Harker and Ray Snow in 16:12 when Bunrakuken Torii defeated Animal Harker by pinfall with a Spinning Forearm Smash.

BCG World Tag Team titles match

Threepwood & Goto © vs Partnership of Pain

The first title defense for Threepwood and Goto was against the former title holders as Brody and Matsushita got their rematch for the gold. This bout was way better than it had any right to be, between the hosses underselling each other's attacks and Threepwood's technical prowess getting somewhat lost in the mix. Regardless, both teams have a natural connection and much experience between them, on top of the four men being largely over with the BCG fans in Chubu, all of which helped overshadow any weaknesses and make this ten or so minute title match truly great.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Threepwood & Goto defeated Partnership Of Pain in 10:57 when Naozane Goto defeated Giant Brody by pinfall with a Goto Slam. Threepwood & Goto make defence number 1 of their BCG World Tag Team titles.

Blast Ikoma vs Gidayu Katou

Both men are mainly known as tag team wrestlers, so this singles match was a challenge as much as it was a test for them. Katou's warrior heart and power served him well in controlling most of the match, with Ikoma mostly doing comebacks using his trademark explosiveness for a suplex. In the end though it came down to ring IQ and experience, with the edge going to Ikoma as he outmaneuvered the impatient youngster to deliver his finisher and score the pin.

In a good match, Blast Ikoma defeated Gidayu Katou in 14:01 by pinfall with a Northern Lights Bomb.

BCG Challengers Series title match

Motoyuki Miyake © vs Kiyotaka

Much like in the semi main event, Kiyotaka here had to change his usual approach of tag team wrestling against the champion Miyake. Both men really showed their growth as they left their usual "rookie enthusiasm" behind in order to have a stellar slow burner of a match that pushed their bodies and spirits to the limit. The intensity was there, as was the drama and fans were on the edge of their seats as the match reached its climax, with Miyake delivering a decapitating KO Kick for the pin.

In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Motoyuki Miyake defeated Kiyotaka in 16:05 by pinfall with a Knock Out Kick. Motoyuki Miyake makes defence number 6 of his BCG Challengers Series title.

Author's Note: Yes, this diary hasn't been updated in quite some time. No, it isn't dead unless I explicitly say so. Had my hands busy with a bunch of other projects and for a while, some really wonderful puro diaries came out like southside_hitmen's Dead Lions Do Not Roar, Chisoku's SAISHO diary and CGN91's White Canvas Grappling. With only the latter apparently still going, I figured it's as good a time as any to post another show here!
