Monday Nitro opens with the music of DDP playing, as he makes his way out to the ring. DDP Gets into the ring and takes to the microphone. He says 2001 hasn't been his best year, but things are about to change. DDP says he won't let the Elite Era take over WCW and he plans to take the World Heavyweight Championship this Sunday as the first strike in the war to take them down. With that Scott Steiner comes to the stake with Midajah in toe. Steiner calls DDP the “saviour of nobody” as he says that DDP doesn't stand a chance. Steiner tells DPP that Sunday is just a formality for him, that DPP is just another token #1 contender who is there to fill seats and cement his and the Elite Era’s Legacy. DDP cuts Steiner off and tells him to shut up and save it for Sunday, because he is going to do all his talking in the ring, when he embarrases the champion. Midajah then steps in front of Steiner and starts pushing him back to behind the curtain. DPP then says “That's the way, hide behind the tougher half of the partnership”. With that Steiner pushes Midajah aside and goes to walk to the ring, but turns around half way down the ramp, links arms with Midajah and walks to the back with a smug grin on his face. DDP then drops the microphone, throws up the diamond cutter sign before the show goes to commercial. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Locker Room Leaders and Road Warrior Animal vs Elite Era (Luger, Bagwell, Steiner)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After facing a gauntlet last week to even get a shot at the Tag Team Championships, this week Konnan and Morrus get a chance to face Totally Buffed in a 6 man match. Teaming with a former ally of their opponents, Road Warrior Animal awkwardly joins the team he had previously helped to embarrass not a few weeks ago. Although an awkward pairing, they work well together in taking down the TV and Tag Team Champions. With the TV title back in action and Animals career on the line this sunday, it's no surprise that the Road Warrior came out swinging tonight. The adrenaline filled attack however led to the downfall as Animal was so hell bent on revenge, that he took his eyes off the ball and allowed Bagwell to blind tag into the ring and roll him up for the 3 count.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Winner: Buff Bagwell</strong></em></p><p>

Backstage Jeff Jarrett is alone in his office with a TV Camera. Jarrett looks down the camera and tells Rey Mysterio and Sting that this Sunday they have to stay within the rules as he has made stipulations to their matches, where the champion can lose the title under a DQ or Countout finnish. Jarrett also says that to spice things up, he is also adding the stipulation that if The Locker Room Leaders lose, they cannot have a rematch for the titles while they belong to the Elite Era. Finally Jarrett says that if DDP loses at Bash at the Beach, he will make DDP start off at the bottom of the ladder and make him work up before he ever sees another Championship match.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kanyon vs Lance Storm</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After the split from his tag partner, Storm is now going at it alone in WCW, however crossing paths with the Elite Era’s hired help tonight may be a lot to chew off so soon. Both men put up a good fight, with Kanyon seemingly using Storm as practice for his match this Sunday against Booker T. Although a good match, the ending is spoilt when Mike Awesome appears on the ramp and distracts Storm long enough to allow Kanyon to hit the Flatliner for victory.</p><p>

Awesome then slams Storm to the mat with an Awesome Bomb. Awesome then drops to one knee, lifts up the head of Lance Storm and says “Now everyone knows who the weak link really was”. Backstage Road Warrior Animal walks into the men's locker room where he finds Mark Jindrak. Animal walks straight up to Jindrak, as the rent of the locker room clears, leaving the two men face to face and toe to toe. After a new seconds of tension and awkwardness, Animal offers his hand to Jindrak without saying a word. After a small pause, Jindrak accepts the handshake. <strong>Disco Swingers vs Air Raid</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Following on from their unsuccessful debut last week, the Disco Swingers are in action tonight against the highflying team of Air Raid. The match suffers pretty early on as Air Paris miss-times a springboard move to Disco Inferno and lads awkwardly on his leg, causing him to fall straight to the mat and quickly ushered out of the ring and helped to the back. This left Styles to fight in what has become a handicap match. Although he holds his own for a short time, the 2 on 1 advantage eventually takes its toll, with Disco eventually getting the victory over Styles.</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Jeff Jarrett is sat in his office when the door bursts open and the former P.I hired by Ric Flair burst in, followed by the arena security. Hardwinder gived Jarrett a peice of his mind, before asking him what he was up to, and why he had to attack him, he says he’s behind on his bills because he couldn't work for the past few weeks and he wants answers. Jarrett asks him who he thinks he is to demand anything. Jarrett says he has nothing to say to him and tells the arena security to remove him immediately if they want to keep their jobs. The security then forcibly remove Hardwinder, who is kicking and shouting the whole time.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

After returning from commercial break, the camera’s are high above the arena, in the rafters. Slowly, the silhouette of sting walks into focus as he looks directly down the camera lense and addresses Jeff Jarrett personally. Sting says he isn't scared of what Jarrett or the Elite Era can or will do, he says he's seen off bigger threats and he will see that the Elite Era are eradicated from WCW. Sting then says he will see Jarrett and Steiner tonight and that they should bring all the help they can, because it's war.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kaz Hayashi vs Super Crazy</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After showing up to the Cruiserweight open last week, Super Crazy is back again and this time facing the man who has ben on a roll in recent weeks. In what on paper seems like a great match, the match didn't really garner any heat or much fan interest after Super Crazy performed poorly throughout with the fans slowly losing interest in the match. The victory was once again picked up by Kaz who continues his winning fortunes in the cruiserweight division. </p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Booker T is talking to Gene Okerlund. Booker says the deck has been stacked against him in recent weeks thanks to the Magnificent 7, Now that they are calling themselves “The Elite Era” things haven't changed. He is still fighting the battle against the very men who have done all they can to tarnish his name and keep him from regaining his World Heavyweight Championship. Booker says that this sunday he will have to take out a pawn in the game with the Elite Era, the lackey of the Elite, Kanyon. Gene asks if Booker thinks he will get a fair fight Sunday or will he have to face some kind of Elite Era underhand tactics. Booker says he has no doubt they will stack the deck against him, just like they will with everyone else on their radar of a WCW takeover. He says that in order to take down the Elite Era and Kanyon, he is just going to have to have eyes in the back of his head and hope the rest of the WCW locker room has his back.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Backstage in the Office of Jeff Jarrett, the Elite Era are sat around talking, when Chavo and Kanyon enter the room. Jarrett thanks them both for coming and offers them a seat. Jarrett says that they have all been talking and everyone is really pleased with the loyalty they are both showing to the Elite Era. Jarrett says that after a long discussion they would like to offer them a place in the Elite Era, so long as this sunday they come back victorious and cause humiliation against Mysterio and Booker. Chavo, with the Cruiserweight title on his shoulder, says he's already set the wheels in motion of taking the Cruiserweight title, he just needs to complete the formalities this Sunday. He then shakes the hand of Jarrett, Scott, Rick, Bagwell and Luger, before standing up and leaving the room. Scott Steiner then stands up and gets close into the face of Kanyon. Steiner says he wants to see Booker suffer and bleed, he asks him to at least promise that. Kanyon says he will give Booker a beating that he's never seen before. Steiner then offers his hand, Kanyon shakes it as Steiner pulls him in close and tells him that he doesn't like it when people break promises. With that, Kanyon makes his way out of Jarrett's office.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Diamond Dallas Page and Sting vs Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Main eventing the show tonight is 4 goliaths in the world of WCW. With all 4 men former World Heavyweight Champions. As the match kicks off, it's pretty evenly balances, it's not long however before Rick Steiner, Bagwell and Luger make their way to ringside and stand in the corner with the time keeper. Although not getting involved in the match, the 3 men outside prove a distraction throughout the match, leading to many spots where DDP of Sting will verbally warn them to “stay out of it”. Jarrett and DDP are the legal men, but while Jarrett is down, Steiner gets in the ring, behind the back of the referee. It's then that DDP spots Steiner and hits a Diamond Cutter to Steiner that changes the pace of the match, as the 3 men outside quickly grab his arm and leg, to pull him out of the ring. However as Jarrett gets back to his feet in the ring and goes to attack DDP from behind, Sting gets in the ring before it can happen and drops Jarrett with a Scorpion Death Drop, before DDP goes for the pinfall and the victory.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>Winner: DDP</strong></em></p><p>

After the match the Elite Era rush into the ring to attack DDP and Sting, however they get out of the ring before the attack. Chavo and Kanyon appear on the stage and rush down the ramp to attack them, however using their own momentum, Sting and DDP throw them into the ring with the other members of the Elite Era and taunt at the top of the ramp as they foil the plan of the Elite Era, who are stood in the ring, looking furious at their failed attempt.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Sorry Page, but you're going to the bottom of the list</em></p><p> </p><p>

WCW United States Heavyweight Championship</p><p>

Sting © vs <strong>Jeff Jarrett</strong></p><p>

<em>Sting is going to do what Sting does best.....get screwed. Count-Out, DQ, whatever it is, Jarrett is getting he cheap win AND the gold</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Booker T </strong>vs Kanyon</p><p>

<em>I'm in two minds here.....while elevating Kanyon with a big win here would be a good thing, you need to keep your bigger faces strong, because Steiner is going to need challengers after he's done with DDP</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mike Awesome</strong> vs Lance Storm</p><p>

<em>I like Mike Awesome (I like Storm too) and he should have been built into a monster heel instead of a pleasurer of the larger lady, or an aficionado of the seventies.....push Awesome strong.....but get him a mouth piece because that lisp ruins the whole illusion </em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:left;"><p><strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> Welcome to WCW’s 7th annual Bash at the Beach, live from California. Tonight we have an action packed night for you. We have every championship in WCW on the line, including the first defence of the WCW TV Championship after it's recent resurrection.</p><p>

<strong>Mike Tenay:</strong> I cannot wait to see that match. A former ally now having to fight for his career in order to get his hands on his former team mate and the gold.</p><p>

<strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> Can you imagine what's going through Animals mind tonight. It really is an all or nothing match for him.</p><p>

<strong>Bobby Heenan:</strong> What a stupid idea to suggest to the Elite Era. He could have just earned his shot, not put his career on the line.</p><p>

<strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> Earned his shot? Like Steiner earned the title? You think the Elite Era is going to play fair and let him earn it?</p><p>

<strong>Bobby Heenan:</strong> Well Jeff Jarrett is a fair man, he would have given him the chance.</p><p>

<strong>Mike Tenay:</strong> You believe what you like Bobby, The Elite Era has proved week after week that they don't play fair. Just look at how Jeff Jarrett himself has placed himself as the #1 contender to Sting WCW United States Championship.</p><p>

<strong>Bobby Heenan:</strong> Can you blame him, he's the chosen one, he doesn't need to earn shots at titles. He's above that, he's the President of WCW.</p><p>

<strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> Are you a paid member of the Elite Era, Bobby?</p><p>

<strong>Bobby Heenan:</strong> What makes you think i could be bought.</p><p>

<strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> Well you are singing the praises of the President of WCW, you will certainly line yourself up for a bonus tonight.</p><p>

<strong>Mike Tenay:</strong> Keeping things on track guys, the WCW US Championship is tonight's main event tonight, so we have some time before we get there. Let's talk about tonight's opening match. The WCW World Heavyweight Championship is on the line as Scott Steiner has to battle DDP.</p><p>

<strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> Now Heenan, you can't dispute DDP as a challenger, he earned his stripes in a fatal 4 way.</p><p>

<strong>Bobby Heenan:</strong> DDP may have earned his shot, but does he really deserve to be champion. He would tarnish the name of WCW forever if he was to beat the greatest champion in WCW History.</p><p>

<strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> Thats it Bobby, get out of the pocket of the Elite Era and start talking for yourself.</p><p>

<strong>Mike Tenay:</strong> I don't think we are going to get anywhere with each other tonight, let's just hand it over to ringside.</p><p>

<strong>WCW World Heavyweight Championship</strong></p><p><strong>

Scott Steiner © vs Diamond Dallas Page</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As the show gets going, it's the Champion who enters first, with Midajah in toe. Steiner makes his way to the ring with a chorus of boo’s as he mocks the crowd on his way to the ring. Diamond Dallas Page on the other hand, makes his way to the ring with the entire crowd on its feet holding up the diamond signs. As soon as DDP steps into the ring, Scott Steiner immediately launches an attack, not even allowing the referee to call for the bell to start the match. Once the Referee manages to pull Steiner away from DDP, he asks DDP if h is ready to start the match, before he rings the bell. As the bell rings, Steiner continues the attack and takes it outside. Using the help of Midajah, Steiner is able to get more than the 10 count outside to continue his onslaught. The first 3 minutes of the match is outside the ring, with the help of Midajah and continuous rolling in and out of the ringto break the count. The attack outside only stops when Steiner gets his tights pulled by a dowed DDP, causing him to go head first into the ringpost. Both men manage to make it back into the ring before the 10-count, and DDP begins his first onslaught of offence. The match levels out slowly and turns into a pretty decent showing of skill. Steiner gets a great Heel reception throughout and the closing moments of the match provide the biggest reaction for steiner of the whole match, as Midajah causes a distraction on the apron, as Steiner low blows DDP from behind and as DDP drops to the mat, he locks in the Recliner. After a few moments of it being locked in, the referee calls for the end of the match as the arm of DDP falls to the match 3 times.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Mike Awesome vs Lance Storm</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Back in the ring for the second of tonight’s matches and it's the face off between the two former members of Team Canada once again. Since the set up, Awesome has been on a path of destruction when it comes to Storm, even stooping so low as to work alongside the Elite Era. The match opens with a lot of animosity on show, with both wrestlers taking it straight to the floow, rolling around, throwing mounted punches on each other, before the referee forces them to stop and make it back to their feet. Storm shows of his speed and technical skill, outmaneuvering the big man when ever he has the chance, while Awesome manages to even the field with th harder hitting, more powerful moves, grounding Storm on multiple occasions. The match is evenly fought and nobody comes out of the match looking weak, however it's a Superkick to the chin of Awesome that lands him out cold on the mat, leading to Storm picking up the 1-2-3 for the second PPV in a row.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW World Tag Team Championships</strong></p><p><strong>

Totally Buffed © vs Locker Room Leaders</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Following weeks of torment at the hands of both the Magnificent 7 and the Elite Era, Konnan and Hugh Morrus have been punished to hell and back before getting their match tonight. After facing 3 teams in 1 night to even get the shot tonight, it's surprising the Locker Room Leaders have made it to tonight in one Piece. Following the recent success of Totally Buffed and their rise to the tag titles, it's no surprise that they get the match off to solid start. The Muscular power of Luger against the heart of Morrus proves to be no match at the beginning. It's not until the match rolls on that the heart and the never say die attitude of both Konnan and Morrus shines through as the greatest skill possible, after both members face an onslaught from Luger and Bagwell, barely getting offence in between the vicious and cruel attacks from Luger and Bagwell. The closing moments allow the fans to see the frustration on the faces of Totally Buffed, as they fail time and time again to get a 3-count for the win. Thanks to a quick flurry of offence at the hands of Konnan, the crowd for a moment believes we will see new tag team champions. Sadly this doesn't become the reality as a double team from Totally Buffed manages to finally seal the fate of the Locker Room Leaders as Bagwell pins Konnan for the victory, successfully retaining their titles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW Television Championship vs Career</strong></p><p><strong>

Rick Steiner © vs Road Warrior Animal</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In a match with most likely the highest stakes of the night, Animal in a bid for vengeance got his chance at both Rick Steiner and the WCW Television Championship. The cost however is his future in WCW, as the match came with the stipulation that Animal must leave WCW is he loses. This all comes off the back of a former partnership in which Animal and the Elite Era were guilty of the masked attacks together. Since the now renamed Elite Era turned their back on their former friend, Animal has been trying to recompense for his actions and just last week buried the hatchet with Mark Jindrak. As both men stand in the ring, as the referee raises the title and warns both men of the rules, Midajah walks down to ringside and stands in the corner of Rick Steiner. As the match begins, it's pretty clear is no technical master class as fists are thrown and each man slams eachother to the mat. Multiple times in the match, Midajah is seen trying to distract both the referee and Animal. Around the 7th minute of the match, the referee is once again distracted by Midajah and decides to eject her from ringside, in doing so, he escorts her up the ramp, allowing Steiner time to get is metal studded dog collar from ringside, wrap it round his fist and get back in the ring. As Animal is on his knees, he spots what Steiner is doing and pleads for him to show come mercy. Steiner smiles as his fist connects with the side of the head of Animal. Steiner then throws the dog collar from his hand to the outside, yells for the referee and drops to his knees for the pin. As the referee runs and slides into the ring, he counts the 3, as a smug Steiner raises his head and taunts the audience. Animal is helped from the ring by WCW staff to a chorus of cheers as he leaves the arena.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Stacy Keibler vs Torrie Wilson</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In a match with very little wrestling involved, Keibler and Wilson get into a cat fight and throw plenty of slaps while rolling around on the floor. With the referee failing to separate them, he calls in the help of Kidman and Stasiak who are at ringside. Both women are taken back to their corners as the referee gains control again thanks to the help of their partners. Before the boyfriends can leave the ring. Stacy grabs Kidman and plants a kiss straight on his lips. As she does, a shocked Wilson grabs her by the hair and drags her off Kidman. This proves a great way to cloud her judgement however, as Stacy manages to get Wilson into a DDT and plant her on the mat, allowing her to pick up the three count.</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Rey Mysterio is seen warming up in the locker room when Kevin Nash walks into the room. Rey asks what he's doing here and Nash shows him a visitors pass. Nash says he’s tried every way possible to get back into WCW but Steiner, Jarrett and the Elite Era have put roadblock after roadblock in his path. Nash says he knows he and Rey have never seen eye to eye, but after the way things have gone tonight, with the Elite Era steamrolling their way through every match so far tonight, he wanted to come and offer his support to Mysterio and hopefully help him stem the rot. Mystrio thanks him and says he knows there is a big target on his back from the Elite Era, because they want all the gold. Nash then pulls out something from inside his jacket pocket and hands it to Mysterio. Rey opens it up to find his old mask. Nash says the Rey he fought years ago is the Rey WCW needs tonight, that he may have made take off the mask, but he's here to offer it back to him as a boost to his momentum going into tonight. Rey offers his hand in thanks and both men continue to talk, with Nash hyping him up as the camera cuts to ringside.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Booker T vs Kanyon</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Following on from some recent defeats at the hands of Scott Steiner, Booker T now takes on the Challenge of battling the right hand man to the Elite Era. As Kanyon makes his way to the ring, he's wearing the t-shirt supporting the logo of the Elite Era, unsurprisingly this doesn't go down well with Booker T who is already waiting in the ring. Both men get face to face before the bell and Booker rips the t-shirt off the body of Kanyon before the bell rings. As the referee fights to separate them, he gets a split second of calm before calling for the bell, which starts the madness. Booker and Kanyon perform very well in the match and tell a continuous story of Kanyon trying to bust open the head of Booker, without getting DQ’d, in order to please Scott Steiner and get the “blood on his hands”. Kanyon manages to bust open Booker towards the end of the match, after removing the top turnbuckle and slamming his face into it. Sadly for Kanyon, the sight of his own blood doesn't dampen Bookers effort, it actually provides the much needed fire in his stomach to overcome the offence and hit Kanyon with a Bookend to pick up the victory. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW Cruiserweight Championship</strong></p><p><strong>

Rey Mysterio © vs Chavo Guerrero</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Before both men make their way to the ring, Scott Steiner makes his way to the ring with the WCW Cruiserweight Championship in his hands and hands it to the referee. Now the entrances start with Chavo who also comes to the ring wearing the t-shirt of the Elite Era and walks around the ring to Steiner and talks to him briefly before entering the ring. That's when the music of Rey Mysterio starts and out he pops from behind the curtain with his mask on, to a huge reaction from the live audience. Mysterio and Chavo put on a great spectacle in the ring and really showcase what the cruiserweights are all about. Mysterio however gets the advantage towards the end and hits his finisher on Chavo to go for th win. This is however when Steiner pulls the referee from the ring and argues with him. Mysterio then gets to his feet in the ring and runs, jumping over the top rope and attacks Steiner. Steiner however catches Mysterio, but before he can do anything. The crowd erupts as Kevin Nash walks through the crowd. Steiner drops Mysterio to the ground and walks to the barricade and argues with nash, telling him he's no part of WCW anymore. Nash shows Steiner his ticket before the pair continue to argue. Meanwhile Mysterio has made it back into the ring and hits his finisher cone again on Chavo, this time with the referee unhindered, he picks up the win, retains his championship and gets chased out of the Ring by Scott Steiner when he realises what has happened. Mysterio then hops the rail as he celebrates with Kevin Nash in the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW United States Heavyweight Championship</strong></p><p><strong>

Sting © vs Jeff Jarrett</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Before the match, a video package airs, hyping the history of the feud and the way Jarrett named himself #1 Contender. Jarrett is first out to the ring and begins pacing the mat while waiting for the arrival of Sting. Once he music of Sting hits, the crowd erupts the loudest it has all night. Sting makes his way to the ring with the WCW US Championship round his waist, not taking his eyes off of Jarrett the whole way down the ramp. As the match gets started, the commentators not how this might actually be the first time tonight we don't see someone of the Elite Era get involved in a match. As they joke, Jarrett begins to play dirty tactics, distracting the referee and placing a thumb in the eye of Sting. Jarrett fails to play fair the whole match, even going so far as to pretend to remove the turnbuckle pad and then as the referee turns his back to place the pad back on securely, he kicks Sting between the legs.</p><p>

Around the 16 minute mark, the titantron screen cuts to a camera in the backstage area, where 5 masked men are seen beating down Scott, Rick, Luger and Bagwell. The camera focuses on the downed men as one of the assailants throws his mask to the floor and leaves the room. The 4 remaining masked assailants then exit the room, close the door and park a nearby forklift truck in front of the door, before taking off in the direction that the 5th member took just moments ago.</p><p>

A shaken Jarrett then proceeds to putt even more dirty tactics as he pulls the referee in front of him, just as Sting is about to hit him. This allows Jarrett to kick Sting in the Knee and drop him to the mat, allowing Jarrett time to go outside and grab a Chair. As he rolls back in to hit Sting with the chair, the lights dim as music hits…</p><p>

Out walks Ric Flair, who stands at the top of the ramps and stares into the eyes of Jeff Jarrett who is completely frozen with shock. They lock eyes for what feels like an eternity, before Sting makes his way back to his feet and from behind, hits the Scorpion Death Drop. Sting drags the referee to the middle of the ring and Pins Jarrett for the 1-2-3 to retain his WCW United States Championship.</p><p> </p><p>

Dirt Sheet: Ric Flair turn, Complete success</p><p>

Jeff Jarrett Debuted a new power spot that showcased his ability to sell well; his psychology will be helped by being able to use it as a go-to-spot in future.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Loving this mate!! I've read it today from the beginning!! Thought I knew who 'revenge' was, but now I'm not sure. (I was thinking Jericho) But with four gaps... Four Horsemen...? I'd love it if it was Eddie, Benoit, Malenko and Saturn!! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I'm liking the slow introduction of the women's division. Stacy and Torrie will only get better but they won't be able to carry the division if you have one. Beth Phoenix in developmental is a good shout. Nattie should be available around now too? But someone like Jazz would fit this company well. And Gail Kim!</p><p> </p><p>

I also like the use of the Cruiserweights. WCW were always ahead of their time with that division. In Chavo, Rey and Kidman you have a fantastic core! Possibly the three best CWs in the world!! Psycosis is a loss but there are others who could make that division amazing...</p><p> </p><p>

There's lots I want to know, that you might be able to answer (without giving anything away)…</p><p> </p><p>

1) I may have missed it as I skim read some backstory stuff, but what happened to ECW?! Still in business?! If not, where are all their guys? I saw RVD get snapped up by NOAH, but Taz would be great for WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

2) Where do you see AJ Styles now that Air Paris is out for so long? A similar thing happened to me in my diary, but it was my 'AJ' that got injured for six months! Surely he could enter the Cruiserweight Division and allow Billy Kidman to move up the card slightly?!</p><p> </p><p>

3) Lance Storm is incredible. I love what you've done with him so far, but what do you see his ceiling as? World Champion? US Champion?</p><p> </p><p>

4) Do you have the money to throw everything at signing a WWE Main Eventer if one became available?! The Rock, Austin, Angle... They'd all be amazing signings, but I'd love to see Taker come across!! Your thoughts?</p><p> </p><p>

I don't mind if you don't answer these questions. Just some thoughts I had.</p><p> </p><p>

Overall, I bloody love this diary!!</p>

Overall, I bloody love this diary!!

Thanks Neighbor:p, i should give you some recognition here... you have helped me this week. Solved a problem and allowed me to get back to the serious job of writing :D.

The Horsemen are back... Who else would fit a Ric Flair revenge plot? The "Radicals" are all currently under contract with WWF :(. The reveal of who it is wont be a huge drawn out story... Its a "Fresh" Horsemen group which will all be revealed.

The Women's division is a LONG! way off at the moment. WCW obliterated an easy start in 2000 when it released the likes of Mona (Molly Holly). Its a long road back.

WCW Cruiserweight Division is likely the saving grace of the company, but its in need of a kick in the behind thanks to losing big stars of the division. Kidman, Chavo and Rey are certainly the best CW ever, but i Guess its time to make names for the future.

1) ECW was out of business due to bankruptcy. Tazz was already signed to WWF, along with Paul Heyman, Dudleys, Rhino, Richards, Dreamer... but its other talent are still "Free Agents"

2) AJ, AJ, AJ... Well the plans for him and Air Paris are somewhat upset, but his future is still going in the same direction as planned, just in a solo form. The team was in for a push to the titles, so it sort of screws up the story... SHHHH... but it will make sense :p

3) Lance Storm is an in ring star, He can work with almost everyone. His glass ceiling is yet to be found. But you may be pleasantly surprised :D

4) Right Now WCW is at Cult level and pulling in 600k+ a month, so the money is there, its just waiting for the opportunity to steal. None of the big star's deals have come up for renewal yet, HOWEVER! WCW may have just won a contract war with the WWF for someone who may just show up at New Blood Rising ;)

Hope that answers enough without giving anything at all away :D. Now to get to Nitro 300 where i can begin to relax :p

P.S... thanks again for the help :D

<span>http://homeofprowrestling.com/MyTEWDiarys/WCW%202001/Roster/jeffjarrett.jpg</span></p><p>

WCW Nitro opens with Jeff Jarrett in the ring, alone and with an angry look all across his face. Jarrett says he had last night planned perfectly, but thanks to Ric Flair the night ended with a disappointing feeling for everything. To which the crowd cheers, as Jarrett gets more agitated, Jarrett reminds the fans he's the President of WCW and they should show him a little more respect.</p><p>

<span>http://homeofprowrestling.com/MyTEWDiarys/WCW%202001/Roster/ricflair.jpg</span></p><p>

With that, Ric Flair makes his way out to the top of the ramp. Flair says Jarrett is President on a technicality and that he is the original President of WCW and he will be the sole President once the legal issues have been sorted out. Flair says that the attack that took him out was cowardly and if Jarrett really wanted him gone and wanted to have his position of power, he should have done it face to face. He says that luckily they didn't do any lasting damage, so in the interest of WCW he will forgive, but he certainly won't forget. Flair then says for now, they both have to get along and run WCW, which is when Flair says he has 4 friends who are more than willing to help them keep control in WCW. Flair then says to welcome the newest recruits to the Horsemen Family and the group to be known as the Nu-Horsemen…</p><p>

Mark Jindrak, Lance Storm, AJ Styles and the Returning Chris Candido walk out onto the stage. Flair says he handpicked 4 of the best young men he could find and in return for loyalty, he offered them a place in the Horsemen family. Flair then reminds Jarrett that they have to work together, if not, tonight might just symbolise the start of a war that WCW may not be able to come back from. </details></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage after the commercial break, Jarrett is in his office with the other members of the Elite Era, Kanyon and Chavo. Jarrett expresses his disappointment at the outcome of last nights Bash at the BEach PPV, but says they have to clean the slate and start all over again. Jarrett directs the troops to take down Flair and the “Nu-Horsemen” after their actions last night. Chavo then asks about what happens to Kevin Nash, to which Scott Steiner replied by saying his a** got fired but he can't keep his nose out of their business and maybe they need to make an example of him. Jarrett says he will invite Nash to Nitro next week for the 300th episode. He says that he will give him the option of walking out the arena or being carried out.</p><p>

Jarrett turns his attentions back to Flair and tells everyone in the room that although they have to work together, they will play the smart game and trick him into thinking they are willing to work together on the greater good, but slowly pick apart his authority and friends. Jarrett says it has the be a slow attack, targeting key strategic moments. Taking down potential allies of Ric Flair and opinionated members of the locker room. With that, Scott Steiner stands up and says he wants to kick it off by taking down either Konnan or Hugh Morrus as they are the voice of the locker room and could prove a problem in the future if they don't silence them immediately. Jarrett agrees and says he will let Konnan and Morrus know immediately that they have a match, Next. With that, the camera cuts to outside the locker room, as the camera catches Arn Anderson outside listening to everything that was being said.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Scott Steiner vs Konnan</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In a brutal showing of strength, Steiner provides 90% of the offence in a match set to silence any uprising from the locker room against the Elite Era. Still showing the effects of recent weeks, it's not surprising that Konnan doesn't put up more of a fight. The match is basically Steiner stomping his authority throughout and ends with Konnan tapping to the Recliner.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://homeofprowrestling.com/MyTEWDiarys/WCW%202001/Roster/ricflair.jpg</span></p><p>

Back after the commercial break and the music of Ric Flair hits. Flair comes out to the top of the stage and begins to address the live crowd. Flair says that yet again the Elite Era have let themselves down. Flair calls them amateurs for not even being able to organise a plan, let alone execute it without the world finding out. Flair says that seems as he’s back and already they are planning to take him down, he may as well strike back. Flair then says that there is one way he knows how to make them suffer, thats to take away the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from the Elite Era.</p><p>

He says he has spent weeks nursing his body and his ego, so he's had plenty of time to hatch a plan of revenge. Flair then says that he would like to introduce the wcw fans to “6 Ways to Hell”. He then points to the titantron screen where an image of a structure, resembling the “Competitions” Hell In a Cell, but without a roof, just a large open shell. Flair says that Scott Steiner will be defending his championship inside the structure come WCW New Blood Rising. Flair says he will have to face 5 other opponents in the match and the only way Steiner can win is by escaping the structure. Flair says that next week on the 300th episode of Nitro, he will chose 5 men and Jarrett can chose 5 men. Each man will face off in 5 qualifier matches, the winners will qualify for the 6 Ways to Hell match. The crowd then cheers as Flair makes his way backstage.</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Ric Flair is talking to the members of his Nu-Horsemen, offering them words of encouragement alongside Arn Anderson. Flair thanks them for joining his cause over the past few weeks. Flair singles out Mark Jindrak who has been fighting against the Elite Era on his own for some tim. Jindrak thanks Flair for bestowing the title of Horsemen on them, saying that the names comes with a lot of bragging rights at the bar, with the ladies after the show. Flair then addresses Chris Candido, saying his first run in WCW was out of his hands, but the potential he seen in him was so great, he wouldn't let his talents go unrewarded. Flair then says Lance Storm is the best technical wrestler in WCW today and at his young age is already considered a veteran backstage. Flair says he sees a bright future in Storm and asks him if he thinks Mike Awesome is done with him yet. Storm says he and Awesome are finished in his book, but with the Elite Era using him as a pawn a few weeks ago, he's not sure if Awesome has buried the hatchet yet. Flair then turns his attention to AJ Styles, Flair calls him a star in the making, saying he has the potential to go far under their tutelage. Flair then addresses the issue of his partner Air Paris, saying that he would have been a welcomed addition to the group, and that when his fit and well, he can “Roll with the boys”. AJ thanks Flair for the chance at making a future for himself, he also says that he will give his all and not go down without a fight. Arn Anderson then gives all 4 a piece of advice. Anderson tells them to think of each other as family, that nobody is ever on their own when they have their fellow horsemen around. That's when Flair says they can work on bonding tonight, as he's going to book them in a 4 on 4 tag match to help them work together as a team.</p><p> </p><p>

The cameras are backstage after the break, rushing towards a commotion in the parking lot. The camera’s get the the area to find O’Haire and Palumbo attacking and beating down the Tag Team Champions. After assaulting them, O’Haire and Palumbo pick up the belts from the floor, stand over the bodies of the tag champs and lay the belts on their bodies before saying “enjoy them while you can”.</p><p> </p><p>

Out walk the 4 members of the Nu-Horsemen, all wearing matching T-Shirts and stopping on the ramp to hold up their hands, showing the 4 fingers, the sign of the Horsemen.</p><p>

All 4 men get in to the ring and await their opponents. As their opponents enter the ring and the match starts, it's immediately obvious that it's the first time the 4 have teamed together. They take some time to get their rhythm, and although they are green when teaming, they show a great natural “flair” with each other as they wrestle their opponents. Jindrak and Storm wrestle most of the match, but tag in the youngster Styles to get the pinfall, as he hits a diving 450 from the top rope, on Johnny Swinger.</p><p> </p><p>

After the match ends, before the Nu-Horsemen get a chance to celebrate, Jarrett makes his way onto the stage. Jarrett warns all 4 of them, that teaming with Flair now means they have a target on their back, not just that but to do it after he got “Screwed” out of the US Title last night, means they have only made the whole thing worse. Jarrett tells them that it may not be tonight or even next week, but when they least expect it, he will get his own back.</p><p> </p><p>

Backstage Palumbo and O’Haire are in the locker room with Rey Mysterio. Rey welcomes them back after being away for a few weeks, Mysterio says they came back just at the righttime, because Totally Buffed were going to steamroller the tag team division. Palumbo thanks Mysterio and says that they already sent the message, but when they team up later to take on Totally Buffed and Chavo Guerrero, they can really put the proverbial spanner in the works of the “Elite”. Before Palumbo and O’Haire go to leave the locker room, O’Haire turns around and comments on Rey’s Mask. O’Haire says it's nice to see the friendly “Face” back in WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elix Skipper vs Shane Helms</strong></p><p> </p><p>

In a good match, Shane Helms proves to strong fighting Skipper. Helms who hasn't been that active in WCW recently, shows a more edgier side to his character as he performs using a lot more hard hitting strikes, alongside his usual moveset.</p><p> </p><p>

Ric Flair is backstage in his office, when Dusty Rhodes walks in. Fair stands up and the both men have an awkward moment before Dusty speaks. Dusty asks Flair if he's planning to pick up where he left off, before he got attacked. Flair says he was in a different mind frame and said he let his personal feeling cloud his judgement one too many time. Dusty says he bears no grudges but just wanted to make sure his job was safe. Both men agree to leave things in the past and stay out of eachothers way. Agreeing they cannot be friends, but agree they don't need to hate each other either.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chavo Guerrero and Totally Buffed vs Rey Mysterio and Natural Born Thrillers</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Totally Buffed are the last to enter the match, looking ruffled up from their encounter earlier in the night. Palumbo and Chavo start the match off, getting straight into the action. Both teams perform well, with Mysterio’s performance being called “Head and shoulders” above the rest. The match is pretty even though out, even with the bodies of Luger and Bagwell still recovering from an earlier attack. The end of the match proves to be somewhat controversial, as WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner once again shows his face at ringside, this time, taking Mysterio out through the crowd with him, as the referee is distracted, unable to see what's happened. This allows the numbers game to work in the favour of Chavo and Totally Buffed, as Luger manages to get the Pinfall over Palumbo.</p><p> </p><p>

In an interview with Gene Okerlund backstage, DDP tells Gene that his match was always going to have dirty tactics involved, given he was against Steiner and the Elite Era. He said he wasn't prepared for how the match went down. Calling the low blow just a prime example of the desperation the Elite Era will go to, in order to keep its monopoly on WCW. Gene then asks what DDP has in mind next. DDP says h is going to talk to Flair after Nitro goes off air, to see if he can persuade Flair to let him enter next week's qualifiers for the 6 Ways to Hell match. Gene asks if he thinks he has a chance of persuading Flair. DDP responds just saying, if he wants to make the Elite Era suffer, he's the #1 choice, with that, DDP thanks Gene, but says he has somewhere to be.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>WCW United States Heavyweight Championship</strong></p><p>

<strong>Sting © vs Jeff Jarrett</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Jarrett and Sting make their way to the ring with the crowd as loud as possible for both, however the reaction they faced couldn't have been any more polar opposite. The match gets under way and it's Sting he gets the first round of offence. The match plays out very much the same as the previous night. The match proves to be a great crowd pleaser with both men getting a reaction from the hot crowd. Towards the end of the match, Jarrett begins to build momentum, but fails to get multiple pinfalls, as Sting keeps kicking out. That's when Jarrett walks to the ropes nearest the ramp and motions for someone to come to the ring. After what seems like forever for Jarrett but in reality about 20 seconds, he turns around and walks straight into a Right hand from Sting. After a flurry of moves, Sting hits the Scorpion Death Drop on a bewildered Jarrett and once again picks up the victory, successfully defending his championship two straight nights in a row.</p><p> </p><p>

Straight after the match Flair and his Nu-Horsemen appear on the titan tron, this time they are shown standing silently as Scott, Rick, Lex and Buff are escorted from the arena and into the back of police cars in handcuffs. As the camera’s continue to roll and follow the arrests of the 4 members of the Elite Era, unbeknown to Jarrett, the Horsemen and Flair make their way through the crowd. All 4 members then stand on one side of the ring as Flair Struts all around the ring, as Jarrett stands alone in the ring, looking scared for his life. The titles for Nitro rolls as all 5 stand, intimidating Jarrett.</p><p> </p><p>

WCW and Multiple TV Networks are rumored to be in talks after this past Monday's WCW Nitro topped a target set by the USA Network of 10.00. Beating it by a further 10%, networks as said to be high on adding WCW to their portfolio as the company continues to rebuild and regroup it's fanbase and it's product. Many insiders are questioning the addition of another show to the weekly calendar, stating “They need to focus on Nitro and worry about the rest when it's fully rebuilt”. While others are firmly behind the idea stating “If WWF has 4 shows and WCW only has one, it looks the inferior company, they need the extra TV time to not just increase the bottom line, but increase the public opinion”.</p><p> </p><p>

Nothing has yet been set in stone, but insiders are stating it could be a few weeks or a few days, but networks have now opened their doors.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>
