American Males/Nasty Boys - By the gods, it's like the two worst theme musics of the 90s coming together.

Arn Anderson - Were this COTT, Wright would pick up the plucky underdog victory. But this is WotW, where the shine is long gone from young Alex and "Double A" is picking his bones like a hawk.

Luger and Savage - New Gen Mega Powers take a nice win over some B-squad Doomers.

Bonus: Kamala and Shark

Razor Ramon - A win over Savio, okay; but he's not taking down "Da Bad Guy" by any means.

British Bulldog - Davey seems to be in line for some big things at this moment. I don't really expect to see that lasting long, but it's nice for now.

The Clique - While this would be a great time to lodge a pin for someone in the Camp, I just can't see the entire Clique going down in one match. We'll see who gets a title shot on Raw.

Bret Hart - Bret moves on from this feud so he can start having solid main events again.

Sid - Bigelow goes down here so that Sid keeps looking like a strong title contender.

Undertaker - End King Mabel, move on.

Dean Douglas - Shane can be so much more.

Alundra Blayze - The women's division is pretty dead, so this one really doesn't matter.

Fatu and ??? - Another one where you can end a feud that's fairly lame duck so people can move on to something else.

JR comments that THE KING must have missed his flight in Memphis, while Vince hypes tonight’s main event that has huge consequences! Let’s start the show! Grade: B- Match 1: In a poor match, Hunter Hearst Helmsley defeated Henry O. Godwinn in 6:53 by pinfall with a Pedigree. It’s a clash of styles! HUNTER HEARST HELSMLEY has argued that his manner of living is far superior to the hillbilly HENRY O. GODWINN, causing the HOG to reserve a bucket of slop for the posh superstar. Helmsley was able to prove his words in the opening minutes, working over the HOG. But, Godwinn was able to bounce back thanks to the crowd’s support, before pointing to the bucket of slop! As the HOG started to leave the ring and grab the bucket, HHH took advantage, knocking him over with a chop block and hitting The Pedigree for the victory. Grade: C- BACKSTAGE: We get a quick backstage segment as TED DIBIASE is seen standing alongside SYCHO SID. The Million Dollar Man says that BAM BAM BIGELOW can't afford to make any mistakes tonight, or Sid will make him pay! Grade: B RINGSIDE: THE SAMOAN GANGSTA PARTY make their entrance, talking trash to the audience about what they’ll do to FATU! Fatu doesn’t seem to mind, taking the time to shake hands with the audience, before pointing to the ramp for his tag team partner… <iframe width="177" height="100" src="<a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/St8myUoYGvw" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/St8myUoYGvw"</a> frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> It’s AHMED JOHNSON! Grade: D+ Match 2: In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Fatu and Ahmed Johnson defeated The Samoan Gangsters in 5:53 when Ahmed Johnson defeated Big Matty Smalls by pinfall with a Pearl River Plunge. The crowd wasn’t into this one particularly, as it served mostly as an enhancement match for both Fatu and Ahmed. Fatu was off his game working up to the hot tag to Ahmed, who cleaned house and got the pinfall after a Pearl River Plunge. Grade: C-</div> <div style="text-align:center;">BACKSTAGE: DOC HENDRIX is backstage with JIM CORNETTE right outside of Camp Cornette's locker room. Dok wants Jim's thoughts on the main event, and, of course, he's happy to give it to him. He trashes the idea that Bulldog didn't get an outright title shot, and accuses GORILLA MONSOON of conspiring against Camp Cornette! Jim assures us that none of his gimmicks could tear the camp apart! But, as Jim gives his last thoughts, we can suspiciously hear shouting in the locker room - is Cornette telling the truth? Grade: B Match 3: In a terrible match, Alundra Blayze defeated Bertha Faye in 7:28 by pinfall with a German Suplex. Alundra Blayze wins the WWF Women's Championship title. In a feud that has received a mild amount of build-up during the past few weeks of superstars, the glutinous BERTHA FAYE looked to squash out ALUNDRA BLAYZE's title dreams. However, Blayze was able to put a stop to it with a huge German duplex to regain the Women’s championship. Grade: D+ RINGSIDE: Dok rushes down to greet the celebrating Alundra to interview her just moments after winning the gold. Alundra thanks the fans for their support and promises to fight anyone who wants a shot at the gold! Goldust is fitted in a blonde wig and gold suit, dressed to the nines for his debut! But, he’s not alone, as a women smoking a cigar follows closely behind. Goldust enters the ring as the spotlight follows him, before making his way towards Jim Ross standing in the ring. Jim Ross welcomes Goldust to the World Wrestling Federation, and says that Goldust has repeated to inform the World Wrestling Federation that they will remember his name - JR asks what exactly he means by that? Goldust breathes in deep, clutching his chest tightly, before explaining that some wrestlers in the WWF desire fame and fortune, but he was born in it! The days of Bogart, Monroe, and Sinatra have gone by, but Goldust still remains and, if the boys in the WWF play along, he can share his fame with the world! Goldust pauses and breathes deep again, inching closer to the microphone - and JR -, as the mysterious woman blows out a ball of smoke… “And they will all remember the name… Goldust!” With that, Goldust and his guest leave the ring to sit in a director’s chair at ringside, as it appears the pair will watch the next match in person… Grade: C</div></div></blockquote> <div style="text-align:center;">Match 4: In a decent match, 1-2-3 Kid defeated Dean Douglas in 8:51 by pinfall following a distraction from Goldust. As Goldust lounges at ringside, DEAN DOUGLAS looks to prove that 1-2-3 KID is a failure, and the Kid wants to prove him wrong! Dean is able to show off his superior technical ability, but the tenacity of Kid keeps him in the match. The finish sees an arrogant Dean lecture the audience - and Goldust at ringside - allowing 1-2-3 to pin him with a flash pinfall! Grade: C+ RINGSIDE: An irate Douglas quickly recovers to give a quick beatdown to the Kid, getting ready to hit him with a fisherman suplex, before Goldust rushed in the ring to make the save! Dean bailed, warning The Bizzare One to stay out of his way, as Goldust cradled the Kid in the ring! As he recovers, he realizes that he’s in Goldust’s arms, leading him to back away with his fists up! Goldust poses and hisses at the Kid, leading to a confusing end to the segment. Grade: C+ ON THE TRON: We get a quick recap of KING MABEL’s rise in the WWF - his victory of the King of the Ring tournament, challenging Diesel for the WWF Championship, and his victory over THE UNDERTAKER! He put Undertaker on the shelf - but now The Deadman wants his revenge! Grade: B- Match 5: In a good match, The Undertaker defeated King Mabel in 8:17 when King Mabel intentionally got disqualified. Obviously, these men can’t wow the crowd with their techinical ability, or through aerial maneuvers, or through their in-ring psychology, so these men went out to brawl! Undertaker played the aggressor, and Mabel struggled to keep up! The referee had trouble keeping control of this one, and a frustrated Mabel to use his scepter to knock out the Undertaker! A DQ! Grade: B- IN THE RING: Mabel continues to lay it on, hitting a splash on Undertaker, before leaving the ring satisfied. However, as he turns around on the ramp to admire his work… The Undertaker sits up! Mabel is terrified and runs to the back, as Taker poses in the ring! Grade: B+ Match 6: In a decent match, Sycho Sid defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in 9:55 by pinfall with a Powerbomb. You guys like big guys fighting! Well good! The Sycho doesn’t seem too pleased that BAM BAM has decided to put his nose in Corporation business, but Bam Bam doesn’t seem to care! He came here for a fight, and he brings it! Ted and the Sycho look to slow down Bam Bam, taking breaks out of the ring to derail Bam Bam’s momentum. Ted ends up playing a big role this match, distracting Bam Bam as he attempts a moonsault, allowing Sid to recover and nail a top-rope assisted powerbomb for the victory. Grade: B- BACKSTAGE: Dok catches up with a sunglasses-less BRET HART backstage for a quick interview before his match. Bret promises to teach the thief a lesson and prove he is the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be! Grade: C+ Match 7: In a decent match, Bret Hart defeated Jean-Pierre Laffite in 11:03 by submission with a Sharpshooter. It's a strange feud, but Bret has found an enemy in the criminal JEAN-PIERRE LAFFITE, who has found new ways to annoy The Hitman without really explaining himself. Some could consider Jean-Pierre’s style as borderline reckless, but the angry French pirate that he could overpower Bret, at least for a little bit. The surprisingly strong and agile JPL thought he had the match in the bag as he ascended to the top rope for Le Cannonball, but Bret was able to roll out of the way. With his opponent dazed on the mat, Bret locked in the sharpshooter for the submission victory. Grade: B IN THE RING: Bret has little time to celebrate as ISAAC YANKEM, DDS strikes again! Yankem nails him with a huge lariat to knock out the Hitman! Yankem picks up Bret and drops him with a DDT to leave him laying. Grade: B+ RINGSIDE: It’s time for the main event! Despite arguing earlier, Camp Cornette enters as a team, their tensions becoming focused on their opponents, not each other. RAZOR, SHAWN and DIESEL enter individually to loud pops, as the crowd is ready for the main! Camp Cornette seemed to be the more formidable unit in this contest, as the were able to isolate HBK from his tag partners after an initial run of dominance from both Razor and Big Daddy Cool. This is in no way made Shawn a sitting duck, as he managed to roll away from a Bonzei Drop from the giant Yokozuna, setting the hot tag - and that’s when things got messy. Hot tags to Bulldog and Razor respectively, and, after gaining some momentum, Razor is able to nail a Fallaway Slam to try to pin Bulldog - until Owen is able to break it up. Owen tries to lay more a beating on Razor, but he’s swiftly nailed with some Sweet Chin Music to knock him on his back. HBK mocks Owen a bit, allowing the huge Yokozuna to crush HBK, sending him over the top to the outside. Big Daddy Cool is the next one in, clotheslining Yoko enough to knock the giant man out of the ring. A recovering Bulldog sees his chance to make more of an impression on Diesel, attacking him from behind, in an attempt to hit him with Running Powerslam. However, with Razor’s support, Diesel is able to slip out and nail a huge Jackknife powerbomb on Bulldog! Diesel is pumped to get a measure of revenge against the turncoat Bulldog, but he allows the legal man Razor Ramon to be an opportunist - and pin Bulldog 1-2-3. In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Razor Ramon and Diesel & Shawn Michaels defeated Camp Cornette (Owen Hart, Yokozuna and The British Bulldog) in 16:59 when Razor Ramon defeated Owen Hart by pinfall with a Fallaway Slam. Grade: B+ The crowd is excited that “The Bad Guy” scored the pinfall victory, even if it took a bit for him to even realize that he’s the new number one contender. Diesel looks a bit upset, knowing that Razor didn’t truly earn that pinfall victory. Corny’s throwing a fit at ringside - his team was robbed! The Heartbreak Kid is able to ease the tensions - making peace between Razor and Diesel to send the fans home happy! Brain says he’s got his eyes on the most dangerous match in wrestling - War Games! Tony struggles a bit when explaining that the Zodiac has “lost his way” in the Dungeon, and now no one knows who will be the last man in the match! Grade: B+ MATCH 1: In a decent match, Johnny B. Badd defeated Diamond Dallas Page in 13:10 by pinfall with a surprise roll up. Typical of WCW, these two were asked to put on their working boots to put on a decently long opening match. DDP used a calculated approach to slow down JOHNNY B. BADD, using rest holds to try to exhaust the fiery wrestler. But, Badd was a fighter, showing off a little amatuer boxing skills and of course some impressive aerial maneuvers. The finish saw DDP beg DIAMOND DOLL to score his discus clothesline as a “10” (to which she was reluctant), allowing Johnny B. Badd to roll up DDP for the pinfall victory! Grade: C+ POST MATCH: Johnny B. Badd quickly runs away before MAXX MUSCLE can get his hands on him, backing up and telling the Doll that she can do better! As DDP berates her in the ring, it seems that she may be taking Mr. Badd’s words to heart! Grade: C+ IN THE RING: HARLEM HEAT make their way to the ring, with SHERRI at their side, looking determined heading into their tag title shot. BUNKHOUSE BUCK and DICK SLATER show an equal amount of focus, but COL. PARKER is more focused on grabbing a microphone at ringside. Heat and Parker’s boys look equally upset, as Parker continues to stumble over words when speaking to Sherri, until Buck has enough and clobbers Booker T on his back to kick off the match! Grade: C Match 2: Harlem Heat defeated Bunkhouse Buck & Dick Slater in 8:42 when Booker T defeated Bunkhouse Buck by pinfall with a Heat Seeker. Harlem Heat win the WCW World Tag Team Championship titles. Booker T is one who’s asked to do most of the work in this match, as Buck, Dick and Stevie Ray are all not very good workers. Unfortunately, this match is a bit sluggish, illustrating the lack of depth in the WCW tag division. The finish sees action occur in both rings - as Buck is distracted by Parker dropping to a knee to propose to Sherri, allowing Harlem Heat to nail him with a Heat Seeker to win the tag team gold! Grade:C IN THE RING(S): Parker and Sherri embrace, as Harlem Heat are handed their newly won championships. Book motions for Sherri to join them in the ring, and his eyes nearly pop out of his head when he realizes Sherri is marrying Parker! He explains that The Zodiac’s betrayal was etched in stone. Instead, The Master promises to deliver the Taskmaster a greater force in the War Games match tonight, as we see a hulking figure in the shadows displayed on one of the stones in the background. The Taskmaster laughs in glee at the sight of this figure, thanking The Master for his kindness. The Master just reminds him on his mission - destroy Hulkamania tonight! Grade: B</div></div></blockquote> <div style="text-align:center;">Match 3: In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Dean Malenko defeated Jushin Thunder Liger in 10:58 by submission with a Texas Cloverleaf. After that vignette, we get a solid techical performance from both DEAN MALENKO and JUSHIN LIGER, as Tony and Brain applaud the performance of both men. Tony puts over Jushin, celebrating his excellent in ring skill and charisma, advising fans to seek out his work in NJPW. Brain isn’t as impressed, putting Dean over as a scientific wrestler and cold-blooded man. Dean proves to have a painful submission finisher too, as Dean makes Liger lose with a Texas Cloverleaf. Grade: C+ Match 4: In a decent match, Big Bubba Rogers defeated Jim Duggan in 8:13 by pinfall with a Bubba Slam. No breaks here! We cut to from a possible sign of a future division to a flashback to the “Golden Era” of the WWF as HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN squared off against BIG BUBBA ROGERS to settle their feud over the past few weeks. These two rely on crowd involvement to tell their story, although Duggan was a tad off his game when connecting to the crowd. He probably wasn’t too happy about doing the job either, as Bubba was able to pin Jim in the ring following a Bubba Slam. Grade: C+ BACKSTAGE: MEAN GENE is backstage for the first time tonight, standing outside of Hulk Hogan’s locker room where STING, RANDY SAVAGE, LEX LUGER and HULK HOGAN waited for him! Sting cuts a typical great babyface promo, showcasing his excitement for the main event. Macho isn’t too excited - he still doesn’t trust Lex and let’s him know it! Lex pleads his innocent and promises to fight the good fight, but Macho isn’t buying it. Hulk takes the microphone now, shaming Lex and Macho for the tension and making an impassioned plea to work together to save Hulkamania brother! Lex and Macho seem to ease up a little bit, before Macho utters that Lex better stay of his way! Grade: B+ Match 5: In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Brian Pillman defeated Eddie Guerrero in 11:38 by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage. BRIAN PILLMAN’s head has been growing the past few weeks, ever since his victory on the debut of Nitro. Some may say that’s been affecting his abilty to think straight, especially when he challenged the heart - and ability to win of EDDIE GUERRERO. Eddie’s been anxious to get his hands on Brian over the last few weeks, and that anxiousness only increased as Pillman used every heel tactic in the book to get underneath Guerrero’s skin. This tactic works, as, after hitting a few moves but failing to put Pillman away, Guerrero charged at Pillman in the corner, only for him to dodge and roll up Eddie near the corner - and use the ropes for leverage. Grade: B POST MATCH: Brian Pillman raises his arms and victory and cackles away, knowing that he stole one from Eddie tonight. Eddie slams the mat in frustration, as his frustration and lack of patience cost him a victory tonight. Grade: C+ Match 6: Road Warrior Hawk def Kurasawa by DQ, Kurasawa retains the WCW Television Championship. A battle of two tough guys sees ROAD WARRIOR HAWK and KURASAWA (led by the still ecstatic Col. Parker) try to knock each other out to win this match. Hawk is able to get the better of Kurasawa, causing the desperate but distracted Parker to snap out of cloud nine and sock Hawk with a roll of quarters for the DQ decision. Grade: B- ON THE TURNERTRON: We get a short recap video hyping the upcoming RIC FLAIR and ARN ANDERSON match. The video quickly recaps their history in the 4 Horsemen, to their recent struggles. Will Arn prove to Ric that he’s in his league? Grade: B Match 7: In a superb match, Ric Flair defeated Arn Anderson in 16:07 by submission with a Figure Four Leglock. Flair and Anderson put on a great match (tied for MOTN), using their immense knowledge of each other’s wrestling styles to try to get an advantage over their opponent. The match gets plenty of near falls, and the two surprisingly put on a honest and fair performance, staying away from their usual heel tactics. After kicking out of the Spinebuster, much to Anderson’s frustration, Flair was able to get Arn on his back to lock in the Figure Four! Arn resisted for a few moments, before finally submitting to give Flair the win! Grade: B POST MATCH: Flair’s get his arm raised in victory, and, after giving the audience a “WOOO”, Flair notices a limping Arn Anderson to his feet. Flair puts his hand out for a handshake and Arn accepts! The two friends embrace after putting on one heck of a show. Grade: B+ ON THE TURNERTRON: It’s time for War! Gene provides the voiceover work to preview this match, going over the rules and showing off the teams! The Main Event is now! Sting is able to use his adrenaline rush to do some damage on Meng, but his momentum is stopped when Sting is locked in the Death Grip! Sting is probably kicking himself for allowing himself to get caught so quick, and needs to get bailed out by the next entrance - Lex Luger! Lex is able to help Sting recover, knocking over Meng with a clothesline before posing for the crowd and helping Sting to his feet. The two babyfaces are able to continue to nail Meng with some big moves, but have to change focus when SHARK comes out next! Some tornado tag team action occurs, until MACHO MAN rushes from the back! Macho is a house of fire, hitting the monsters with everything he’s got! In the middle of his sequence, Lex and Macho have a short staredown, with Macho telling Lex that that’s how it’s done, as the Taskmaster makes his way out! Bobby and Tony are both surprised to see Taskmaster enter now, expecting him to be last. The Taskmaster proves to provide an extra sense of motivation for the Dungeon, as the three monsters are able to put down all of Hulk’s team, until Hulk Hogan makes his way out! Focused on the Taskmaster, Hogan is fired up! Taskmaster wisely runs from Hogan, sending Meng and Shark to stop him! Hogan gets a little assist from his teammates, as he’s able to counter the two on one assault. Hogan points to Taskmaster next, as the crowd gets ready for the next entrant. <img alt="Klw6WNzs.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Klw6WNzs.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Oh. THE GIANT makes his way to the ring, as Bobby hypes this man as the lost son of Andre The Giant, and calls him the most dangerous man in the ring! The babyfaces all have lost focus on Taskmaster, instead talking with one another about how they could possibly stop this man! They take turns charging at Giant, but he no-sells and pushes them all off! Tony remarks that this may be it for Hulkamania, as the Dungeon have recovered and now control the match. However, the babyfaces aren’t out, as Sting is able to take care of Shark, and Macho and Lex take care of Meng! The duo still pair up to try to attack The Giant (who’s been focusing on Hogan), but in the commotion, Lex accidentally hits Macho on his back! Macho knew this was going to happen, and gets right in the face of Lex, who pleads his innocence! Sting places peacemaker, with Hogan coming to defuse the situation too, until The Giant charges! The babyfaces know better this time, knocking the Giant back, until his arms get caught in the ropes! Like father, like son(?)! The Taskmaster clearly is by himself now, and tries to get out of there, but Luger stops him! Hogan is able to hit the big boot and leg drop (brother), before Sting flips Taskmaster over a puts him in the Deathlock! With Hogan egging him on, The Taskmaster quits! In a superb match, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Sting & Lex Luger defeated The Dungeon Of Doom (The Taskmaster, Meng, The Shark and The Giant) in a War Games match in 20:14 when Sting defeated The Taskmaster by submission with a Scorpion Deathlock. Grade: B The four victorious men raise their hands in unison, and Hogan poses in the ring! The Dungeon back away slowly, with a seething Giant staring down the Hulkster!
