Jaysin
Probably the weakest edition of Dynamite that we've ever had. Not bad by any means, but no match really stuck out. Commentary was great throughout the show though. Calling Page, Reynolds, and Silver "The Good, The Bad, and the Hungee" made me laugh so hard. Tony Schiavne saying Omega made Impact's viewers go from 1 to 6 was hysterical. Kinda buries Omega and Impact at the same time though. When Callis said no one has kicked out of the One Winged Angel and Excalibur mumbles that Kota Ibushi did, again, funny stuff. Fenix vs Omega should be good though. Mootinie
Yeah, I didn't think it was a particularly strong show this week either. It feels like they're spinning their wheels until it's time to start the build for Revolution. I'm glad Cody won a match with that cutter, it's obviously a much better move than the Cross Rhodes. Nice to see Angelico on Dynamite. I swear Hager's only involvement in the 12-man tag was the finish and my god his F-10 looked awful. I wonder if the original finish was Wardlow doing that move and MJF stealing the pin but I did feel sorry for Griff Garrison having to take that. The tag division is odd at the moment, it seems like a team get on TV for a week and then they're getting a shot. Shouldn't The Acclaimed have to run through the other tag teams first and be ranked #1? It would be nice if we could get a longer build for these matches so we actually have a storyline to get invested in or a match to get excited about instead of just doing it with little build. Jaysin
AEW filed trademarks for AEW Elevation and AEW Dark this week.
Mootinie
They're doing Rey Fenix vs. Danny Limelight on Dark next week, that has serious banger potential.

milamber
BTE and Dark were both really good this week. The promos on both were worth watching. Dynamite: - MJF & Jericho vs Top Flight was good. Hager/Wardlow should be fun. - The Acclaimed diss music video was entertaining. - The Sting segment was fine but repetitive. They should make it a dual TNT/FTW title match. - That was a heartfelt tribute to Santana and MJF's family members who passed away. - Dark Order vs Jurassic Express was good. I love how arrogant Colt is getting. The FTR match should be hot. - Kenny & Callis are a great double heel act. - Butcher vs PAC was good except the timing of Archer coming out was a little off. Kingston was relentless on commentary lol. - Solid promo from Cargill. Beach wedding brawl incoming. - Uno vs Dustin was solid but the finish was a bit weak. - Spears is a good promo. - Shida vs Gracia was solid. Abadon bringing out the fire in Shida. - Acclaimed vs Young Bucks © was MOTN. Knox bump!
Jaysin
So first Shawn Spears cuts a strange promo and then he deactivates his social media accounts and his profile is removed from the AEW roster page. Interesting

liontamer
To me, it feels like he's going to show up on Impact. As a storyline, talent trade, or a legit change of employment?
milamber
99% chance it's a kayfabe storyline and he rebuilds himself in IMPACT before returning to AEW.
hailthebulldog
As a storyline, talent trade, or a legit change of employment? I would say kayfabe. I wouldn't be surprised if he's there for an extended period of time to rebuild him in Impact.
Jaysin
Shawn Spears going to be Impact would probably do wonders for both Spears and Impact. He needs some sort of direction.
milamber
Wrestling Observer: - Right now it looks like Trent won’t be needing surgery so that speeds up the recovery process - The situation with Pac is that he is still living in the U.K. which makes using him tricky. Right now there is no problem getting him into the U.S. There are flights in and there are no quarantine rules coming into Florida. But going back, he has to quarantine for two weeks. So he can’t fly in for tapings and then fly home, they have to do periods where he’ll be around for several shows and then he goes home and it makes no sense to go home for two weeks and then come back. So we’ll basically have on and off cycles unless he moves back to the U.S - For the 12/30 show, there were about 130 tickets left at press time and they were opening up to PPV levels and not usual TV levels because of the Kenny Omega vs. Rey Fenix title match - AEW is looking to trademark terms AEW Dark and AEW Elevation. What we do know is that AEW Elevation is not the planned name for the second show on TNT. Whether this is related or not, Tony Khan had talked recently of breaking Dark up into two shows because they are looking at so much new talent each week that they are doing 12-14 matches and that could be done better in two shows than one - Priscilla Kelly, the ex-wife of Darby Allin, said she turned down a storyline where she would come in as Allin’s wife. She said she felt if she came in like that she’d be forever cast as somebody’s wife rather than her on her own - El Cuervo de Puerto Rico, the wrestler whose life and career nearly ended when Angel o Demonio threw a cinderblock hard on purpose because he lost his cool and hit Cuervo in the back of the head during a 2018 match, debuted on Dark on 12/30 teaming with Ariel Levy against Luther & Serptentico in a jobber role. Cuervo retired but ended up coming back more than a year later - Evil Uno talked to the Ottawa Sun about how he and Stu Grayson basically never leave their homes due to COVID in between trips to Jacksonville. “We travel every two weeks and quarantine in between. We don’t leave our houses; that’s a stress. There was a time where it was very uncertain for both of us because we couldn’t make it to work for several months, so we were at risk of being cut. We didn’t know the scope of what COVID would be like. We also didn’t know what kind of financial hit AEW was going to take. It was stressful at first, but now it feels like the norm. We have deep roots in this area, we helped build up this whole wrestling scene over the past 15 years. We’re still within the decision phase. - For U.K. ratings for the week from 12/5 to 12/11, Raw did 48,100 viewers, Smackdown did 43,700, Impact did 14,200 and AEW did 150,000. NXT and NXT U.K. didn’t chart. As noted every week, AEW has the advantage of being on the strongest station with the highest level clearance, but the disadvantage of being streamed by hardcore fans for a day before it hits television and two days later, while WWE programming runs live later at night. These numbers include DVR viewership for seven days. - WWE has been making overtures now toward some of the top level IMPACT talent to find out when contracts expire. Stuthurso
Very sad. Was he known to be sick, or was this out of nowhere? It sounds like he got sick some time after the Dog Collar match against Cody so not a very long illness at all. Apparently it was some kind of lung infection, but not Covid. This hurts bad, I feel so sad for his family and friends but also because his career was doing so well recently and it felt like he was just going to become a bigger and bigger star. It feels so damn unfair. God speed Jon Huber, and thanks for the great memories. RIP
