Bringing Some "Sparkell" to AAA!

AAA Deadlier Than The Male 2016

I got to the Washington State Gymnasium, and all was pretty peaceful. I took this rare opportunity to resolve something that had been bugging me since April…

Jessica-Bunny.jpgKate-Lilly.jpg

Jessica and Kate had had some tension between them since Kate almost hurt Jessica in a match in April

I grabbed both girls and took them into a side room, and we had a good chat. At the end, I wouldn’t say Jessica and Kate were the best of friends, but they did agree to let bygones be bygones, and I couldn’t ask for much more than that! I then headed over to the notice board to have a look at tonight’s card…

This looked like one Hell of a card to me, and I could see the points where our big story for 2017 was starting to form! Fun little tidbit: Nadia challenged for the Femme Fatale Championship on the first show of 2016, and here she is challenging again in the last! Could this be her night? Who knows? Well, me, Ms Quine, Nadia, Joanne, Dwight (Kumas, our referee), and anyone else who needs to know… but who else knows? ;)

AAA Deadlier Than The Male 2016

Pre-Show Segment

Steph-Blake-alt1.jpg

Steph was out nice and early, before the crowd was even done taking their seats!

Let’s not waste any time! Everyone here knows that there’s not a woman on the AAA roster who can hold a candle to my abilities, so I figured an open challenge would basically be a night off for me! So, bring her out! Who’s my opponent?

Suzanne-Brazzle.jpg

WHAT?!

Okay, so I knew that was coming, as Suzi was the name Ms Quine wrote on the napkin in the café a few weeks ago. But “WHAT?!” was the general reaction of the audience when she came through the curtain! It turns out, she was only due to be out of action for a couple of weeks, but the internet got a bit carried away reporting on the severity of her injury. We didn’t lie to anyone, we simply didn’t release any statement to correct what was being reported online!

Steph’s face was an absolute picture, too. Had I not seen them working out their match backstage before the show, I would’ve believed that no-one smartened Steph up to who she was facing!

Wow, these two girls didn’t waste any time trying to steal the show in the opening match! They went back and forth for 19 minutes and 6 seconds, with Selina Svelte being the difference maker! The finish came when Steph distracted Dwight just long enough for Selina to hit Suzi in the back of the head with Steph’s belt, causing her to stumble right into a Slingshot DDT for the pin.

After the match, Selina and Steph carried on beating down Suzi, until…

Ellie-May-Walton.jpgTalia-Quinzel.jpg

Selina’s partners, Ellie and Talia, came running out to the ring!

Ellie and Talia chased Steph from the ring, then got right in Selina’s face! They were shouting about how they had a tag title shot tonight, and Selina’s running around getting involved in other people’s matches, when she should be focused! The crowd actually seemed to get behind Ellie and Talia in this segment, but were they misinterpreting their focus for saving Suzi?

Steffi-Chee.jpgtransparent-TEW.pngTracy-Brendon.jpg

Devil’s Daughter vs Lady Liberty vs Steffi Chee vs Tracy Brendon

This match, especially in the early going, was dominated by Devil’s Daughter and Tracy, who teamed up on the “babyfaces” to draw some “heat” from the crowd. Eventually, that alliance broke down, as only one of them could win the opportunity for a title shot on the first show of 2017! They started going at it, fighting tooth-and-nail, until Steffi recovered and hit the ring, taking them both out! She turned to celebrate to the crowd, when Lisa (Lady Liberty) hit her with the Liberation Lariat for the pinfall after 20:03!

AAA Tag Team Championship Match

AAA-Tag.jpg

Debbie-Rose.jpgKate-Lilly.jpgvs.jpgEllie-May-Walton.jpgSelina-Svelte.jpg

Debbie Rose & Kate Lilly © vs Ellie May Walton & Selina Svelte

This was the super story-telling-heavy match of the night, with Selina and Ellie constantly bickering, having miscommunications, and just generally performing poorly as a team. After 15 minutes of the match, Ellie opted to continue the beatdown on Debbie rather than tagging Selina, and Selina decided to walk out on the match. Ellie was stunned by this, which allowed Debbie to recover, and she didn’t seem to know what to do. Was it right to take advantage of someone who had been left to fight 2-on-1?

Kate had the answer, tagging herself in and going straight after Ellie, beating her down! After a total of 17:50, Kate pinned Ellie to retain the tag titles, with Debbie looking decidely uncomfortable with what she’d just been a part of.

Singles Match

Sara-Marie-York.jpgvs.jpgTalia-Quinzel.jpg

Sara Marie York vs Talia Quinzel

Well, this was a spectacle! The match started off slow, with Talia seeming quite distracted by what she just saw happen between Selina and Ellie, but eventually getting into her groove and having a good back-and-forth match with Sara, which lasted over half an hour! Towards the end, Selina resurfaced, sliding a chair into the ring then grabbing Dwight as a distraction, but Talia refused to use the distraction!

She picked up the chair and threw it out of the ring (some would say at Selina, but it certainly went near her!), then turned round into an Energy Burst and the win for Sara after 32:47!

Nadia Snow & Cat Jemson In-Ring Promo

Nadia-Snow.jpgCat-Jemson.jpg

Nadia bragged about beating J-Ro last month in the Queen Of The Ring tournament, and said that history would repeat itself tonight when she closes off a stellar year by winning the Femme Fatale Championship. Just as Cat was about to talk, Joanne came out of the curtain!

Joanne-Rodriguez.jpg

J-Ro wasn’t here to talk, she made a beeline for the ring!

Just as Joanne slid into the ring, Nadia shoved Cat towards her and bailed out of the ring! Joanne looked at the crowd, shrugged, and dropped Cat with the J-Rocker!

Cool The Crowd Match

Mary-Beth-Chase.jpgvs.jpgWendy-Anderson.jpg

Mary Beth Chase vs Wendy Anderson

This match was all about Mary dominating, using a slow, methodical pace designed to give the crowd some respite from the high-octane action they’d seen so far, and it worked. Mary looked like a monster, Wendy put on a great display to make Mary look like said monster, and after 13:10, Wendy tapped out to a Boston Crab.

AAA Femme Fatale Championship Match

AAA-Femme-Fatale.jpg

Joanne-Rodriguez.jpgvs.jpgNadia-Snow.jpg

Joanne Rodriguez © vs Nadia Snow

Cat was conspicuous by her absence for the vast majority of this match, and it was incredibly close, with both women getting multiple near-falls that had the crowd convinced the match was over! The match ended (after 19:12) with Cat emerging at the top of the ramp screaming Nadia’s name, which (understandably) distracted Nadia, leading to her turning round into a J-Rocker for the pin and the retain for J-Ro!

grade-dplus.jpg

AAA.jpg

After the match, Cat had a huge grin on her face, having gotten even with Nadia for sacrificing her earlier. Unfortunately for her, she didn’t see Selina Svelte sneak up behind her and attack her! The beatdown was vicious, and culminated in a Powerbomb off the stage, through a table and onto a load of electrical equipment! I knew Cat had trained like crazy for this spot, but I was still terrified for her!

Luckily, the stretcher she left on was purely for the crowd’s benefit and, while sore, she was alright when she got backstage.

Overall Show Rating:

grade-d.jpg

The after-show speech was somewhat unusual. Once Ms Quine had complimented Nadia and Joanne for two good segments, she gave Cat a big hug and announced that tonight had been Cat’s last show in AAA, at least for now. Everyone seemed surprised and upset about this, but I also understood. Ms Quine needed to save some money, and Cat, while a great manager for Nadia and Demelza for the last seven years, isn’t really needed any more, especially with The A-Listers being presented individually more and more. That didn’t stop me being gutted she was leaving, though…

I don’t know how I missed the predictions on this one, saw you posted a new post and went to reply to the predictions and saw the results below. :o

(If it helps I was going to pick Foxxy LaRue randomly as the contender and would have picked her to win the title in the opener, and wouldn’t have picked Lady Liberty to win the fatal four way)

It's fine! At first I was a little gutted not to get any predictions, but then I remembered, the best way to do this sort of thing is to do it for fun and treat it as a bonus if others enjoy it :D

Week 1, December 2016

Wednesday

Catherine-Quine-phone-call.jpg

Hi, Ms Qui-- Cat! How are you?

I think, by the way you answered your phone, you know how I’m doing! Last night was definitely a return to form for us, right?

Absolutely! I’ve been looking at some reviews online, that was our fourth-best-received show of 2016! We were slipping for a bit, but we came back at the end!

We absolutely did! But we can’t rest on our laurels, I want 2017 to be our best year yet! So, shall we get down to business?

Already? Wow, Ms Quine was really serious about this!

Sure! What did you want to talk about?

First of all, I had a chat with Sara after last night’s show. She’s a little concerned with how her 2016 went, and feels she needs to gain some momentum going forward, and I have to say I agree. She was our top girl this time last year.

Yeah, I completely understand that. We got a bit tied up in our big storyline, we should definitely do more to keep Sara at the top of the pile!

Agreed. I was thinking, we should have a little bit of fun before the next show. Let’s do a little “2016 awards ceremony” backstage before show time, just to recap how our year went.

That could be a lot of fun, for sure!

And Sarah, don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. When we meet up to arrange the next card, I have something for you, that I think you’ll like!

Really?! You didn’t have to get me anything...

It’s no trouble, really. Call it an early Christmas present! So, when shall we meet?

Saturday?

See you Saturday!

Saturday

I walked into the coffee shop to see the usual sight – Ms Quine at a table with two coffee cups on it. As I approached, pleasantries were skipped completely…

“Have you heard?”

Have I heard what? Please don’t tell me someone’s hurt, or been poached by a bigger company…

“Cherry’s started dating Harrison Hash!”

Harrison-Hash.jpg

Harrison Hash – the original Panda Mask!

“Oh! Okay… good for her!”

It went without saying that, while we were both happy for Cherry finding love north of the border, it made it even less likely that she’d ever come back our way, which was a real shame.

“Anyway, let’s talk our plans for 2017! First things first, I promised you an early Christmas present… catch!”

Ms Quine tossed a small bag in my direction, and when I looked inside, I couldn’t believe what I saw!

“It’s… perfect.”

I’d transcribe the rest of the meeting, but wouldn’t want to spoil everything for you guys! ;)

Thursday, Week 3, December 2016

Catherine-Quine-phone-call.jpg

Hello?

Hi Sarah! Do you want the good news or the bad news?

There’s bad news? Uh-oh…

Give me the good news first...

As you wish! I’ve just gotten done signing Suzi to a two-year extension on her contract, and she’s even agreed to take a small pay cut to help us out!

That’s great news! I really like Suzi, I’m glad she’s staying! So… dare I ask, what’s the bad news?

It’s Sara… USPW have signed her. I offered everything I felt we could afford, but their offer was just too good. They’re big-time, you know? She’d be crazy to turn them down!

Damn, that really sucks… for us, but awesome news for Sara! Will she be at the next show, or does she start with USPW before then?

To be honest with you, I’m not entirely sure myself yet. I’m hoping we’ve got her for one more show, but it’ll depend on when her contract with USPW officially starts. I’ll get back to you.

And with that, she was gone. Arguably our two best pure wrestlers, one committing to staying, one leaving. Luckily, Sara wasn’t in the middle of anything huge, like Cherry and Jaime had been earlier in the year…

AAA Pretty Amazing 2017

As I walked through the door of the backstage area of the Washington State Gymnasium, I was met by Ms Quine immediately.

“We need to talk, let’s go to my office.”

She seemed very serious, so I followed her immediately. She started by telling me that Lisa (Lady Liberty) had tried pulling a rib on the girls in good spirits, but it had upset pretty much everyone.

Lady-Liberty.jpg

When will she learn?

Without giving too much away just yet, Ms Quine let me know of some important changes to the card that would be required, thanks in no small part to USPW. For the record, Sara was already under contract there, so couldn’t even have a goodbye match for us. After Ms Quine had filled me in on all the bad news and changes, I went to check out the match card on the notice board…

AAA Tag Team Championship Match

Debbie Rose & Kate Lilly © vs Jessica Bunny & Katherine Goodlooks

Steel Cage Match for the AAA Femme Fatale Championship

What a start to 2017! Sara who? ;) But in all seriousness, I felt this was a really strong bounce back from the bad news we’d had over the holiday period, and should be one of our better shows since I started this diary!

(For the record, Lisa wasn’t getting her Top Contender’s Championship match due to poor behaviour backstage, but we didn’t want to negate last month’s Fatal 4-Way, which is why the title wasn’t scheduled to be on the line…)

This cage match came about because of all the outside interference that has plagued our main event scene in recent months, and the cage did its job for the vast majority of the match. Unfortunately, towards the end, Selina appeared at ringside as Jo was about to climb out over the top of the cage and knocked her back into the ring just in time for Nadia to connect with a Snow Ball for the pin and a new AAA Femme Fatale Champion!</p><p> </p><p> <img alt="grade-dplus.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/PzLDNk1/grade-dplus.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <img alt="AAA.jpg" data-src="https://i.ibb.co/w6CrwTP/AAA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Nadia left the cage through the door, grabbed the title and went to Selina to celebrate on the ramp. First, she surprised us all by having Cherry, Jaime and Zoe on a video call on her phone to talk to us all, and so we could congratulate Cherry and Jaime on having our best match of 2016! (And the 5th best one, too!)</p><p> </p><p> However, Ms Quine then declared Nadia our “wrestler of the year” for 2016, as she had been involved in SEVEN of our top 10 matches of last year! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> The full list of our top 10 matches of 2016 is below:</p><p> </p><p> </p><ul><li>Cherry Bomb vs Jaime Quine (I Quit match) – Hell Hath No Fury 2016<br /></li><li>The A-List vs Joanne Rodriguez & Sara Marie York – More Than Meets The Eye 2016<br /></li><li>The A-List vs Good Lookin’ Bunny – Women Of Wrestling 20<br /></li><li>Nadia Snow vs Suzanne Brazzle – Battle Of The Babes 2016<br /></li><li>Cherry Bomb vs Jaime Quine – Pretty Amazing 2016<br /></li><li>Nadia Snow vs Sara Marie York – Pretty Amazing 2016<br /></li><li>Nadia Snow vs Suzanne Brazzle – Queen Of The Ring 12<br /></li><li>Steph Blake vs Suzanne Brazzle – More Than Meets The Eye 2016<br /></li><li>Debbie Rose vs Nadia Snow – Queen Of The Ring 12<br /></li><li>Joanne Rodriguez vs Nadia Snow – Deadlier Than The Male 2016<br /></li></ul><p></p><p> (For the record, J-Ro and Nadia’s cage match was marginally better than their outing in December, but obviously didn’t count in the 2016 list.)</p><p> </p><p> Once that was taken care of, Ms Quine brought Jo out in front of everyone and announced that she had also received an offer from USPW, and tonight was her last show with AAA, at least for now. This sucked all of the energy out of the room, but everyone understood, same as they did with Sara. There’s not a girl in that locker room would turn down a written deal from USPW or NOTBPW, but it didn’t make it any less gutting when someone left. Jo went around and gave everyone a big hug and we all said our goodbyes, then I got up in front of the room, to the surprise of Ms Quine.</p><p> </p><p> I said that, as good as Cherry vs Jaime was, and as good as Nadia had been for us, and everyone else had played their parts brilliantly, the real person we needed to acknowledge for our 2016 was Ms Quine herself. Everyone unanimously agreed, and I even managed to get a “you are awesome! (clap clap clapclapclap)” chant going for her! I could tell she appreciated the gesture, even through her “no, you don’t have to do this” game face. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46371" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">AAA Pretty Amazing 2017 Full Results</span></strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> Mary Beth Chase def. Woo perfect score, I feel like I've joined Taylor's booking committee haha :p

It's a shame that J-Ro's been poached, you've not had much luck in keeping your stars, but with all these signings it will be interesting to see who else gets cast off by the big players. Hope you had a good birthday weekend!

Congrats! Pretty sure that's the first time anyone's ever hit a perfect score on any of my diaries! :D

Yeah, I was gutted that SMY and J-Ro got poached like a week apart, but Nadia was my star player of 2016 anyway, so hopefully they leave her alone!

Oh, and thanks! My birthday weekend was good! Ate Japanese food, watched indie wrestling live, ate carvery, opened presents, watched Aristocats and Reservoir Dogs back-to-back... :p

Love that film combo...

One might say my taste is quite eclectic! :p

How is the company doing in terms of size etc Ebeza? I've never been raided to this extent in my AAA games.

I'm at work at the moment, but from memory, we haven't grown or shrunk in size at all since the game began. I was surprised SMY got poached, considering her less than stellar year - she even dropped to Upper Midcard auto-push at one point!

I find that it happens with SMY too. It's a good reason to get the strap off her.

Are you happy with the grades? I can't remember what I achieved with them in the early shows. Presumably you're still getting the little one area increases.

One thing I've noticed is the match lengths. Do you get any obvious penalties etc?

I'm not unhappy, but I'd definitely like to see improvement in the near future!

I don't think so? Why, should I be?

I was thinking if you would get hits for using *** too much but I didn't factor in losing Cherry etc. You're using the standard roster so I supposed everyone gets boosted a little. I always bring in Deborah Young and some 5SSW & QAW talent. I'm a fan of the well-executed squash note, especially for Brute gimmicks.

Lady liberty is living a charmed life!

OOC

Hi guys, just want to apologise for my inactivity on here of late. I got a new job, got super busy, and just couldn't cope keeping up with everything, and this forum was one of the things that suffered. That said, I miss it here!

So I dug out my notebook for this save, and am hoping to be able to revive it!

I thought an appropriate first post back would be to acknowledge all the wonderful people who made predictions in my 2016 on this save, so without further ado, here are the predictions points for 2016!

AAA More Than Meets The Eye 2017

After a quiet month (no news is good news, right?), I arrived early at the Washington State Gymnasium because Ms Quine and I hadn’t had our usual meet-up to sort out this month’s match card. We went over to the notice board and were just about to start discussing the card when the first of the girls started to enter the building…

Steffi-Chee.jpgSelina-Svelte.jpg

Steffi Chee and her protégée, Selina Svelte...

Amber-Allen.jpg

and her other protégée, Amber Allen?!

I shot a look at Ms Quine, who grinned, shrugged and said “oops, did I forget to mention our new signing?” I couldn’t be mad, and this was Amber Allen! “So what do we do with her?” “Let’s stick her in there with Steffi and let them put on a show!”

By the time we’d constructed most of the card, and were considering what to do with the tag titles, we heard a lot of grumbling coming from the now-almost-full locker room. When we checked it out, it turned out Jessica Bunny had made a right mess, and everyone was moaning, so Ms Quine told everyone to set up wrestlers’ court while we finalised the card. We ended up not putting the tag titles on the line, or the champions on the card at all (by way of discouraging bad locker room behaviour going forwards), and our final match card ended up looking like this:

AAA More Than Meets The Eye 2017 Match Card

Opening Match

Amber Allen vs Steffi Chee

AAA Top Contender’s Championship Match

Lady Liberty vs Steph Blake ©

Singles Match

Ava Anderson vs Gorgon

Singles Match

Mary Beth Chase vs Wendy Anderson

Grudge Match

Nadia Snow & Selina Svelte vs Suzanne Brazzle & ??? (1 point for guessing the partner, 1 point for predicting the winner)

In wrestlers’ court, Ms Quine found Jessica guilty of making a mess, and “sentenced” her to buy everyone drinks after the show. She also requested that everyone stick around for said drinks, because she had a pretty big announcement to make… and no, before anyone asks, I didn’t know what it would be!

Welcome back! Congratulations on the new job, now let’s we if I can remember how to do this.

AAA More Than Meets The Eye 2017 Match Card

Opening Match

Amber Allen vs Steffi Chee

Need to start building up Ambers US popularity

AAA Top Contender’s Championship Match

Lady Liberty vs Steph Blake ©

One of the few things I remember is Lady Liberty is a bit of an a-hole backstage so don’t think she deserves a title

Singles Match

Ava Anderson vs Gorgon

Squished

Singles Match

Mary Beth Chase vs Wendy Anderson

Anything Gorgon can do Chase can do... similarly

Grudge Match

Nadia Snow & Selina Svelte vs Suzanne Brazzle & ??? (1 point for guessing the partner, 1 point for predicting the winner) Talia Quinzel

One of the other things I remember is always go for ???. In regards to who they are I first thought you weren’t on the card but then looked who else wasn’t on the card and tried to think who hadn’t been poached!
