TNA Rising

TNA are on the decline. They have fallen behind long-time rivals ROH who are on the up-and-up. Many have attributed the fall of the promotion to big egos in the TNA locker room and the introduction of Vince Russo on the creative team. But, what if... the once promising wrestling promotion from Nashville could start again?

It's 2004. A new era of wrestling is in full swing. With most of its top stars past their prime, The Attitude Era was all but over and it was time for a change. That change came in the form of the Ruthless Aggression era. An era of wrestling that saw WWE rookies like Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Randy Orton rise to super stardom. Around this time, a certain wrestling promotion from Tennessee was about to enter its prime years. Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, founded in 2002, was a part of the National Wrestling Alliance at the start of 2004. They had many top stars, the cream of the crop being WCW legend, Sting. They also had a batch of promising young stars, including the flashy AJ Styles. This was before Vince Russo, before the big egos took over the locker room. TNA were a fairly new promotion that showed much promise. What if they were to start again? If Jeff Jarrett never gave up his post as head booker to Vince Russo. If they never let the big egos take over. Would TNA have become the top dog in America? Or were they destined to fail from the very start?

<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">TNA Sign Ken Anderson</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:10px;">TNA have secured the services of Ken Anderson, the 27 year old young lion from Wisconsin on a written contract. Ken Anderson has worked a handful of appearances for TNA in the past. He has also had a spell in the WWE. However, he is still largely unproven and inexperienced. Signed to an exclusive deal, Jeff Jarrett and TNA have faith in the rookie. Jeff Jarrett, the current head booker and founder of the promotion has gone on record to say that Ken Anderson will be a future star. Ken Anderson will likely be a part of the promotion's new X Division, a division filled with talented young stars.</span></p>

<p>TNA Leave National Wrestling Alliance</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">TNA Leave National Wrestling Alliance</span></strong></p><p>

</p><p><span style="font-size:10px;">

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling have left the National Wrestling Alliance. This split was hardly a shock to those familiar with TNA, who have long looked to leave the NWA umbrella due to the many rules set by the alliance. In recent times, it had seemed more and more likely that TNA were going to make the split from the alliance due to their rise to prominence in the wrestling scene. TNA's founder, Jeff Jarrett has made a statement about this split from the NWA, saying that it was an amicable split with no hard feelings. Following this split, TNA have cancelled the weekly NWA:TNA PPV and replaced it with its own TNA Weekly, held every Saturday. TNA have been allowed to continue using the NWA World's Heavyweight and Tag Team titles until the end of January, at which time the champions will have to relinquish their titles.</span></p>

Surprise Debuts

Surprise Debuts?!

On the first edition of the new TNA Weekly PPV series, we witnessed the debuts of 4 new wrestlers on the TNA roster. The first debut saw Dustin Rhodes, formerly Goldust in the WWE and son of The American Dream Dusty Rhodes, address the crowd in the Philadelphia Civic Center. Soon after the debut of Dustin Rhodes, Perry Saturn, another ex-WWE employee, walked to the ring to challenge the son of The American Dream. Nearing the end of the show, former ROH World champion Samoa Joe attacked AJ Styles during his title challenge, winning Styles the match by disqualification but ultimately costing Styles the NWA World's Heavyweight title. The Samoan proceeded to lock Styles in his patented Coquina Clutch submission, prompting the fourth debutante to rush to AJ Styles' aid. That fourth debutante was none other than Bryan Danielson, a young lion trained by Shawn Michaels himself. Bryan hit Samoa Joe with a knee and locked Joe in his own patented submission maneuver, the Cattle Mutilation. Styles' opponent on the show, Jeff Jarrett watched the scene unfold on the stage, far from the ring.

After their split with the National Wrestling Alliance, fans of the sport wondered if TNA would continue bringing them the same, quality product. These four signings, all quality wrestlers in their own right, are showing the wrestling world that TNA are not just a novelty act, but a force to be reckoned with.

Jeff Jarrett Among The Fans At Pro Wrestling NOAH Event

Jeff Jarrett Among The Fans At Pro Wrestling NOAH Event

Pro Wrestling NOAH has amassed itself a dedicated fanbase in recent times and it seems that TNA founder and head booker, Jeff Jarrett is a part of that fanbase. The Chosen One has apparently been spotted by fans of the Japanese wrestling promotion, snapping pictures of the NWA World's Heavyweight champion; These pictures would show up in various wrestling magazines in Japan as well as in the United States. Fans have speculated that Jeff Jarrett, and TNA, are eyeing a certain Hiroshi Tanahashi. The graduate of the New Japan Dojo is a bright young talent who has already made a name for himself in his home country. Tanahashi, with his superb technical wrestling abilties and seemingly unlimited stamina, would be a good fit for TNA. At the moment, however, this is nothing more than a rumor, as the identity of the man in the picture has not been confirmed.

After four new faces showed up on TNA's first edition of their new weekly PPV, it was clear that the promotion was looking to expand its roster. It was, therefore, no surprise to see two more fresh faces on the company's weekly TV show. The first debutante was Afa Jr., currently going by Manu, the son of legendary Samoan wrestler Afa. He aligned himself with the Samoan Connection, the team of Sonny Siaki and blood relative Ekmo, going by Leaga, to face The New Church. The second debutante was the 19 year old Canadian, Kevin Steen. Steen is a talented in ring performer with an impressive array of moves that seen him become a cult favourite among the Canadian wrestling fanbase. Already making 6 new additions to the roster, will TNA continue bringing in more talent to bolster their ranks?

A<strong><span style="font-size:18px;">TNA Have Terminated The Contracts Of Sinn and Slash</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-size:10px;">News has broken that Total Nonstop Action wrestling have relieved Sinn and his tag partner, Slash of their duties as in ring performers for the company. The two 30 year old wrestlers were signed to written contracts prior to their release. TNA's representatives and the two wrestlers themselves have stated that it was a mutual agreement between the parties. It is said that the tag team were the ones to request for their contract to be terminated as they felt staying in TNA would hinder their career progression. They will likely continue finding work on the independent scene as a tag team act. TNA are unlikely to be affected by the loss of the midcard tag team, who did not look to be a part of their long term plans. </span></p>
