theoutlaw321
As many of the players that actively participate in the continuous games that have returned to GDS know, I have not been as active on this board as I am normally. There is a good reason for this. I have been working towards the growth of mafia/werewolf, not just here at GDS. Since the games returned in November they have ran continuously and that is a good thing. I hope that GDS once again returns to the thriving mafia community that it once was. We are getting there! But what we have done with the reemergence of the games here is catch the attention of others on the net. There is a massive amount of communities that play some form of mafia or werewolf throughout the net. These communities are based all over the world. Several years ago, a competition was started to bring all those communities that play this game or some form of it together. And on that note, I am happy to announce that we have received an invitation to send a representative this season. The following is the invitation which explains the entire process. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1E9x7nJkSPmv1ZtSKFdSmLsvD4DQoX13i2MA9VG5p4W4/edit The Mafia Council has been discussing the invitation and the proper way to go about choosing a representative to send to the competition. We have decided to post a thread in the Dog Pound and open up nominations from those that regularly play mafia on this site. The following process will be used. >Players may be nominated to be on the ballot. In order to make the ballot a player must be seconded by another player. >Each player is allowed one action. You may nominate a player or second one. This process will take place in the thread and will go one for a period of 5 days. At the end of the nomination period, those receiving both nominations and seconds will be voted on, with the one receiving the most votes being our representative and the player finishing second the named backup. At the end of this process, the representative's name and information will be sent in to the event. There are somethings to keep in mind. >You must be active. Very active. Last years Championship rounds saw an average of 90.3 posts per player per phase. >They do not play like the norm is on GDS. -There will be someone lynched each phase. -No lynch is a strategy only used in late game, specific situations. -Claiming will not save you. The roles are randomized. After reading the invitation, if you have questions I will do my best to answer them. If I can't I will find them out. And I suppose in an effort to not clutter the Dog Pound the nominations can be done in here. Do them just as you would a vote in a game. Nominate: Taker This becomes the official action. Second: Taker

eayragt
I know Outlaw stressed very active, but that doesn't begin to cover it. In my most active days I wasn't nearly active enough, so there are probably only a few here who stand a chance - would have been more 10 years ago, but things change. Played a game there recently. A smaller not as active game and it still moved much quicker than our games here. djthefunkchris
Are you sure that you're sure? I'm sure that I'm sure, yeah. I mean what I am saying. Maybe I should have posted this first, since it is at the forefront of my decision here. "2. I think someone that's been playing since the "rebirth" started should have the opportunity. I'm not qualified in my mind just from this fact alone. I've only played three games (and haven't finished the third). So yes, I'm sure, thanks though.... It was an honor to me to be mentioned at all, considering the short amount of time I've put in.

You shouldn't be looking at ordinary Mafia Universe games to get a sense of how active the Championship games are . To be clear, the Championship games are definitely also very active. But not 12 posts a minute active. Since many of the players will be players like you - from communities that aren't as super active as MU. We did the math, and last year the first few days would average 500-600 posts per 24 hours.

Hello Thingyman and welcome to GDS:cool: I averaged all the games in the Championships and came up with the average I did. I know some of them were very active and pulled the average up. I think dj's numbers came from looking at Game 1. Just from talking to him privately.
