The crowd stirs a little bit as the host for tonight's proceedings steps up to the podium and clears his throat.]

[Togg:] With every great Promotion comes a great Booker, every great booker has his Star Worker. Our next Award tonight is to honour the best of the best. The Face of a company now becomes the Face of the 2018 Diary of the Year Awards Ceremony. The Nominee’s are as Follows…
Toshiaki Kawada in All Japan Pro Wrestling - 2001: A King's Road Odyssey by Body By THawk

Riley McManus in The Climb by Historian

And the winner of the Award is Riley McManus in The Climb by Historian with 54.2% of the public vote, a well deserved win for a huge star.

Theme Music:

[Historian:] I’m probably most proud of this individual award. Riley McManus won Worker of the Year. A guy who in the default data starts as an unemployed cast off from MAW and usually gets picked up by small/regional companies to be a good hand turned in to a worker that was a top guy and so well received. I’m very glad he’s been so well received and it’s encouraged me to keep him in the spotlight but also made me hopeful that perhaps in TEW2020 he will have a bigger role in the default database!

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/event.png

[Togg:] Thanks, i’m sure this won't be the lest we see of you out here tonight. Now we have to move on to a category that could be called the “Wrestlemania” of all categories, that's because Wrestlemania could just be a winner *Joke falls flat*. Over the past 12 months, many writers have built cards that rival the very best there ever could be, so lets find out who the Nominees are for tonight's Event/Show of the Year 2018…

Theme Music:

[The Final Countdown:]

Theme Music:

[Rhyme1234:] This is a really great and honorable moment for me since its something I am really grateful to all of those who voted as I really thank them from the bottom of my heart. This community is one of the best I have ever been to and I am really proud and grateful to be a part of this. Congratulations to everyone who has won here and its really honorable to be at the stage with you all! Plus its really big when you know that you are at the tie with the Legendary The Final Countdown, Hehe. I am really surprised that I won something here, I am starting to know where I am heading to. One day for sure I am aiming to be a legendary writer, one day!

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/face.png

[Togg:] Now we move onto a category which puts a spotlight on just how much we care about the workers who put forward their best babyfaces. A lot may succeed in making the fans love them, but we are here to celebrate those who thrive in the glory. This year, just 4 names made the list, Kenta Kobashi, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Clyde Puder and Quadzilla. Now for the full nominations and the details of the minds behind the success.

And the winner of the Award is… We have another Tie for 1st, both getting a 30.8% share of the votes, Kenta Kobashi in All Japan Pro Wrestling - 2001: A King's Road Odyssey by Body By THawk and Clyde Puder in The Climb by Historian

Theme Music:

[body By THawk:] Once again, all thanks to Okada Kazuchika for being a hero we can all believe in and teaching us that, thru Okada, all things are possible.

That is all. Thank you.

Theme Music:

[Historian:] The Hillbilly Hammer! Ol’ Clyde Puder. A Hillbilly regen that turned into a monster from a good destiny roll and getting used a whole, whole lot. [He was cutting promos every preshow for months and months to develop]. He was the first graduate that I was able to turn into a name. He’s become another foundational member of the roster. Thank you for voting for him.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/rocky.png

[Togg:] Congratulations both, sharing the trophy just goes to show how tight of a competition it is at the top. Now let's move on to the favourite of our producer Mr Angeldelayette, the “Rocky Maivia Award”. This award is for that worker who you detest but maybe grow to love, the one that shines through when at first the lights were out. In just a two horse race, being showcased from Japan, here are our nominees…
Jun Akiyama in All Japan Pro Wrestling - 2001: A King's Road Odyssey by Body By THawk
Brock Lesnar in New Japan Pro Wrestling 2009 and Beyond: The Path of Light! by Rhyme1234

And the winner of the award, with 68% of the public votes, Brock Lesnar in New Japan Pro Wrestling 2009 and Beyond: The Path of Light! by Rhyme1234

One day for sure I am aiming to be a legendary writer, one day!

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/heel.png

[Togg:] Speaking of Awards for the worker you use to hate, now we move on to workers you love to hate on. Arguably one of the biggest honours to have placed on you, is creating the baddest S.O.B that every detests, that's no mean feat. It takes skill, consistency and a dedication to pull this off, so please help me welcome the list of nominees for the Heel of the Year Awards…
Jun Akiyama in All Japan Pro Wrestling - 2001: A King's Road Odyssey by Body By THawk
Prince Devitt in New Japan Pro Wrestling 2009 and Beyond: The Path of Light! by Rhyme1234
Riley McManus in The Climb by Historian
The Grapple Goblin in The Wonderful Wizard of Ottawa - Cverse by Pteroid

And the winner of award with 38.5% of the vote, Riley McManus in The Climb by Historian

Theme Music:

[Historian:] I really didn’t expect Riley to win best heel -- although I loved developing his ‘Cornerstone’ persona I didn’t expect it to standout the way it did. I’m glad that it did, because it was some of the most fun I’ve had -- and it also led to me getting to introduce Jeffery Aroma into the organization which was definitely a plus.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/graphics.png

[Togg:] Now to honour those who take their diarys above and beyond, giving a feast for the eyes to see. For some writers, there's a level of flashiness that comes with every great event, show, news bulletin… just overall flashiness. Tonight we have 4 of the great presentational artists from 2018 receiving recognition for all the effort of 2018. So lets welcome the List of Nominees *Coughs*...
WWF 94: New Stars Rising by ZigZagMan
NOTBW - A Game of Stones and DeColts by The Lloyd
WCW - Saving the Legacy (2001) by Togg
WWE: The New Era by Hollywood and ElliotM

What's this? Another tie at the top? whats going on here tonight. The winners, with 41.7% each, The two WELSH diary creators, NOTBW - A Game of Stones and DeColts by The Lloyd and WCW - Saving the Legacy (2001) by Togg

Theme Music:

[Togg:] Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. Anyone who knows my history on GDS will know i started out in Graphics, so if there is any award i would have loved to have won just once, this would be the one. Sharing it with my Neighbour and fellow writer is an honour. It's thanks to him that my diary now has a whole new look for 2019, but don't tell him i said that. Who knew i use to be a graphics guy for you in the WWE Booking days?
Here’s to another tie win for myself… it really is becoming a running joke.

Theme Music:

[Togg:] Sorry there appears to be a technical mishap, please hit his music again.

Theme Music:

[TheLloyd:] I feel honoured to win this award. If I'm not mistaken, it's my first ever one!? And the fact that I've SHARED the win with a guy like Togg makes it mean even more... special... Anyway, I must give a shout out to a few friends from over the years. Kijar, michgcs, Christmas_ape and RKOwnage, wherever they all are, I hope they're doing well. The biggest shout out has to go to King Bison. Without his full body renders of my ENTIRE roster, the graphics I'm able to bodge together wouldn't look anywhere near as good as they do. I also have to thank befunky.com, the website I use to make images for allsorts of things, including pay-per-view graphics, and cutting 150x150 images. Finally, thanks to Togg, who puts a lot of work into the DOTM and DOTY stuff. He deserves a lot of respect for the time he spends doing this for US as a community. Anyway, enough sucking up to the host. Thanks again all. I love doing this, and will continue until I can't anymore. My baby is four days overdue. You might never hear from me again!

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/stable.png

[Togg:] After that, i'm done for the night, thanks guys… *hots earpiece in ear* There's more? You mean i wasn't the Main Event? Who’s in charge around here… Fine, i’ll continue with the awards. Congratulations on the Baby, here's to many sleepless nights, also you can remove your lips from my *** now, you have already won. It's great to share such an award with my neighbour.

Next up we have the Awards for the greatest Stable/Faction of 2018. With so many great Stables, this could have been a flooded category, however we are lucky with the shortlist we have for you… The Nominees are…
DEATHSQUAD in All Japan Pro Wrestling - 2001: A King's Road Odyssey by Body By THawk
Great Bash Heel in New Japan Pro Wrestling 2009 and Beyond: The Path of Light! by Rhyme1234
The Devil's Rejects in The Climb by Historian
The Magnificent 7/Elite Era in WCW - Saving the Legacy (2001) by Togg

Well this has to be the closest top 3 of the evening so far, with a tie for second place between Body By THawk and Myself at 28%, the victory goes to The Devil's Rejects in The Climb by Historian with 32% for his work with The Devil’s Rejects.

Theme Music:

[Historian:] I love Biker stables. DOA. Aces & Eights. Even when they are super cheesy. All four guys are random-gens that I grouped together. A special thanks to King_Bison who made all of the renders for the Devil’s Rejects and took them from random-pictured people into a cohesive group.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/team.png

[Togg:] Sticking with the subject of teams, let's bring our attention to the Best Tag Teams of 2018. Tag Teams can be a tricky avenue for any Pro Wrestling booker, with extra hurdles to deal with such as making sure a team has the right chemistry, to ensuring both halfs stay fit and healthy. It's often a difficult balance but one that our Nominees for tonight managed perfectly. So here are our Nominees for Tag Team of the Year 2018…
Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero in All Japan Pro Wrestling - 2001: A King's Road Odyssey by Body By THawk
TenKoji (Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Satoshi Kojima) in New Japan Pro Wrestling | 2013 | The Golden Era | by Rhyme1234
Ted Brady and Chuck "The Buck" Dorrance in The Wonderful Wizard of Ottawa - Cverse by Pteroid

And giving him his first solo win of the evening, and well deserved it is. With 53.8% of the public votes, Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero in All Japan Pro Wrestling - 2001: A King's Road Odyssey by Body By THawk.

Theme Music:

[body by THawk:] The inspiration on how to book teams came from the greatest team I know: Okada Kazuchika & Gedo. Tandems breakup so they can get back together, and hopefully, one day these brothers will reunite and all will be right in this world.

That is all. Thank you.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/angle.png

[Togg:] Let's move our attention to what we here at the Diary of the Year Awards call… “The Angle”, that moment outside of the bell ringing that makes everyone remember. It could be cutting an insane promo, debuting someone new, a brawl that is unforgettable, the list is endless, so before i join “The List”, let me list the Nominees…

Theme Music:

[to4sty:]

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/story.png

That one Storyline that brings you in and makes you a fan and want to follow it until the end. Another huge and well deserved line up, and it comes with no surprise that there is a long list of Nominees…

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/sturn.png

[Togg:] It's that time of night we know as “Most Shocking”. The next 4 categories will be for the Most Shocking moment in their field. We have the Most Shocking Turn, which gives a nod to a worker who changes his way, be it good or bad, in the most shocking way. We also have the Most Shocking Signing, where a promotion signs the most shocking of all workers who you just didn't see coming. There is also the Most Shocking Push, sometimes a nobody or just the midcard act can be propelled to the top in a shocking turn of events. Finally is the Shocking Title Win, which is for that title win that nobody seen coming. That could be because they were never seen as a threat, because they cashed in a briefcase or even just a quick roll up. Now lets see the list of Nominees for the Most Shocking Turn of 2018…

Theme Music:

[Historian:] Riley’s turn is something I’m proud of. I built to it. It happened at a big show, involved a title change. I was able to turn him from being our top babyface to our top heel and breathe new life into him. I’m glad it was so well received. Thank you for the votes.

*Looks at the results* well someone is doing well this year. Congratulations, with 57.7% of the public vote… Riley McManus in The Climb by Historian

Theme Music:

[Historian:] If you would have told me when I started the Climb that the push of Riley McManus would win a Diary of the Year award, I would have told you you were full of it. We were a local company, he had a little bit of popularity so it started out of necessity. It was an organic push of a guy who just became relied upon because he wasn’t going anywhere and he was good. It turned into the push of a guy who became essential to the company and the organization. Thank you for the votes.

http://homeofprowrestling.com/Graphics/DOTY%20Graphics/DOTY%20Award%20Ceremony/stitle.png

[Togg:] Now from the Most Shocking Title Change, to the Champion of all Champions, the Champion of the Year 2018. With a vast selection to choose from, the shortlist must have been hard for the public to narrow down. To be a champion takes a few short seconds, to become a great champion takes a life times work. [Togg:] Well everyone it's that time of night, we move on to the Big 5. The first of tonight's big 5 is none other than the award for the C-Verse Diary of the Year. It goes without saying that it was a great year for C-Verse Diaries and it's incredible writers. Writers bring to life the fictional characters in a way that you could see the likes of Jack Bruce walking down to the ring in WWE. Both Real World and C-Verse writers should all be proud to make the list and although winning is the ultimate goal, being on the Nominations list is a great second prize. With such a stacked selection it's hard to imagine how anyone could chose a Winner, but luckily for us, the people have spoken in their masses, so please let's take a look at the Nomination list for the C-Verse 2018 Diary of the Year...

Wow what a list, but only one can win. In the runner up position and a well deserved placing for a great year, NOTBW -- A Game of Stones (and DeColts) by TheLloyd. But now for our deserving winner and with 70.8% of the public vote… The Climb by Historian

Theme Music:

[Historian:] Wow. Just wow. This was a stacked lineup with some excellent diaries. DarK_RaideR. The Lloyd. Jon the Goat. Foolinc -- all of them really. Diaries that all stood out and won awards throughout the year. I’m incredibly flattered to win this award. Thank you to all the other diaries and diary writers that produced content. I was able to read and take notes on what was successful and what I liked. Also a special thank you to DarK_RaideR, moafnsteel, and King_Bison. The three of them have been my consistent sounding board for ideas and have given me a lot of feedback over the diary. I did not expect to win this award. When The Climb started, it had an incredibly stripped down presentation. No graphics. Just the default text of matches. Over time, the presentation evolved as the company evolved and I got more comfortable in doing what I was doing. Thank you for the votes.

Your Winner of the Diary of the Year 20-Historian-18… None other than Historian himself, who has prepared a speech for each of his wins.

Theme Music:

[Historian:] I began my diary writing “career” in March of 2018 with “When the Islands Go Wild” -- an attempt to do a local/regional company in Hawaii. It didn’t last very long. Just a handful of shows, but it did give me the bug. It took a few attempts to really find my niche and my footing -- and I’m glad it has been so well received. 2018 was the first year of my diary writing, but it won’t be the last. So thank you to everyone for the votes.

[Historian:] My first DOTY season. Thank you for this one. I use this to mean that people enjoy the growth I’ve shown as a diary writer from When the Islands Go Wild and Amazonas de Lucha Libre that struggled to find their own identity and really channel the style in which I like to write.

[Historian:] Well I’m most proud of winning Worker of the Year for Riley McManus, this is the award that I view as the most prestigious. I’m humbled to win it. I appreciate everyone who voted for me, for everyone who took the time to read The Climb -- or any of the other diaries I produced throughout the year. Who gave feedback, both positive and negative, who sent PMs with feedback. It means a lot. Ultimately, we’re writing about a game and it’s fun and silly but recognition that people are enjoying what I’m doing is very gratifying. I play TEW because I enjoy the game, I write diaries because I love writing and storytelling and trying to construct narratives that make the world feel alive -- because when I play the game I construct narratives in my head to make the characters something more than just guys I’m booking. There are a lot of great writers here on the boards, writers that were nominated. Thank you to them for putting out such quality reads.

[Togg:] Well everyone, that's it for another year. Looking back at 2018, it looks to be a strong year for some of the very best Diaries and the startings of some new and promising Diaries. We also has new names come to the forefront and prove that new dogs can teach the old dogs a few tricks. Seeing some of the names who haven't appeared in the DOTY Before shine bright and Veteran Writers still showing they are the best. Here's to the Diary of the Year 2019 Awards where i’m sure everyone can't wait to join the list that Immortalises you in the GreyDogSoftware and Total Extreme Wrestling History Books. Goodnight Everybody and keep those Nominations for 2019 coming in...

<p>Some very well deserved awards there. I also liked some of the entrance musics <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I did NOT choose that 'I am Welsh' song. But I AM Welsh. Kudos to Togg too, for the time as well as the graphical work. Your presentation always stood out in any of your work that I've followed, and you've given all of this a really cool look. The History Book is really cool too, BTW; anyone who hasn't checked that out should go do so!</p>
