It couldn’t really be happening. My dad, dead… No more than a few days after buying out his competitor. I haven’t really processed everything yet. I’m very cold. Yet here I am in a Lawyer’s office with my mom, sister, and her boyfriend. The Lawyer letting us know what our father has left us.

I am sitting back not processing the things that are getting doled out to everyone a house here, a car there. We haven’t even got the autopsy back yet. It’s all still so fresh, My mother is put together now but I have been tending to her the last few days. My sister has been with Paul, She’s his problem now.

The Lawyer says, that Stephanie is getting WWE. Not really a big shock to me she has always been the princess. I’m sure she will give Paul the book. My career in Wrestling is likely over. This business runs through my veins but what most people don’t know is my sister hates my guts always has. Dad was always harder on me than her. So she doesn’t understand when I call him a dick it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. He was a dick to me it toughened me up, help make into the man I am today. I had stopped listening but Steph started to throw a fit and that snapped me back to the present.

“I’m sorry can you repeat that please.”

It appears the reason Stephanie was throwing a fit was because my father had left me WCW. Not just that, but there is a clause that if this was happening within the first year of the purchase I was to take five people with me to WCW. My head is swimming WCW was damaged goods according to my father. However, I thought the roster had some potential. If I can take five people with me I know I could turn that company around. I told Steph to calm down that I wouldn’t decimate the WWE’s Main Event. That seemed to calm her down. Already like dad thinking about the business not staying in the present. That is what made us different and that is why Dad left me WCW. He knew I would have the patience to work it back up. He liked the competition, once he knew it wouldn’t leave him broke. If Stephanie would just stop being a little b**** she would understand that it’s all in the family now and this is a good thing.

I didn’t think much more about what I was going to do that day, I was too busy tending to Mom lord knows Steph wasn’t going to. I could see the eyes of Paul he’s already planning how to get Steph to say I do he wants the reigns. She will run it but he will be the brains.

A Few days Later

I canceled Nitro for a week I needed to get everything into place. One of the first things I did was send all of our Pay Per Views to the fourth Sunday of the Month, I’m sure that will make my sister happy but I don’t care. I want to give wrestling fans options and if they have the money the ability to buy from both of us. The next thing I did was shift the focus of the company. I don’t want to be WWE lite. So, I’m steering the company away from straight soap opera to more of a work rate promotion. I want to be the wrestling company and let her be the entertainment.

My next step was to put people around me who could help guide me. I’m not arrogant enough to think I can do this on my own. Probably why my father gave me WCW to begin with. Steph is in a turnkey ready promotion she just has to keep the gas going. I have to rebuild my engine and then get it going. My first meeting was with Pat Patterson. I have always looked up to Pat and I need someone in my promotion who can help me. He would also be able to help my roster put together stories in the ring.

Sadly Pat asked me if he could stay in the WWE. He is getting older and wants to stay put. I understood and told him our meeting would remain silent. He thanked me for that. While I will never let my next option know he was my second choice I was still glad he accepted so I didn’t have to go further down my list. One of my five was going to be a man who can help me with a number of things. Mr. Free bird himself. Michael Hayes, he has been in the business a long time, and his knowledge of tag team wrestling should help me repair the tag division that is in shambles. Not to mention he can Road Agent matches for me. Dusty Rhodes is already under contract in WCW so I think I am set in that department for a while.

The next person I reached out to was Mick Foley. I let him know what had happened and the situation I was in. I told him I needed someone to help me stay focused and keep my budget in line. Mick is notorious for being a penny pincher. On top of that though, I could use him to be my own screen authority. I want us to be different so if Steph steps into the evil McMahon role, which I was sure she would. I wanted a fun loving, legend to be my authority, polar opposites, not to mention the knowledge he has of this business. I laid out my plan for Mick, and told him I would have to lean on him if he accepted my offer. He asked if he had to accept or if he could stay. I informed him I would never make someone leave He gave me that sly smile he likes to give the camera. He accepted and took a pay cut. He says we have to think about the long haul. I was relived. He said he had to know I wasn’t going to be a tyrant. He also said he was going to make a phone call that it was time to mend the past. I wasn’t sure what that meant.

So I had two of my five talents to take with me. I reached out to JR but he says he is happy where he is. I won’t lie I would have loved to have him, there is a respect between us though and in the future if he doesn’t like the direction things are going I would still be willing to bring him in.

So I still had three. There wasn’t anyone else backstage I was going to pry from Stephanie. As much as she hated my guts I didn’t want to leave her in a situation she wasn’t ready for so I turned my attention to talent.

In this situation I wasn’t going to be as nice. I told my sister I wouldn’t raid her Main Event. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to take someone from that scene. I need someone to build this ship around. The WCW roster has some people who can be pillars but , they are either old or needs to be built. I wanted someone for the now. I also wanted someone who could be around for a while. So in my mind it came down to three options. Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, or Chris Jericho. All three have pros and cons. I side stepped my sister and called Paul. I let him know my thought process.

He of course wasn’t happy but understood my dilemma, he also said he was surprised I wasn’t going to pry him away. I informed him no matter what my sister says, I want her to be happy and successful and that he would help her do both things. He was silent for a moment no doubt trying to figure out what angle I was playing. The fact was though it was me being straight with him. No doubt he has a bad vision of me from my sister and that is fine in my book. He let me know he wants all three to stay but if I was going to take one then he would prefer it to not be Angle. That he has plans for him long term already. While he has plans for the other two they can be changed easier. I thanked him and was about to hang up when he said he had a question. I told him to go on. He asked why not Steve, Dwayne, or Mark. I once again told him I want my sister and my father’s company WWF to continue to thrive and those three will help her as she gains her feet. I still don’t think he believes me. That’s not my problem though.

So Jericho or Benoit, that’s a tough call. I decide I have already hired Hayes, and Foley, not to mention Dusty Rhodes is still under contract in WCW. I conference call all three and we hash out our selection. Dusty made a great point with what our goals are so I am going to lean on him here. Hayes wanted the other option, while Foley seemed to think we didn’t need either one and should focus on other cheaper options.

I made my choice and hung up with Foley and Rhodes. I told Hayes to hang on. I let him know with my other two my plan was to take a tag team. His voice instantly peaked up and I could tell he was excited. I told him who I wanted and if he could work with them to help develop our tag division to be the envy of the wrestling world. He said he could. He did say he thought another team would be better. I understood what he was saying. I even agreed with him. But I thought these two would get along better with our new face of the company. He never seemed to think about that and agreed with me. I know that Michael isn’t a yes man so the praise was real. So I had my five. Now I had to get to work.

One of the first things we decided to do against the advice of Mick (I feel bad not listening to him on this but he is about to have his day.) was to increase our productions to look professional. WWF has the best of the best and there is no way I’m not going to at least look the part. I have hired the same production company that the WWF uses.

After that I reached out and got our events to be broadcast everywhere but Canada. I was able upgrade to Comcast here in the states that will help increase our reach. Then I did the same things with Nitro got us on TV everywhere I could. We are stuck on FX for now. I even got us a time slot on FX for Thunder. It is going to be a B show, but it should help give our rookies and new talent a place to at least cut their teeth without hurting Nitro.

I then did something most would consider unthinkable I moved Nitro to Tuesday. I don’t want to go head to head with Steph. One day she might tick me off enough for me to move it back to Mondays. For now while I rebuild the brand I want all the eyes I can get on us.

I asked Mick where we could trim some fat to make sure we stay afloat. The first thing he said was talent surprisingly. He said we are still paying Sid and Kevin Nash. That with our new focus they didn’t really fit. I agreed with him not to mention I was still salty about Kevin leaving the WWF and jump starting the Monday night wars. We also cut some of our on air personality’s, announcers, refs etc. It’s never easy to take someone’s livelihood away. While there are other roster member Mick and I talked about we decided to see how they respond to things first. He also suggested that we make a stricter drug testing policy. While it costs money now it is better than having a scandal and bankrupting us. I agree with what he is saying, I remember my father’s legal battles over steroids. I know a lot of wrestlers use them so I am going to put the testing into place and hope they get the hint and stop using without just testing everyone right away. I want to give them a chance to do the right thing.

While it does costs more per show, Mick convinced me to provide some backstage amenities. While it costs more upfront it does keep the boys and I suspect Mick happy. So I have decided to provide transport, hotels, and catering for the boys. I have decided to not allow alcohol drugs or smoking backstage though. That was meet with some groans but the new perks seemed to supersede the negative. I was surprised most of the ways Mick suggested we saved money was to spend it.

Mick then told me it was time to burry a hatchet and he was able to convince someone to join us. If I agreed that was. I was intrigued as Mick screamed to come in. My mouth probably hit the ground I never dreamed I would see the man walking in to the room agreeing to work with us. The man reached his hand across the desk to shake my hand. I picked my jaw off the ground and shook his hand. He gave me a speech about how as much as he hated my dad, his death made him realize life is short and he wanted to do what he loved. I asked in what role did he see himself in? He surprised me once again when he said he wanted to just be a road agent. I agreed to welcome the Hitman to the fold. He has a great mind in the ring and will help our matches greatly. As the hitman left the room Foley said with Bret here he had an idea to run by me. He thinks that as good as Dusty is as an Agent with Hart, Anderson and Hayes here it would make sense to move Dusty to being our Color guy. He said Dusty can still Agent matches from time to time as needed but he thinks Dusty would fit well with Tenay. I sat back and thought about it. He would be a big upgrade on the announce team. I asked him what to do with Heenan. He said to make it a three man booth. That it would be different than the normal two man booth that WWF ran. I have decided to try it for a while anyway. I called Dusty in and explained to him the plan. He was excited about it surprisingly.

Later in the week, I called a meeting of the brain trust Dusty told me Arn Anderson was under contract as a road agent which made me happy I thought he was gone for some reason. Arn is a solid hand and will be useful backstage. I can’t believe I forgot about him considering Foley mentioned him the other day to me. I guess to much is going on with my dad’s processing for me to be 100% on top of it. I’m glad I have some good men helping me. I also invited Ric Flair and Sting to join us. They are who people think of when you hear WCW. I wanted their input on who to offer jobs to. We made a list of mostly young guys in the industry we thought would work in WCW and my vision for it going forward. During this meeting we also decided to end the Cruiserweight division for now. I don’t plan to do away with the cruiserweight style by any means I just think the talent in that division can compete with anyone on the roster. If our bigger guys can’t figure out how to mesh the styles maybe they aren’t who we need.

We also decided to send some men to Wildside to season up and help coach down there. Air Paris, AJ Styles, Alan Funk, Chris Harris, David Flair, Evan Karagias, James Storm, Jamie Tucker, Johnny Swinger, Johnny the Bull, Kid Romero, Lash Leroux, Mark Jindrak, Mark Johnson, Reno, Shannon Moore, and Jimmy Yang have been send down to develop. While upon the encouragement of Foley and Rhodes I sent Fit Finlay, and Norman Smiley down as coaches. I could think of some good ideas for Finlay so it took a while before I conceded to send him. I also had watched AJ in the ring and wanted to keep him up, Arn and Hayes had to talk me into sending him down. I don’t think I will be able to leave him down there for long though.

Sting and Flair wished me luck, and both have said they have considered retiring but that Dusty, and Hayes have talked them in to giving me a chance. Everyone left the room except Hayes who came and said he had some plans for the tag division. We hashed out some things and I was left to think about the future. I was amazed at how fast everything was moving. I guess that is what my dad loved about this business.

After talking to the brain trust I had to call our tag champs and Booker T. I vacated the Tag, and US titles. I told booker he was still our world champion because I didn’t want the diehard WCW fans to think I wanted to destroy everything the company stood for. Palumbo and O’Hair were upset about vacating the titles. However after I explained to them a few things I had planned they got over it.

Arn brought me back a bit of news the next day. He said Jeff has been spending some time at the gym and it is really paying off. He says he is getting more muscular and is starting to look like a star. I already had plans to use J double early and often so this was good to hear.

I heard that Jamie Noble set up a poker tournament for the boys for the missed week of Nitro. Locker room leadership like that isn’t going to go unnoticed in my WCW.

Now I just had to wait on the contract negotiations and my first Nitro in power.

WCW Nitro #1

In my First Nitro I opened the show with Mick by my side. I thanked the audience for giving me a chance. Having Foley next to me gave me credibility. I told the fans that they wouldn’t be seeing me very often as I was going to let Mick run Nitro and Thunder. However, I did announce we would be having a US Title Tournament but assured the crowd that Booker was still their world champion. I also announced that we had no tag team champions going forward and that we would see how the tag scene develops during the next couple of months. I also said that some of my friends would be joining us at Genesis. (B)

As I was heading to the back Scott Steiner came out and let Mick know that Booker wasn’t really injured he was just ducking a genetic freak and that Foley should just give him the title. Foley said he had talked to Book and that he would be ready to go for the first PPV under new leadership at Genesis! (B+)

US Title Tournament Rey Misterio over Kaz Hayashi (C+)

We went backstage and Buff and Lex strutted around and said they were going to be going strictly as a tag team going forward. ( C )

Us Title Tournament Sean O’Haire over Chuck Palumbo after a low blow( C )
O’Haire continued to beat his old partner after the match. (C-)

Shane Douglas comes out and runs down Bam Bam stating that he carried him for years. (B-)

Locker Room Leader’s (Hugh Morris and Konnan) Over Totally Buff ( C )

DDP comes out and thanks the crowd for allowing him to do what he does. As Diamond is playing to the crowd JJ comes out and nails him with a guitar from behind leaving him down and out. JJ grabs the mic and says he isn’t going to be overshadowed and there is no better man to prove that against than DDP. (B-)

Us Title Tournament- Shane Helms over Chavo Guerrero JR with a sunset flip. (C+)

*Earlier tonight flashes across the screen*. Dustin Rhodes can be seen talking to his father the American Dream. Kanyon attacks Dustin from behind and puts him through a table. Kanyon then says he is putting Rhodes through hard times. (C )

Us Title Tournament- Lance Storm Over Billy Kidman (C+ )

Ric Flair comes out and says he didn’t know if he would ever step foot in a WCW ring again. It is hard for the Nature Boy to deal with having lost to Sting on what was originally the last Nitro. He thinks that at Genesis Sting and Flair should kick off the new WCW…. Sting simply walks out to the ramp points at Natch and nods. (B +)

Overall Show Grade B-

That Night.

I walk into an office room in the arena. Mick, Dusty, Arn, Michael, and Bret are all waiting for me. I slam the door behind me. The men in the room were startled by this as I paced back and forth.

“ I should be over the moon tonight. Do you know why I am not? Buff and Lex both got popped for hard drugs. I had big plans for them even though they don’t fit what we plan to do. I have half a mind to fire both right now. “ Dusty stands up “Now you listen here boi. You just helped put Dubya C Dubya back on the map. Don’t let them two ruin yar night. They are old school wrastlers, they don’t know ya mean business yet.” Mick nods in agreement. “I know there work rates won’t be there but, they have a lot of rub to give. Set an example. Let the boys know that you want what’s best for people make them go to rehab if they refuse I will fire them for you. “

Michael slides a paper over to me. Maybe this will help brighten your mood. This is the list we just signed to Wild side.

Michael begins to speak. “Solid bunch for sure, lower on the card for now but talented men. Now for a bit of bad news, Steph did sign Curt, as well as a number of other big name older guys.” I run my hand threw my hair. “ I can’t blame Curt I know she offered more than I did. I would have given him a better last run, but money talks.”

Bret rocks back in his chair. “We did get that one guy though.” I look at him and cock an eyebrow. “Really?” Bret just nods “I was watching some old tape of him teaming with Bam Bam too, and they had good chemistry.”

Overall I was pleased with my first Nitro and the events leading up to and after it. We are now on our way to Genesis. We are truly just beginning.

OOC:

I know that Shane has been nice to Steph so far in this Diary, don’t expect that to continue, I am playing this that Shane is still in a bit of shock and trying to keep the family together. All of that will come to a head near the end of the calendar year and some fireworks will go off. I don’t want to give it away though just have faith that it is going somewhere.

Also I am not going to recap after ever show like this. I plan to run my Nitro’s give brief descriptions on storylines, and only really go into detail on the PPV’s. I am playing with a few different writing styles currently, I will get into a grove eventually.

If it happens again I will send him to rehab I hope he understands I’m not playing. The only reason he isn’t gone now is that I have plans I can’t easily change with him gone. I have had this idea for a while, TFC's great diary inspired me to give it a shot. I hope I can entertain people with it.

This is interesting. Hopefully we get to see WCW reach National. I can't see how anyone can beat WWE in national battle with Austin and Rock's star quality.

I really am preparing myself to reach National and fall back to cult at least once if not twice. I have an advantage being that I did "Steal" 3 people that will help greatly once I get them built up.

I was out on Stage as the PPV started. This is likely the last time I will be on Camera for a while. I went for the cheap pop and plugged Atlanta. I said that WCW was born in Atlanta, and now it’s rebirth is happening here again. I went on for a while about my vision for the company. What I expected for the company and for this night. I let the long time WCW fans know that I understood there hesitance with a McMahon at the helm but I assured them I wasn’t my father. I let them know that I love this business and I plan to make it thrive.

We decided to have this match open off the show as it should showcase good wrestling and the feud had some heat on it. Not to mention WCW and WWF fans would know who Dustin Rhodes was. I wanted to be able to relate to both sets of fans.

The match itself was a good mix of technical wrestling and hard hitting brawling. Each man did a good job of making they both got in some good offence to show off their abilities. In the end Kanyon was able to reverse a roll up and grabbed onto the ropes for added leverage that the ref missed for the three count.

We shift backstage and see Booker T walking in the parking garage with the World Title over his shoulder. Then from behind Scott and Rick lay into him. Scott throws Booker into a car windshield shattering it. The Steiner’s keep the attack up until security shows up to haul them away. Medical crews are working on Booker as we go back to ringside.

DDP is backstage doing an promo on JJ. Jarrett comes into the picture and says that tonight they will find out who is the better man. DDP informs Double J that they will indeed find out who that man is. That if Double J plans to do anything in this company he better be ready because in an instant it can all before with a BANG! The two have a stare down as the camera goes back to ringside.

Rock N Roll Express vs. The Locker Room Leaders

We hired the Rock N Roll Express on a one night deal. They are one of the best tag teams in the history of the business, and some of the older fans would pop for them. They are veterans so they know how to work even if they are getting up there in years. The played there old school heel gimmick here. While this is one of the shortest matches of the night I think the fans responded well to it. There was never a doubt of the winners though as Hugh Morrus picked up the pin.

Shane Douglas is backstage he is flanked by Make Awesome, Chris Candido, and Tammy Sytch. He goes on a tirade on how he carried ECW, and now is going to carry WCW because he is a true franchise player. He says he isn’t going to do it alone though. He says he has found two men who he trust to carry this company into the future with. They are the New Triple Threat.

Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Shane Douglas

This is a hard hitting fast paced match. Bret might have set the pace a bit to fast remember what Bam Bam used to be able to pull off because he was gased at the end. He is likely on drugs and I will have to send him to rehab as well. The Match still went off as well as I really expected. This was part of a bigger plan to begin with so it is what it is. In the end Shane picks up the win.

After the match the Triple Threat lays waste to Bam Bam. 3 on 1 isn’t fair for anyone. That is when Walk by Kilgore blasts over the arena’s PA System. Our announce team did a good job selling on who it could be to come and help Bam Bam

RVD comes out to a loud pop and runs to the ring. He clears the ring of the Triple Threat with Bam Bam help.

We go backstage to see Dustin Rhodes searching for Kanyon. Dustin finnaly catches up to him and grabs his trunk and pulls up screaming that Kanyon cheated. Kanyon just shurgs. He said he did what he had to do. That Dustin is a disgrace to the Rhodes legacy. Dustin pops Kanyon and the two have to get separated.

Jeff Jarrett vs. DDP

This match surprised me in how good they both told the story. There was good heat for only three weeks of buildup and they both came out of it looking better than they went in. After a hard fought match DDPS is able to land a Diamond Cutter out of nowhere surprising Double J for the win.

Foley comes out and hypes up the Finals of the United States Tournament. He talks about the legacy of the title and the ability of each man to be able to walk away with right here in ATLANTA GEORGIA. He then smiles and presents the Belt to the crowd.

Rey Mysterio vs. Sean O’Haire

The Finals of our tournament proved to be the best match of the whole thing. The brain trust had a few different ideas at the start of the tournament. However, it was my choice to push O’Haire to the finals. The others wanted Lance Storm. I understood their arguments but I see something special in Sean time will tell. The match was the classic David vs. Goliath story. Rey tried to chop the big man down, and the few times Sean did catch the faster man he would show his strength. In the end though Rey was able to catch O’Haire with a hurricanrana for the win.

Foley presented Rey with the Title after the match and congratulated him on a job well done. After Rey left high fiving fans up the ramp Foley kept talking. He said he had bad news that the attack earlier tonight has left Booker T unable to wrestle tonight so there would be no world title match. The master that he is kept talking before the fans could lose it. He said that he isn’t giving Scott Steiner the night off though. He says that He has found a suitable replacement to have a great match with Scott NEXT! The fans start to mummer, and then the lights go out. A guitar rift starts that brings the fans to their feet. Pyro and a light show start at the top of the stage. Then a head can be seen coming up from the stage, his back is to us, but there is no deny who it is.

Chris Jerico is on the top of the ramp with a microphone. He says he is back in WCW that he is back to turn this company into Wrestling is Jericho. He says he should be getting added to a world title match but he will do with defeating the man with more muscles than Hercules.

Chris Jericho vs. Scott Steiner

The fans are still buzzing as this match begins. What a match it is. The two men gave everything they had to give the fans a great match. Scott even sold Jericho’s offense which would have never happened in the WCW of the past. That helped me know that everyone in the company was all in with my vision. These two went back and forth for over twenty minutes really giving the crowd peaks and valleys. In the end, after a number of near falls from both guys Steiner picks up the win with a foot on the ropes for more leverage.

After the match Jericho started to beat down Scott Steiner, two men from the crowd hoped in and started to help him. Dusty, Heenan and Tenay are losing their minds as it starts to become apparent who the two men that are helping Jericho are.

Edge and Christian have come to the aid of Chris Jericho and the beat Scott down until he doesn’t move. Jericho picks up a microphone and lets the crowd know that he isn’t here to play mister nice guy. He didn’t come alone. He says he is sick and tired of Canadians being joked about being weak so he has created the Canadian Coalition. They are going to be the best wrestlers in the world today. He dropped the mic as the announcers start to talk about what we just heard.

Sting vs. Flair

Before we have the match we show a video of the two Icon’s that goes over very well with the crowd.

The match itself was better than it had any right being given the age of the two involved. Sting carried the match in terms of performance as he seems to be having a career second wind and is still great in the ring. Flair though is starting to fade but he is still one of the best to ever do it. This is a classic WCW match that most wrestling fans have seen before. In the end Flair was forced to tap to the Scorpion Deathlock.

Immediately following Genesis.

As Sting and Flair came through the curtain they were meet with a round of applause from the locker room. Everyone except Bam Bam (Who was already on his way to rehab) was in attendance, so I took the chance to give a quick speech to the roster. I congratulated everyone on a great show and said that WCW is back and we proved that tonight. That roster responded with cheers and applause. I then gave Foley a hug and let him know he did a great job hyping the boys tonight on the microphone. I then congratulated Rey and let him know that we have big plans for him and that title. Lastly I pointed out Scott as a good example putting over our new talent, and being all over the show.

I am sitting in my office going over the reports. We had lost money our first month, but that was mainly due to having to cancel a Nitro, and the number of big contracts we terminated. Legally I suppose I didn’t have to pay those men, but I did, McMahon’s pay their family’s debts. Overall I am pleased with our first month. Now It is revealed the three men I took with me from WWE. Our story is now about to pick up. Our roster has shifted a bit, that is likely due to some of our suspensions. I won’t lie losing Buff, Luger, and Bam Bam wasn’t part of my plan. Yet I hope they come back with their heads back on straight if not stiffer penalties will follow. RVD didn’t get as big of a reaction as I had hopped but putting him into a program against the new Triple Threat should raise all of their profiles.

I got a report that CM Punk has been seen hanging out with Rey I hope that Punks real life straight edge life style will start to rub off on some of the other guys on the roster. I want it to clean up quickly.

I really want to get our tag scene going but there just isn’t a ton we can do about it right now. I have a few ideas and Michael even came to me with an idea that has some legs we just have to find the right people to run it with. That will be a focus on house shows coming up trying to find some tag teams to move forward with.

We hired a lot of people for developmental this month. I also have worked out a trade with NJPW for Jushin Thunder Liger for Big Vito and Alex Wright. Liger will help us in our relaunch of the TV Title. I don’t want to do another tournament so we have been figuring out creative for that.

My sister had a good month as well. Judgement day was a big show it had Austin going over Rikishi in the Main Event, It was even the match of the night that is all on Steven. Things haven’t really slowed down without dad. It’s going to be interesting to see what my sister and Paul come up with going forward.

He explained that while it might not be on EVERY show it would be on the majority. To make it better the title would be on the line TONIGHT! (B+) TV Title Match: Liger over Kidman, Hayashi ,& Helms the announce team did a good job explaining who Liger was and how big of a deal he was in Japan. The match was amazing as all four men put the title on the map as a title made for men who can wrestle. (B-) Kaz beats down Liger after the match Hayashi is frustrated with his loses mounting. He let that frustration out on Liger. (D) E&C over Knobel and Vito. Edge and Christian showed how great they are as a tag team in this match, Knobel and Vito didn’t have any chemistry. (B-) Sean O’Hair does a promo stating that Chavo is a loser and he isn’t telling you anything you didn’t already know.(B-) We shift to ringside and see the Triple Threat where they hype themselves up. Douglas says he has helped Bam Bam find himself just like he is going to help that over energetic ass hat RVD learn the same thing. If he can get through the triple threat. All four member hold up the three (C ) RVD over Candidio- a solid match where RVD had to keep his eye on ringside. (B-) Storm over Corino and CM Punk (C ) Foley comes out and lets Lance know he is the new number one contender for the US Title. (B-) Flair over DDP Flair and DDPs had some beef from the 3 on 3 match and settled it this week in the ring. Paul and Steph are already flaunting my choice in front of my face. Over the course of the month Dustin Rhodes, Bret Hart, Scott Steiner, and Booker T have all said I should release Kid Kash. It makes me wonder what he is up to that they all don’t like him. However if he is causing this much of an issue I will have to evaluate his performance for us. Ernest Miller tested positive for drugs after Genesis so I suspended him for the month. The Great American Bash is set. I am trying to finfish up old storylines and give them a real good last run before I start going full blast with my teams ideas. While not every story will be over, some of them will . I thought about renaming the Great American Bash, but I don’t want to change to much overnight. I can’t afford to alienate long time WCW fans. Bret’s father Stu died and he has been at home taking care of his family during this time. He has been in contact as says he will be here for the Bash. I told him he didn’t have to which he appreciated but said it would be a welcome distraction. That family has been through a lot over the last year. Scott Steiner said that Rey is to small and has no muscles so I should cut ties with him. I just told Scott he had enough muscle for him and Rey. All four men really gave it everything they had in this match to give the crowd something different. I was glad I had this match follow Sting and Flair as it helped to show that WCW isn’t a one trick pony that we want good wrestling even if that wrestling has different styles involved. Liger was a fighting champion but on this night it just wasn’t enough. Aftermath of Great American Bash. We had our best show to date. Steph decided to run king of the ring alongside us and overall the dirt sheets thought our show was better. That won’t sit well with her or Paul. However, they had phoned in this year’s king of the ring. They don’t see me as a threat yet. That is a mistake because we have some real talent here. I feel like we have some interesting stuff going forward. After the show I pointed out Scott as a good example for putting over Booker and Jericho when I know he didn’t want to. I gave Edge and Christian props for a good performance. They all seemed to enjoy the praise. Overall I didn’t have a lot to complain about my vision was slowly taking place. I had the TV title to start putting over our younger and up and coming talent. I made sure to thank Jushin Liger for coming over and assured him he would be welcome anytime and called NJPW and let them know I had used up our trade dates with Liger. Our US Title is showing some great wrestling and fueds. Overall my team is making sure to keep us on track. I didn’t make any hires this month. While WWE added Marty Janetty and some other old timers. We made a profit this month, that is a good feeling. Things are working. My phone rings it is Steph I lean back and place it on speaker in my office propping my feet up on the desk. “What’s up Sis how are things?” She responds in her normal snarky voice. “We are a runaway train brother nothing can stop us. Paul and I are going to make the WWE bigger than dad could have dreamed.” I snorted dad had truly Global aspirations. But whatever floats her boat I suppose. “So what do I owe this call for?” I snide. Steph comes back with “I just thought you should know, I plan to challenge you getting WCW in court. WCW is a WWE property it was absorbed into our books. I became sole owner I don’t think you should have this little pet project of yours?” I sit up and keep myself calm. I have had a number of lawyers look over everything to make sure there was no case for this. “ Steph there is no case for this. What do you gain for this anyway?” “ I get to prove that you are a loser, and I want to watch WCW die for what it did to our family.” I respond keeping calm. “you mean make us all millionaires?” She huffs. “See you in court big brother.” She hangs up. I knew that my sister was a vindictive bitch, but this is over the line even for her. ** A few days later ** My Lawyers assured me there was nothing Stephanie could do. However, the fact that she even was trying a power move, told me she was scared of competition. I have done everything I can do to get out of that role, moved nitro, moved our ppv’s I’m not sure what else I could have done to have eased her uneasiness of having to work for a living. The fact is her roster has been producing over the last couple of months. I have shelved the issue for now. I am still very worried that she is going to try and do something underhanded to me. I will have to keep my head on a swivel for a while. In other news around the world. All Japan has made Keihi Muthoh their new figurehead. A Shane McMahon Diary entry

I gave a radio interview the other day and I guess I forgot I am running the company and not just the bosses kid because it has gotten around. I didn’t say anything bad, but I did answer some questions that while out to the diehard fans and the boys in the back hadn’t been firsthand knowledge. I have to be more careful in the future Steph is just waiting for me to make a misstep to crush me with.

The biggest of those slip ups, was that the contracts of Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Macho Man, and most notably Hulk Hogan were at home collecting Time Warner checks because they were on their books and not WCW’s when my dad bought the company. While the likes of Flair, Sting, and Scott Steiner accepted buy outs from me to come work for me immediately. I also let slip that I had given each of them a back door out if they didn’t like the direction things were going. Understandably this has had a mixed reaction to my backstage. Some of the guys respect the three that accepted the buy outs, and are upset with the men who balked. While others are upset they didn’t have a choice. Overall the locker-room is strong enough to withstand the hubbub.

Of course the other question was if I was in contact with the men who didn’t take the buyout. I gave a bit of a smart ass response. Honestly, I am in touch with a number of talent both free agent and under contract around the globe. I make sure not to tamper, people need to remember I was friends with a lot of people in the business before I became an owner and those relationships don’t just go away.

I also answered questions about my sisters attempted lawsuit to reacquire WCW. I simple said I wasn’t allowed to give any information, but then asked the host if I would have really of gone through the trouble of starting things back up if I didn’t have complete control and left it at that. My sister has been more aggressive in the past weeks though. She is out for blood. I am not sure why she is hell-bent on destroying me.

They tried to pry some plans out of me, and my thoughts on current talent, I didn’t give them anything on either of those topics. I’m not one to talk about someone behind there back. I’m man enough to do it to their face.

Ultimately I think this was correct. It also showed me who was really here for the company, I asked every member of the match to take a stunt bump and only Helms, Knoble and Kidman said they would. I obviously wouldn’t haven’t everyone do that. Helms was the most eager so I allowed him to take the fall. The match itself was faced pace with a lot of carnage around the ring. With body’s laid out around ringside we had Kaz and Billy Kidman on top of the ladder exchanging blows. Kidman delivers a side kick with one leg that is able to dislodge Kaz. Palumbo shows up and nails both men from behind sending them toppling down. Both men then turn their attention to Chuck. In the ring RVD has Douglas down and has climbed to the top of the cage. He looks down at Douglas in the middle of the ring sprawled out and then down to the outside. He then looks back to Shane and stands up on the corner of the cage. The crowd starts to go nuts as RVD points to himself three times as the crowd belts out his name. He leaps off with a five star frog splash off the top of the cage landing on Shane. Palumbo is down on the outside as Awesome and Candido are trying to break into the cage. JJ controls the early portion of the match attacking the legs and back of DDP. The whole time Dallas would fight back playing the veteran. DDP takes control the longer the match goes on. He is giving everything he has to prove he still belongs on the top of the WCW landscape. A poke to the yes reverse the momentum for Double J who is able to get the Figure Four on in the middle of the ring. Rey at one points lands on all three men who were outside the ring. Rey rolled in Lance who was closest to the ring. Chavo and O’Haire start to get to there feet as the ref tells them to get into the ring. Rey gets to his feet on the other side of the ring and catches a spear from Edge who jumped the guard rail. The ref never saw it. Christian who also jumped the rail rolled Rey into the ring. The ref turns around to see Rey rolling into the ring but doesn’t see Edge and Christian. O’Haire lays out Chavo and turns into a spear of his own. It has been hyped as the last time these two do battle and I believe that is a true statement. Sting carries the match in terms of performance as it has become clear that Flair has lost a step, and is yet still great in the ring. Sting gets Flair into the Scorpion death lock in the middle of the ring but the pride of Flair is to strong to tap out. Booker was never able to mount to much offense as every time he started to get some steam Jericho would pull out an underhanded tactic to stall his offense. Jericho looked every bit the pro in the ring, while Booker looked like a young lion of a champion. The battle raged back and forth. The Canadian Coalition started to come down to ringside when Sting descended from the rafters cutting Edge, Christian and Lance off with his signature bat in hand. He just waived the bat back and forth in a no motion. Jericho sees what is going on and starts to scream at Sting. He turns around and catches a big kick sending him to the ground. Booker heads to the top and hits the Harlem hangover as the Coalition is in no state to help him. They rush forward but are meet by Sting who rams the bat into Christian’s stomach, he then starts to battle Lance and Edge.
