The Company:

Championship Pro Wrestling

Championship Pro Wrestling at one moment in time was considered the biggest promotion in the world after opening its doors in 1953. They were the measuring stick for what the world of professional wrestling should resemble for several years, but like with most stories, it has a middle. The founder, Samuel Carter, who a legendary ring technician was very stuck in his ways as a person and as a businessman. Having been at the pinnacle of the sport for so long he took the approach that it wasn’t broke don’t fix it. However, he couldn’t see that his company was slowly losing ground. Even when a rival company AWF started to thrust them to the wayside he stayed unwilling to adapt with the ever-changing landscape.

He would stubbornly hold onto his position as the head writer until his failing health finally forced him into retirement in 1996 at the ripe old age of 82. From the moment that he left the company was in a total downward spiral as several attempts were made to revive the brand, but the company was plagued by mismanagement and backstage politics would send the once titan in the business into the void of obscurity. That was until, Rick Holden, a clever businessman took the reigns of the company in 2006 ten years to the date of Samuel Carter’s retirement. From the outside, it looks like he steadied the ship and started the company's rise from the dead, but they are still a shadow of their former glory.

Heyman E. Danger

Over the course of my decades (to come at this time) in the business, I will have garnered praise as one of the great creative minds in the history of all professional wrestling. My booking prowess will be herald as legendary, but more than that I will be revered as one of… if not the top drawing manager. Some will say it’s because I’m a tactician for my clients with master salesmanship. However, I think the answer is easier found in my past… as a food service manager where the mantra is drilled into that the customer is always right, to believe their story, and give them what they want.

Dear reader,

I would just like to thank you for picking up the memoirs of my time as the head writer and head of talent relations in the world of professional wrestling. I never thought that I would get hired when I applied for the position. As I didn’t have any kind of experience unless you count the hours that I spent staying up until four in the morning writing role-plays and fantasy wrestling “television” shows as a hobby. My day job was just that of a shift manager for a local pizza place, but writing and wrestling were always my passion. So when I went in for my interview with Mister Rick Holden, I expected him to laugh me out of the office.

However, that didn’t happen much to my shock. He did tell me that he would be amiss if he didn’t worry about my lack of hands-on experience writing for an actual company, but he couldn’t deny that I had a natural talent for storytelling and my fantasy booking from the examples of my writing that I sent to him and that he would be a fool to let me walk out the door without giving me a chance. So at that moment, he hired me, but on a provisional basis at the moment. I wouldn’t have much say in things at first, but that if I delivered I could possibly have the world handed to me. He then informed me that I wouldn’t be starting right away because the current writer was finishing up his last week at the moment.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Looking at the roster and who was all the champions were very informative to say the least for me, but I knew if I really wanted to understand who was who I’d have to sit in on this week’s Creative meeting. When I showed up at the meeting the writer that I’m replacing didn’t look to thrilled that I was there, but welcomed me in to the room.

The meeting started with them putting the focus on who they think are the “Franchise” players of the company. Which considering that the five names that they brought up: Adrian Hurst, Mike Young, Chris Pressler, Rick Young, and Ron Castle. I couldn’t argue with a single name on the list. Even though they said that Pressler is the top heel at the moment. Which to me undercuts Rick Young a little bit considering that not only is he our World champion, but he’s the leader of the Inner Circle that Pressler is a member of.

Other than that, the only other thing that really stood out was the fact that youngest one of them is Castle at forty two years old. Now I know that as Franchise players they should have some seasoning on them, but at the same time it’s a little depressing for me. Even though I’m just supposed to be sitting in on the meeting I raised the question of who was the companies’ rising stars were.

I don’t know if it was because I was speaking out of turn or what, but no one answered me. They didn’t have a single person on their radar as a possible replacement for the fossils. It’s in that moment I realized why CPW was in so much trouble and why they were willing to give me a chance.

The conversation moved on a little bit to “Hot Prospects”… at least they had a couple of names as who could at least become a star of the company, but maybe not a top guy. However, when I hear their names I realize that they aren’t really all that young either. Peiro Medici is nearly 30 years old at 28 and then E.S. Cormier who is 25 years old.

The meeting when to wrestlers that can really connect to the crowd. No surprise that Hurst and Mike Young are on the short list, but I have to say I’m surprised that they think Casanova and Shannon Thompson are in the same league.

Show stealers no surprise that Mike Young the king of all spot monkeys makes the list. This is where the younger blood starts to shine through with Casanova, Devon Lockhart, and Lucas Fernion making the list with it being rounded off with Chris Pressler of all people.

At that moment I kind of zoned out, because I was really not hearing anything that I didn’t already know. My ears didn’t perk back up until I heard mention of some names that could be a good idea to pursue for future employment. However, considering how set in their ways this creative team is… I would be surprised to hear a bunch of names older wrestlers. So needless to say hearing, Floyd Hart, Cornbread Grits Jr., Logan Prince, Samoan Studd, and Clayton Purdy got my attention.

After that I kind of just zoned out again thinking about the first couple of moves that I was going to make. So I never heard anything about what was going on with the show tonight. Which as I was walking to seat in the audience, because I was also planning on watching the show first hand to get a view for it from a fan’s perspective. However, not hearing anything about the show got me feeling a little worried about. In that worry I went to Mr. Holden’s office to see if I could get a peek at the script for tonight. Never did I imagine that before I made it to his office that I would see him rushing towards me.

“Thank god! You’re still here!” He exclaimed, looking more than a little flush in the face from not only the running that he was doing, but I’m guessing from being extremely pissed off.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, even though I didn’t have to hazard much of a guess. I figure it had something to do with the show considering that he was glad that I was still in the building. That’s when I noticed that he was holding onto a single piece of paper in his left hand. Which he promptly handed to me. The first thing that I noticed was the CPW’s letter head on it and two simple, but very colorful words printed out on the paper.

“The writer handed that to me and then walked out.” Holden said, still a little bit out of breath. “He left and he left without leaving us a show to put on.”

“That…” I was about to use some colorful language, but I composed myself. I didn’t want to look unprofessional in front of the man that was my boss.

“I know its short notice and you’re not supposed to start till the next show, but…” He didn’t have to finish asking before I knew what he wanted.

“Point me to a computer, get me some Pepsi, and some m&m’s.” I said, and Mr. Holden just looked at me like I had grown another chin on my face for a moment. Which considering that I already have a double chin… it’s probably not too far away from happening it. Once he collected himself he pointed me to the closest room with a computer. Years from now people look back at the moment that Heyman E. Danger became the Mad Genius of Professional wrestling. As I hammered out a rough script so the guys would know what was going on I heard chattering outside the room. The guys were worried about the show bombing, because of me, but a referee Alvarro Piqao was trying his best to lighten the mood doing funny carton renderings of everyone. I smiled when I saw one that he’s already done of myself. It was flattering and come to think of it… might have been where the nickname Mad Genius came from. When Mr. Holden brought me, my other requests he informed me that if I desired I could write myself in to the show as a “bonus” for starting early.

CPW Thursday Night Tradition

Friday, Week 1, 2018

The Cambridge Elysium

Attendance: 2,790

Tradition started off with a couple of dark segments. The first one being the owner, Rick Holden, making his way out to the ring. He greeted them to show and announce that tonight would be a changing of the guard of sorts. Things were going to start changing for the better and the CPW was never going to be looked upon as the joke of professional wrestling ever again.

Rating: C 64

E.S Cormier V.s. Zander Renwick

The first match of the night, was of course a dark match that saw the youngest member of the roster getting a chance to show what he could do. Not only that, but he came out with a manager by the name of, Heyman E. Danger. My years of being a shift manager at a pizza joint really helped, because I could really connect with the fans to give them wanted they needed from me as the manager. I really think that I helped the match, because the reaction to it was decent despite the fact that wrestling in the ring wasn’t the best. Renwick picked up the pinfall.

MAIN SHOW

‘White Trash Millionaire’ blares through the arena and everyone in attendance knew what that meant. The CPW World Champion, Rick Young was on his way out to the ring. He of course went down to the ring with little fanfare, but he commanded respect as he carried his championship over his shoulder. I didn’t write anything for him to say during the segment, because I wanted to see what he could do without any direction. He delivered well as he talked about how he put his brother out to pasture and that there was no one in the locker room currently that can currently give him a run for his money. So that he had to go out of his way to pay some local hack to the show tonight to challenge for his title.

He was just about to drop the name of his opponent, when he’s interrupted by ‘Stairway to Heaven’. Adrian Hurst make his way out on to the stage and much like Young he didn’t have a script to follow. Also just like Young he improvised very well as he tore down the champion. He told Rick that it must be nice to play fight with his brother and hand pick opponents when there are better and more deserving challengers. Rick fired back like you old timer? Hurst volleyed you’re no spring chicken yourself. Hurst then laid out the reason why he was out here and that was to ask him to not go through with the mockery of a title defense tonight against a local to give him a shot at the title. Rick just laughed at him and told him no, but before Hurst could continue the exchange Rick made a signal and event staff made their way out on to the stage to pull Hurst to the back.

Rating: B+ 87

Julian Oslin Vs. Beanie Cal

I have to say that in hindsight I didn’t book, but not every match can be a winner. Especially with hiring a local tonight to feed to Oslin. The match cooled the crowd a little bit from the great opening. Largely due to the fact that the match had little interest in it, but even more than that the action in the ring was more than embarrassing. Oslin picked up the victory.

Rating: E 26

‘Say You’ll Haunt Me’ by Stone Sour starts to play through the building as a limping, Mike Young, makes his way down to the ring. He apologizes to everyone that had hoped that he could take the title from his brother. He says he isn’t out here to make excuses, but to make a vow that he isn’t out of the fight yet. He mentions the exchange from the opening and acknowledges that he might not get another shot right away, but… he’s cut off by the sounds of Ron Castle’s theme song. Castle goes all the way down to the ring and joins Mike it. I have to say early on Mike was killing it by improvising everything and when Castle joined the fray he just continued to build on that success.

Castle tells Mike he’s not the only one that heard what Hurst had to say about the champion and the very man in front of him and he agrees that nepotism is what’s killing the CPW. Castle is about to tell Young that he’s going to make it his personal mission to eradicate not only the Inner Circle, but Mike Young as well from the company. However, he is interrupted by the sounds of both members of Heavy Duty laughing over their own mics from the stage. Singer and Pressler both echo the same sentiment that many have tried, but none have ever succeed and someone like Castle was going to be the first. The both of them just helped knocking this segment out of the park that it wasn’t funny. It’s definitely helped recover from the folly of the first match of the night.

Mike then threw down the gauntlet to both members of Heavy Duty for a tag team match, but not tonight. He continued that it kills him that he can’t wrestle here tonight, but he still needs to recover a little more for his war with his brother. The former tag team champions just laugh again and then tell them that neither one of them is on their level, but if they want to lead themselves to a slaughter it’s going to happen on a bigger stage than Tradition, but only if at least one of them can beat one of them in a singles match.

Rating: B 80

After a brief commercial, Tradition returns with myself, Heyman E. Danger, standing on the stage with a mic in hand. Earlier, I was out there during a dark match with just early arrivers, but now everyone that had bought a ticket was in their seats. My heart was pounding in my chest as I didn’t expect this… the thing with Cormier is a pet project, but this is the big time. My big “client” you could say. I introduce everyone to myself officially as Voice of the stars of tomorrow. Again I have to thank my years of thankless service in the food industry, because I had everyone eating out of my hand. I wasn’t killing the crowd I was actually setting them on fire, and then I brought my client out: Lucas Fernion!

Rating: C+ 67

The Coney Island Boyz Vs. Illuminati and Oscar E

My lack of experience in the business once again showing full force as this match was even worse than the opening match of the night. It’s sad, that the best match I’ve booked on my first show was a dark match. The fans really didn’t care about this match and on top of that it didn’t helped that action was embarrassing. There was never any doubt about who was going to win this match as The Coney Island Boyz picked up the win after a Medicinal Disclosure.

Rating: E 25

Kaz Naguchi, Shannon Thompson, & Coast 2 Coast Vs. Andro Shields, Runt Derby, Sam Wyatt, and Lucas Fernion

I hate say it, but this match was throwing together at the last minute to give most of the guys involved something to do, because I didn’t have enough to plan everything out about the show. Despite that and the fact that I was at ringside to be in the corner of my client, Lucas Fernion this match ended up finally breaking the downward spiral of my matches. With this match being an eight person tag team match the main focus of it was bring the fans down a bit and did as it was planned. It was a decent match, which saw the “good” guys pick up the win when Kaz made Derby tap out to the Spider Hook Guillotine.

Rating: D+ 51

The Warpspeed Cavalry came out to the ring with their tag team championships, Bucky Cohen took the lead in the segment and he had a blast having the freedom to go off script and performed well. The champions talked about how the tag team division is near and dear to their hearts, but they don’t want that to be the only part of their legacy that the fans remember. All this talk about how no one can really challenge the CPW World champion has gotten them thinking that maybe one of them could be the man that finally takes down the tyrant.

However, they are soon interrupted by The Heartbreakers manager, I Candy. It hurts my heart, because I figured that she would be a natural speaking to the crowd, but she floundered without one. She said, that the champs shouldn’t be thinking about singles championships when they are holding the tag team champions, but if they don’t want to hold on to them anymore she knows a couple of guys that would love to take them off their hands. Bucky asked Candy if that was a challenge, to which she said it was, and he replied with yes. However, before he could say when the tag title match will take place they are blindsided from behind by The Heartbreakers. The segment did a good job of ramping up the crowd again.

Rating: C- 56

Fred Daniels Vs. WarriorMITE

Another flop of a match… it didn’t do it’s just of lifting the crowd, because they were already hot. The match wasn’t interesting and the action was embarrassing yet again. Daniels won as that wasn’t ever in question.

Rating: E 27

The Coney Island Boyz were celebrating their victory in the backstage area, but it wasn’t too long of one, because Lincoln Court and Cadmus Rhodes too exception to their celebrating, because it wasn’t like they defeated a credible team like themselves. Vico took exception to that and told them that they are only crossed, because when was the last time that they won a match. That was the match that set the powder keg off as both teams started to brawling with one another. The segment did its job of getting the crowd back after that last match.

Rating: D 45

The Skull Crushers Vs Payton Parker and PRIDE

This match probably had the best reaction from crowd, but the match had subpar wrestling unfortunately. PRIDE, the guest tag team partner of Parker struggled during the match. The match came to an end when Carter Blaze rolled Parker up for the pinfall. However, I could have sworn that in my notes I gave to the road agent that it was supposed to be PRIDE that took the fall. I don’t know if I made a mistake or they didn’t listen to me, because I was the new guy taking their buddies spot.

Rating: D- 38

Rick Young Vs. ?????

CPW World Championship Match

It was finally time for my first main event match and I know that some people at the time were criticizing my idea to bring in a local guy for the champion to defend the belt against. Especially given the fact that all the other local talent that I brought in had all lost their matches. Needless say the fans were clamoring that the pay-off might have been that the local challenger was going to actually win the title here tonight. That idea was fanned by the fact that Rick was the first one to come out to the ring, but it sort of had to happen that way, because only Rick knew who his opponent was going to be tonight.

Rick got on the mic and introduced his opponent as, Rex Nebula! Rex got a big pop from the home town fans as he held his own against the champion in a decent match. I even faked the crowd out a little bit when Adrian Hurst came out and distracted Rick from the match. Nebula was able to get a quick pin and a very close 2 count, but Rick kicked out. The match continued and he finally drilled Nebula to the mat with a Razor Blade for the three count to retain the title in title defense number 10! The hatred for Rick in that moment was so thick that everyone could taste it.

Rating: C- 58

Final Rating: C 61

Other Notes: E.S. Cormier was used too much

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

After the show I couldn’t sleep at all and didn’t take long for the wrestling new sites posting news from the show and of course their opinion of the show. They said that while most fans found that it was a good show, but some of them found it be underwhelming.

On top of that, they were pointing out the fact that Andro Shields was starting to look flabby.

The shows rating was that of 1.44… not off to a good start.

On top of all that I got a message from Adrian Hurst, he felt that I needed to know that Julian Oslin has poor ring psychology in the ring and that he probably isn’t worth keeping around.

On top of all that I urged Mr. Holden to have everyone to take a comprehensive drug test, because I didn’t want any kind of scandal breaking out during my attempts to rebuild the brand. Everyone came back clean, but one person came back as a soft drug user. I could have let it go, because soft drugs aren’t too bad, then I realized if I didn’t take a stand now that would become the culture of the CPW. I also had to establish that I’m in charge.

The fact that hurt me the most was who it was. It was my “client”, Lucas Fernion. Not only was he my “client”, but he was reigning, defending, CPW Junior Heavyweight champion. I decide that I can’t go too easy on him… so I fine him. When I called him to tell him about his results and the repercussions stemming from it he assured me that he was going to clean up his act and be a better man. [ Positive Impact / Morale Boost ].

OOC as you can notice there were a few names in the first show that weren't on the roster. Most of them were one off and well Daniels and I Candy are explained a little later. The roster is my current roster as I'm a few weeks ahead In Game time.

Prediction League Challenge

Okay trying something I have never done in any of my other diaries that have long since faded from everyone's memories and were often WWE based games. This is my first shot at a none Real World story.

So the idea about this League Challenge idea of mine. The way that I'm going to work it is the winner during a Tradition show can suggest a worker for me to try and push. If you win during a PPV than suggest to me someone to hire and push, but the kicker is if you win during CPW's Battle of The Pros (Their Wrestlemania) I will let you pick someone not only to win a championship, but also tell when that match is supposed to happen.

So with that said... let the challenge begin!

Thompson ( Shannon can be a major player and he’s higher up than Fred)

The Agency( I don’t care for CIB)

CPW Thursday Night Tradition

Friday, Week 2, 2018

The Starland Ballroom

Attendance: 2,200

The night started off once again with the sounds of ‘White Trash Millionaire’ blaring through the speakers, but instead of just the champion out in the ring this week it’s the entire Inner Circle. The champ starts off talking about how he had another impressive title defense last week against Rex Nebula despite the fact that the Living Has Been tried to ruin it for the people. Hurst failed in costing him the title last week just like he will fail at How The Might Fall when he challenges for the title. At this point, Pressler takes the mic and starts to talk about the challenge from Ron Castle and Mike Young from last week. They still find it laughable that the two of them think that they can beat the former tag team champions. To which Singer points out that while Mike is a former tag team champion himself… that was with his brother who was carrying his dead weight.

This picked up from that moment when Hurst, Castle, and of course Mike Young came out on to the ramp. Mike was the first to address the current situation. He started by saying that his partner might not be his brother, but he’s a former two time World champion and with his two World championships… that makes them two times the wrestlers that Heavy Duty are. Castle affirms that while they might not be a traditional tag team by any means, but what they accomplished alone make them threats. He then added can either of you make the claim of dethroning Hollywood Muscle when he had a streak of twenty eight title defenses. That comment chapped Rick’s chaps a little bit because he burst out with the fact Muscle’s twenty eight defenses will pale in comparison of how many he racks up.

Finally Hurst takes his turn and he tells Rick that he’s glad he has such a lofty goal of breaking Muscle’s streak of defenses, because it’s only going to make it so much sweeter when he knocks the champion off his pedestal at How the Mighty Fall.

Kaz Naguchi Vs. E.S. Cormier w/ Heyman E. Danger

The number one contender to the CPW Junior Heavyweight champion takes on E.S. Cormier in the opening match. This match was much better for the young, Cormier despite the fact the outcome wasn’t much different. In his attempt to soften Naguchi up for Fernion he fell victim to the Spider Hook Guillotine in just two minutes and thirty four seconds. Fernion along with Heyman E. Danger attempting to help him during the match.

The Coney Island Boys are in the back and looking like they are getting ready for their match tonight against The Agency walks up to them with smirks on their faces. Court tells the ‘boys’ they just have a little bit longer to bask in the glory of their victory over those local boys that had no right being in CPW ring last week. Rhodes adds that during the brawl they might have gotten a few lucky shots in, but tonight its an even playing field and once he is finished both of them walk away. Leaving both Vico and Peiro standing there looking confused as they both pull ear phones out of their ears. Vico then asks Peiro what was that all about?

Payton Parker Vs. Andro Shields

Parker took on the heavy for Lucas Fernion in the second match, but some are wondering if you could even call Shields that any more. After last week when Fernion was announced by Heyman E. Danger as his newest client. It didn’t help matters in the slightest that both Fernion and Danger were nowhere near ringside for the match. Everyone in the building thought that Shields was going this match in quick fashion, but the match drew on for twelve minutes and twenty three seconds and for a match that long with these two was a decent match. The Building was stunned when the aging Parker picked up the pin after an impressive Charisma Check.

The Heartbreakers along with I Candy were in the backstage area talking about how last week they pulled over on the champions easily. Casanova says it's only a matter of time before the gold sits around their fabulous waists. Lockhart is quick to agree, but I Candy seems distance and disengaged. Her charges were about to ask her what is a matter, but they are blindsided by the tag team champions giving them a receipt from last week. However, the tide turns against The champions when I Candy snaps out of her funk and sprays some hair spray into Skipper's eyes blinding him. The CHallengers with the numbers in their favor now leave the champions laying on the floor.

Shannon Thompson Vs. Fred Daniels

A match that didn't seem like it would do much for either man heading into it turned out to be pretty decent. For ten minutes and twelve seconds, Thompson and Daniels waged war in the ring, but in the end, only one of them could come away with the win. Which just so happened to be Shannon Thompson after a convincing pinfall after one of those beautiful looking Shooting Star Presses.

Backstage The CPW Junior Heavyweight champion, Lucas Fernion, was fuming to his manager that he couldn't believe that Naguchi not only avoided a beating by Cormier earlier in the night, but that he convinced Holden to give him his rematch for his title. Fernion just kept rambling on and Danger was more than willing to let him ramble on, because he could tell that was what he needed at the moment. He knew if he tried to say anything else at the moment that he could severely piss his client off.

The Agency Vs. The Coney Island Boyz

Another decent match, this one, of course, was a result of the altercation that the two teams had last week. The action was top notch for the tag division that seems to be heating up at the moment. However, for the Coney Island Boys, the climate got a little rocky for them. Lincoln Court was able to put this one way for The Agency when he drilled Arnova with the Stand Trial at nine minutes and fifty-nine seconds.

A litte bit stage nonsense as Sam Wyatt is watching a monitor drinking a bottle of water when Julian Oslin trips and bumps into him. Causing him to dump the water all down the front of his shirt. The two of them exchange words. Nothing of real importance though... it was if this segment was just filler.

Chris Pressler Vs. Ron Castle

It was finally time for the main event of the night and when I say that this match didn't let me down I mean it. The fans were on fire for the match and the action in the ring was more than just decent. Castle and Pressler give it their all for twenty minutes and twenty two seconds. The crowd went ballistic when Pressler drilled Castle with The Big Hit to pick up the pinfall. Though it could have easily of went the other way had Ryan Singer not gotten involved in the match.

Rating: C+ 66

Even though the match was over, Heavy Duty decided they weren't one with Castle. They were laying into him with their boots for a couple of minutes before Mike Young came running down from the back. Mike even the odds and the unlikely allies were starting to make a stand against the established tag team, but that's when the crowd started to boo heavily again as Rick Young came down to give his buddies the numbers back. However, seeing this Adrian Hurst didn't waste any time in joining the fun. Tradition closed out with a six man brawl, but we are still in the dark about Castle and Mike Young and rather or not they will get their match against Heavy Duty at How the Mighty Fall.

OOC Three out five isn't bad. I was going to wait for more people to get in on it, but seeing as they might want to wait and see if I'm truly invested in to play along. So for the first week, you are the winner SilentDeath.

Once again after the show I couldn’t find my way to the land of peace slumber. So again I was up working on computer to see what I could find out about my second show. Which considering what I found I couldn’t have been happier about it. The fans that were in attendance and the ones that watch at home were commenting on line about how much they loved the show. Saying that it was a steady improvement from my week show.

And in the fact that when I checked my email for the quick TV ratings for the show… I was a little disheartened at the fact that viewership was actually down this week. Last week we scored a 1.44 in viewership we dipped to 1.43 for the second show. Which is understandable, because our first show was a drag I could see people not tuning in this week. Hopefully, with the praise of this show that number grows for show number three.

Attendance-wise… we were sold out again. Despite the fact that the company being looked at as a joke… especially seeing as our show Thursday Night Tradition takes place on Friday and we aren’t allowed to change the name, because the Broadcaster doesn’t want to lose the ‘name value’ of the show. I could get that if we were trying to revamp the entire name, but we just want to replace Thursday with Friday. I sigh, getting CPW’s reputation back wasn’t going to be easy with stuff like that in my way. Just as going to turn off my monitor to try to get some sleep my phone chirps not once, but six times.

So instead of heading back to bed I refresh my inbox on my computer, because the chirps were for my email. The first thing that I saw was that Holden sent me the details of Tradition’s TV contract. The moment that I saw that… my heart sank. I didn’t know how much of a hole I was in until I saw that and the fact that our contract only had eighty days left on it. On top of that bad news, Holden is putting me in charge of renegotiating with them to keep Tradition on the air. Okay, I can do that… I’ve sold enough pizza specials to customers that really only one pizza to double their order. Piece of cake… not. As US Sports View currently doesn’t care about the ratings that we pull in at our Late Night spot. To me just tells me they are not willing to renew us with a better time slot… or at all for that matter. Seeing as I’m now being tasked with this part of the business as… I may as well look for a new Broadcaster that hasn’t shown us so much disrespect.

The next email I open up is from Shannon Thompson. A good kid and I think he has a future in the business. So right away I hope it isn’t anything regarding and injury or god forbid that he’s been poached by another company. Luckily, it was neither of those… however, it was that he wanted to let me know that he thinks Julian Oslin doesn’t get “it” and might not be worth keeping around. Shannon makes the second person that has had a complaint about Oslin. The First being Adrian Hurst. I know they are probably right to have their concerns about him, but at the same time the more they tell him he doesn’t fit with the company… just makes me want to prove them wrong.

Speaking of Hurst, the next email was from him with another observation about a worker that he thinks has poor psychology in the ring. I have to have to say that I have tended to agree with him on Cadmus Rhodes. I’m not going to be one of those guys that let the locker room get into their ear about everyone they don’t like. So like his other complaint and that of Thompson’s I just file it a way for now.

The next email didn’t come as a shock to me. It was from I Candy, who in my opinion bombed during my first show when I made the mistake of letting her go out there without a script. So this week I had to tell her that due to her underperformance the week before that I was giving her a script to work from tonight. Needless to say, she didn’t respond well to the news and complained to me in the hopes that I would change my mind. I didn’t. And now I get this notice from her that there are several companies bidding for her services. For the most part, all the contracts look laughable considering what we are already here, but none the less… I need to approach her about a more permanent spot on the roster. Though… do I really want to? If she is upset after one segment where I don’t allow her to go without a script what will happen when I tell her that she will not be working without one ever again?

Next up, was an email, but it more like a note from Ben Grizzly letting me know that several of the guys in the back are getting heated at Steve Collins because of his selfish behavior. I really don’t want to be a tyrant behind the scenes, but like with Lucas I know I can’t let things go completely unchecked. I will have to give at least a stern warning over it since selfishness isn’t too bad, is it? [ Nothing of Note Happened ]

The final email is from Blake Smith. Oh boy… do I have to get involved in something else now too? Luckily, that wasn’t the case, because in the email it says that Bucky Cohen. One-half of the tag team champions took E.S. Cormier under his wing. I can’t believe it… that kid is going to have a big future in this business if things happen. I remembered when I first met him and decided that he was going to be a pet project of mine. He didn’t know who I was at the time when I approached him as he was sitting all by himself while all the rest of the guys were horsing around before the show. I struck up a conversation with him and I don’t know what I said to him, but opened up to me why he was avoiding the rest of the guys… it’s because he doesn’t want anyone of them to find out that he’s Rick’s and Jasmine’s son.

He told me that after hearing all the things that they have said about his mom, uncle, and even their family friends… how it’s only because of their connection to his father that they have been successful in this business. My heart ached for the young man at the moment, because the business was cruel I could already see that and I have only been a part of it for two weeks now. He wants to make it on his own so he’s shunned his last name by taking the last name of his best friend from kindergarten to hide who he is.

I told him that is very noble of him, but he might find it harder to get anywhere if he didn’t socialize, make friends, find sounding boards for his ideas, but more importantly to find people that he can ask for advice in the ring. Considering I have a feeling that asking any of his family would be out of the question. So hearing that he’s branching out and speaking with the rest of the locker room is good news to hear. Not to mention Bucky will definitely be able to help him improve in the ring. Though… now that I think about it… taking him on as one of my characters… might be a bad idea… if I totally botch it his father will probably kill me.

x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

After finally getting a little bit of sleep last night when I awoke and looked at the calendar I realized that my writing has left a lot of unanswered questions about How the Might Fall. I sit back down at my computer to start hammering away on the next edition of Tradition with my trusty M&Ms and Pepsi by my side. However, when the date on my computer catches my attention all I can think of is… “oh shit.”

I left so many unanswered questions about the PPV on the last show because I thought I still had time to build up to the show, but that isn’t the case. How the Mighty Fall is the next show on the calendar and there are no set matches… just rumored matches for the night. So I shift gears… I can’t worry about the script for the show just yet… I pretty much just start throwing darts at my wall to see what sticks as far as the undercard matches.

Happy with the quick card that I threw together I sent it out an email blast to Mr. Holden, the talent, and of course our marketing & advertisement departments so they can start to get things ready for the show on their end. Now I just had to find a way to make all this into a great show. Though my thoughts are quickly sidetracked when I get messages from Mr. Holden, Heavy Duty, Mike Young, and Ron Castle with their confusion about how this match is happening considering that Heavy Duty never lost to either Mike or Castle and they said that was the only way the match was going to happen. I gaslight them a little bit telling them that I already sent to marketing and advertising departments that due to Singer’s interference in the match that Mr. Holden was making the match happen, because Heavy Duty didn’t fight fair. Hence why it is listed as a grudge match. My answer sufficed all their concerns while I quickly sent that very email I told them I had already sent.

OOC Alright there is the prediction card for How the Mighty Fall, but if you overlooked it. I had mentioned that there were a few mistakes with my characters in the London Verse. Well, this narrative piece addresses one of those mistakes (well technically it's more than one, but you know what I mean). You all will have time to get in on the predictions this time. I haven't started writing out the show yet and I'll be working for the next 5 days so my writing time will be limited. Hope you all are continuing to enjoy the story with the revelation about E.S. Cormier.

Character Spotlight: Jasmine Young

We are just two days out from How The Mighty Fall and we are already in town so some of the wrestlers can take part in events to boast our attendance for the show. I was just returning to my hotel room after having an early dinner with Lucas and E.S. to discuss some of the ideas that I have for the both of them going forward. They were both interested in what I proposed, but then again when you tell one of them that you are going to try to get them in the Main Event by Beatdown and the other one that you are going to start working them to get them up the card. Of course, they are going to be all ears to what you have to say and interested to the proposed plan. I was still going over some of those very ideas in my head as I was reaching for my keycard. However, my thoughts were completely blown away when I noticed that Jasmine Young was standing outside of my room wearing a low cut (very revealing) black dress.

In that moment I was starting to think that maybe it wasn’t Rick’s influence that was keeping himself and the rest of his family outside of his son towards the top of the card, but that it was Jasmine’s willingness to do whatever it takes to make it so. Or is this Rick’s doing sending her to thank me for the fact that I was seemingly keeping up with the status quo of things.

Heyman E. Danger: “Mrs. Young what can I do for you this evening?”

Jasmine Young: “Can we talk somewhere a little more private than the hallway?”

She asked, and I couldn’t refuse her at least not with the way that she was looking tonight. For an older woman she still has curves in all the right places. I unlock my room door and usher her in. Once the door was firmly shut behind us I started to remove my suit jacket while moving towards the mini bar.

Heyman E. Danger: “Would you care for something to drink Mrs. Young”

Jasmine Young: “No thank you… this isn’t going to take that long and then I’m heading out with some friends for dinner.”

The moment she said that the fantasy booking ideas I had for this moment went up in smoke, but if I was realistic I didn’t stand a chance with a woman like her even if she was single. The fact that her husband could probably kill without breaking a sweat is probably a good thing that nothing is going to happen here tonight between us.

Heyman E. Danger: “Okay…”

I said, as I toss my jacket down on the clothes rack in the room. While I still opened up the mini bar get myself a small little bottle of vodka. I was going to need to keep myself together would looking at her.

Heyman E. Danger: “What can I do for you?”

Jasmine Young: “My husband, I can’t continue managing him.”

Heyman E. Danger: “What?”

I said, and I thought I was already drunk for a second until I realized that I hadn’t even cracked the seal on the bottle yet. She couldn’t have just said that… there is no way that she would say that.

Jasmine Young: “It’s not publicly known and I’d prefer if it stayed that way, but Rick and I have been separated for the last six months.”

Heyman E. Danger: “Really?”

That’s all I could say in the moment, because I couldn’t believe it that the ‘power couple’ of the CPW have been separated like that. Every time he sees the two of them together they seemed perfectly fine and full of love for another. However, I guess that just goes to credit how well they both are at acting.

Jasmine Young: “Yeah I found out that he’s been cheating on me for most of his career and if that isn’t bad enough that he has another child with one of his hook ups that’s older than our son! I just can’t take it any more I need to get away from him a little bit more.”

Heyman E. Danger: “I will work something up and get it to you as soon as I finish, because I will have it ready to go for this show.”

Jasmine smiled widely at me and then gave me a kiss on the cheek before she left my hotel room to head out to dinner with her friends.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

OOC Did this with sole purpose to highlight another two big mistakes. Rick and Jasmine have had a pretty on again off again marriage due to his urges on the road, but more importantly they are divorced due to Jasmine finding out about Rick's other child... hmm... wonder who that could be... lol

Also How The Mighty Fall is coming along nicely... I will probably have it up with in the next day or two... so get those predictions in.

CPW How The Mighty Fall

Sunday, Week 2, 2018

McGaw Arena

Attendance: 5,000

<img src= https://www.hazardousraine.fwrestling.com/TEW/vs.png><img src= https://www.hazardousraine.fwrestling.com/TEW/Julian%20Oslin.jpg>

Carter Blaze Vs. Julian Oslin

How The Mighty Fall got off on a decent start in terms of reaction for the crowd. Which I have to take a small victory given the fact that Oslin has been mentioned to me a few times by his peers that think that he doesn’t belong on the roster. Maybe they are right, but considering how the crowd is responding to him and Blaze at the moment I don’t think I have much to worry about. Sure the match in terms of ability was sub-par, but damn if Oslin isn’t doing something right with his non-wrestling time. Carter Blaze picked up the pinfall victory after a Trail Blazer after the match went for ten minutes and twenty three seconds.

We cut to the backstage area now and The Inner Circle’s locker room to be more precise. Singer and Pressler both seem to talking over their game plan for their tag team match against Castle and Rick’s brother Mike Young later on tonight. Even though the both of them seem angry that the match is happening at all considering that they never lost to either of the other men for the match to be granted. Pressler mentions to Rick that is started to seem like Holden turning against them by booking this match. Rick doesn’t say anything as he just continues to pace back and forth around the locker room with his title belt around his waist. He finally says “Where is she?”

Coast 2 Coast Vs. The Coney Island Boyz Vs. The Agency

The second night of the match and it just continues to build on the success of first match. As not only did it have a great response from the fans in the building, but the action in the ring was crisper too it would seem. As I watched from the monitor in the back I couldn’t help, but notice that Lincoln Court was way over performing the other men in the match. I started to think that it might be time to start considering a singles push for the man of the match. They guys really did do a good job in the nine minutes and forty seven seconds that they had for the match. Though after seeing the guys in this match I have to say I’m a little remised that The Coney Island Boys picked up the win in the match.

Payton Parker, Zander Renwick, And Shannon Thompson Vs. Andro Shields, Fred Daniels, and Sam Wyatt

The third match of the night and while it was a decent match in terms of the fans’ engagement and the action in the ring… it took a dip compared to the other matches. I don’t know if it was because the fans were slightly irritated that this match was pretty much just thrown together to get these guys on the card or the fact that match had a cloud over it by the name of Andro Shields. I say that, because I have seen some comments about how people didn’t understand why all of the sudden that he was dropped from his bodyguard role with Lucas Fernion, but then I see people criticizing the fact that he’s become a fabby Heavyweight and that the demotion was a punishment. Which I have admit is part of the reason for the decision, but not the only one. Parker, Renwick, and Thompson pick up the win when Thompson makes Shields tap out to his STF in nine minutes and forty nine seconds.

Winners: Payton Parker, Zander Renwick, And Shannon Thompson

Rating: D 47

Once again we cut to the backstage area, but this time it is to the Unlikey Allies locker room where Ron Castle is talking with Adrian Hurst. The two of them seem to be in deep conservation with Castle assuring Hurst that tonight was going to be his night. That he was going to finally shut up Rick Young once and for all after he takes out Heavy Duty. Castle continues on to say that even though they are supposed to be banned from ringside that he was going to make sure that neither one of them can make it down to the ring. At this point Hurst mentions to Castle don’t you mean that two of you? I don’t trust him in the slightest tonight… he could be working with his brother this entire time. The room falls eerily quiet as Mike Young stares at Castle. As up to the point Mike had been one of in the corner reading the latest edition of Dragon Ball Super’s manga. The amount of tension between the two men is so thick that you could cut it with a knife.

CPW Tag Team Title Match

The first of three title matches tonight and these teams didn’t disappoint. The fans were in to the match and the action was decent. However, I have to say that this match isn’t going to much in the way of settling the issues between these teams. I Candy, who had has been a shell of her former self after I told her that there be no more ‘free reign’ promo in her future had been detached from this match from the beginning. For the most part I would have to say the casual fan couldn’t tell that something was wrong, but the more knowledgeable fans could see that something was up. Towards the end of the match, I Candy went in to business for herself and attempted distract Cohen towards the end of the match which last fifteen minutes and twenty two seconds. Cohen though remained focused on the match to finish it with a pinfall following a Warpspeed Wipeout.

In very reality TV confessional like video, Kaz Naguchi talks about his rivalry with The Junior Heavyweight champion, Lucas Fernion and his new manager Heyman E. Danger. He mentions how he loves to play games and stuff in the hopes that he can hold on to the title, but tonight at How The Might Fall… he’s going to find out first how that feels, because tonight Kaz Naguchi is winning back the Junior Heavyweight title tonight. A lot of fans noticed that Kaz didn’t mention anything about Lucas’ bodyguard Andro Shields to where many of them are not certain that Shields has been dropped from the storyline all together completely.

CPW Junior Heavyweight Championship

This match got off a hot and furious start as neither man didn’t want to start out trying to fight back. The match was a decent match, with both men having their own time to shine in the match, but like all good things it had to come to an end. Fernion, with a little distraction thanks to yours truly… he was able to lock Naguchi in to the Border City Stretch for the tap out victory in nine minutes and forty six seconds.

Everyone has been wondering where she has been since the start of the show, but that question is finally answered when Jasmine Young makes her way down to the ring. Right away the fans in the building are a buzzing, because she isn’t just making her way down to the ring. She’s making her way down to the ring with CPW Women’s championship. A title belt that hasn’t been seen since it was retired during her last reign with the title. Once she is in the ring she starts to tell everyone that the CPW has seen the error of its way and has decided to re-instate the championship she is holding over her shoulders. She says that management wants to just give her this title back to her since she was the last champion. The fans boo this thinking that it was just another power play by the Young family regime to hold “all” the title belts, but she swerves the fans and says “But I told them I don’t want it that way.” She continued on that if she is to win this championship title back then they need to hire some of the best and brightest women from CPW’s Past and from wrestling’s future, because when I win this title at Beatdown next month I don’t want there to be any questions as to why I won it.

Now that, that is out of the way I have to speak about something that has been sort of a cloud over tonight. Why haven’t I been seen with my husband and the rest of Inner Circle tonight? Is because everyone is barred from ringside during the main event? No. It’s more than that… I mentality cannot handle dealing with my husband’s actions any more. I can’t stand there and watch him maim his brother… my brother in law. So as of Tradition last week you have all seen the last of me supporting my husband until he comes to his senses. The fans were genuine shocked by this as not only did Jasmine turn face during this segment, but changed to a ‘Fan Favorite’ gimmick and both switches went down successfully!

Heavy Duty Vs. Mike Young & Ron Castle

In match that could be a main event of any other show this match had it all great heat heading into it and good wrestling within it. The match was definitely the fans wanted to see as they just ate it up for the entire fifteen minutes and twenty five seconds. During the match Mike Young took a scary looking stunt bump that had the fans on the edge of their seats. It looked like the match was going to end in count, because of Mike’s inability to get back in to the ring after the bump. Singer was just enjoying listening to the count out happened while Pressler was poised to take Mike down if he managed to get his feet to ensure that it happened. One not to want that to happen, Ron Castle flew around the ring and clubbed Pressler in the back of the head and neck to take him down.

Castle then grabbed Mike and rolled him in to the ring at the count of nine to break the count. Singer furious that the count out didn’t happened moved in to lock in his submission move, but Mike suddenly surges alive hits a well place mule kick to knock Singer down on out of the ring. Mike then quickly, but face full of pain makes it over to his corner to make the tag to Castle who had returned to the apron and was reaching out for his hand. However, just as Mike came within finger tips length away from his partner’s hand… Castle pulls it back and drops off the apron. Castle just starts to walk around the ring as a tired, spent, and now utterly confused Mike Young falls victim to Singer’s Dead Man’s Hand.

The camera goes to back again, but this time it finds the young E.S. Cormier along with his manager, Heyman E. Danger. The man that helped Lucas Fernion already retain the CWP Junior Heavyweight title earlier tonight. Cormier, starts to question my ability to manage both of their careers with the same kind of success as Lucas tonight due to their different standing with in the company. I, of course, tell him sure I can and not to worry about it. Cormier doesn’t buy it so easily and calls me out on it by saying then why is that Lucas had a match here tonight, but I’m left of it? He of course had a valid gripe there, but that was just simply for show, because we both knew that he wasn’t wrestling tonight, because he was injured in his previous match.

Time for the main event and it was quite easily the match of the night as it had fantastic heat and good wrestling. Rick and Adrian really stole the night with this main event, but I can’t help to wonder if I botched in my decision for the finish of the match. Everything leading up to the match screamed that Hurst was going to finally take the title off of Rick tonight. There was no one to interfere, no insane stipulations… just a straight up wrestling match between two main eventers. For twenty minutes and twelve seconds both of these men wage a war that going to be talked out for at least the next couple of days one way another… The fans lost it when the ring announcer announced that Adrian Hurst had won the match, but the over the top cheering came to an abrupt end when he added that Rick Young was still CPW World heavyweight champion, because the title cannot change hands on a DQ. In that moment everyone was watching the jumbo torn to see Rick Young blanately low blow Hurst in front of the ref to keep the title.

After How The Mighty Fall finished I just wanted to get back to the hotel room and get some sleep… it’s been a while since I got any, but everyone was waiting me to join them for the after party. So I went to the catering area where everyone was trying to talk over everyone else with their preference as to where the party should be held. When everyone saw me though they all fell quiet as if they were going to leave the decision up to me. Several awkward moments of silence filled the air as I didn’t know what to say and they were expecting me to say something. Later, I would find out that writer before me loved to gather everyone around for a little meeting after the big shows and they were expecting me to continue the tradition.

I didn’t like being put on the spot like that, but if I wanted these guys to continue to listen to some of my ‘mad’ ideas that I have for this company I need to keep on their good side. So while I explained that I was going to keep it short and simple this time, because I wasn’t prepared for it. I led off by praising Rick and Adrian on their main event match. Considering that the big match of the night was easily the match of the night and both Rick and Adrian were pleased by the praise. Wanting to make an impact on one of our less experienced wrestlers… I didn’t have to look no further than E.S. Cormier. I gave him some encouragement by saying that he can only get better as time goes on. I had to do something for the young man, because listening to the crowd… I had a feeling that I wasn’t going to be able to stay as his manager much longer. The fans are having too hard of a time believing him as a heel… so I might have to have him turn face and see if that helps.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Credit: CPW.com

The CPW Insider would like to report that this year’s How the Mighty Fall has been deemed a success! Given the current time slot that the show had this year it garnered an impressive 0.13 buy rate, and the event itself was sold out before the doors opened. The general feedback from the fans in attendance and posting on our forum has been great. With the show getting a lot of praise for how well that it came off.

In a move that shocked many of the CPW faithful, it was announced by former CPW Women’s Champion Jasmine Young that CPW C.E.O. Rick Holden has decided to re-instate the championship after years of being dormant. In not so surprising fashion he was going to ‘gift’ the championship back to Jasmine who had been the final title holder. However, the former champion turned her nose up at the C.E.O claiming that she only wants the title back if she truly deserves it. So she went on to announce that at CPW’s next big event, Beatdown that there will be a ten women’s Battle Royal for the vacant championship.

The announcement for the return of the Women’s division was one of the few things that people weren’t too happy about. Not because they don’t want to see it return, but that because at the time of the announcement Jasmine and I Candy were the only women on the roster. To where many believe that the fix is in and that Jasmine is going to win the title during the battle royal, because there is no real opposition for her at the moment. That feeling only intensified when news broke that I Candy would not being taking part in the match, but more so due to the fact that she was signed away by the CWE to a written contract.

Adding on to the news of the Women’s Battle Royal for the vacant Women’s champion and to silence some of the critics to the decision. We here at CPW.com can announce that Rick Holden is taking Jasmine’s wish of fighting the best and brightest from not only CPW’s past, but future. Despite the fact that her family always told her to be prim and proper and that a ‘Lady’ didn’t get involved with something as low brow as wrestling. Mara didn’t take no for an answer, because she used her family resources to contact her wrestling heroine, Linzie Adorn. Mara Bell has learned to fuse her posh upbringing and rich girl status into her matches by berating the other girls as low class and not worthy of her time, Mara is well known for riling up the crowd as an ace heel. Her wrestling style is a fusion of technical skills and solid strikes to keep her opponents off their game and she loves to make them submit and takes great pride in punishing anyone that gets in her way.

Dana Dale

Not much is known about Dana, because she’s a relative new comer professional wrestling, but she’s turned more than a few heads with her performances on the Indy scene with her technical wrestling skills. However, like most of her female fighter peers due to the lack of popularity with the fans she realized that she was going to go largely unnoticed if she did turn to alternate avenues to get her name recognizable. She joined Women’s Champion Wrestling in 2010 and has been tearing up the roster with her strikes and throws, but she craved more so with a phone call to her dad… she was signed to CPW under a pay per appearance contract so that she could continue to wrestle for WCW as well.

Akane Inoki

If the name sounds familiar it should.

CPW Thursday Night Tradition

Friday, Week 3, 2018

Grissom Auditorium

Attendance: 2,000

It was no surprise when Adrian Hurst made his way out to the ring to start off the night. He got on the mic and talked about how he had the championship won from Rick, but that the so called champion took the coward’s way out. Which is why he is out her to demand that Rick give him not only a rematch, but a no Disqualification match to make sure that he can’t weasel his way out of it. Rick of course, comes out and tells Hurst that he needs do what all good losers do and that get to the back of the line. Rick tells him “It doesn’t happen how it happened… I’m still the champion!” and raised the championship above his head to drive the nail home. Rick then excuses himself from the ramp, because he has to prepare for his title defense tonight against not only someone who deserves it, but someone that hasn’t already blown their chance like Hurst.

Peiro Medici Vs. Devon Lockhart

Medici probably wishes he didn’t show up for this match, because Lockhart wasn’t in the mood for games tonight. Between losing at How the Mighty Fall in his bid to become Tag Team champion with his tag team partner, Casanova, and losing the services of I Candy. It has not been a good week for the now former number one contender to the tag titles. The match was decent for one that was on the shorter side of things at ten minutes and two seconds. Lockhart put Medici out of his misery for the pinfall with a Love Gun.

The audience is treated to a recap of the announcement made by Jasmine Young at the pay per view before the ‘champion’ makes her way out to the ring with the title belt. Once she is in the ring she says don’t get her wrong she isn’t carrying the championship around to flaunt her status as the ‘champion’, but to remind all the women that sign with the CPW just what they possibly be wrestling for at Beatdown! She says, but before we get there it might help if you could see some of the competition that will be on display. As if on cue Akane Inoki, Cristina Gardner, Mara Bell, and Dana Dale make their way down to the ring, but they aren’t alone they are joined by previously unannounced signings of Patience and Stacy Masters.

Once all the women are in the ring with Jasmine she paces in front of them as if she is trying to choice a candy bar or something. Finally, getting tired of waiting for something to happen, Akane steps forward and in to Jasmine’s way. The fans in the building start to chant yes! Yes! Yes! Considering the history between the two women. Jasmine says, okay you want to be one you can take on her… Jasmine said as she pointed to Cristina Gardner.

Akane Inoki Vs Cristina Gardner

This match was kind of a letdown compared to the first match of the night, but considering this is the first women’s match in the CPW in nearly ten years I couldn’t expect too much from it. The action in the match I have to say was sub-par and it wasn’t well received since it was just dropped in the laps everyone. Gardner even though this was her match with the CPW debuted a new spot in the match that really seemed to catch the fans off guard. Gardner picked up the pinfall victory at seven minutes and forty three second after connecting with The Awe Striker.

Another video recap, but this time it is of Warpspeed Cavalry celebrating after their victory to retain the tag team titles at How the Might Fall. The video shows everything that happened during the match, but the part that concern I Candy. She has seemingly been edited out of the match completely. The Video then hypes the fact that Bucky and Skipper are going to defend their titles again here tonight against anyone that wants a try and take a shot at them and that match is next.

Hot off their successful title defense and the video package everyone ready for this match it will go down as overall as a decent match, but than that it will go down as the best match of the night. Collins and Blaze, much like The Heartbreakers brought the fight to the champions. Even looked like they were going to with the titles for the four time considering that the champions didn’t have time to prepare for them. However, the champions proved just why they are the champions when they turned things around and were able to pick up the pinfall after the Warpspeed Wipeout.

Julian Oslin and Zander Renwick are both trying to get him to calm down and focus on the match. When it seems like Thompson finally has ahold of his emotion he mutters something about him possibly become the next big thing in the CPW if he’s able to win the championship tonight. As if on cue, E.S. Cormier and his manager Heyman E. Danger walk in to the picture. Danger tells Thompson that it’s just a fluke that he’s getting the title shot tonight, because the current big thing in CPW is Lucas Fernion and the next big thing is the man that is standing right next to me.

Zander Renwick Vs. Vico Arnova

In another decent match of the night, Zander Renwick took on Vico Arnova. Who was looking to make the night go a little bit better for the Coney Island Boys. However things weren’t meant to be, because Renwick looked like a man that finally found his drive again. Renwick would put Vico away for the pinfall victory after a Sandstorm at nine minutes and forty five seconds.

Winner: Zander Renwick

Cut to the backstage area where we find not only The Heartbreakers but The Coney Island Boys and The Skull Crushers together. They are are arguing over who should be the next team to challenge for the tag team titles. Both The Heartbreakers and Skull Crushers say that it should be them, because they have already both almost toppled the champions, but The CIB reminds them that almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. Nothing is solved during this segment as to who will have title shot.

Julian Oslin Vs Ryan Singer

For the wrestlers involved in this match I was waiting for the fans to turn against it. With Singer’s declining abilities and the fact that Oslin has had more than couple complaints about his skills in the ring. However, the match was actually pretty decent. Will it win any awards or anything like that? No I don’t think that it will, but it didn’t completely stink and that’s all that matters to me. Singer picked up the submission victory with the Dead Man’s hand just shy of the fifteen minute mark of the match.

Winner: Ryan Singer

Another recap video from what happened at How the Mighty Fall, between the Inner Circle and Mike Young, Adrian Hurst, and Ron Castle. Once the clip ends we find ourselves in Rick Holden’s personal office with him sitting behind his desk. He says that the situation with The Inner Circle and the three men commonly referred to as The Unlikely Allies needs to be put to a rest. So at CPW Beatdown we are going to see the first ever CPW World Title match contested under the Revolver Chamber [ Elimination Chamber ] match! All six men have been like loaded bullets in a gun… well now they will have a chance to be ‘fired’ off. Two men will start the match while the other four are locked in to chambers around the ring. Every two minutes one of the chambers will open to allow another man to enter the match. The last man standing once everyone has been released will be the CPW World Champion!

Mike Young Vs. Sam Wyatt

When I booked this match I didn’t know it at the time that it would be as good as what it was. The fans found the match to be a superb match! Not only that even without the Main Event happening yet… I have a feeling that this match is going to be the match of the night tonight. Mike and Wyatt are an odd pair to work against another one, but they pulled it off. Wyatt had a couple close falls in the match, but Mike was able to put him away at eight minutes and twenty seconds after landing the O.D. on him.

Winner: Mike Young

Backstage, Lucas Fernion along with his CPW Junior Heavyweight title and his manager Heyman E. Danger are talking as if he is truly untouchable after turning away Kaz Naguchi at How the Might Fall. However, his gloating doesn’t end well as Kaz steps up and claims that if it were for the weasel next to him he wouldn’t have that title any more. Lincoln Court, Payton Parker, and the recently defeated Sam Wyatt all chime in that they all think they deserve a title shot.

CPW World Title Match

Compared to his brother’s match this match wasn’t as good, but it still had the fans engaged with it completely as it had a great sense of heat around it and good wrestling in it. As I watch the match I knew that Shannon Thompson was going to be a main eventer for this company sooner or later. However, in the moment it looks like it’s going to be more on the later side of things as Rick Young turns away his challenger again with Razor Blade for the pinfall.

Last night’s reports from CPW’s Thursday Night Tradition at the Grissom Auditorium with 2,000 in attendance for the show TV Rating 1.53 (1,150,010 viewers) have stated that the show was great. Garnering more praise than criticism which marks like the third show this year like that to where some are speculating that with their new creative lead writer they have finally turned the corner and returning to their former glory. Only time will tell if that is true.

In other news, and a little more shocking news… Cadmus Rhodes’ contract has expired. When trying to get a hold of someone from talent relations no one was available at the time for a statement. However, in a brief comment that was released simply states that Mr. Rhodes’ contract expired before anyone realized that it was coming due. CPW officials are currently trying to work with Mr. Rhodes on a new contract. More on this story as it develops.

In a move that isn’t a shock considering how he has been portrayed recently on Tradition and the fact that has been a lot of heat between him and management. Andro Shields has been released from the company. The heat stems from on Shields’ side from his poor booking. Which stems from the fact when management noticed that he was starting to pack on the pounds and started to look flabby asked him to tone back up. Which he refused that led him being pulled from his storyline as Lucas Fernion’s bodyguard.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

OOC I made a booboo on the quick pick... left a match off it. It's added now so I will give everyone extra time to revalue their choices or add the match to their existing picks.

The CPW Tag Team champions, The Warpspeed Cavalry are spotted in the backstage talking with longtime friend Zander Renwick. However, the conversation is quickly interrupted by alone Devon Lockhart of The Heartbreakers. Devon tells the champs that his partner might already have his dance card full for the night, but he’s still itching for a fight. The Champs agree to wrestle against Lockhart if he’s able to find another partner tonight. Devon just laughs and says I already have two partners lined up. So bring your friend with you and if my team wins Casanova and I get another title shot at CPW Beatdown. The Champs think about it and then look at Zander who nods his head in acceptance. The champs agree and then Devon just smiles like a mad man, because he knows what the champs just got themselves in to.

Once again we head to the backstage where, Casanova, is standing in front of a camera. He’s cutting a promo about his match against Julian Oslin. It’s a pretty basic promo about how Oslin doesn’t stand a chance against him not, because he’s nothing more than a dead in the water wrestler. He’s out classed, out matched, and his fifteen minutes are up.

Cristina Gardner is in her locker room taping up her wrists getting ready for her tag team match tonight. She starts to talk how Stacy Masters and whoever she finds to be her partner tonight have no idea what they are instore for tonight. As Akane Inoki a former CPW Women’s champion wasn’t enough to take her down… what can they expect to do against not only her, but a partner? At that very moment Patience, comes in to view of the camera already in her ring gear. She chimes in by saying that Stacy and her partner will find out why it’s a bad idea to mess with them when they are all out of patience. (Nice little pun improvised by Patience)

In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Devon Lockhart and Heavy Duty defeated Zander Renwick and The Warpspeed Cavalry in 13:36 when Chris Pressler defeated Skipper Jameson by pinfall with The Big Hit.

Much like the segment with Cristina, the camera finds Stacy Masters in the back as she is getting ready for their tag team match in a couple of minutes. She talks about how Cristina might be some MMA bad ass, but that doesn’t mean that she’s a shoe in to win this match, because she’s found the perfect tag team partner for the night. As she’s she’s someone that loves to rain on other people’s parades. At that moment, Samantha Raine moves into view of the camera with a smile on her face.

Rick Young © Vs. Payton Parker

Non Title Match

The match was pretty one sided with Rick Young quickly picking up the victory with the Razor Blade. However, the big story coming out of this match was the fact that Adrian Hurst was on Commentary for the match. The champion wanting to send a message to one his opponents continued to beat on Parker after the match ended. Finally Hurst runs down to the ring and makes the save to allow Parker a chance to escape.

Winner: Rick Young

Rating: C 62

However, that doesn’t last for long, because Heavy Duty runs down to the ring and starts to attack Hurst from behind. As the members of the Inner Circle beat on the fallen Hurst there is a brief moment where some tension arises between the stable mates, but it quickly disappears as Mike Young and Ron Castle hit the ring to make the save for Hurst.

Mike Young and Castle clear the ring of the Inner Circle fairly quickly, but given ending of their tag team match with Heavy Duty at How the Might Fall there is more than a little tension between the two men. Finally though Castle drops Mike Young with one behind the Ear to end the show.
