AEW in Cornellverse

<p>American Cobras for the young bucks role. </p><p> </p><p>

For the Cody Rhodes role. Any of the 2nd generation wrestlers work. Like the ones already mentioned like CHord, Valentine, Vessey, Starr and Gauges(Keith's). Another possibility would be Ash Campbell.</p><p> </p><p>

The Omega role is the one I have the most issue with figuring out a good suggestion. KC Glenn is a pretty good choice, I guess. Frankie Perez would be another. I guess also Mathew Keith. Thinking of North Americans who have competed in Japan in the game. Glenn and Keith while they both have, don't really remind me of Kenny Omega, but that is just me.</p>

The problem with this idea is, the NA wrestling scene is loaded and there are 3 major companies already that cover all of the wrestling flavors pretty well already. I think if you wanted to do this, you'd want to do it in the UK, Australia, or Europe. But I don't think there are any over enough acts, disgruntled enough with 21CW to make this storyline work.

<p>As Makhal said, North America is pretty crowded already, particularly if you include the likes of SOTBPW, CGC and NOTBPW in the mix there. But if you were looking to set up an American company in TEW16 with a similar style, you would do well to have a company use some potentially upset guys in the major companies who have links to others. They could become a sort of figurehead company to the COTT almost, which would make the undercard and future stars come from those companies to work with a core group of bigger names.</p><p> </p><p>

My immediate thoughts for a Young Bucks type team would be The Bumfholes from the SWF. They've been on the roster a long time, had limited success and should be doing far better for themselves by now than they have. They have the looks the talent and even though I don't mind the names, one rebranding could set them up as megastars for a new generation.</p><p> </p><p>

Matthew Keith or Greg Gauge would also both be excellent fits for the company, fitting into a similar role to Cody and Dustin as sons of a legend.... which would tie in nicely to MAW and the COTT again. It's a somewhat different narrative to the Rhodes Boys but I could definitely see them accomplishing big things in singles and tags to make for a great team.</p><p> </p><p>

From there the American Demolition duo of Bulldozer Brandon Smith and Findlay O'Farraday are also excellent additions to the roster who would have strong connections to MAW/COTT and some to Japan too. Bringing in the American Cobras also makes sense as perhaps the best team of the COTT alliance though OLLIE has some strong workers to bring in too. Who could resist the Los Monteros and the Phoenix group?</p><p> </p><p>

Steve Flash could be your Christopher Daniels type too, though not sure who he would want to bring along with him if you wanted to do a New York version of SCU. Maybe the equally bland Ring Generals who could be your own version of The Revival?</p><p> </p><p>

By now you'd have a really strong tag division and some good star power for the upper card. Angry Gilmore could become a sort of Jericho figure for you if you really wanted, but there are stars across the USA, Canada and Mexico that you could probably build narratives for. Edd Stone/Freddy Huggins could have lots of stories with the likes of Ricky DeColt and Christian Price (particularly with Self's version of him as an amazing white meat, geeky face). </p><p> </p><p>

The indy scene an the COTT alliance have a lot of talent that you could use. Dermot O'Logical coud be a fun jobber and unlikely star if he got a great destiny roll. All of The Quest guys could pop up to further their missions and you might "accidentally" unearth some of the Operation Lullaby guys too to give them a leg up for their SWF case. A women's division is wide open for you too, and could easily steal the show if built up well.</p><p> </p><p>

There's a lot of potential. You'd need to find the narratives for some of the bigger names but if you built a story for it, you could create something awesome. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>The only person who fits the Cody role for me is Greg Black. Who is basically a top indy darling that was released by the big company after being given a comedy gimmick.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

For Omega I'd use Phenomenal E.</p><p> </p><p>

The Young Bucks have no C-Verse equivalent. You can use the Amazing Bumfholes if the fact that the Bumfholes have and actively work in one of the big companies doesn't bother you, or the fact that both Bumfholes are massively more talented than either of the Bucks.</p>

<p>SWF: Spencer Spade, Amazing Bumfholes, Joe Sexy or Lobster Warrior, and someone like Steven Parker.</p><p> </p><p>

TCW: Ricky Dale, Matt Hocking, High Concept(Elmo Benson and Greg Black), Aaron Andrews.</p><p> </p><p>

USPW: Alicia Strong, Trent Shaffer, DC Rayne</p>

<p>Right away, I can point you out to a certain promotion: TCW! They're definitely the IWC darling in the Cornellverse, with their philosophy of treating wrestling as a serious competition, and have a talented, very AEW-like roster and product. Going with them or copying their product with a few tweaks would be the best way to go, IMO.</p><p> </p><p>

You have Wolf Hawkins who could very well take up your Kenny Omega mantle of being the best wrestler in the world; if not him, you also have Joshua Taylor, who has ties to Japan; you have Jay Chord who can take up the Cody mantle as the second generation guy breaking away from the big promotion; Aaron Andrews and his gimmick strike me as both a Cody kind of character as well as MJF; Sammy Bach, whose gimmick reminds me a lot of Chris Jericho's, although not being a true veteran; Rocky Golden is essentially what Hangman Page will be 3 years from now; Edd Stone and Freddie Huggins immediately remind me of Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta. Plus, you got indie darlings such as Marc Speed and Flying Jimmy Fox on the roster. They do miss a Young Bucks equivalent on the roster, though, that much I have to admit.</p><p> </p><p>

TCW is a good promotion to take if you want to play something similar to AEW in the Cornellverse, in my opinion. Their roster definitely needs some rebuilding as well, and so a lot of indie talent would come into play. They're my recommendation to you.</p>

My kind of similar roster to AEW. Just who I'd pick, fill out and work with, I think.

The Rock City Stars (The Young Bucks)

~ Rockin' Ryan Turner and Stan "The Man" Manna are probably the best choice here. A team that has never gotten a chance that would jump at the opportunity to get in on something like "The Primetime" (just a name like The Elite, it sucks I know). You would need to bump up their stats to get them into the same category as The Young Bucks though.

Frankie Perez (Dustin Rhodes) & Jonnie Perez (Cody Rhodes)

~ You would think the obvious pick here is Greg and Matt, but the problem is those two are identical twins. You want to go with an significant age difference and that would be these two. In 2016 they would need to leave CZCW and be signed to probably USPW. Where Jonnie falls out in 2 years and rebuilds himself on the indies, then Frankie could be dumped just before the company starts up to more or less get something similar.

Americana (Kenny Omega)

~ The thing about this pick is it needs someone who has had quite a lot of success in Japan. I would think that Americana would be entirely successful in one of the biggest companies in the world and have probably claimed the Super Junior title at least once maybe even twice during the 4 years between 2016 and 2020. Joshua Taylor might be an option, but I think Americana who's only made his living in Japan would be the better choice.

"The Crippler" Chris Morrisette a.k.a. Lobster Warrior (Chris Jericho)

~ This was a tough call to find someone who could play a good Chris Jericho, but Lobster Warrior is probably the best. It was between him and Steven Parker, but I picked Morrisette due to age being a factor for a pick like Chris Jericho.

Elliot Thomas (Hangman Page)

~ Since TCW is the ROH of the Cornellverse, it would stand to reason we need someone young who can benefit heavily from being associated with the group. Therefore, this is probably the best fit possible.

Logan Wolfsbaine (Maxwell Jacob Friedman)

~ Young, has promising talent and just needs a chance, Logan would be the perfect fit to play this role. Not only that, you can give him a middle name if you want to give him the 3 letter initials, like say Samuel. LSW.

Simony Sentinel (Brandi Rhodes, put her together with Jonnie)

~ About the only person I could pick who is pretty "okay" from AAA that I could see USPW signing and not really doing anything with her.

Ariel Breaks (Britt Baker)

~ The Songstress fits the bill for this pick, because she's an actual singer, like how Britt Baker is an actual doctor. Could probably bump her up and build the division around.

Laura Flame (Penelope Ford)

~ Laura feels like she should be that big female name that you'd see that should join a company but just continually books everywhere. Then Primetime would come calling and boom. Picked up.

Alicia Strong (Awesome Kong)

~ Alicia almost always gets released in nearly every game I've played. If you wanted a big name for the female roster, this would be it.

Emma Bitch

~ Just another big name signing for the female roster. I don't have a comparative to it.

Rich and Famous (SoCal Uncensored)

~ Jackpot Jordon and Jake Idol would entirely fit the bill here for the tag team to resemble SoCal. Add in Donnie J to be the third member and boom. There's that.

NEW - The Robar (Steal) Brothers: El Asalto and El Vandalo Jr. (Lucha Brothers)

~ Considering the Lucha Brothers only showed up in 2016, you'd have to create the similar pairing in TEW. Have them both be second generation stars of El Vandalo Sr. Also because I can't find a Mexican tag team that could fill all the check marks I'd need for it.

??? (Jon Moxley)

~ 21CW is where I would pull from because it has a list of talent that someone will eventually get misused. Also because you aren't going to find someone of that caliber over in USA, I think. I'd likely guess that it would be a group of War Machine, Leigh Burton and probably Bedlam, as they take over 21CW, with one of them (probably either Burton or Bedlam) coming out getting fed stuff that doesn't exactly work for them. If it was anyone, it would probably be Bedlam considering he's at a lower popularity. Also because Bedlam seems like the type of guy who should just choke people out and that's it and instead gets stuck with goofy crap that would upset him.

And that's how I'd make a roster that's kind of similar to AEW. Whether you want to play that in TCW or make an entirely new company, is up to you. This isn't a full roster, but at least would give you a starting point to one and what you can do.

Though, knowing our luck, TEW2020 will have the AEW version in it. After all, we've got 4 years to catch up on.

<p>If The Syndicate were still a thing, I'd say that they'd leave TCW and form their own company. However, since it's been about a decade since they were on top of TCW, we need someone new.</p><p> </p><p>

We did have one situation in the Cornellverse with an promotion forming like AEW did, which was INSPIRE. You might also be able to say that BCG forming would be a little similar, considering a GCG legend formed it in opposition to GCG.</p><p> </p><p>

So, if something like this happened in 2020, I'd say that there might be some realistic scenario's where it could occur. </p><p> </p><p>

1. Eric Eisen is frustrated by Jerry getting ownership of the company, and is even more frustrated that he doesn't become the head booker, a spot kept by Jerry. He takes some SWF guys (The Pain Alliance, Brandon James, Rogue, and The Crippler) and forms his own company.</p><p> </p><p>

2. Tired of the tyrannical DeColt rule in CGC, a number of their main guys leave the company. Deciding they'd rather start their own company than join NOTBPW, they form a new company. The group consists of Ricky DeColt (who is feuding with Alex & Jack DeColt), Christian Price, Alan Parent, Thrill Seeker, and Antonio Del Veccio. </p><p> </p><p>

3. Carlos Gonzalez somehow becomes enemies with Puerto Rican Power. Deciding that he would know how to continue his brother's legacy best, Gonzalez takes Bull Wrecker, Kip Keenan, and Mutant to form a new company and battle FCW for control of Puerto Rico. </p><p> </p><p>

4. Tommy Cornell gets into a dispute with Jeff Nova. He decides to leave 21CW, and takes Edward Cornell, Philip Cooper, War Machine, and Edison Silva with him. They form a new Cornell run company of wrestling.</p>
