I've been watching what has been going on lately with the Alliance and it seems to me that they are going further than ever to bring the World Title into their fold. El Espiritu & Young Guns vs. Joe Boone, Levi Andrews & Friedrich Herzog

I´m thinking Espiritu will beat Boone when the title is on line and that´s why I give Boone this one in order to give him win over champ to keep him strong.

SPW Mid South Title Match- Nathan Hayes vs. Dustin David

Hayes ain´t dropping the belt this quickly.

Women's Title Tournament Semi-Final- Melinda Bell vs. Consuelo Montero

Women's Title Tournament Semi Final- Diamanta vs. Ryo Matsuda

Well, you said that Bell would be the default main face thanks to her being the only American so I made my picks with the idea that she would likely get at least into finals of this tournament is she is meant to be the top face and naturally that means that heel should advance in the other match

Night Fever vs. The Kuroki Boys

Fever is higher on the pecking order.

Spike Morgan vs. Carl Hackney

Rookies usually don´t win much but Morgan had most eliminations in the battle royal so I´d assume you plan to build him up from the beginning and Hackney have been low enough on pecking order that I could see you putting newcomer over him.

Saita Kuroki & No Nonsense vs. Perry Bryant & Escuadron

I´m thinking Bryant will win the blow off match between him and Kuroki so I go with Kuroki getting a win here in order to even things out.

The Chivalry vs. Mike Lewis & The Puzzler

Named team over random pairing

6 out of 8- good going. I wonder whether you will feel the same way the coming match between Boone and El Espiritu following Daniel Loiselle's promo?

While that indeed makes me doubt bit more I still expect Espiritu to beat Boone right now as Espiritu vs. Loiselle for the belt would be good enough match even if they are both faces. That said, I do expect Boone to be the likely next champ, I just don´t expect him to win the belt on their first encounter.

SPW Pro Wrestling 20 Aftermath

The only real discussion that took place between the booking team after this show was regarding the first outing for women's wrestling.

The first two women's matches in pro wrestling history were not exactly the roaring success that Frank Norris and Jay Lutter had hoped for. Firstly, neither match was up to scratch in terms of what the women actually did in the ring. In fairness they were all making their debut in front of a crowd and they were never likely to put on a couple of mat clinics, but by this point in Southern Pro Wrestling's history, the fans had come to expect a slightly higher level of quality, and this wasn't at that level.

The real problem however was that the fans on hand in Beaumont simply weren't into it at all, which was also down to expectations- women's wrestling had never previously factored into what wrestling fans were looking for, and so nobody in the building was there specifically to see it.

To add to the problems the women's division was encountering right off the bat, was the fact that Melinda Bell suffered an injury in her match with Consuelo Montero and was looking doubtful for Octoberfest where the first Women's Champion was scheduled to be crowned.

Unsurprisingly, given his previous doubts about the women's division, Don Loomis was in favour of giving up on the whole endeavour, releasing the women, and pretending that the matches had never taken place. Norris and Lutter however, continued to fight their corner and convinced Loomis to see it through, at least for another couple of months, to see if things changed as the women picked up more experience and they had the chance to give them a proper build. Loomis, still unconvinced, agreed to give them one more chance.

Other than that, it was full steam ahead on the road to Octoberfest.

SPW Octoberfest 1921 Preview

Below is the press release for SPW Octoberfest:

It's the most anticipated night in professional wrestling history as Southern Pro Wrestling presents Octoberfest, a show where the biggest names in the business will face one another with the stakes higher than ever!

In the night's main event, SPW World Champion El Espiritu will defend the title against his rival, and number 1 contender, Joe Boone in what is sure to be a personal war! Boone earned the chance to fight for the belt in a 15-man battle royal last month but the personal enmity between the two goes all the way back to the 4th of July when Joe Boone joined The Alliance, turning his back on the masked Mexican sensation in the process.

Joe Boone subsequently explained that he was driven to join The Alliance by frustration at the lack of opportunities he was receiving in spite of positive results against both Daniel Loiselle, when he was World Champion, and against El Espiritu himself in April. Since that point, Boone has seized his opportunity and will be desperate to bring home the gold, not just for himself, but his stable mates as well, who feel that capturing the World Title will consolidate the political power they already yield as a result of their collective bargaining position.

El Espiritu has been the World Champion since the 1st Anniversary show in February and has defended against all comers, but Boone, with the full support of The Alliance, represents his toughest challenge yet- can the title holder come through again, or will a new Champion be crowned at Octoberfest?

Speaking of The Alliance, the German brute Friedrich Herzog will also be in action in a major contest at Octoberfest as he faces former World Champion, Daniel Loiselle. Since returning to Southern Pro Wrestling after the brief hiatus he took following his loss to El Espiritu at the 1st Anniversary show, Loiselle has made it clear that he is desperate to win back the World Title he lost in February. Meanwhile, The Alliance have singled out control over the belt as their primary goal and in addition to trying to take it from El Espiritu, they are also keen to ensure they keep it away from the former champ. Whoever wins this bout is likely to be a near-future contender for the title so the stakes are high in this one!

Way back in June, Saita Kuroki was knocked out cold by Perry Bryant with the ring bell, short-cutting his way to a surprise victory over the former Sumo superstar. Since then, the two men have been locked in a bitter war that has encompassed a number of tag outings as well as one other singles match- at SPW Pro Wrestling 19- where Kuroki managed to get his win back. With the score at 1 victory a piece, this is the rubber match, and a chance for both men to claim bragging rights over a personal rival, so expect both men to throw everything at it!

The SPW Tag Team Titles are also on the line at SPW Octoberfest as the Champions, Young Guns, defend the belts against 1st time opponents, The Chivalry. Many have suggested that The Chivalry were a surprise choice to be given a title shot, but their victory against Mike Lewis & The Puzzler at SPW Pro Wrestling 20, opened up this opportunity and they'll be eager to take advantage. With the experience of Sir Anthony Henry and the raw potential of Squire Albert Berik, Young Guns can't take them lightly, and with the titles on the line, anything can happen.

SPW Octoberfest will also see the conclusion of the SPW Women's Title Tournament, as Melinda Bell and Diamanta, both of whom picked up victories earlier this month in the semi-finals of the tournament, go head to head to crown the first Women's Champion in pro wrestling. This a chance for either competitor to make history and neither will want to miss out on writing their name into the record books.

All this is coming your way, plus 4 other matches including the likes of Levi Andrews, SPW Mid South Champion, Nathan Hayes, Dustin David, Night Fever, Austyn Taylor and many more!

SPW World Title Match- El Espiritu © vs. Joe Boone

As said before, I do expect Boone to get the belt next but don´t think it will happen quite yet.

Daniel Loiselle vs. Friedrich Herzog

Herzog is good but I don´t think he´s quite on Loiselle´s level.

SPW Tag Team Title Match- Young Guns © vs. The Chivalry

I could see Chivalry getting the belts but giving this one to Guns as I feel they could use few more successful defenses before dropping the belts.

Saita Kuroki vs. Perry Bryant

As said before, Kuroki seems to be gatekeeper and I feel that Bryant have already passed that gate before and would likely do it again as this feuds feels like it is here to build Bryant up.

SPW Women's Title Tournament Final Match- Diamanta vs. Melinda Bell

Picking the American girl to win this one.

Levi Andrews & Nathan Hayes vs. Dustin David & Mike Lewis

Could go either way but with Hayes holding belt this could be a good match to set-up future title match reasoning.

Spike Morgan vs. Michael King

Using same logic here than with Morgan vs. Hackney in last show.

Night Fever & Escuadron vs. The Kuroki Boys & No Nonsense

Looks like Night Fever is heading towards split likely in order to set-up Disco´s singles push so guessing they will be on losing end here.

Austyn Taylor vs. The Puzzler

Taylor is higher on the pecking order

Next up we were due to have the final of the women's title tournament however, Don Loomis got into the ring and asked for Diamanta and Melinda Bell to come to the ring. Loomis then announced that due to injury, Melinda Bell would not be able to compete in the final of the tournament and so Diamanta was the winner by default and declared the first ever SPW Women's Champion. Diamanta celebrated as Bell dejectedly walked away.

Rating: 21

Match 6: SPW Tag Team Title Match- Young Guns © vs. The Chivalry

9TS3Mud.jpgF0SO0Oy.jpg vs. dX61G2L.jpgMHEy4YU.jpg

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, The Chivalry defeated Young Guns in 15:38 when Dragon Lee was disqualified when he was caught by the referee holding a steel chair. The steel chair had been introduced to the match by Sir Anthony Henry behind the referee's back- Dragon Lee had dispossessed him while the two fought and that's when the referee turned around.

Rating: 36

Match 8: SPW World Title Match- El Espiritu © vs. Joe Boone

MZGEcR1.jpg vs. 0GMbMmW.jpg

This was a tight, back-and-forth contest until, after roughly 18 minutes of action, Friedrich Herzog walked to the ring.

6RNouzl.jpg

After El Espiritu hit a frog splash, Herzog got up onto the ring apron, distracting the referee from making the count. When the referee turned around, Boone had had enough time to recover and managed to kick out.

El Espiritu reversed an Irish whip on Boone into the corner that knocked the referee down. With the referee out of commission temporarily, and El Espiritu continuing his offence on Boone in the corner, Herzog entered the ring and began to sneak up on El Espiritu from behind.

At this point, Daniel Loiselle ran to the ring.

DIrVef3.jpg

Loiselle spun Herzog around from behind, El Espiritu also turned around to see what was going on behind him. Loiselle then went for a super kick, but Herzog managed to duck and Loiselle caught El Espiritu in the face with the blow.

Momentarily aghast at what had happened, Loiselle was distracted which allowed Herzog to bundle him out of the ring. Boone then managed to capitalise with a power bomb on El Espiritu and make the pin, just as the referee recovered to make the pin.

Your winner, and new World Champion, in 21:44, is Joe Boone!

3 out of 9- tough one this, I think (it's hard to remember now, as it was a few months ago at least when I booked this) that this is where my booking shifted gears in terms of wanting to do a couple of things- 1) shake things up a little to prevent them from becoming stale, 2) trying to close the gap a little between the main event players (largely made up of the original 7) and the chasing pack.

6 out of 9- You were right AND wrong on the Title- Boone was the next guy to get it, but I didn't see any point in delaying that. Good call on Kuroki losing to Bryant, to be honest I was probably booking him stronger than he deserved by this point, Kuroki was not particularly useful in the ring and was the oldest of the original 7. You got screwed a little by the women's title match- thinking back now, I can't remember what my initial plan was for the match had it happened, but whatever it was, Melinda Bell's injury put paid to that.

SPW Octoberfest 1921 Aftermath

Aftermath

There was lots to unpack after the show, so much so in fact that Don Loomis, Frank Norris and Jay Lutter agreed that they wouldn't hold their normal meeting in the hour or so following the event, and instead reconvene later in the week for a full debrief.

The first thing they spoke about was the title change. They had known for some time that El Espiritu vs. Joe Boone would headline the Octoberfest show, the three feeling as if this was the big money match in the promotion at the culmination of the summer programme, the result however was debated right up until the last few days before the match took place. The deciding factor in the booking team's decision to switch the belt at this time was to ensure that Joe Boone's heel turn back in July wasn't wasted. It was felt that if Boone had lost this match, and failed to win the belt, that his heel turn was just a way to build to this match, as opposed to a longer term investment in Boone's future.

Another reason for the title change was to ensure the continued importance of The Alliance faction- another failure to secure the belt after having come up short on a number of occasions over the previous year would have meant there was little for The Alliance to do going forward- by having them secure the World Title at this stage, new life had been breathed back into the group. Having Daniel Loiselle play an inadvertent part in the ending of the match was seen as a way to get Daniel Loiselle properly back into the title picture, and in a way that would provide plenty of opportunities in the future, for his future relationships positive or negative with The Alliance, Joe Boone and El Espiritu.

Loiselle was continuing to show himself as the best performer in the promotion (in the ring, at least) as his contest with Friedrich Herzog became the 3rd best match in the history of the promotion, behind only 2 of Loiselle's matches with El Espiritu. There were also a number of other performers on the bill who were showing themselves to really be coming along.

The main event was the highest rated title defence for the entirety of El Espiritu's title reign and was only the 10th match in SPW history to achieve a 40+ rating. In the meantime, Young Guns defence of the Tag Titles opposite The Chivalry, with a rating of 36, was the best Tag Title match in company history (the previous best had been Young Guns defence against The Alliance pair of Levi Andrews and Friedrich Herzog back in April).

Of greatest note during the tag title contest however, was the fact that the best performer in the match was not Sir Anthony Henry, as might have been expected, but was from the least experienced man in the bout- Squire Albert Berik. Berik was technically sound, charismatic and looked great out there, all which bodes will for his future prospects.

There was also a great collective effort in the earlier 8-man tag match which saw Night Fever & Escuadron up against The Kuroki Boys & No Nonsense. With performances like this, the tag team division was looking in very good health indeed.

There were two concerns for Loomis, Norris and Lutter after the show- the first being the dreadful post-match shenanigans between Double Shot and their new rival, Spike Morgan. For whatever reason, and in spite of the visually impressive powerbomb delivered by Double Shot during the angle, the fans didn't seem to care enough about Morgan for it to make a big impression.

Also of worry was that, despite their match only lasting 6 minutes, Saita Kuroki was again blowing hard at the end of his bout with Perry Bryant. Loomis commented in the meeting that they may need to prevent Kuroki being involved in matches in the future, if for no other reason than his own health.

While the fact that they had to cancel the Women's title match final and simply award the belt to Diamanta wasn't the most auspicious of ways to crown the first women's Champion in pro wrestling history, Loomis seemed more positive about the concept of women's wrestling as a consequence of it. He said that he saw the awarding of the belt to Diamanta as a good way of getting the fans engaged in Melinda Bell's future pursuit of the belt.

There was no significant news to report on during the rest of the month.

<p>SPW Pro Wrestling 21 Preview</p><p> </p><p>

The following is the press release for SPW Pro Wrestling 21:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>"In the shadow of Octoberfest, Southern Pro Wrestling returns once more to Jackson, Mississippi for another giant portion of grappling action!</em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

Last month, Joe Boone became the new SPW World Champion when he defeated El Espiritu with no small help from both his Alliance stable mate, Friedrich Herzog, and Daniel Loiselle who inadvertently struck a decisive blow in the contest. Now Boone & Herzog will face Loiselle and El Espiritu in tag team action and it's anybody's guess as to what will take place. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

Can Loiselle and El Espiritu co-exist after what happened at Octoberfest? The pair have a long and storied history in SPW having fought on 3 separate occasions over the World Title, the last of which saw El Espiritu take the belt from the man he will team with at SPW Pro Wrestling 21. Now, with many blaming Loiselle for El Espiritu losing that same Championship at Octoberfest, the two will need to let bygones be bygones to fight a common enemy.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

Mike Lewis & Dustin David surprised many at Octoberfest with a victory over Alliance pairing, Levi Andrews and Nathan Hayes. The Alliance have requested a rematch and Don Loomis has decided to grant their request and has added that the winners will be named the new number 1 contenders to the tag team titles. With the stakes raised, you can bet that both teams will be firing on all cylinders and gunning for victory. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

The newly crowned SPW Women's Champion, Diamanta, will make her first defence of the title at SPW Pro Wrestling 21, as she faces Ryo Matsuda. At Octoberfest, Diamanta was handed the belt by default when her scheduled opponent in the tournament final to crown the first title holder, Melinda Bell, was deemed unable to compete by medical professionals. Since then, Diamanta has made it clear to management that she is eager to prove what she can do and therefore she has been matched against Matsuda. Will this be the proper beginning for Diamanta's title reign, or will Matsuda end it before it's really gotten started? </em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

Recent newcomer, Spike Morgan has had a very successful start to life in Southern Pro Wrestling- he made the most eliminations during the first ever battle royal that took place back in September, then managed back to back singles victories over both Carl Hackney and Michael King. After his victory over King however, Hackney ran to the ring and the team that are now going by the name of 'Double Shot' attacked their opponent and double-powerbombed him to the floor. Since then Spike Morgan has convinced SPW management to book a match against both his attackers, in what is being billed as the first ever 'handicap match'. </em></strong></p><p><strong><em> </em></strong></p><p><strong><em>

In addition to all this action, SPW Pro Wrestling 21 will host 4 other matches featuring the likes of Saita Kuroki, Leroy Disco, Perry Bryant and The Chivalry in what is likely to be an explosive night of action- do not miss it!"</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

5th November 1921. Jackson, MS

Attendance: 400

jee5VHL.jpg0GMbMmW.jpg6RNouzl.jpglj2pNRH.jpg

The show began with a jubilant Alliance coming to the ring. When they got there, Levi Andrews took the microphone and had the following to say:

"Today is the realisation of a dream for me- finally The Alliance has achieved its goal of wielding the power that will ensure that the interests of this elite group of pro wrestlers will be protected. I want to start by thanking my brothers Friedrich Herzog and Nathan Hayes for being in this thing with me since the start- they have shown true loyalty to the cause and the perseverance to see it through to this point. I also want to thank Joe Boone for being the catalyst to push The Alliance over the line. Since he joined us, he has given us that extra little something to get us to the place we wanted to be from day 1, and now, he's made The Alliance more relevant and more powerful than ever before, by becoming the SPW World Champion!"

He then passed the microphone to the new World Champion, Joe Boone:

"I want to thank Levi for those words and also for his dedication and leadership of The Alliance. The truth is that making the decision to join the Alliance was a tough one- I had a lot to lose, it was undoubtedly a gamble. But winning this World Title has validated that decision a million times over- it was without doubt the best piece of business I have ever conducted. Focussing back on the here and now however, myself and the big man Friedrich Herzog have a tag team match tonight against Daniel Loiselle and El Espiritu. They say there has never been a more formidable teaming of individuals in the history of the sport, and I would have to agree. You see the key word that I just said was 'individuals' because that's exactly what they are, individuals. So tonight, myself and Herzog will emerge victorious because there is no chance those two FORMER World Champions can work together."

When El Espiritu gets in to the ring, Loiselle apologies to the Mexican sensation for what happened at Octoberfest: "You have to believe me, when I came to the ring during your World Title match with Joe Boone last month, I did so only to prevent Friedrich Herzog becoming involved. You have to know, after all my history with The Alliance, that there is no way I would help them on purpose."

El Espiritu didn't move, and simply stood there with his arms folded.

Loiselle continued "I understand that you will be feeling angry right now, and more than likely you'll be feeling angry with me, but tonight we have a match against Joe Boone and Friedrich Herzog and we have to work together in order to take them on."

Loiselle then reached out his hand and El Espiritu subtly nodded his head and shook Loiselle's hand, indicating a willingness to work together tonight.

"Hey guys, myself and Roland have been talking with one another since Octoberfest about the match we had. The way it ended was not the way we want to retain the belts and so we agree that you guys deserve another shot at them- and once we've come through whoever wins in the number 1 contenders match later tonight, we'll be giving you a rematch."

Following the match Melinda Bell came to the ring, "Diamanta, I wanted you to be the first to know, I have now been given the all clear from the doctors to get back in the ring and compete. Had I not picked up the injury, I believe I would be the one wearing that Women's Title that you hold right now. So, I'm just letting you know, I'll be coming for that belt very soon."

Daniel Loiselle & El Espiritu vs. Joe Boone & Friedrich Herzog

No doubt that Loiselle and Espiritu is the stronger team but I´m thinking that the plan is for them not to be on the same page and loss here would help to establish that.

Saita Kuroki vs. Leroy Disco

I still expecting Disco to get a push eventually and I think he´s good enough to go over Kuroki. That said, if this is a start for a new feud instead of one-shot match, then I´d assume Kuroki goes over here and Disco gets his win later but since you just run that story with Bryant, I assume this is just a one shot match.

Mike Lewis & Dustin David vs. Levi Andrews & Nathan Hayes

With that extra stipulation and tag champs being faces, I see Alliance picking up a win here.

SPW Women's Title Match- Diamanta © vs. Ryo Matsuda

I don´t see champ dropping the belt on first defense.

No Nonsense vs. The Chivalry

Chivalry was already one of your better teams in my eyes with Henry being half of it and now that you told that Berik was the better performer in that tag title match (and pointed out it was the best tag match in SPW´s history so far) Chivalry instantly jumped as my favorites to be the next champs.

The Puzzler vs. Perry Bryant

Bryant didn´t beat Kuroki just to lose here.

Handicap Match- Spike Morgan vs. Double Shot

I´m probably wrong here but this is more of a personal preference as I don´t really like handicap matches as I feel that losing with man advantage would pretty much bury Double Shot here.

La Oscuridad vs. Tetsuyuki Ishibashi

Bit of a coin flip to me but I´m rating Oscuridad slightly higher even if Kuroki Boys have certainly stepped up lately to make this a more even contest.

5 out of 8- and in fairness, but for a couple of draws, this could have been 7 out of 8. I agree with you on handicap matches- I don't mind so much when it's a random couple of jobbers, even lower mid card guys, but when it's an actual tag team that has the advantage I don't like them to lose.

Daniel Loiselle & El Espiritu vs. Joe Boone & Friedrich Herzog

Saita Kuroki vs. Leroy Disco

Mike Lewis & Dustin David vs. Levi Andrews & Nathan Hayes

SPW Women's Title Match- Diamanta © vs. Ryo Matsuda

No Nonsense vs. The Chivalry

The Puzzler vs. Perry Bryant

Handicap Match- Spike Morgan vs. Double Shot

La Oscuridad vs. Tetsuyuki Ishibashi

2 out of 8- a very tough bunch of matches this time, 2 of which ended in a draw which made it even harder. I feel bad because, having convinced you to give up on Carl Hackney, he's finally picked up a win here!

<p>SPW Pro Wrestling 21 Aftermath</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aftermath</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

This show was a little bit of a departure from what Southern Pro Wrestling usually served up to its audience. Don Loomis had been concerned that the card that they had put together was a little light on significant matches- at least below the main event- and had asked Jay Lutter to come up with more in the way of story line development to fill the gap and hopefully leave the fans wanting to know what happened next (and therefore encourage them to buy tickets for the Festive Fury show that was coming up when they next returned to Jackson).</p><p> </p><p>

Lutter was only too pleased with such a brief and went about formulating the various angles that he saw as key to telling the stories he wanted to tell. Lutter commented to Loomis and Frank Norris that he saw Joe Boone's title victory at Octoberfest as being the beginning of the next phase of the overall SPW storyline, and felt that the show opening promo, which saw The Alliance basking in the face of their recent victories, as being an important segment which drew a line under everything that came before. </p><p> </p><p>

There was some very promising things that came out of the multiple angles on the show also, including evidence that Daniel Loiselle was improving on the microphone- he managed to carry his angle with El Espiritu to a point where the fans were responding to them well, without El Espiritu saying a word. Lutter was happy that the angle got over the idea that, while they didn't hate each other, they didn't really trust each other either, something which was moved further along by the miscommunication between them in the main event. </p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of the main event, and in spite of the focus on the storyline elements (or maybe, because of it?) the main event was the highest rated match in Southern Pro Wrestling's history thus far, with a rating of 49- Friedrich Herzog, reliable as he was, was actually the weak link in the match as the other 3 main stars in the company really wowed the fans in attendance in their tag match. The tension that existed between Loiselle and El Espiritu made it all the more fascinating to see how this one would play out.</p><p> </p><p>

The Young Guns challenge to The Chivalry was also proof of where their real skill was- they had been underwhelming for the most part as tag team champions in the ring, but the fans responded really well to Dragon Lee's work on the microphone and really bought into the 'fair play' character work done by the pair as they made it clear they were unhappy retaining the tag belts with a disqualification, as they had done on the previous show. </p><p> </p><p>

The first steps on the way to building the women up, after their previous, bungled attempt, took place at the show as well. Diamanta got her first title defence under her belt (and it was the best women's match yet) and afterwards Melinda Bell put Diamanta on notice that she was coming after the title. That Bell more than held her own and actually got some of the crowd behind her with this promo was a testament to her work here, and things were beginning to look up for the future of women's wrestling.</p>

SPW Pro Wrestling 22 Preview

The following is the press release for SPW Pro Wrestling 22:

Southern Pro Wrestling is back in Beaumont with all the stars of the pro wrestling world set to do battle as they jostle for position ahead of the end of another year!

And they return with a gigantic main event as SPW's 2 most popular stars will do battle with one another to earn themselves a World Title shot! That's right, Daniel Loiselle will face El Espiritu with the winner receiving a match with World Champion, Joe Boone at Festive Fury on the night after Christmas Day! Both men will be desperate to secure a chance to win back a title they both consider to be theirs.

There is also a significant personal element to the contest as well however, as it was Daniel Loiselle who, while trying to prevent Friedrich Herzog from interfering in El Espiritu's defence of the title against Joe Boone, inadvertently blasted the masked Mexican star with a superkick that Boone took advantage of to win the belt. Last month, Loiselle and El Espiritu tried to put that distrust of one another aside and take on Boone and Herzog in tag action, but further mistakes once again led to El Espiritu staring at the lights.

Now, understandably furious, El Espiritu will need no extra motivation to pick up the victory in this one. Daniel Loiselle himself however, also has plenty to fire him up for the showdown. It was El Espiritu, don't forget, who was the man who defeated Loiselle for the World Title back in February at the 1st Anniversary Show. This was after 2 previous collisions between the pair over the belt, that had both finished inconclusively. With Loiselle being without a win over his great rival in 3 previous encounters, he'll be super focussed on proving himself as the pair meet again!

Make no mistake, this is a titanic collision, and the only way to see it is to purchase your ticket now! As if the main event wasn't reason enough to get your ticket for the show however, there is plenty of other matches on the show that should whet your appetite for the event.

Firstly, SPW Mid South Champion, Nathan Hayes will continue his long running feud with Dustin David as he defends the belt against David for the 2nd and last time. The pair first met in the final of the tournament to crown the initial Mid South champion in July, with Hayes coming out on top. Hayes won again in their rematch 2 months ago, now David has one more chance to prise the belt away from his enemy.

Just recently tensions have risen between The Kuroki Boys and Escuadron, two of the teams in the chasing pack for a Tag Team Title shot. At Octoberfest the teams were on opposite sides of the ring in 8-man tag action and then last month, a singles match between La Oscuridad and Tetsuyuki Ishibashi finished in a double disqualification after their respective partners got involved. At SPW Pro Wrestling 22, the two teams will face each other in 2 on 2 action for the first time, and you can be sure that the winners will take a big step towards securing themselves a title shot at some point in the future.

At Octoberfest there was heartbreak for Melinda Bell who, having fought her way to the final of the SPW Women's Title Tournament, was unable to compete due to injury and had to watch as Diamanta was awarded the title. Bell however is nothing if not perseverant, and last month put Diamanta on notice that she was coming for the belt. At SPW Pro Wrestling 22, Bell makes her first appearance in ring since the injury as she faces Consuelo Montero, the stakes are high as it is likely the winner will be named number 1 contender to the Women's Title.

As well as all these massive matches you will also see Sir Anthony Henry, Friedrich Herzog, Austyn Taylor, Perry Bryant and others in action, and also SPW World Champion Joe Boone has vowed to be in Beaumont on the night- you don't want to miss this!

Number 1 Contender Match- El Espiritu vs. Daniel Loiselle

Going with draw here in order to set-up a three way title match between Boone and these two.

SPW Mid South Title Match- Nathan Hayes © vs. Dustin David

Thinking that Hayes could use bit longer title run still so I have him retain here.

Escuadron vs. The Kuroki Boys

I do still rate Escuadron slightly higher

Roland Pascual vs. Sir Anthony Henry

Henry is the bigger name.

Perry Bryant vs. Mike Lewis

Both look to be solid hands but Bryant is the one with that big win over Kuroki and that´s enough to tip the scales on his favor.

Melinda Bell vs. Consuelo Montero

Setting up future title match for Bell

No Nonsense vs. Double Shot

Pretty certain No Nonsense is higher on pecking order

Friedrich Herzog vs. The Puzzler

Not much question here, Puzzler isn´t on the same level

Spike Morgan vs. Austyn Taylor

Tough one, Morgan is on roll but Taylor has been decently pushed so certainly he´s tougher opponent than Double Shot. I go with Morgan continuing his winning ways as I do recall that you were bit disappointed on Taylor´s performance during his push but I wouldn´t be too surprised to be wrong here.

Man, we have been working together for over a year, and we've had each others backs during that time. I know last month I said that we were done as a team, but that was said in the heat of the moment, I was angry about losing a match and I lost my temper. But it's not just been since then that things haven't been working out for us as a team, and I think there is some underlying tension between us, so I think the best thing we can do is face one another in a match at Festive Fury, to try and get all our frustrations out, put everything behind us and move forward with our career as a team, what do you say?"

Tonight however, I am here to issue an open challenge, to anybody in the back right now, other than Daniel Loiselle and El Espiritu, to face me one-one-one here, in this ring tonight, and I will put this title up for grabs!"

After El Espiritu took Loiselle down with a clothesline, he became distracted by Joe Boone who had walked to ringside.

0GMbMmW.jpg

El Espiritu seemed to be motioning for Boone to go away while Boone taunted him from outside the ring. The distraction allowed Daniel Loiselle to recover and lock in a cross face chicken wing on his opponent from behind. El Espiritu tried to live with the pain for well over a minute, but had no choice in the end, but to tap in 22:38.

Going with draw here in order to set-up a three way title match between Boone and these two.

SPW Mid South Title Match- Nathan Hayes © vs. Dustin David

Thinking that Hayes could use bit longer title run still so I have him retain here.

Escuadron vs. The Kuroki Boys

I do still rate Escuadron slightly higher

Roland Pascual vs. Sir Anthony Henry

Henry is the bigger name.

Perry Bryant vs. Mike Lewis

Both look to be solid hands but Bryant is the one with that big win over Kuroki and that´s enough to tip the scales on his favor.

Melinda Bell vs. Consuelo Montero

Setting up future title match for Bell

No Nonsense vs. Double Shot

Pretty certain No Nonsense is higher on pecking order

Friedrich Herzog vs. The Puzzler

Not much question here, Puzzler isn´t on the same level

Spike Morgan vs. Austyn Taylor

Tough one, Morgan is on roll but Taylor has been decently pushed so certainly he´s tougher opponent than Double Shot. I go with Morgan continuing his winning ways as I do recall that you were bit disappointed on Taylor´s performance during his push but I wouldn´t be too surprised to be wrong here.

6 out of 9- That Sir Anthony Henry win and Escuadron/Kuroki Boys draw flummoxed everyone (then again, as you thought the main event would be a draw, that probably deterred you from predicting any further draws). On why I avoided the triple threat main event of Festive Fury- I try to only use 3-way matches when I'm REALLY desperate for something different- they do happen, but probably not as often as they do in other dynasties.

Number 1 Contender Match- El Espiritu vs. Daniel Loiselle

SPW Mid South Title Match- Nathan Hayes © vs. Dustin David

Escuadron vs. The Kuroki Boys

Roland Pascual vs. Sir Anthony Henry

Perry Bryant vs. Mike Lewis

Melinda Bell vs. Consuelo Montero

No Nonsense vs. Double Shot

Friedrich Herzog vs. The Puzzler

Spike Morgan vs. Austyn Taylor

5 out of 9- Not bad, and you were the only one who got the main event correct, but once again, Carl Hackney has let you down! You just can't catch a break with him can you?!

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Aftermath</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

The match between El Espiritu and Daniel Loiselle was another stand out in their series of contests dating back to April 1920- it was just a notch below their World Title match at the Anniversary show of February this year- and given the lack of a title, the fact that both were in a babyface role and that the title was not on the line- the in-ring work they did was probably their best yet. </p><p> </p><p>

Of the top 6 matches in the promotion's history so far, all of them have included Daniel Loiselle, 5 of them have involved El Espiritu and 4 of them are the singles matches between the pair, so as you can imagine, Don Loomis had nothing but praise for both at the end of the night.</p><p> </p><p>

The women's division continued its slow improvement during the match between Melinda Bell and Consuelo Montero- their match against one another was once more a step up on the previous best, set by Diamanta and Ryo Matsuda last month. The title match set for Festive Fury would be key now to finding out if there was a longer term future for women's wrestling.</p><p> </p><p>

There was big praise from Don Loomis towards La Oscuridad after the show as well as he had been the stand out performer in what was a more than adequate 20-minute time limit tag match draw between Escuadron and The Kuroki Boys. The fact that these two teams had been trusted with such a long match showed that management were already high on at least a couple of the wrestlers in the bout, but La Oscuridad really stood out. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">News</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

A sports journalist from Jackson had covered the action from SPW Pro Wrestling 22, mainly for its importance to the Festive Fury show which would take place back in Mississippi at the end of the month. He had also managed to get a few comments from Daniel Loiselle about his victory in the main event:</p><p> </p><p>

"People probably won't understand exactly how important tonight's victory for me was. I've fought El Espiritu on 3 previous occasions and I have been unable to get a victory until now. I needed to beat him tonight, to show everyone, and most importantly myself, that I am the best in the world."</p><p> </p><p>

When asked about his upcoming match with Joe Boone, Loiselle had the following to say:</p><p> </p><p>

"Joe Boone won that title because of me, and that makes me sick every time I think about it- I can put that right by beating him at Festive Fury. The SPW World Title is the biggest prize in this sport and I want it back."</p>
