Hulkamaniac85
You gave them too much popularity in their home area. They can't grow by being over only in Hawaii so they try to run shows elsewhere to facilitate growth. Hawaii has no spillover anywhere so they have to run shows in either Japan or the mainland (most likely the mainland). You can't use the 'stay in my home area and make major bank while growing steadily' strat in TEW20 to the same degree as you could in previous games. Aside from crowd burnout from having many shows in the same area over a relatively short period of time, I believe there's some kind of diminishing return from doing so (probably as a result of lower attendances and viewership). Luckily, in TEW20, the game tells you that when choosing the location for a show (though it doesn't help if the AI is running it because the AI is a moron). You're better off giving P-PAC 50 pop in Hawaii and 30 in South West and maybe 20 in Kanto or something so they can actually hold shows and make a profit while focused on growth. EDIT: Long story shorter, it's better to give promotions a range of popularity across their game area with their home area slightly higher than trying to create fortress areas. In the example of P-PAC, 50 in Hawaii (which has no spillover), 30 in South West (which will spillover into North West and Mid South....which will spill over into South East and Mid West and MEXICO....which will spillover into...... Hmmm, so I have been messing with it most of the day and still can never get them to hold a show in their home region (Hawaii for P-Pac, and then one of the British promotions refuses to hold shows anywhere in the british isles, always going to Japan). Is it just not possible to have promotions in these areas? I loaded up the default data to see if I could recreate it in that mod, but there's no feds in Hawaii, so is it just a broken game area? If so, that is very unfortunate.

Suplewich
I'm making an alliance for the first time, featuring mainly my main company, joshi company and my developmental company. What type of alliance should I make? I might have Pro-Wrestling NOAH in, not sure yet. Adding to it, I'm just making an alliance so I can have all my companies under the same name, but can I still go on as usual/normal? Or do I have to loan out some of my wrestlers and all now? Dr. Hook
Gimmicks No takers in the small questions thread, but I have a question about the way gimmicks now work. I did a gimmick for my user character which was fan favorite. It is rated as adequate. I noticed that the gimmick came with a big hit to in match psychology as a con, with no pros. This is just a standard gimmick. How does one know what the pros and cons of a gimmick are? Is it related to how well the gimmick does? Why does this particular gimmick come with a psychology penalty? Would it be "fixed" or improved by a better performance of the gimmick? I have read the dev journal and the players handbook, but didn't really feel like I understood what is happening here. Thanks!

So, there no longer exist "particular" gimmicks. You say it's a Fan Favorite gimmick, but that's just flavor text. The things that matter are: 1. It's a Standard gimmick, 2. However Safe or Creative you set it when you created it, and 3. However Unique or... whatever the opposite of Unique is that you set when you created it. You may remember a grid thing when you picked the gimmick type - that's where you set how Creative and Unique it is. If you didn't set anything, it's right in the middle. When a gimmick debuts, not only does it get a rating, it can also generate these modifiers. Creative gimmicks tend to get more of them and Safe gimmicks tend to get less. The specific type of gimmick (Standard, Dominant, etc.) affects what types the gimmick is eligible for, but the specific ones you get are random. I believe that they are also independent of how good the gimmick is. So you can get a legendary gimmick with disadvantages, or an awful gimmick that has advantages. I don't think that you can change these without changing the gimmick (or going into the editor).

Thanks for the answer I did go more to the creative side for this, and it apparently flopped and I got a really nasty side effect from it haha! This helps for sure, though, to know that gimmick creation is a bit of a crapshoot (I guess it always was to an extent) and that I need to care more about how well they go over than in previous versions and how safe or not to play it. My UC has a high creative rating so I expected to be better off going with a more creative gimmick, but I guess the dice roll was against me. I don't think it's intended to represent that the gimmick flopped (that would be getting a lousy rating) but rather that there's something about the gimmick that inhibits the worker. Maybe the gimmick doesn't quite gel with some of the worker's go-to spots, so they have a harder time putting a match together. Maybe they're a heel who constantly ducks out of the ring, which might get them a lot of heat but doesn't necessarily make for a great match. I think it's things like that that the modifiers are trying to represent.

It shall remain something of mystery, but I guess I can justify it in my mind-that the particular way he is carrying out the gimmick has a tough effect on being able to engage in a match properly. Is there a product that would be very similar but that would allow for tainted/cheap finishes as the only difference? SWF product is based on a ratio between 40:60 and 60:40 of in-ring action and pop depending on what gets the best score. Pop isn't the end all, be all to a good match over there. soxfan93
Is it possible to pre-empt your own show without affecting broadcaster relationships? I want to run a two-week Bash at the Beach with AEW, but I want the pop boosts for my workers associated with a bigger-scale event to give the indication its not "just" another episode of Dynamite. My plan was to move the air date of Dynamite to avoid taping it, then add the show as an event to the calendar and broadcast it on TNT. Will I screw anything up by doing things this way? You should be fine. You can move the air date/taping date of your show as many times as you want and I don’t ever recall seeing any kind of repercussions. Acamality
Can anyone explain masks to me? (I've only casually watched wrestling here and there, and mostly Youtube or reading about it, so I'm still trying to figure out simple stuff like how often title fights and such happen, so there's a lot to learn) For ex, in the Worker editor you can set their Mask to No, Weak, Medium, etc. I'm unsure exactly what this means, because it seems it doesn't only relate to Lucha masks. Acamality
Another few questions... How important are Road Agents for matches? Playing MAW and I had Sam Keith leave me the day of a match, leaving me without an agent. Is it worth canceling my monthly so my new choice can hopefully accept a contract? Speaking of, what attributes are good for them? Colour so they can also announce? Do booking and business skill do anything for them? Finally - Can owners also wrestle in their own company and does it do anything positive or negative? For my first game I just picked David Avatar, the ref. Probably good because Jay Fair went off to TCW pretty quickly.
