Until/unless they get nerfed, the strategy for LtG/RtG seems clear to me: Save up money until you get enough for a Tiny broadcaster in a region, then make one. It's almost easy mode. I got $12k from a PPV broadcaster with 0 pop nationwide, and that broadcaster only cost $52k to make. It'd be even cheaper in a smaller region.

On the subject of Prodigy, in previous installment RTG's, you set your potential to Excellent (or optionally to Random). Since there is no longer a place to set potential (that I can see), wouldn't taking a trait like Prodigy be something of an equivalent to that?

That would suggest that everyone should get it, unless they choose not to take it.

No, you can still set potential. Still, if you're allowed to set potential to max, I don't see why something that lets you reach your potential easier would be that bad.

I tried this in the UK - 40k set up 4.9k revenue for the first show. You are right, everyone will do this if it is not nerfed.

It will take a while to make enough to start the broadcaster though.

You can take the the debt for the creation of the broadcaster and then make it back easily within a month

I tried to open a broadcaster straight away but the game told me that I couldn't afford this. Did you manage to open one without cash in the bank?

Could the broadcaster be a way to get through the early game without collapsing to financial hardship? Perhaps in the mid game, where you need solid talent, it'll effectively become a wash with the new contract system?

It sounds like it although it would be completely divorced from reality. It's impossible to say without playing a long term game and that is now over two weeks away from happening :(

Went for a test with Derek's idea from Page 2.....

IDEA 1

Slightly recategorise and add a couple of rules for worker size. Larger workers (Heavyweight+) are far less likely to be able to get high stats in techinical and aerial/flashiness. If we removed Flashiness from the Primary Skills and removed Menacefro Performance Skills we could do something with a weight split. Put the less likely of Menace/Flashiness to be used as a 5th skill with Physical Skills and have a special category for the remaining one.... leaving us with 5 categories overall.

Primary: 5 skills (Brawl, Hardcore, Puro, Technical, Aerial)

Fundamentals + Psych: 5 skills (Basics, Selling, Consistency, Safety and Psychology)

Performance: 5 skills (Charisma, Microphone, Acting, Star Quality, Sex Appeal)

Physical: 5 skills (Stamina, Athleticism, Power, Toughness, Menace/Flashiness)

Size Based Special Skill: Menace/Flashiness

We'd then have 4 groups of points to spread out with total like....

225, 200, 175, 150 (750 total, for example)

You'd spent each block of points on a category (so you can't put 75 into all the funadmentals, for example) and if you choose to spend less you can it into your weight class's Special Skill. This system would make it so that people can't spend too many points in one area, would hopefully avoid min/maxing and could make for better stats spreads overall. Maybe. :p

W3qE19N.png

  • 150 into Primary

  • 175 into Performance

  • 200 into Physical (with 75 spare being put into Menace).

  • 225 into Fundamentals + Psych

Throw in a starting Personality and Attribute and you've got a decent brawler. Awful Fundamentals but that's but of the challenge right? :o Oh and he's likely to hurt a few boys but this ain't ballet.

Basics doesn't provide any benefits above 40, so if you don't mind a bit of min-maxing, you could improve Psychology or one of the other skills.

Gave that method a test and got this

i0f3g9Y.png

Comes out to 824 if you -9 from the usual 100 in Resilience. Chuck the Sex Appeal into the Menance and that's a promising big guy.

That or if you want to use "Very Menacing" over "Looks like a star"

Worse with Fundamentals and starting SQ but the better overall Physically and Performance wise.
