Developmental Features Missing

Recommended Posts

Patch #5

-----

Signing someone to a developmental deal appears to be something 2020 will not offer. Because of this, we don't get the initial push-back of wanting to sign someone and send them to development like we would in 2016, for example.

Would it be possible to add a spot in 'Talk to Worker' where we could ask them if they are interested in working developmental?

-----

Second, about developmental, is there no longer appears to be a way to see why someone is in developmental. In 2016, you could view a worker and see what he or she was there for, whether it be to just work, or work on overall skills, for example. This is missing from 2020.

-----

I wasn't sure where to post this, as I'm not sure if it's intended to have these features missing or not. If this is better in the Suggestion forum, please feel free to move it on my behalf.

Designated Area's of Training such as Performance, Entertainment, Brawling and so on have been removed.

Not to mention the ability to set someone as a trainer or trainee

To be fair: the latter has been replaced by an investment mechanic. I'm also a fan of how it was before, but it is what it is I guess...

And the former was a nice thing to have, but after half a year they've maxed out on every possible training anyway. But it was very handy for quick results. :(

I'm attempting to test signing a more experienced/more popular worker to a written deal, then send them to developmental, but I'm running into an unreleated RTE that won't let me continue (I've opened a support thread on it). Here is what I'm looking at...

Using a mod, if I select someone like Randy Orton and try to send him to NXT, he complains NXT is too small for him, though it will still allow me to send him. I am unsure what coinsequenses there would be for sending someone to dev if they don't want to go.

With that being said, if I don't know they don't want to go to a dev company because it's too small until after I sign them, it could leave me in a potential bind of signing someone specifically for a dev company who don't want to work there in the first place. In 2016, you could select "Developmental" as the contract type, and the worker would tell you no before you even offer the contract.

A consideration here could be working this same "check" into the intended use feature with "To extensively develop your skills" the same way someone who isn't "over the hill" of their career complaining about wanting to be used as a Gatekeeper or Nostalgia Act.

What do you guys think of this?

<p>You all aren't getting what the real issues are.</p><p> </p><p>

You get literally ZERO feedback from developmental now.</p><p> </p><p>

Will this worker improve any at all? Guess</p><p> </p><p>

Will this worker be mad at being sent down solely because of the size of the fed or because development is a waste of time? Guess (My converted mod has a lot of 40-something pops with a small dev fed so that's all they complained about was the size of the fed except for the one that had 20ish pop)</p><p> </p><p>

How much will the worker improve? Guess</p><p> </p><p>

Will they be happy being signed and sent to development? Guess</p><p> </p><p>

Will someone work as a trainer, or is that even a thing anymore? No idea</p><p> </p><p>

With zero info now, developmental feds are just money pits you hope produce something, maybe. They're just wastes of time imho. Best case scenario is your worker(s) develop like they did before. Every other case is you've made someone mad for no reason and wasted a month of their contract (because they didn't improve when you have the previous month to judge against), but again, they might have improved by 0.9 but there aren't decimals anymore.</p><p> </p><p>

We need some info. If you don't want to return it to 2016 where we had probably a little too much info, fine, but we need some info. A weekly email from the booker or a trainer when they think they're ready (the wrestlers are not necessarily trustworthy voices). Something. Anything.</p>

Fully agree. We need some sort of feedback from the game, or whats the point? I don't want to wade through yet more menus every month to see if my developmental workers skills are improving. I think the whole developmental part of the game has been totally gutted. It's not even on the level of WMMA5, which is a game I think nailed child companies, where you can at least give them instructions for how to use the fighters you send down.</p><p> </p><p> Also it bothers me that 'Developmental' is no longer a contract type. It's petty, but I hate looking at the work history with: </p><p> USPW, January 2020</p><p> USPWNXT, January 2020 to present, developmental</p><p> </p><p> Just because I had to sign him to my roster, <em>then</em> send him down.</p>

<p>It is indeed possible to do this, thank you friend! No more convoluted work histories is very nice <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Still lots too be improved on as far as the developmental system goes. I do hope they implement some feedback/specific training regimens/etc.</p>

<p>My assumption is that these changes have something to do with the fact that you can play as developmental companies now. It seems like this was achieved largely by making them function much closer to regular companies. </p><p> </p><p>

It's a little unfortunate but if that's the trade-off then I'd certainly take it, it was always one of my most wanted additions.</p>

I really don’t like not being able to set trainers. In my testing, I have sent down guys who would make sense as a trainer only for them all to complain about the child company bring too small because it would appear they don’t understand why they are their and their role cannot be defined. Just makes that whole development process feel really disjointed when playing. The WMMA 5 comment is also on the money...can’t understand why at this point we can’t give the Child Company booking instructions, seem like that would have been a layup for this version of the game?

Even when you send them down as road agents?

Not defining a role for sending someone to developmental is annoying, you can't send people to work as trainers.
