Semi Finals: Nobuatsu Tatsuko vs Sean McFly Overview It's a battle of cultures in the first semi final. Tatsuko embodies Japanese wrestling with a crisp, stiff strike-based style of attack. McFly uses a North American style, with more impact moves and high risk attacks. Both men are legends, and it should be a tight contest. The Match We open with a chop battle, with neither man getting the advantage. This soon turns into a fast-paced encounter, with Sean using arm bars and headlocks to set up some of his suplexes and dropkicks, while Tatsuko uses his usual array of forearms and stiff MMA-style kicks to wear down the American. Tatsuko is the first to hit a series of big moves, scoring with two sole kicks and a stiff elbow, and that is enough to bring McFly to Medium energy at 8:00. He comes back with a pair of leg lariats, a chest-blistering chop, and a suplex, which brings Tatsuko to Medium too. We're only at 10:00, and already it's starting to break down into a real war. Nobuatsu Tatsuko comes on strongly, using a nice backdrop suplex and several forearm shots, and also hits a strong Arc Kick. Sean comes back with his trademark Delayed Vertical Suplex, and follows up with his snap legdrop. He then goes to work on the legs with some grapevines and single leg boston crabs, perhaps setting up for the Scorpion Deathlock. He attempts a back suplex, but Tatsuko brilliantly flips out the back, hitting a Reverse DDT Neckbreaker on the way down. He then pounds McFly with mounted elbow smashes, and has clearly chosen to target the head and neck of the Canadian-based fighter. He walks into a belly to belly though, and McFly attempts the Scorpion Deathlock, only for the Japanese star to break it easily. Tatsuko goes on the attack once more, nailing three quick forearms to stun McFly, and then dropping him with a Roaring Sole Kick. He again uses the elbow smashes to nail McFly in the face, and then applies a camel clutch, but there is no way Sean will quit to a low level move. The "Iron Man" goes for another, but Sean slips out, plants him with a second belly to belly, then goes for the cross armlock. Tatsuko slips out and lunges for a forearm, but misses. McFly capitalises and lifts him up and drops Tatsuko clean on his head with the Delorean Driver (spinning Northern Lights Bomb). The referee counts the pinfall, and this one is all over. The first semi final only gets a D. It's a shame it ended to suddenly, as it was just developing some serious drama when the Delorean Driver hit, and it surely would have gone up to at least a B+ with just a few more minutes of action. It was a nice even contest, as it should be at the semi final stage, and in the end if was probably McFly's better technical skills that allowed him to escape from some crucial big moves at the end of the match and deliver his finisher for the victory. Sean McFly advances to the final, to face either BLZ Bubb or Tadiyuki Kikkawa. Winner: Sean McFly (pinfall -> Delorean Driver) Time: 17:50 Grade: D

Semi Finals: Tadiyuki Kikkawa vs BLZ Bubb Overview It's a battle of two powerhouses in this match. BLZ Bubb has looked almost unstoppable at times, simply storming straight through opponents. Kikkawa is equally direct, and has smashed through his opponents thus far. It'll be a fist fight, with the winner getting to take on Sean McFly in the finals. The Match It's a slugfest to start, with both men pounding on each other. Bubb isn't selling anything, which just leads to Kikkawa backing him into a corner and stiffing him with several elbows and knee lifts. NB: Don't mess with Kikkawa. Neither man is willing to back down, and neither man is going off his feet easily - in the first five minutes there was only one knock down, when Kikkawa walked into a clothesline. Kikkawa takes the lead with a couple of suplexes and a big forearms. BLZ shrugs it off and comes back with a short arm clothesline, a shoulder block, and two overhead fallway slams. He continues his assault by repeatedly kicking Kikkawa in the head, and then pounds him with punches and elbows. That was quite a sequence for the Canadian, as Kikkawa went from the bottom end of the High energy bracket all the way to Low, and is now in real difficulty, with all the momentum with his opponent. Bubb continues, splashing Kikkawa twice, and then hitting a sharp clothesline. Kikkawa manages a couple of comebacks, but they only amount to a few punches and forearms. All the momentum is with Bubb, mainly thanks to the sequence where he kicked Kikkawa in the head numerous times, and that is making it really hard for Kikkawa to mount any kind of sustained offence. Bubb hits a shoulder block again, then a discus punch that both stuns Kikkawa and takes him into Danger level. The big Canadian doesn't wait around, he instantly goes for - and hits - a massive Hades Bomb. The referee counts....and it's a three? In an absolute shocker, Kikkawa, the most feared Japanese wrestler of the past decade, gets absolutely creamed by BLZ Bubb in under 15:00. Once Bubb got his momentum up, he controlled the entire second half of the match, and Tadiyuki could barely get in two moves in a row before the Canadian came right back again with punches and clotheslines. Kikkawa still had energy left at the end, so it's a surprise that he didn't manage to kick out given his legendary toughness. BLZ Bubb, who has dominated this tournament, now moves onto the final to face Sean McFly, and given his enormous size and power advantage has to be the big favourite to win this tournament completely. Winner: BLZ Bubb (pinfall -> Hades Bomb) Time: 14:10 Grade: F

Tournament Final, Two Out Of Three Falls: Sean McFly vs BLZ Bubb Overview We have a battle of styles in the final. BLZ Bubb is the classic monster heel; incredibly vicious and powerful and likes to fight upright. Sean McFly is the classic underdog babyface, using speed and technique to fight back. Bubb will be looking to use his Hades Bomb, which has secured all four of his victories in the tournament, to pick up the win here. He'll also be using his Devil's Hammer (big clubbing blow), Overhead Fallaway Slam, and many variations of chokes. His moves are all power based, and if they hit will seriously hurt the much smaller McFly. Sean will look to use his speed and technique to either block, slip out or avoid all of Bubb's big moves. His Delorean Driver finisher is out of the question as he won't be able to lift the giant Canadian, so instead he will be relying on his Face Crusher (which has gotten him two wins so far) and his Scorpion Deathlock. The two out of three falls stipulation both helps and hinders him. The longer the match goes on the better, as his stamina far exceeds his opponent's, so the lengthier match will help. However, in order to win he will need to beat BLZ Bubb twice, which is two more times than anyone else has managed so far. The Match The bell rings, and instantly Bubb is on the attack, taking McFly off his feet twice in the opening thirty seconds with big shots. He keeps driving McFly to the corner, where he can unload on him with right hands. To his credit, Sean isn't taking it lightly, he is using speed to get behind the monster, and is using dropkicks and chops to come back. BLZ Bubb isn't selling any of them, but they have to be taking their toll. BLZ takes control around the ten minute mark, as he finally manages to keep Sean in one place long enough to punish him, locking on a camel clutch and then kicking him in the face repeatedly. His momentum is shooting up, and the worry is that this will be a repeat of the semi-final and he will win this match without breaking a sweat. McFly keeps coming back, but the momentum difference, when added to the size and power of Bubb, is making it really difficult for him. A couple of leg lariats and a big dropkick keep him at least still in the match, but Bubb is definitely in control - we're 15:00 in and he almost has double McFly's energy levels. At seventeen minutes BLZ scores with a massive side slam, and things are not looking good - McFly is now in Danger levels, while Bubb is still at Medium. Bubb goes for a Hades Bomb, but Sean uses his speed to slip out of it. For the sake of a quality match that is good news, as it's unlikely Sean could kick out if it hits. That finisher scare seems to spur on McFly, and we see an awesome sequence as he makes a big comeback, scoring with a missile dropkick, a DDT, and a sleeper hold neckbreaker. Showing great fighting spirit McFly has managed to get Bubb down toward the Danger levels too. Sean scores with another DDT, and that takes Bubb into Danger. He goes for the Scorpion Deathlock, but Bubb has the ropes and it is broken. McFly's comeback has been spectacular, he has completely reversed the momentum. Bubb comes back with a forearm and goes for a Hades Bomb, but McFly easily slips out, scores with a Springboard High Cross Body, and then follows up with a legdrop from the top turnbuckle for a two count. The American throws BLZ Bubb through the ropes to the outside, then follows with a stunning Running Plancha Dive through the ropes. He follows that up by applying the Scorpion Deathlock at the 34:00 mark! He's on the outside of the ring so it won't count, but it has certainly hurt Bubb. They return to the ring, and BLZ comes back with a set of forearms, but then walks into a DDT....and he is bust open! Sean has managed to bust open the monster as we approach the 45:00 mark, and that could be vital, as the longer the match goes, the more than blood loss is going to weaken Bubb. BLZ comes back with a Big Foot and Sidewalk Slam, but misses a Devil's Hammer and gets caught with a lightning quick Face Crusher! The referee counts to three, and Sean McFly takes an upset lead in this match, he's 1-0 up over a bloody and battered BLZ Bubb. First Fall Winner: Sean McFly (pinfall -> Face Crusher) Time: 44:00 McFly tries to capitalise, scoring with a corner clothesline and missile dropkick. He scores with a Fame Dropper ("Rocker Dropper"), and that scores a close two count. More importantly, that move opened up the cut some more and BLZ Bubb is now bleeding really heavily, it's flowing down his face and even getting on Sean too. Sean takes him up to the top rope to attempt a superplex at 52:00, but Bubb fights back and goes for the top rope choke slam! Sean blocks, saving himself from a certain three count. They end up back in the ring, and Sean once again throws Bubb to the outside, this time following up with a regular Plancha. He then goes to the top rope, and in a visually devastating aerial attack scores with a flying clothesline from the top rope to Bubb at ringside. McFly is busting out all the stops in this final. He picks up a stunned Bubb and DDTs him on the arena floor. BLZ Bubb is virtually drowning in blood now, and the referee is looking concerned. One more serious head shot and the match will probably be stopped, meaning McFly will get the victory. They go back into the ring, and Sean tries a flying high cross body from the top rope....but Bubb counters by catching him in a Powerslam for a two count. We're almost at the hour mark and Bubb is exhausted, covered in blood, and 1-0 down, but you have to give him credit, he's still hanging in there and fighting. The match has almost gone the exact opposite of what we expected, it was McFly we thought would be fighting for his life in there, not the big Canadian. McFly scores with two dropkicks, but Bubb rolls through a Springboard High Cross Body to get a two. They stand...and Bubb reacts quickest, hitting a Hades Bomb. With blood absolutely everywhere, he rolls on top and picks up the three count! After a monumental effort, Bubb has gotten back into this match and levelled it at 1-1. Second Fall Winner: BLZ Bubb (pinfall -> Hades Bomb) Time: 60:40 Bubb doesn't have much left in the tank, he needs to use his advantage and end this match quickly. He scores with a big foot and powerslam for a two. He lifts Sean up and applies an Over Shoulder Backbreaker, but the American won't give in. Bubb is really putting on the pressure now. He goes for a second Over Should Backbreaker, but McFly slips out the back. Bubb turns, kick to the gut....Face Crusher! That will probably have opened up the cut enough to cause the match to be stopped, but the referee doesn't have time to check it because McFly falls on top for the pinfall attempt. One. Two. Three! Third Fall Winner: Sean McFly (pinfall -> Face Crusher) Time: 61:40 Incredible match, it rightly got the A*, and the tournament final turns out to be the most dramatic of the entire event. It went over an hour, which in itself is an achievement considering the first finisher was attempted at 18:00. Bubb nearly drowned in blood at the end, and would have been declared medically unfit to continue had the final pinfall not happened after that Face Crusher, but still managed a massive effort right at the very end to not only tie the match at 1-1, but to nearly pull off a victory. It was an awesome performance from Sean McFly though, who managed to come back from being massively behind at one point to not only take the lead, but then to hand the much bigger man an ass-kicking for the remainder of the match. Sean McFly wins the tournament, and with two A* matches to his credit and no easy opponents, you can't say he didn't deserve it! Winner: Sean McFly (2 - 1) Time: 61:40 Grade: A*

No, you can't set it so that only certain matches are 2/3 Falls, you can just do it for general matches. So you could set the percentages so that 100% singles matches are 2\3 falls (which is how all the lucha feds are constructed) or that there's an even split between Hardcore and Cage matches and nothing else, but that's applied to the whole card, not to a certain set.

:O That will be so cool that you can put promotions to do 2/3 matches all the time. That was amazing, Sean McFly might be my new favorite character in the McFlyverse. He took out the champion, he took out the giant, he took home the win. Right when this comes out someone remind me to do a McFly diary IMMEDIATELY because I've fallen in love over him here. Great writing Adam, you haven't got enough credit for writing this. Thanks a lot for all of your contribution to give us looks at the game and the greatness of the stars of the Cornellverse(~!)
