<strong>Justice Jolson & The Masked Mauler VII</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="margin-left:25px;">To understand this alliance between Justice Jolson and The Masked Mauler VII in Summit Pro Wrestling, the individuals themselves need to be understood first. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>The Masked Mauler VII</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> is the newest incarnation of a character that has been around for as long as professional wrestling itself, or so it seems. The mask has stuck around the Tri-State area for most of its existence, appearing in New York City Wrestling and the American Pro Wrestling Federation regularly. Additionally, during the East Coast Wars of the late 1990s, the Masked Mauler V appeared in all four promotions (DAVE, XFW, PPPW, RPW) at one point or another. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

From what we here at TotalExtremeWrestling can find, the gimmick is believed to be portrayed by a young light heavyweight brawler named Lawrence Miles from New York. His relationship to previous Masked Mauler William Franklin is unknown at this time, and Franklin did not answer our request for an answer to that question.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

This incarnation of Masked Mauler is similar to the last in that he is an old-school heel, but Miles’ vision in Summit Pro Wrestling has a twist. Taking advantage of his growing charisma, Mauler is cutting promos on his social media accounts (@MaskedMauler7) about being in “the hurt business.” Before the first SPW show, he was shown sitting in a chair, camera close to his face, with a large man in a suit standing behind the chair. After February’s Salt City Slam, it became clear that that man was Justice Jolson, the 31-year old who was named “Mr. Pittsburgh” in 2015 by winning the annual Pittsburgh Bodybuilding Contest.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Justice Jolson</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> is a big heavyweight who towers over most of the SPW roster. This is the first name promotion he has ever worked for, which is surprising considering he is from Pittsburgh and would fit right into the scene with Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling. Maybe he just doesn’t like that hardcore style of wrestling. We have not been able to obtain any footage of matches he has had, but Pittsburgh locals have spoken to us about witnessing Jolson’s matches. Every single of those people have stated that they were squash matches against much smaller guys. Thus, we have absolutely zero clue what his style is, or how skilled he is. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At Salt City Slam in February, the duo of Mauler and Jolson interfered in an SPW Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match between Samoan Destruction Inc and Dead Man Walken & Keith Vegas. It was clear that the Samoans were going to win, so it begs the question of why Walken and Vegas were attacked seemingly randomly. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After the show, a match between Masked Mauler VII and Keith Vegas was made for March’s Brawl in Buffalo. The match was relatively even until Jolson yanked Vegas out of the ring under the rope with the referee distracted, and socked him with a brass ring. He slid Vegas back into the ring and Mauler locked on the Iron Claw to the already-unconscious opponent. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The brutal attack on Keith Vegas for the second month in a row begs the question “why?” Truth be told, we have yet to receive an answer to that. We do not know what they want in Summit Pro Wrestling, and we do not know if there is a personal vendetta against Keith Vegas and perhaps Dead Man Walken, or if the two of them were just at the wrong place at the wrong time.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

TotalExtremeWrestling believes that we may receive an answer to that this month at Capital Carnage. With the first Immortal Summit taking place in May, which we are told is going to be SPW’s Supreme Challenge or Total Mayhem, it makes sense that the feud will take one more step forward before coming to a head at that show.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Whatever the case may be, the words of The Masked Mauler VII are still ringing in our eyes, and we will continue to hear them until we find out what they mean.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“We are in the hurt business. We are from the place where your darkest fears rise to the surface, break through, and pillage the soil. You are not safe anymore.”</div><p></p><p>

</p><div style="margin-left:25px;">At 24 years of age, </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Logan Wolfsbaine</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> is one of the hottest prospects in the United States wrestling scene. He was voted TotalExtremeWrestling’s Young Wrestler of the Year in 2017. Being the nephew of one of the most successful gaijins in the history of puroresu in Raymond Diaz, such accolades were expected.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Wolfsbaine was a two-time state champion in freestyle wrestling in high school, so it was not just nepotism giving him his start in wrestling; no, it was clear skill. Immediately upon declaring intention to turn pro in December 2015, Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling signed him up. He became an instant hit there, becoming in a three-time PSW National champion by the end of the decade. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

When Jack Bruce was scouting talent for his new promotion in Upstate New York, Logan Wolfsbaine was his number one. Bruce’s desires became a reality when Logan signed in December of 2019, on one condition. His cousin </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>James Diaz</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;">, son of Raymond, was finishing his training one week later. Bringing in Logan meant bringing in James as well. A compromise was made to have Logan assume the surname of Diaz to utilize their family pedigree. The contracts were signed shortly thereafter, and </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Logan Diaz</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> was born. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The Diaz Family tag team has proven to be a smash hit for Summit Pro Wrestling. They head into the finals of the inaugural SPW Tag Team Championship Tournament against noted veterans of tag team wrestling, Samoan Destruction Inc. The team of Rhino Umaga and Samoan Machine spent most of the their careers in Golden Canvas Grappling based out of Kansai before the legendary company closed its doors in March 2017. Just a few months later, they signed with Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling where they have become two-time PSW Tag Team champions. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Will the young cousins be able to handle the 43 years of combined in-ring experience of Samoan Destruction Inc? Find out at SPW Capital Carnage on Monday Week 4, April 2020.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Very enjoyable diary so far! I'd actually like one or two more sentences on the matches that go beyond the road agent notes that the game generates for you to add some context, but I really like the pre- and post-show notes. The two introduction articles you've just posted are a really nice read as well.

Inaugural SPW Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals

The Diaz Family (James & Logan Diaz) vs. Samoan Destruction Inc. (Rhino Umaga & Samoan Machine)

Tough one to call. 50/50 decision for me, but giving James and Logan the titles opens up more possible story arcs.

Special Six-Man Tag

SPW Heavyweight Champion Ernest Youngman & The CANtucky Express (Philippe LeGrenier & Zippy Deverell) vs. Jimmy Cox & The Casey Brothers (Chuck & Tully)

Even though it's a tag team match, an early loss would hurt Youngman, and I don't really think that's necessary here.

Singles Match

Justice Jolson (w/ The Masked Mauler VII) vs. Dead Man Walken (w/ Keith Vegas)

If you want this to be a feud, Keith Vegas needs to get some momentum going, and helping Walken win this match could be the first step towards that.

Singles Match

Dominic DeGraff vs. Ben Williams

Maybe?

Thank you everyone for the responses and predictions! I'm learning as I go so if you see big discrepancies between shows or mistakes just know I'm trying :p

I've been keeping the results to one sentence mainly because I am not creative enough to go in depth :D but I will definitely take that into consideration! Thank you!

Loving the presentation of this Dalton!

Thank you ModeratorHero ;)

SIDE NOTE: I'm having trouble deciding if I have the right product for the company. I use Modern Throwback. but I don't know if that's the best one for SPW. I was thinking either Golden Age or Silver Age, or Wrestling Nerd Nirvana? I can't figure it out so if anyone could help that'd be great :p

SPW Capital Carnage 2020

Before the show...

g20vypR.jpg

I definitely did not expect to get a phone call from him.

“What do you mean you’re not working for Larry Vessey anymore.”

“I just can’t do it there anymore. Larry’s a great guy and all, but sh*t man it ain’t 1976 anymore. NYCW is stuck in the past. Something’s gotta give.”

“Trust me, I’ve had that same conversation with him plenty of times.”

“Well, I’m looking for some work if you’re looking for another hand.”

“There’s always room for someone as talented as you.”

“I think I’m right on the cusp of making it big right now, but I need some work for now so I can get footage for the tapes.”

“I wouldn’t expect you to be here for long anyway. They’ve been talking about you in the SWF for the last decade. I can’t believe you haven’t gotten a call from Jerry or Allen yet, or even Kyle.”

“That’s why I think I gotta make my own move. Build some more indie rep, then go for a tryout or something.”

“Well I’ll take you on for sure man. I’d be stupid to turn you away. We got our first Immortal Summit coming up in May. I haven’t had a good surprise yet in SPW, and you’d be a good one. I’ll give you a call after the show in Albany.”

“Will do Mr. Bruce. Thanks for taking my call.”

This was a good catch.

The day of the show was anything but normal. Where do I even begin. To start, Samoan Destruction Inc. had an internal breakdown in the locker room before the show. From what I gathered, Bali (Samoan Machine) forgot his wallet and so Rav (Rhino) had to pay for their hotel room by himself the night before the show. This led to them already being on separate pages, so when Bali made a snide remark to his partner in the locker room, Rav flipped out and they started to tussle.

I think it was more like brothers fighting than anything else. But they still fought in the locker room before a show, so I needed to do something. I docked Rav’s pay for the night and told Bali if I hear any more remarks from him he’ll be fined too. I plan on giving them the fine back next show as long as I don’t have any more problems with them. Just needed to send a message that just because they’re veterans doesn’t mean its Romper Room back there. Plus, they had a freakin’ title match tonight. The infighting forced me to reevaluate my booking for the night. I need to trust my champions.

I also heard from my referee Jez that Dead Man (Ryan) Walken was kicked out of the locker room for being a prick. Walken came up to me before the show complaining about it. I told him “Kid, there’s a lot more to this business than what goes on in the ring. If they decided to make you change in the hallway, there’s a reason for it.”

He got the message. He’s only 22. Young and dumb.

On the bright side, after Walken was allowed back in to the locker room and the Samoans settled their problems, Frankie Perez lightened up the mood with some road stories. California is a party apparently. A lot of the boys have never been to the west coast. Maybe one day we’ll have a show there. I gotta teach these boys about the three best things in California: the women, the weather, and the food.

Rhino Umaga and Samoan Machine got into a shoving match

Dead Man Walken annoyed the locker room with his selfish behavior

Frankie Perez entertained everyone with hilarious road stories

Singles Match

Before Justice Jolson’s match with Dead Man Walken, Masked Mauler VII cut a short promo on his opponents. To end his promo, Mauler named his team with Jolson.

“Not only are we in the hurt business, we are The Hurt Business.”

Singles Match

PlBXDtJ.jpg VS. sjdjKm2.jpg

Justice Jolson (w/ The Masked Mauler VII) vs. Dead Man Walken (w/ Keith Vegas)

The match here was a schmoz. After 10:21 of fighting and plenty of outside interference, Jolson went into a rage, pummeling Walken in the corner until he was disqualified. Mauler and Vegas got into the ring and Vegas sent Mauler over the top rope with a clothesline. When Jolson charged at him, he pulled down the top rope and the big man went tumbling over. Follow that up with a plancha by Vegas onto the duo, and the babyfaces stood tall to end the segment.

Rating: 25

Special Six Man Match

m7oahXM.jpgZzVxIny.jpgOnYe3c4.jpg VS. moNHVEf.jpgD2FR9FM.jpgRXsfVIt.jpg

SPW Heavyweight Champion Ernest Youngman & The CANtucky Express (Philippe LeGrenier & Zippy Deverell) vs. Jimmy Cox & The Casey Brothers (Chuck & Tully)

Jimmy Cox pinned Zippy Deverell with an Immortal Driver at 16:39. The story of the match was Youngman unwilling to fight Cox, tagging out every time Cox was in the ring. Youngman eventually took out Tully Casey with The Hit, but brother Chuck would dive onto Youngman and LeGrenier. That left Deverell alone in the ring against Cox, who ended the match swiftly.

Rating: 44

After the pinfall, Youngman attempted to blindisde Cox with the SPW Heavyweight Championship belt, but Cox ducked and hit Youngman with the Immortal Driver! Cox held up the title, and grabbed a mic to challenge Youngman to a match at the first ever Immortal Summit next month!

Confederation of the Territories Showcase Match

rBoPz8P.jpg VS. mbRDkW3.jpg

CZCW’s Frankie Perez vs. NYCW’s The Masked Stranger

The match proved to be a disappointment after Stranger went down early clutching his ribs, hurt by a hard standing moonsault in which Perez’s knees hit Stranger’s midsection. Perez was forced to take control for the majority of the match. Stranger’s comeback was deeply hampered by the injury, and a weak Cobra Clutch put Perez away in 22:21.

In a match to crown SPW’s first ever tag team champions, Samoan Destruction Inc. won in 22:20 when James Diaz submitted to Samoan Machine’s Unbreakable Sleeper. James played the babyface in peril throughout the match, as Logan received two hot tags. It wouldn’t be enough however, as Rhino speared Logan out of the ring, leaving the 18 year old James by himself with the tactical veteran.

April 2020 Post Show

Post-Show Thoughts

g20vypR.jpg

I wouldn’t say I’m satisfied the show, but I’m definitely not disappointed. It was a weaker show on paper outside of the main event, and was more for building towards the Immortal Summit next month. I decided to bring in Frankie Perez and Masked Stranger to bolster the show a bit, but even that went down poorly. Stranger broke his ribs early into the match, but to his credit he did finish the match, albeit painfully. Larry’s not going to be happy about this. I’ll wait a while before I ask to use his talent again.

The Justice Jolson vs. Dead Man Walken went as well in-ring as I expected: poor. But that’s okay, the goal of the match was to build towards the tag match at the Summit. I couldn’t have Mauler beat Vegas last month and Jolson go over Walken here as well. So, I found a compromise in having Walken win by disqualification after Jolson goes into a fit of rage. It gives the victory to Walken, while also protecting Jolson and putting him over as a monster. The Hurt Business may be a cliché name, but eh as far as I know no one else in the business today is using it.

Ernest Youngman and Jimmy Cox’s rivalry should be coming to a head next month at the Summit, unless plans change again. I originally had a different opponent for Ernie, but I wanted to give the show a main event that had a decent story going into it. Ernie’s only true rival thus far has been Jimmy, and the match has a great story in the cocky young champion against the wise old veteran. I’ve made up my mind on whose going over, but I’m not telling them until the show. It’ll make Ernie appreciate the title that much more, and gives Jimmy reason to stay focused and hungry.

Ox6C5RQ.jpg

I also had to make that phone call I talked about. I’m having him debut at the Immortal Summit as a surprise. I need to find a way to start a storyline with him right at that show too. Not sure who on the roster could fit that role, but I’ll figure it out. First things first though, I needed to make sure he would be there.

Wednesday Week 1, May 2020

8OnMYUi.jpg

“Big Bad Dom” Dominic DeGraff is a 24 year old Italian-American from Queens, NY. His father Anthony is a huge wrestling fan and instilled that in his son Dominic at a very young age. Not just fans of the Supreme Wrestling Federation, the DeGraff family would import tapes of matches from Burning Hammer, Golden Canvas, and PGHW as well! It was Pistol Pete Hall who Dominic idolized the most, so much so that when he began training to become a professional wrestler in Queens, he mirrored the bruising style of Pistol Pete. It also helped that Dominic was a big teenager and was a true light heavyweight by 21. He chose his trademark Double Arm DDT after watching Pistol Pete use it as a setup move on Hiroyasu Gakusha.

Turning pro in 2016, Dominic wrestled at a variety of independent shows in New York City and the surrounding area. He worked a couple shows up to Connecticut, and a few in New Jersey and Maryland as well. His first real break came in December 2019 when he received a call from Jack Bruce. Yes, that Jack Bruce, to work for Summit Pro Wrestling based out of Utica, NY. Dominic jumped on the opportunity.

In his short time with SPW, he has proven to be a solid member of the roster, albeit wedged in the midcard behind the veterans at the top. At such a young age, the sky is the limit for Dominic. After teaming with fellow young brawler Cip Conduit and taking two losses, Dominic went solo at Capital Carnage and defeated Ben Williams in singles action. He has a #1 contenders match coming up at SPW’s first ever Immortal Summit against Logan Diaz and The Architect in a three way match. The odds are stacked against him, but the fiery Italian has proven time and time again that he is not to be overlooked.

Outside of wrestling, Dominic helps his parents run DeGraff’s Pizzeria in Queens. It’s known as one of Queens’ most popular pizza stops.

Three Way Match for the SPW Tag Team Championship

Samoan Destruction Inc. © vs. The Casey Brothers vs. The CANtucky Express

Didn’t think the Samoan’s would win at the last event even before their internal dissention but I can’t see these guys winning here

Tag Team Match

Keith Vegas & Dead Man Walken vs. The Hurt Business (The Masked Mauler VII & Justice Jolson)

Jolson (in the past)has been terrible in ring. That said Mauler might have something and Walken because of his issues back stage probably needs a lesson

Three Way #1 Contenders Match for SPW Heavyweight Championship

Dominic DeGraff vs. Logan Diaz vs. MAW’s The Architect

Logan is a face and while it might be a little bit soon, he looks like a contender for the title

Winner Receives Contract with Summit Pro Wrestling

Quentin Queen & Davis Wayne Newton vs. Jerry Pepper & Garry the Entertainer

Davis Wayne has potential, don’t know Jerry Pepper and Garry is less than entertaining.

Special guest - Tennessee William

Good job on the profiles for Mauler, Jolson, Wolfsbaine, and DeGraff. I liked the wikipedia feel of Degraff's bio, and the explanation of Mauler & Jolsons partnership. The term The Hurt Bussiness sounds peculiar to me, but hopefully more info will be given about Maulers meaning of this as shows go on.

I'm glad you added some more details to matches, made them more interesting to read. I think you underestimate your creativity. You got it in you to make good write-ups for matches.

For the product if Modern ain't working, maybe just try the standard one, I think it's called Balanced or something.

Cage Match for the SPW Heavyweight Championship

Ernest Youngman © vs. Jimmy Cox

I like the story here, Youngman young and running wild, Cox is trying to prove he still has gas in the tank. It was weird that Youngman challenged Cox to the Cage considering he was wanting no part of him in the tag match. It would have been better to have Bruce say after the show "...to make sure Youngman stays to fight Cox, the match will be in a cage."

Three Way Match for the SPW Tag Team Championship

I don't see them dropping the titles so soon after grabbing them. But maybe their backstage antics make it happen.

Tag Team Match

Keith Vegas & Dead Man Walken vs. The Hurt Business (The Masked Mauler VII & Justice Jolson)

I think this feud is to get over The Hurt Business and nothing else. So Mauler & Jolson get a dominating win.

Three Way #1 Contenders Match for SPW Heavyweight Championship

Dominic DeGraff vs. Logan Diaz vs. MAW’s The Architect

Logan was set for a singles run before he forced James in as a caveat. I see him getting the win and heading towards Youngman.

I really like Quentin Queen :)

Cip Conduit Special Profile

Wednesday Week 1, May 2020

GVOjsR5.jpg

Nicknamed “The Blue Hill Brawler” based on his hometown of Blue Hill, Maine, Cip Conduit is a fiery young talent finding his way in the independent wrestling scene. From a young age, it was clear that Cip (pronounced ‘Kip’) wanted to be a professional wrestler. Immediately after graduating high school, he joined the Piledriver School of Wrestling. He finished training within a year, albeit a bit prematurely, and began his career in 2012. Not particularly talented in any form other than straight up brawling, he struggled to get his career off the ground. He once had a dark match for Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling in 2015, but owner Mitch Naess saw him as a one-dimensional wrestler who could only throw punches and not much else.

He meandered around the independent scene until January 2020, when Jack Bruce gave him a call to work for Summit Pro Wrestling. Jack’s reasoning for the hire was a need for a old-fashioned brawler in the middle of the card to give the crowd some action. It was here that Jack gave him the gimmick of a “smug thug,” which basically means that Cip is a no-nonsense, blue-collared fighter. Like someone you’d see fighting outside of a bar. The gimmick took off immediately with the hard-nosed fans across Upstate New York. Some fans have even called the gimmick “legendary,” which is about the highest praise a New Yorker will give a wrestler. Under the tutelage of the legendary Jack Bruce, he has already been improving ten-fold.

The beginning of his career to SPW has been spotty, and he has only had two matches both of which were tag team matches where his partner was Dominic DeGraff. Though he sits at 0-2 right now, he has also been left off two shows as well, which is a bad sign for a company with only 16-18 regular performers. He is also not scheduled to appear at the company's first ever Immortal Summit in three weeks. Despite that, rumors are swirling that Cip may be inserted into a short-term midcard feud of some sort, something that SPW has been lacking for the last few shows.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Cip Conduit. Will his career take off with Summit Pro Wrestling, or will he forever be relegated to northeast independent wrestling?

The Immortal Summit show will be up at some point tomorrow, either by 11am EST or after 5pm EST. So if anyone else wants to join in on predictions, now is the time! Everyone is welcome to do them :)

Speaking of predictions, I'm trying to figure something out for a contest of some sort. The original plan was to have each winner pick a wrestler for me to profile, but I want to do something a bit bigger than that. I think from now on (including the predictions for the Summit), I'll keep a running tally for each voter, and then after a few months in-game, I'll come up with something good. Any suggestions are welcome because I'm drawing a blank.

SPW Immortal Summit I

Before the show...

g20vypR.jpg

I want the Immortal Summit to be our Supreme Challenge. I’m putting the first Roman numeral at the end of it for that very reason. This should be the show of the year, the season finale. But right now, I’m not so sure.

Some last minute personnel changes caused some last minute booking changes. After I received that phone call last month, I rewrote some of my plans for tonight and for the next few shows as well. I wanted to introduce the character in a good way, while not hotshotting immediately. In order for this company to last, some matchups would need to be saved. I mean, he’s not a superstar by any means, but he is definitely known in the Tri-State and could easily be one of my top guys very soon.

For tonight’s main event, I was very worried. I was worried about which Jimmy Cox SPW would get tonight: the GCG legend, or the broken down old man. I’m putting all my trust in him to have a great match with Ernie. A cage match should hide some of his weaknesses because it will mostly be brawling and messing with the cage. I told them that blood would be okay for the first time. I don’t know if they plan on doing that or not, but giving them the green light means they don’t have to hold back.

I brought in four guys tonight for a tag match where the winning team gets a contract. I’ve watched a ton of all four guys for tonight to make sure I’m bringing in the right guys. They’re all talented in their own way. Even for the losing guys, I’m still paying them the same as the winners tonight, and having worked a match for me here will up their asking price on the indies.

The Hurt Business team of Jolson and Mauler are having their first match as a team against Walken and Vegas, This storyline has been building for four shows now, and even if it’s a midcard feud, it’s been pretty hot. Not every feud needs a title.

Speaking of Justice Jolson, I had to reprimand him before the event. Tully Casey was lifting weights when Jolson went up to him and basically him called a p***** for not lifting enough. I had to explain to him “Bro, you were a bodybuilder. Shut up.”

Remember last month when Rhino Umaga caused a fight with his tag team partner? Well tonight he picked a fight with Jimmy Cox, leading to another brawl that had to be broken up by the rest of the locker room. He’s getting too much to handle now. I put the belt on him and this happens? I docked his pay completely for the night. I gave Samoan Machine his money back from last month too though. I don’t know, they’re so talented, but Rhino is so damn unprofessional. Samoan Machine may get a singles run soon.

Oh well, it was almost showtime. Getting the damn cage together was the most difficult thing ever. The way we had to do it was to put each side of the cage together, then when it came time for the main event, attach the sides together. That sh*t was expensive to buy.

After 10:25, Newton pinned Garry with his patented Fisherman’s Suplex. The winners here were much better in the ring tonight, earning their contracts for sure. Despite that, the losers showed great chemistry teaming together, chaining together some awesome sequences.

The Hurt Business defeated Dead Man Walken and Keith Vegas in 15:18 when The Masked Mauler VII pinned Dead Man Walken with a Piledriver. THB’s tag chemistry was all over the place here. Let’s hope it was just one night of poor chemistry after all the time dumped into them.

Dominic DeGraff vs. Logan Diaz vs. MAW’s The Architect

In SPW's first ever three-way match, Logan Diaz picked up the victory but submitting The Architect with the Boston Crab at 15:12. The Architect was more than happy to put over the other home competitors in this match, contributing to a good match. The end of the match came when The Architect hit a powerbomb on DeGraff and threw him out of the ring in order to go after Diaz, but Diaz gave The Architect a drop-toe hold leading to the Crab.

Logan Diaz is now the #1 contender for the SPW Heavyweight Championship!

Samoan Destruction Inc. © (Rhino Umaga & Samoan Destruction) vs. The Casey Brothers (Chuck & Casey) vs. The CANtucky Express (Philippe LeGrenier & Zippy Deverell)

In a controversial finish, Samoan Machine pinned Zippy Deverell at 21:56. It was controversial because there was a double pin to end the match. While Samoan Machine was pinning Zippy, Tully was pinning LeGrenier at the same time! But the referee counted the champions’ pin without seeing the other one. Thus, both teams thought they had won, leading to a brawl to the back. This won’t be the end of these two teams.

The time for the mystery appearance was here. The lights dimmed,
, and out he came.

“I’m here baby! Riley McManus is in Summit Pro Wrestling. After years and years of traveling the East Coast, I have arrived in Upstate New York, in Utica! I’ll keep this short and simple. I am here for one thing, and that is to leave a mark on the very foundation of this company. To leave that mark, I need to start at the top. I want the SPW Heavyweight Championship. 13 years of experience led me to right here. With that being said----”

, but no one came out from behind the curtain. While McManus was staring at the entryway, he was jumped from behind by a hooded man… it’s Cip Conduit!

GVOjsR5.jpg

What in the world does he want? After laying him out with a big lariat, Conduit grabbed a microphone.

“Don't think you get to waltz on in here and think you've earned something. Nah, I want that belt too. You start at the back of the line. Welcome to Summit Pro, Riley.”

Ernest Youngman © vs. Jimmy Cox

In the best match in the history of Summit Pro Wrestling, Ernest Youngman retained the SPW Heavyweight Championship in 23:10 after hitting an elbow drop from the top of the cage, followed by The Hit! The match was a war, with both men bleeding relatively early in the match. Jimmy relied heavily on brawling, punching Youngman in the head and opening him hardway and then rubbing his forehead into the cage. Youngman fought back with technical skills, always sliding around Cox and locking in submissions and holds. After a hard ripcord lariat, Youngman scaled the cage before turning around and hitting an elbow drop! He brought Cox to his feet and then KO’d him with The Hit! Three seconds later, Youngman seizes the victory.

Ernest Youngman makes defense #2 of the SPW Heavyweight Championship.

Youngman stood in the middle of the ring holding his prized championship belt. Cox was still down and out on the mat. Youngman put his foot on the chest of his fallen enemy, and raised the SPW Heavyweight title high in the air.

Very very good predictions fellas. No one guessed McManus though, I may have hyped him up too much... but that's pro wrestling for ya :D

I'm going to keep a tally for a few months before announcing an overall winner. The prize is TBD, but it'll be much bigger than picking a profile. It will have an impact on the story. Also thank you to CPBHBK for sending me a PM with some awesome contest ideas that I may end up using!

Post-Show Thoughts

g20vypR.jpg

I am happy. That was our best show yet. It was carried hard by the awesome main event, the cage match. Ernest Youngman is a damn superstar. If there were any doubts, they were erased last night. He carried Jimmy Cox to the best match in our history. If I had to rate it, I’d say Ernie did about 70/100 of the performance, with Cox doing around 30/100. Cox was carried hard. But that’s okay, that’s what I expected. Jimmy’s job in the first half of the year was to help establish Ernie as our star, and he succeeded. He did a phenomenal job. Ernie too, he is amazing. I made the right choice giving him the title. He has already made the SPW Heavyweight title prestigious. If I had to put money on it, I’d say he’s the best champion out of all the COTT members.

Riley McManus was revealed as the surprise. Underwhelming to some, overwhelming to some, whelmed to many. He may not be an established star yet, but hyping him up as much as I did certainly brought more eyes to him. He is very talented in the ring, but has never truly been given a chance to shine. I knew I couldn’t hot shot him into the title picture right away, so I gave him a feud right off the bat. Cip Conduit. Why him? Well, that’s a very good question. Conduit is just “recognizable” to our fans, and not much more. That’s what happens when late changes are made. I had already announced a card with most of the roster, leaving me with slim pickings. But that’s okay, Conduit is very serviceable and a good hand to have. This will raise his stock as well. I have very high hopes for McManus, I just hope he doesn’t get stolen from me too quickly.

I had a quick talk with Jimmy after the show.

JB: “Hey Jimmy, thank you.”

JC: “Jack, I’m f**kin dyin’ right now. That elbow drop went through my heart I swear to god.”

JB: “You’re a tough guy, you can handle it.”

JC: “From the top of the cage Jack.”

JB: “It was only 10 feet.”

JC: “Top. Of. The. Cage. Jack.”

JB: “I could handle it.”

JC: “Book it.”

JB: “...So about Ernie, he’s a pretty good talent isn’t he?”

JC: “He is the future of this business. He is the best I’ve been in the ring with since Pistol Pete.”

JB: “That’s high praise.”

JC: “Not high enough. Not many people can carry 48-year-old broken down Jimmy Cox in a damn cage match. Whose idea was that anyway?”

JB: “…… So yeah, Ernie’s pretty good.”

JC: “Much appreciated boss.”

Maybe a cage match wasn't the best idea for an old man.

I plan on keeping Jimmy around for awhile longer. Maybe work with the younger guys. His time on top is definitely over with now that the feud is over, but he could teach this young guys some awesome stuff. Most guys with his experience are working for one of the big guys right now. I was lucky enough that he came out of retirement for me.

I also signed Quentin Queen and Davis Wayne Newton. They are both talented, especially Newton. While Queen is young and has a bright career ahead of him, Newton is 32 years old and in the prime of his career. He left FREEDOM Championship Wrestling in February, amicably I'll add. I can't believe he hasn't been signed yet either. Oh well, that just means he's available for me!

With the Summit over, it was back to business. Logan Diaz won the #1 contenders match. I can totally slot him into the #1 babyface role that we’re lacking right now. In fact, I think I will. He’s shown every show that he’s a cut above everyone else. I also have a tag team championship match on the books between the Samoans and the Caseys, because of that double pin on the CANtucky boys. I thought it was a nice way to push a new feud and still keep fresh challengers, since both teams "won" in a way.

I don’t have a name for next month’s show yet. I’m thinking of taking on that concept of naming the events after something pertaining to it, if that makes sense.

Let’s go with Summit Pro Wrestling Presents: The Rising Monster. I like that.

<p>The Assassin took out his first victim Jimmy Cox. I can tell how much you loved Cox from all your post-show comments lol. The post-show convo between Bruce & Cox was hard to follow at some points, putting the guys initials before the quotes would make it an easier follow. I don't know if you're gonna job Cox out or not but I think he could be a valuable part of a tag team with a young guy. Maybe Queen.</p><p>

I liked the double pin ending for the tag titles, it was a unique way to get a comeback one on one match. Speaking of three-ways I was wondering what will happen with DeGraff considering you didn't wanna make him lose against Diaz so you brought in Architect.</p><p> </p><p>
