Midwestern Women's Wrestling Association: 1929-???

Recommended Posts

The year is 1929. Wrestling as an industry has been around for 9 years at this point, since the moment Southern Pro Wrestling opened its doors. Midwestern Women's Wrestling association was founded in September of 1928 with the goal of showcasing the women of professional wrestling, who have been criminally underutilized in major promotions such as Southern Pro Wrestling, Frank Norris Promotions, and Pride of Germany.

Sunday, Week 4, April 1929

Cleveland, OH

Attendance: 183

Broadcast over radio on Great Lakes Radio for 85 listeners

Gabriela Suarez, World Champion, opens the show tonight. She is the company's first and only champion, winning the belt back in September of 1928, and defending it nearly weekly against the best women the world has to offer.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to tonight's MWWA show!" she cheerfully exclaims to the crowd of 183.

"Tonight, I'll be defending my world title against the up and coming Italian star, Nikki Ferranti!"

The yet undefeated Ferranti walks to the ring. She eyes up the champion, makes a face of disgust, spits at Suarez, and walks away.

Rating: 37

Araceli Devoe and Kiera Turek vs Danielle Allman and Scarlette Hollis

We start the night's matches with a tag bout. Araceli Devoe and Kiera Turek make their way to the ring first, greeting the fans with joy. Next out are "Cowgirl" Danielle Allman, and Scarlette Hollis. This unlikely partnership of Scarlette, a stuck up Northeasterner, and the Cowgirl from the plains, was born out of mutual hatred of Gabriela Suarez, whom they each failed to capture the title from over the past months.

Hollis starts off the in ring action, kicking Devoe into the corner and tagging in Allman. Allman, the power of the team, whips Devoe back into her corner where Turek gets the tag. Turek hits a few punches, but Allman slams into her with a Lariat for the win.

Rating: 20

Scarlette speaks after the boos from the crowd die down. "We are the Shadow Alliance. No one here in the tag division saw us coming, so you'd better watch your backs"

Rating: 36

Amira Gonzales vs Miah Cheek

A singles exhibition match is next. Beloved local worker, Amira Gonzales vs Miah Cheek. Both of these women are an interesting sight, with Amira dressing in gothic, dark garb, and Miah being an absolute weirdo whom the crowd despises. Once the crowd is finished marveling at the sheer strangeness of the women in the ring, the action begins. Amira starts out hot, getting Miah in a number of technically sound holds. Miah, once she gets free, fights with an incredibly impromptu style, which leaves the crowd amazed as she flies across the ring, limbs going everywhere. One of these movements seems to have been enough to put away Amira, and Miah sulks off to the back after her victory.

Rating: 17

Page Gagné approaches the ring next, and addresses the crowd. She is the protege of Daniel Loiselle, who has long been seen as the greatest professional wrestler of all time. She claims she will be showing off new holds tonight, and that the crowd is in for a real treat.

Rating: 9

Page Gagné vs Cindy Gaskill

Her opponent, Cindy Gaskill, gets in almost no offence, as Gagné shows masterful skill, ending the match with a brand new, yet-to-be-named submission hold that could only come from the mind of Loiselle.

Rating: 22

Gabriela Suarez vs Nikki Ferranti

The Main Event, as promised by Suarez, is Suarez vs Ferranti, with the MWWA World title on the line. Although Ferranti is beloved in her native Italy, this crowd is firmly behind Suarez. Ferranti gets in offence, with a number of European style grapples this crowd has never seen before. Suarez breaks out and gets in some of her signature high flying moves, only to be caught and slammed by the larger Ferranti. All it takes is one slip up, however, as Suarez breaks free of a submission hold, hits the top rope for a splash to win the match!

Rating: 25

Just as she holds the belt over her head, two masked figures approach the ring, and beat her down. That's Black Moth and Magenta Hawk! A hooded figure is behind them, clearly this person is the one behind the attacks. The hooded figure calls off their attackers, and draws back into the darkness of backstage, as the show closes.

Is this a real world dynastie ? Or a fictional ( like the cornelverse ) ?

This appears to be a run of Effganic's Effverse mod, which starts wrestling in 1920 with 1 company and about 10 workers and the rest of the world is generated by the game except a companies and some pre-gen workers (Like Page Gagne)

The dastardly Miah Cheek and her henchmen, Magenta Hawk and Black Moth, start the show in the ring. She is furious after her loss two weeks ago in the main event at the hands of Gabriela Suarez. She rants about how her loss was due to her and her alliance's powers not being at their full potential due to the celestial conditions not being right. However, tonight, the moon is at full power, and has given it's power through the vessel of Magenta Hawk, who will stop at nothing to defeat Gabriela tonight, and bring the title to The Cult.</p><p>

After the match, the new tag champions, The Shadow Alliance, show up, with a double lariat from Danielle Allman taking out the Girls Next Door from behind. Miah Cheek and her Cult approach the ring once again. She's even more furious than at the last show, frustrated that her cult cannot get a win. She takes Magenta Hawk, and kneels her down. She performs a ritual that she claims will transfer the power of Magenta Hawk into Black Moth, to create the ultimate wrestler. <strong>The Girls Next Door vs The Loyalists</strong></p><p>

The Loyalists are on top for the beginning of the match, as the Girls Next Door just took a beating. When Cerys Soles starts picking up steam, however, Gracia Urias comes in for a double team move that knocks both Loyalists out clean on their backs for the pinfall.</p><p>

<strong>Rating: 20</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Gabriela Suarez vs Black Moth</strong></p><p>

Black Moth enters the ring for the main event looking focused, driven, and powerful. If there was ever a night where the champion should be scared, this is it. Gabriela is cautious during the match, taking strikes from afar and countering moves where possible. The speed of Black Moth, mixed with this new found power, however, has Gabriela floored for much of the match. In an amazing sequence, Gabriela knocks the running Black Moth onto the floor, jumps to the second rope, and hits a spectacular backwards falling elbow for the victory!</p><p>
