1930 report

100 years of (Wrestling) Solitude - 1930 Report

1930 saw a great mystery solved and a new one develop. Queensland Wrestling Keith Laboy always seemed unconcerned about the viability of his

promotion and in February we found out why. He inherited $25 million dollars ($10 million after taxes and miscellaneous) and QW and can now sputter

along at their own tortoise like pace.

The bigger mystery is why has Daniel Loiselle stopped wrestling? He only wrestled four indie matches all year and none at all for QCW. Rumours abound:

he has fallen out of love with the business, he is in love, he has had a breakdown, he needs a break... no one seems to know. Indeed very few people in the

QCW have actually seen him this year, they just receive schedules for each show pinned on the locker room door. I better investigate...

One other item, Gabrielle Suarez, the sister of El Espiritu and probably the best free agent in Wrestling today, posed nude for a magazine. Her popularity increased

big time but big brother is most upset.

100 years of (Wrestling) Solitude - 1931 Report

Scandal! It was a black friday indeed when El Espiritu, Emilio Suarez, was busted by the federales in a drug dealing operation. A combination of a great

defence lawyer and a lenient judge left him with a fine rather than hard time but even so he is now officially TOXIC to the wrestling world for the foreseeable

future.

Viva La Lucha immediately fired El Espiritu and appointed Chairman X as the new head booker (a user generated low grade owner/booker who can work anywhere).

Unfortunately Paco Acuna also left at the same time and without their stars VLL tumbled back down to small size. A disastrous year for VLL.

Daniel Loiselle is now 41 and his body is letting him down. He can still turn out a 75 match against Savage Serge but his era of being the major star appears to be over.

Sir Anthony Henry is now 43 but he is still putting in the effort. He recorded matches of 80+ against no less than eight different SPW opponents

1934 sees the start of the reign of El Espiritu. It seems likely that he will be the dominant wrestler for the rest of the decade. He is

carrying both CSW and CWB to glory. He is nominally part of SPW but in name only, he hasn't wrestled for them at all.

Frank Norris Promotions eclipses his mentor and overtakes SPW. There can be little doubt that Don Loomis is past it and Joe Boone

wasn't that sharp to start with. However they had $15 million embezzled by their accountants.

15 years in, some observations

I love this game. If someone can point out a similar database based game with even close to this level of depth, immersion and adaptability I would buy it cold. However I do have some observations about the AI:

I have stopped commenting about promotions finances because it is almost irrelevant, beyond going bust. Nearly every organisation is sitting on millions and doing nothing with it.

IMO most of the medium level companies could benefit from better tv partnerships and a development strategy. At any one time 3-4 businesses are missing a head booker, should I intervene and

open up dojos, performance centres and development companies?

Small companies seem to pick radio stations at random, regardless of whether they will help them grow to medium. SPW in particular has been hamstrung by broadcasting for years on tristate radio which

does not help them grow.

The effganics mod is desperately short of road agents. I gather that to become a road agent ideally you need 65 psych, 70 experience and 70 respect alongside a stalwart or professional personality.

These days i automatically change the personality of any veteran to professional or stalwart if they tick the psych and experience boxes, but how do you get respect above 50?

I am going to take a more interventionist approach to help some of the mediums get up to big, by doing some more aggressive investments on their behalf. What's the point of $50 million in the bank if you

dont actually use it?

One final point: When do regional battles start? Or I have missed something?

I have stopped commenting about promotions finances because it is almost irrelevant, beyond going bust. Nearly every organisation is sitting on millions and doing nothing with it.
IMO most of the medium level companies could benefit from better tv partnerships and a development strategy. At any one time 3-4 businesses are missing a head booker, should I intervene and
open up dojos, performance centres and development companies?

Small companies seem to pick radio stations at random, regardless of whether they will help them grow to medium. SPW in particular has been hamstrung by broadcasting for years on tristate radio which
does not help them grow.

The effganics mod is desperately short of road agents. I gather that to become a road agent ideally you need 65 psych, 70 experience and 70 respect alongside a stalwart or professional personality.
These days i automatically change the personality of any veteran to professional or stalwart if they tick the psych and experience boxes, but how do you get respect above 50?

I am going to take a more interventionist approach to help some of the mediums get up to big, by doing some more aggressive investments on their behalf. What's the point of $50 million in the bank if you
dont actually use it?

One final point: When do regional battles start? Or I have missed something?

Keep doing this however you like it, it's a really nice dynasty

1939 saw the first child company created, when I took temporary ownership of Queensland Wrestling. Brisbane Beach Bums are

formed to train up the next generation of workers. Slow Joe Boone finally retires. In July reigning tag team wrestler of the year Kurt Beeson

is killed in a car accident, so the famed Ghostbusters duo are no more.

Ocasio has refereeing skill of 90 and he is still in his thirties. However there are two rookie refs with similar skill levels so maybe his long reign may be coming to an end.

Ocasio is a pretty decent booker (50/47) which could make him irresistible to a new org, especially as he is bilingual
