Seeing the trend toward MMA fighting and legitimate athletic events, Phil Vibert announced today that DAVE will vacate all of its current titles and begin holding “unmanipulated” contests to determine the new title holders. Vibert also retired the DAVE Tag Team titles, stating that from now on, all matches will be 1-on-1 encounters. Going forward, wins and losses will determine who moves up the ladder and who is left behind. All matches will be made by the Tri-State Wrestling Club (TSWC), which will be the new governing body for DAVE. The board of the TSWC consists of Vibert, Professor Nero, and Larry Wood. Vibert announced that in addition to the DAVE Unified Title and DAVE Supernova Title (holders must be under 26 years old), a new title will be added called the DAVE Tri-State Title. This title will be a stepping stone for those wanting to get a chance to compete for the Unified Title. Also, a Jr. Heavyweight Title will be created for those wrestlers under 225 pounds. Vibert feels that this a chance to start a new trend in wrestling where in-ring ability determines who wins in the end. Vibert emphasized that DAVE will now be more family friendly and should appeal to a much larger audience going forward. Vibert felt the change was necessary as DAVE in on the verge of becoming a nationally known wrestling power. He feels this change will allow DAVE to differentiate itself from the cartoonish and sometimes outlandish Supreme Wrestling Federation and Total Championship Wrestling. Vibert understands that many longtime fans of DAVE may be disappointed by the changes, but he feels that once they view the new product, they will see that the changes are for the best. A few more stipulations: Title matches will only occur on PPV shows. Unified Title matches will be 2 out of 3 falls matches Vibert thanked everyone for their time and reminded them to tune in on Friday night to Danger Zone TV to see the New and Improved DAVE. OOC: This is something I've been thinking about doing for a while. It's a continuation of my previous DAVE diary, just jumping forward a few months. I'll let the Road Agents determine who wins and loses each match. I'll also keep rankings along with big wins and losses for each wrestler. DAVE is a few weeks from growing to National size, so I didn't want to lose that hard work. Comments and Suggestions are welcome.

Danger Zone TV DARK Doug Peak defeated Rhino Umaga in 4:52 by pinfall. (* ½) Not a great match, but a hard hitter nonetheless. Peak scored the victory in Rhino’s debut in DAVE. Rhino shows a lot of potential and could work his way up the card in the future. Damian Carvill defeated John Maverick in 4:31 by pinfall with a Piledriver. (**) Solid technical match between the two Canadians. Carvill proved to be the better today, stunning Maverick with a kick to the gut and then driving him into the mat for the pinfall. Both men will be involved in the tournament to fill the Tri-State Title. Joey Minnesota cuts a promo saying he will win the Supernova Title and use it as a stepping stone to achieve even greater heights in DAVE and around the world. Darryl Devine (w/Cat Jemson) gives an interview talking about the switch in styles in DAVE. He says he is excited since it will give wrestlers a chance to advance based on their ability in the in-ring, not behind the curtain. LIVE Matt Sparrow defeated Hank Masters in 7:47 by pinfall with the Bird Brain Buster. (***) These two really clicked and had a great back and forth match that went nonstop from the opening bell. Sparrow ducked under Masters’ Superkick finisher and lifted him high into the air for the Bird Brain Buster (delayed brainbuster) to end the match. Both of these men will be forces to be reckoned with in the future in the Jr. Heavyweight division of DAVE. Sparrow advances and will face the winner of the Rodriguez/Russell match in the 2nd round of the tournament. Alex Braun had a short promo about being the oldest member of the Jr. Heavyweight Division and having a lot to prove to show that he is better than the younger generation. He knows he has his work cut out for him, but he’s ready for the challenge. Pablo Rodriguez defeated Billy Russell in 6:33 by pinfall with the Sinners' Salvation. (*** ¼) Pablo is one of the favorites in this tournament and he showed why tonight. Russell was never able to ground Pablo long enough to use his MMA skills. Pablo was able to best Billy on the mat and in the air. Rodriguez used a tombstone piledriver (since it’s legal in the US) to setup the Sinners’ Salvation (Frog Splash) for the win. Pablo advances to the next round and will have Matt Sparrow. After the match, Pablo challenged any of the other tournament participants to beat him. He says he is on a mission to win the DAVE Jr. Heavyweight Title and no one will stand in his way. Quick promos by Samoan Machine and Eddie Peak. Machine vows to keep his undefeated streak in DAVE alive. Peak says he will end that streak on the way to winning the tournament and the DAVE Unified Title. Eddie Peak defeated Samoan Machine in 10:59 by pinfall with the Peak Of Perfection. (*** ¼) Very good match. Experience overcame youth….this time. Machine had Peak on the ropes on a number of occasions, but Eddie kept finding ways to avoid defeat. Both men showed a lot of heart, but in the end, Peak was able to drive Machine into the mat with the Peak of Perfection to score the pinfall. Machine sulked after the match, having his undefeated streak ended. The crowd gave him a loud ovation for his heart and determination during the match. Peak advances and will face the winner of the Nemesis/Sanders match in the 2nd round. Art Reed (w/Cat Jemson) cut an outstanding promo about having the chance for his athletic ability to shine through for the fans. He’s excited about his match with JD Morgan and knows it will be a challenge to overcome the veteran British grappler. Nemesis cut a promo before his match with Sanders saying that he was unfairly stripped of the DAVE Unified Title and will use this slight as motivation to decimate not only Sanders, but anywhere else he faces in the tournament. Nemesis says he is DAVE and will show everyone that at his age, he is still the King of the Mountain. Nemesis defeated Rick Sanders in 9:46 by pinfall with a Nemesis Arrow. (*** ¾) Sanders fought a good fight, but a motivated Nemesis is a force to be reckoned with. Nemesis had the match won around the 7 minute mark, but pulled Sanders up from the cover and proceeded to verbally berate him about the tournament and having to prove that he is still the best in the company. Nemesis then delivered two more Nemesis Arrows before finally covering Sanders for the win. Nemesis stormed out of the ring while the medical team attended to Sanders. Sanders was eventually able to leave on his own power. Nemesis advances to the 2nd round of the tournament where he will face Eddie Peak.
