This is a dynasty I've been running on the Unofficial GDS discord for a week or two, and I have had a whole lot of fun doing it. I've done 11 shows there so far, and my plan is to port those all here to this thread, formatted as nicely as my inexperienced self can manage, before continuing posting the save both here and there. This is a real world dynasty, using a custom promotion, starting in June 2020. (shoutout to cooldude for the sick logo) The premise is as follows. A random man in the backwoods of West Virginia has found himself in possession of $100,000 and a mind that led him to one thing: a wrestling promotion. All that follows is the story of WVPW and those who work within it, forging a name in the industry for a state so often forgotten. All shows I post here, up to WVPW: Fire Mountain, are old posts, and the first new, live show will be the 12th one, WVPW: Nitro Explosion, for which I will post a match card for all who wish to predict. "Welcome, everyone! We're so glad to have you all here with us, as we have an absolute pleasure of a show for you tonight! And it's all because of this." He unveils the West Virginia Heavyweight championship, and places it on a pedistal where the grand prize of the night can be viewed throughout the show. "Tonight's matches are all part of the West Virginia Heavyweight Championship tournament, where the first ever champion of our promotion will be crowned!" Rating: 26 The tournament bracket is structured as shown above, with 4 qualifiers, and 4 automatic entries into the quarterfinals, a special attraction is the mystery entrant in the final qualifier. It could be anyone! Qualifiers Kahagas defeats Chance Prophet, Zane Dawson, and Mad Braddox Mad Braddox is furious, storming off after the match Rating: 24 Ricky Starks defeats Facade, Marion Fontaine, and Kyle Matthews Rating: 25 Royce Isaacs defeats Dave Dawson, KTB, and John Wayne Murdoch Rating: 30 Mad Braddox comes to the ring, addressing Isaacs with a wad of cash in hand. He offers the undisclosed wad of money in exchange for Isaacs's quarterfinal spot. Isaacs accepts quickly, shaking Braddox's hand! Rating: 40 The mystery entrant is up next... MY GOD, THAT'S THE KING OF THE BAYOU! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES, IT'S THE RUNNER UP OF TOUGH ENOUGH SEASON 6, ZAMARIAH "ZZ" LOUPE! Rating: 24 Trevor Murdock defeats ZZ Loupe, Jock Samson, and Jocephus ZZ Loupe exits stage in high spirits, handing out plastic alligator toys. Rating: 28 Quarterfinals Heath Slater defeats Kahagas Rating: 32 Ricky Starks defeats Curtis Axel by count out Curtis Axel is shocked by this countout decision! He argues for a minute or two with the referee, claiming he isn't technically eliminated. Axel is escorted out of the building by security. Rating: 33 Tex Ferguson defeats Mad Braddox Royce Isaacs counts his money at ringside during the match, looking happy not to be taking Braddox's place in this slaughter of a match Rating: 34 Trevor Murdock defeats Erick Rowan A battle of the big men had everyone on their feet, as Murdock gets the best of Rowan Rating: 44 Semifinals Heath Slater defeats Ricky Starks Ricky's skill and youthful energy have gotten him this far, but the extra match he had to compete in seems to have taken its toll, as Heath Slater outlasts him. Rating: 34 Tex Ferguson defeats Trevor Murdock Another battle of the big men. Trevor puts up a good fight, but toppling two larger men in a row is too much to ask of any man. Tex Ferguson puts on another dominant display to get him into the finals. Rating: 39 Finals Heath Slater defeats Tex Ferguson The West Virginia Heavyweight championship is on the line! Hometown boy Heath Slater vs the brutal Tex Ferguson. Ferguson comes out strong, inflicting massive damage on the already tired Slater. Slater takes some brutal series of strikes after some back and forth grappling, but fights his way out of the corner, knocking Tex off his feet. The crowd is absolutely buzzing, as Slater hits a massive Smash Hit DDT for the pinfall! Heath Slater is the inaugural West Virginia Heavyweight Champion! He thanks the crowd for all the support over his long career, claiming this city was his favorite to stop in on the WWE house show circuit. He says the West Virginia Heavyweight championship is his proudest accomplishment, and that he will defend it with all his heart. He cracks open a couple bottles of ice cold beer and celebrates with the front row fans, signing autographs. Out of nowhere, a heated Tex Ferguson jumps the barricade, smashes a couple bottles over Heath's head, and grabs the mic "I'm the true king of the independent scene in these mountains, dumb sh*t" "You ain't nothing but a big money wannabe walking round like he owns the damn place" "Well I'll tell ya this, Heath "Slater" (if that is your real name), I'm going to beat the hell out of Caleb Konley tonight, then next month at Backwoods Brawl? Your title is MINE" Tex takes the rest of the pack of beer and heads to the back, leaving Heath a bloody mess at ringside Rating: 47 Trevor Murdock defeats Chance Prophet Trevor shows his incredible toughness, taking blow after blow from veteran Chance and coming out nearly unscathed. Rating: 40 Jocephus defeats Kyle Matthews Rating: 32 Old School Express defeat Nicholas Kaye and Patrick Scott Rating: 21 Erick Rowan defeats ZZ Loupe Rowan tosses the large, but inexperienced ZZ Loupe around the ring with ease, taunting him endlessly before slamming him down for the 3 count. Rating: 29 Erick Rowan is disgusted by ZZ Loupe, his arrogance and positive attitude only enfuriate him. The beatdown continues after the match, with Rowan locking in a submission hold and refusing to break it. Just as ZZ is on the edge of unconsciousness, Trevor Murdock runs out from the back and hits Rowan with a huge clubbing blow to save ZZ As Rowan backs off, ZZ and Trevor shake hands, and a friendship is formed. Rating: 46 KTB defeated Ricky Starks after interference by Jocephus KTB came to ringside with new manager Jocephus. Jocephus, noted cult leader, seems to have KTB entirely under his spell. The match was a back and forth affair, with Ricky Starks on the verge of winning before Jocephus distracted the referee, allowing for a chair shot directly to the head of Starks. Rating: 31 After the match, KTB and Jocephus stand over the fallen Starks. A chant is performed by the two of them, before they throw him over the top rope with amazing strength and surprising ease. Did these men legitimately call upon some otherworldly power to give them strength? Rating: 39 Curtis Axel comes to the ring before his scheduled match with Kahagas. He claims he is one of the top wrestlers of our time. Not only is he a former Royal Rumble winner, but he is technically the winner of the West Virginia Heavyweight title tournament, as he only lost by count-out, which everyone knows is not a REAL loss. To prove his power, he is going to destroy the former NWA World's Heavyweight Champion, Kahagas. Rating: 34 Kahagas defeats Curtis Axel by count-out Axel once again storms off after this embarrassing "defeat" Rating: 32 Corporate Inc defeat the Von Erichs Isaacs and Braddox come to the ring in suits with briefcases full of cash. They ensure that the referee will properly hang their removed garments with care, since they're worth more than he'll make in a year. Rating: 30 Tex Ferguson defeats Caleb Konley Tex, who is visibly drunk, beats the hell out of Caleb Konley while screaming Slater's name, and singing bluegrass songs to prove he's a native boy, too. WVPW: Backwoods Brawl Held in West Virginia, Sunday, Week 2 August 2020 In front of 110 people Heath Slater is in the ring with a guitar. The one man band is tuning up, getting ready to sing a song about his opponent tonight, Tex Ferguson. Right as he starts the first line, Tex rushes the ring, hitting Heath with a flurry of punches and kicks. Out of nowhere, Rhino comes to Heath's aid, grabbing the guitar and smashing it over Tex's head. Tex rolls out of the ring, and grabs a microphone. "I ain't stepping in no ring with you until that ANIMAL is out of this building! Heath and Rhino laugh him out of the tiny local gymnasium, celebrating his beating as he walks out with the remains of the guitar still around his neck. Rating: 46 Erick Rowan defeats Kahagas Rowan puts on a dominant display over the technically sound former NWA World's Heavyweight Champion. Rating: 31 Rowan isn't finished with ZZ Loupe, his opponent from last month, however. He screams into the microphone that he wants to punish ZZ, and that Trevor isn't here to save him tonight. ZZ reluctantly appears at the entrance ramp holding a leash of some kind. "Come get me." he claims with a smile on his face. As soon as Rowan rushes towards him, it is revealed ZZ was holding the reigns to a live aligator, which is defending him! Rowan struggles with the gator, wrestling it back as ZZ makes his escape Rating: 30 Ricky Starks defeats Kyle Matthews Rating: 31 Curtis Axel defeats John Wayne Murdoch Rating: 30 Axel grabs a microphone after what should have been an easy victory turned into a hard fought 15 minute battle. "This man lying before me I have just defeated PROVES that I am the GREATEST wrestler in this company. I am undefeated, and no one can stop me!" He challenges Kahagas to a falls count anywhere match at next month's show. The Solution (KTB and Jocephus) defeat Old School Express Rating: 37 KTB and Jocephus once again start chanting their eerie ritual which seemed to give them powers... but Ricky Starks breaks it up, sneaking in from behind with a top rope dive onto the cult figures, ushering out Old School Express before further harm can come to them Rating: 38 Corporate Inc come out before their scheduled match with The Von Erichs. "Ross, Marshall. Why would we face you again? We've already proven we're the best team money can buy. Speaking of money, Zane, Dave? Come on out. We've paid the Dawsons a crisp $100 bill to beat you cowboys all the way back to Texas." The Dawsons approach the ring, holding their $100 bill proudly in the air. Rating: 40 The Von Erichs defeat the Dawson Brothers Marshall and Ross Von Erich take the $100 bill from ringside after their victory. Rating: 33 Heath Slater approaches the ring. "Well, we're in a fun situation, folks" "Tex was supposed to lose to me tonight, but he got too scared to face the One Man Band, babayyyyy" "But I think you fine people deserve to see a match from their champion, what do ya think?" The crowd cheers "I challenge ANYONE, any wrestler in the back right now, to come face me, title on the line!" The theme song from Off The Hook: Extreme Catches plays "Wow! Former Impact World Champion Eric Young!" They have an anonymous sacrifice in hand, looking to use him for their power ritual before they all see action tonight. Just as Jocephus kneels to accept the sacrifice, one of the hooded men jumps into action, it's Ricky Starks! He bashes KTB and Jocephus from behind, clearing out the ring for his match with Rowan. Rating: 41 Ricky Starks defeats Erick Rowan Rowan throws Starks out of the ring multiple times, where he is harassed by Jocephus and KTB. Starks stays strong, vigilant, and quick, knocking the big man off his feet, and eventually winning the match. Rating: 35 Corporate Inc defeat Old School Express Rating: 38 Curtis Axel defeats Kahagas in a last man standing match We're in an outdoor setting tonight, riverside. These men make use of all the space around them during this match, in incredible fashion. Axel throws Kahagas into trees, Kahagas bashes Axel's head with a rock. These men have been through battles against each other before, but nothing like this. Axel tosses Kahagas into a boat with a brutal powerslam from the shore. He pulls up the anchor, lays it on Kahagas's chest, and fires up the engine. The boat drifts away, and after 10 seconds, Axel is declared the winner. Rating: 33 The Von Erichs defeat The Dawson Brothers to retain the WVPW Tag Team Championship Rating: 35 Corporate Inc comes out after the match. They claim they've checked the markets after their win earlier tonight. The numbers don't lie, and the numbers say Corporate Inc is best for business. Next month, they get another shot at the gold. Rating: 37 Karl Anderson defats Facade Rating: 33 The Solution defeat The Bayou Boys Trevor Murdock, the mountain of a man, goes to work hard against both opponents in the opening minutes. He then tags in ZZ, who has clearly learned a thing or two from his mentor. ZZ gets some strong offense, however clearly is still technically inferior to his opponents, who get the better of him. "One more match!" ZZ claims as the Solution trail away satisfied with their win. "One more match next month! 3v3! We'll end it all!" Rating: 45 Heath Slater defeats Tex Ferguson to retain the West Virginia Heavyweight Championship A competitive match spills to the outside, where Karl Anderson and his hot asian wife, Christine, are watching. Tex goes to hit a massive lariat on Heath, which Heath counters by tripping Tex. Teg goes flying straight into Christine! Heath brings the action back inside, hits a DDT, and gets the pin. Rating: 47 Afterwards, as Slater has his hand raised, Anderson attacks from behind! Tex, getting back to his feet, joins the beating. "You hurt my wife you son of a bitch!" "My hot asian wife is ruined, disfigured!" The beating continues, and gets so brutal the security team has to come break it up. Parker arrives from backstage. "Karl! Calm down, we'll get her medical attention, and you'll get your chance for revenge on Heath next month, at Mountaineer Mania!" Karl eyes the championship, gives Heath one last kick, and walks away. Yes, WVPW finally has a midcard belt to fight for. The following matches are a part of this tournament: Match 1: Erick Rowan vs Austin Gunn Match 2: Jocephus vs Trevor Murdock Match 3: Royce Isaacs vs Kahagas Match 4: Ricky Starks vs Facade The winner of match 1 faces the winner of match 4 in the semifinals, and the winner of match 2 faces the winner of match 3. Erick Rowan defeats Austin Gunn to advance to the Blueridge Championship semifinals Tonight's show starts out hot with the first match of the Blueridge Championship tournament. Rowan walks to the ring with a small cage, covered in cloth. Whatever could be in there? During the match, Austin Gunn is thrown to the outside. As he is recovering, he lifts up the cloth to take a peek at the creature. He is terrified, and runs away, right back into the ring where Rowan is waiting with a big boot for the win. Rating: 32 Rowan packs up his cage, looks in it with delight, then walks away satisfied with his win. Rating: 39 Ricky Starks defeats Facade to advance to the Blueridge Championship semifinals This high energy affair was brought down when a botched move by Facade fractured Starks's arm. Starks, fighting through the pain, comes away with the win Rating: 26 Chance Prophet and KTB defeat Old School Express, The Batiri, and Dawson Brothers to become #1 contenders for the West Virginia Tag Team Championships KTB, fresh out of his cult membership, is a raging bull. His tag team partner/handler of choice, Chance Prophet, is a veteran, capable of keeping his cool and holding back KTB's energy for when the time is right. The newly formed duo of the man-beast and his goth handler take advantage of the no-DQ format to bash Old School Express's Marion Fontaine through a table to earn the pinfall. Rating: 32 The Von Erichs come out to size up their challengers. Chance Prophet can hardly hold KTB back, as he paces back and forth, fuming at the chance at tag team gold Rating: 35 Royce Isaacs defeats Kahagas to advance to the Blueridge Championship semifinals Kahagas, a respectable competitor, and decorated veteran, has his opportunity at WVPW gold squashed, when Mad Braddox distracts the referee so that Isaacs can bash him over the head with a "gold" bar, securing the victory. Our WVPW sources say this bar is merely a block of wood painted gold. More info as it comes. Rating: 31 Trevor Murdock defeats Jocephus to advance to the Blueridge Championship semifinals In an absolute slugfest, Trevor Murdock comes out on top over the former cult leader. As Trevor celebrates with ZZ Loupe, Jocephus remains in the ring, seeming hopeless. His cult is gone, he has lost his championship opportunity, and he feels powerless. Change is seemingly on the way in the life of Jocephus. Rating: 46 Karl Anderson and Tex Ferguson defeat Heath Slater and Curtis Axel Axel and Slater put on an equal fight against Anderson and Ferguson, up until the moment Axel showed his true colors. Slater was being double teamed by Karl and Tex, crawling Axel's way for the hot tag after hitting a desperation dropkick. Axel, holding his arm out, reaching desperately for the tag, withdrew his hand at the last second, and left the ring apron. Heath was left hanging, brutalized in the ring, as Karl hits a spinebuster for the win. Rating: 41 After the match, Karl and Tex have their time to gloat, celebrate, and drink, with Karl's disfigured asian wife. Just as Heath climbs his way back to his feet using the ring ropes, Axel approaches him, microphone in hand. "Heath - you and a lot of people may think we're the same" "Underappreciated, underrated, misused by the powers that be" "But there's a truth that I found within myself that everyone in this building, in this world, including you, have overlooked" "I'm PERFECT, I'm the best damn wrestler in this company, best in this BUSINESS, I never lost the Royal Rumble! I never lost the West Virginia Championship Tournament!, hell, I never even lost this match. I earned my shot, I will have my respect, and I will have your title!" "I will no longer be ignored. I'm the most overlooked wrestler in this business, and I will win this god damn title tonight, just to shove it in the face of all you hicks!" "I'm Joe f**king Hennig, and I'm going to outperform, out grapple, out maneuver, and outsmart Heath Slater tonight, and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it!" From this moment forth, Curtis Axel is known as Joe Hennig in all official WVPW literature Rating: 50 Karl & Tex defeat Old School Express Before the match, Christine Bui, Karl's hot asian wife, announces the following. "I've had an official meeting with the greatest tag team in the world, Anderson and Ferguson. We've come to realize.... why chase singles titles? Tag team glory is where it's at. Von Erichs, be on alert, we're coming for you." She drops the microphone from her still disfigured position in the wheelchair and is wheeled out of the ring, before an absolute demolition of Old School Express by Karl & Tex Rating: 36 Royce Isaacs defeats Trevor Murdock to advance to the Blueridge Championship final Trevor has the upper hand for a majority of the match, throwing his weight around and firing a number of powerful blows. Mid-match, Mad Braddox, Royce's partner in Corporate Inc, comes out with his briefcase. He distracts the referee and Trevor by offering him a bribe to call the match for Royce. Royce takes this opportunity to roll up Trevor for the pin. Trevor is clearly furious. Rating: 49 Chad Gable defeats Mark Angelosetti Gable shows off his technical prowess in an impressive debut win over Angelosetti Rating: 41 Ricky Starks defeats Erick Rowan by count out to advance to the Blueridge Championship Final Erick comes down to the ring once again with cage in hand. The match is very back and forth, until Starks is thrown to the outside, and a sly look comes across his face as an idea pops into his head. He crawls his way towards Rowan's caged creature, then grabs it, sprinting towards the entrance ramp. He throws the caged beast into the conveniently located garbage can, prompting Rowan to rush to it's aid. Starks makes his way back to the ring, avoiding the rage of Rowan, as Rowan, concerned with his creature, loses by count-out. Rating: 30 The Von Erichs defeat Chance Prophet and KTB to retain the West Virginia Tag Team Championships In similar fashion to their #1 contenders match, KTB demolishes the Von Erichs, and Chance acts as the veteran presence to get him out of tough spots. KTB's rampage only gets them so far, however, as the Von Erichs persevere, knocking the big man off his feet, and hitting a double-team move for the win Rating: 36 KTB, as he gets back to his feet, defeated, is outraged. His eyes are on the gold, and he rushes towards the titles, seemingly hoping to steal them by force, even though he lost the match. He attacks the referee and Von Erichs from behind as their hands and titles are raised in victory, and holds the titles up himself. When KTB stands tall, and all others in the ring, including Chance Prophet, lay on the ground, hurt and in fear, Karl, Tex, and Christine approach from the entrance ramp. The trio stands (and sits) before KTB after Christine's wheelchair is lifted into the ring, exchanging looks before KTB spits on the now-ugly face of Christine, prompting a beatdown from Karl & Tex The duo poses with the titles for themselves, before throwing them into the faces of the still-down Von Erichs Rating: 36 Ricky Starks defeats Royce Isaacs to win the Blueridge Championship An incredible back and forth affair between these men, a beautiful mix of striking, technical skills, and high-paced action, was nearly ruined when once again, Mad Braddox shows up, briefcase in hand. Before he could interfere in any way, Trevor Murdock and ZZ Loupe run at him, on opposite sides from each other, squishing him between their massive bodies upon impact, knocking him out cold. Ricky Starks takes advantage of the madness taking place outside of the ring, hitting a fisherman's suplex on the shocked Isaacs for the win. Rating: 37 Heath Slater defeats Joe Hennig to retain the West Virginia Heavyweight Championship Joe Hennig came into this match incredibly prepared. Every maneuver his former friend Slater has, he had a suplex or lock to counter. Hennig seemed to be an entirely different person in the ring than he was on the microphone earlier tonight. Cold, calculated, and brutal in execution. Every move executed precisely, without fault. Slater had to dig deep into his arsenal to find moves to hit Hennig with. In the end, Heath had to take Joe to the top tope and hit a massive DDT to put him away. If this match has proven one thing, this new side of Joe Hennig is not one to be messed with. Rating: 47 Heath, exhausted, celebrates his victory and the retention of his title. He made a mistake, however, when he took his eyes off of Joe. Joe instantly runs up behind Heath, hitting him with the Perfect-Plex, and going seemingly insane in the process. He couldn't grasp the fact that he'd lost a match, that was entirely impossible. His entire body writhing with shame, anger, and confusion, Joe crawls under the ring, grabbing a ladder. He tosses it into the ring, still visibly shaken from his loss. He takes the ladder into his hands, and bashes Heath with it multiple times, busting him open almost instantly. Heath tries to crawl away as Joe puts down the ladder, but Joe grabs him by his beautiful hair, picks him up, and tosses him down onto the cold steel rungs. Security and medical staff rush the ring, tending to the champion and keeping the deranged challenger at bay. The tournament features a number of the best technical wrestlers alive today, with the winner receiving a shot at the West Virginia Heavyweight Championship. 1st Annual West Virginia Catch Tournament Invitational: Match 1: Jonathan Gresham vs Chad Gable Match 2: Mad Braddox vs Alex Shelley Match 3: Doug Williams vs Tracy Williams Match 4: Joe Hennig vs Chris Hero Winner of match 1 faces winner of match 2. Winner of match 3 faces 4. Chris Hero defeats Joe Hennig In the first match of the Catch tournament, Joe Hennig is disqualified, after using a closed-fist strike about 10 minutes in, due to frustration with Hero's technical outclassing of him. Joe grabs the microphone post-match, and screams about how these rules were unfair, how they aren't the real rules, and he did NOT lose this match. Rating: 45 Chad Gable defeats Jonathan Gresham Rating: 56 Doug Williams defeats Tracy Williams In a battle of the Williams, experience outweighs youth and passion Rating: 37 Alex Shelley defeats Mad Braddox Braddox, who without a doubt purchased his way into this tournament, is entirely outclassed by Shelley Rating: 40 Chris Hero defeats Doug Williams to advance to the final Rating: 37| Chad Gable defeats Alex Shelley to advance to the final Gable, dressed in his olympic attire, draws parallels to the great olympic wrestlers of our past, such as Kurt Angle, John Smith, and Bruce Baumgartner Rating: 53 The Von Erichs defeat Karl & Tex to retain the West Virginia Tag Team Championships After an extremely hard fought match, the Von Erichs take the microphone. "I thought this was the "Greatest Tag Team in the World"?" "Surely we can do better, people." "We challenge ANY tag team out there today, from anywhere in this world, to come take these belts off of us." Rating: 37 Chad Gable defeats Chris Hero to win the WVPW Catch Wrestling Invitational Gable comes to the ring, American flag in hand, seemingly trying to relive the glory he never achieved, bowing out of the olympics before having a taste of gold He puts on an absolute clinic with Hero, both men with something to prove. Gable comes out on top, locking his opponent with a maneuver to technically skillful that it had never seen before, pinning his shoulders to the mat for the victory Rating: 45 As Austin Aries, Heath's opponent, enters the arena, KTB rushes in from behind, destroying him. As ever, KTB's eyes are squarely on the gold, and he will do anything to achieve it. Medical personnel check on Aries, who had been hit into the cold concrete floor, and metal barricades multiple times. He had been declared unfit to compete. Slater is fuming, incredibly angry that this beast messed up his match for the night. He motions for KTB to come fight him himself, and the match begins. Heath Slater defeats KTB to retain the West Virginia Heavyweight Championship Slater outsmarts KTB, using his blind rage against him. Many times he dodges a tackle, sending KTB barreling into the turnbuckles. The final straw comes when KTB, in a rage, grabs a table, sets it up in the ring corner, only to be sent through it himself. The referee is lenient, and allows the foreign object, in the interests of having a true winner in this title match. He claims he has it all. The looks, the charisma, the pure, raw ability, to be a star in this business. "When Ricky Starks enters this ring, everybody takes notice. The ladies swoon, the guys get jealous, and the boys in the back? They get scared." One man who is certainly not scared of anything, KTB, comes out from the back. He's as mad as ever, with his eyes on the gold. This man has a strange obsession with the color, or something. Ricky Starks, backs down, rolling out of the ring to avoid KTB's rage, and the match is set. Rating: 34 Ricky Starks defeats KTB to retain the Blueridge Championship Ricky uses the tactics of a typical scared heel to avoid the rampage, and strike when the time is right, to retain his title in the first defence. Rating: 35 Karl Anderson defeats Austin Gunn Karl Anderson and Tex Ferguson bully the rookie Gunn during and after the matchup. Gunn is visibly angry. Rating: 34 Joe Hennig defeats Erick Rowan Rowan once again comes to the ring with his cage in hand. Joe Hennig, the absolute maniac he is, runs out to meet Rowan, not having any time for this foolish cage nonsense. He knocks Rowan off his feet, grabs the cage, and removes the cover. It's a.... RACCOON??? "What the hell, Erick Rowan?" The crowd lets out a collective sigh, realizing the ridiculousness of it all. Hennig sets the Raccoon free. It instantly runs to the nearest trash can to feast. Rowan gets up, angry as he's ever been. His anger gets the best of him during the match, as the clinical Hennig wipes the floor with him. After the match, Rowan takes the trash can holding his beloved raccoon to the back with him. Rating: 35 Corporate Inc come to the front row from the entrance to the local gymnasium, claiming although they weren't in action tonight, they bought front row tickets to see the beatdown the Bayou Boys were about to take. The front row tickets were very expensive, they claim. The man sitting next to them reminds them the show has free tickets. Rating: 42 The Bayou Boys defeat The Dawson Brothers ZZ Loupe is singled out for most of the match, getting stuck in the Dawson's corner a number of times. When Trevor comes in with the hot tag, the Dawsons are powerless to stop the fresh big man. Rating: 42 The Von Erichs defeat The Butcher & The Blade to retain the West Virginia Tag Team Championships The Von Erichs take the ring, once again spouting their challenge. They want anyone who considers themselves the "best tag team in the world" to come prove it by taking their titles. The Butcher and The Blade arrive, wasting no time getting to the ring and getting in the Von Erich's faces. In a hard fought match, the Von Erichs come out on top. The Butcher and The Blade are mad at each other, each one blaming the other for the loss. Rating: 35 Heath Slater draws with Chad Gable via double DQ to retain the West Virginia Heavyweight Championship Heath Slater shows off his rarely seen technical skills to go toe to toe with Chad Gable. Gable, with his Olympic background, gets the best of Slater in most exchanges. The only thing Slater holds over Gable is the passion of a hometown champion, the will to never give in. 20 long minutes are fought between the pair, before Joe Hennig comes out of the entrance tunnel. "I've seen enough of this! Neither of you deserve this title!" Hennig rushes in as both men are on the ground following a superplex by Slater. Hennig picks up Gable, throwing him onto Slater, causing a double DQ. Rating: 53 He proceeds to perform a number of suplexes on each man. Throwing them into the corners, onto the cold concrete floor, and into the metal barricades. When he decides Gable and Slater are in enough pain and misery, he grabs the title. Gunn rushes out, knocks Ferguson to the floor, and as the referee is distracted, hits a superkick right to Anderson's face, securing the win for Starks.</p><p> Starks looks at Gunn with mixed emotion, he helped him win, but Starks is perfect in his own mind, and doesn't need the help from anyone. Rowan is bleeding profusely now, and rolls out of the ring to collect himself. He instantly has an idea. He grabs his raccoon, and throws it onto Abdullah.</p><p> The raccoon destroys the hardcore legend, leaving him lying. Hennig and Gable, both down as Slater climbs the ladder, share a look and know what must be done. Hennig grabs Slater off the ladder, powerbombs him into another ladder, and Gable applies a sleeper, until Slater is unconscious.</p><p> With Slater out of the match, both men grab ladders, set them up, and begin climbing. Gable, quick on his feet, reaches the top first. There's only one problem. Austin Gunn is isolated in the ring for a good 5 minutes, taking move after move from his opponents. He crawls, ever so slowly to Ricky Starks, who's hand is stretched as far as it will go. Gunn does not crawl fast enough, however.
