PRIDE 38 & CRITICAL COUNTDOWN LINEUP REVEALED

<img src=https://i.imgur.com/qsF5VNr.png>

At a press conference held this afternoon in Tokyo, PRIDE announced the fights for its next two cards, which will take place in October.

The first card released was from the 10th anniversary edition of PRIDE. The event will have the rematch between Kazushi Sakuraba and Vitor Belfort. They faced off at PRIDE 5 in 1999, and Sakuraba won by unanimous decision.

Sakuraba, who had his last defeat in June 2005, when he was overcome by Ricardo Arona, since then, he has come from four victories and a no-contest. Belfort won his last two fights and on his return to PRIDE knocked out Matt Lindland impressively in just 0:26 seconds.

The other event will be the Critical Countdown, the sequence of the PRIDE GPs, and will have Fedor Emelianenko facing Hidehiko Yoshida.

Fedor returns to the PRIDE ring, sporting his invincibility at the event. In his last fight at PRIDE he defeated Mark Hunt in his last title defense and in April this year he overcame Matt Lindland by the now defunct BodogFights. Yoshida returned to winning ways by overcoming Bob Sapp with a submission in the second round in the first phase of the GP and will now have his biggest test of his career against 'The Last Emperor'.

PRIDE 38 will take place at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan and PRIDE: Critical Countdown 2007 will take place at Saitama Super Arena. All cards will broadcast by ESPN Africa, Eurosport Russia, SkySports 2, NHK, Polsat Sport, Fox Sports Asia, CBS Sports Network, ESPN Latin America and Fox Sports Australia. The card will also cover Blurcat.com's play by play with "The Voice" Matt Edwards and Daniel Tuxford.

End of September and we have a new best pound for pound. Dan Henderson slaughtered Anderson Silva at UFC 72 and took over. Henderson, 37, arrived at the UFC after winning the Welterweight and Middleweight titles by PRIDE and on his return to the UFC he won the immediate chance for the title and did not waste the chance. After applying a knockdown in the first round that broke his nose, and Silva's aurea, Henderson ended the fight in the second round with another straight that led Silva to a knockout.

For this performance Henderson was elected the best fighter by the experts at Blurcat.com

PRIDE 38 WEIGH-IN RESULTS: SAKURABA AND BELFORT IS OFFICIAL FOR REMATCH

<img src=https://www1-cdn.sherdog.com/_images/pictures/20100528125006_100528_1351152.JPG>

by Sean Smith

The PRIDE FC returns on Thursday with a 10th anniversary card headlined by Kazushi Sakuraba and Vitor Belfort. It is a rematch of a fight that already took place at PRIDE 5 in 1999, where Sakuraba won by unanimous decision. The fight will be in the middleweight division.

In his last bout, Sakuraba (22-9-1-2 NC) he beat Royce Gracie again, this time on the unanimous decision of the judges. He hasn't lost since June 2005.. Sakuraba looked good on the scales and officially came in at 186 pounds, the lower limit of the division..

Many thought that Belfort (16-8) would never be a top contender in the world again after his loss to Dan Henderson and the doping test, which took him out of the sport for almost 6 months.. However, the 30-year-old fighter has rebounded with two straight wins including a twente-six seconds knockout of Matt Lindland. Belfort will look to keep his story of another back to the top opportunity alive on Thursday, and weighed 205 pounds.

The show will take place at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. It will broadcast by ESPN Africa, Eurosport Russia, SkySports 2, NHK, Polsat Sport, Fox Sports Asia, CBS Sports Network, ESPN Latin America and Fox Sports Australia. The card will also cover Blurcat.com's play by play with "The Voice" Matt Edwards and Daniel Tuxford.

Wow, it was close, you almost arrived on time !!

I think that only, Cagarage, has reached all the cards in other of my dynasties

But I have no doubt that you got it right ... congratulations !!

Great card! Mark Hunt with those big shots from outta nowhere, And it appears many fighters went to Sagat's School of Muay thai in preparation for the event!

The final 4 of both tournaments are insane! The lightweight GP, especially. I legit don't know who will win!

Hunt is a hitting machine, but confess that i thought Barnett would win.

Man the GP Lightweight is almost a PRIDE vs. HERO´S duel, I also find it difficult to predict who will be the champion ...

In the Heavyweights I still see Fedor as a favorite.

The month of October ended, and this month we had the return of former champions Fedor Emelianenko and Takanori Gomi to PRIDE, as a major highlight.

Other belt contests have taken place around the world, but there have been no drastic changes in the ranking. Only Fedor Emelianenko with his victory at PRIDE GP took the top among the Super Heavyweights.

The best fighter in the updated still remained UFC Middleweight champion Dan Henderson.

Fedor's victory over Yoshida and Barnett's defeat to Hunt made the Russian take the lead among the Super Heavyweights. As in PRIDE, Heavyweights have no weight limit only fighters from the Japanese organization are in the ranking.
