Using a save as a new database

If you use a save to create a new database, how does it work when starting a new game with the new database? Specifically, is it simply a continuation of the old save, but without the match history, etc. Or, do the destiny rolls, pop caps, decline ages, etc. get completely re-rolled at the start of the save?

 

EDIT: Actually, nevermind. I found it in the handbook. Starting a new save re-rolls everything: destiny, pop caps, chemistry, decline, etc.

I did this. You don't keep the match history in the new save.
