Elite Wrestling Federation - (Damaged-Cornellverse)

With all the new pictures from the Cornellverse, my love for the Damaged-Cornellverse, and having time between my other diary, I thought I'd do this, just as a bit of fun. I won't be going into great detail in show reports, but I suppose that could change depending on how into this I get.
The office was a bit dim, the lights seemed to be set very low, or were faulty or something. All I knew was, this didn’t look like the kind of office I wanted to be in. After all, I was just a humble member of the CZCW Booking Team, this looked like the kind of place the mafia would meet. That’s when I started worrying, when that thought crossed my mind. Then footsteps could be heard walking towards the room. I couldn’t stop thinking that this is what you get when you go meet someone that sends an anonymous letter. The door slowly creaked open and in walked……………………… A very attractive woman! Okay, maybe this wasn’t going to be too bad. I looked her over, she was wearing a women’s business jacket and skirt, and a weird looking mafia type hat. She even had a cigar in her mouth. Not your average woman, that’s for sure. She walked past me, without even saying a word as I just watched her sit behind what I presumed was her desk. She opened a draw and took out what looked like a contract. She threw it to my side of the desk facing me. I took a look, and it read “Contract for Head Booker of EWF!”. Woman: So, am I going to have to convince you, or are you in? I was going to need some convincing. The Wrestling business was a risky one. Companies folded all the time, new up start companies often struggled to survive, and you had to be in the right circles. And if you did have any success, one of the top five would come and take your talent. SWF, TCW and DAVE would stop you if you had any success in the United States. NOTBPW & CGC in Canada! In fact, most of the world you would have competition looking to squash you if you got to big. And sometimes, they would kill your baby before it was even born. CZCW wasn’t a big company, but it had survived and it was safe money at the moment. JonnyV1: You do realize the Wrestling Industry is Cut Throat don’t you. Woman: Of course I do, that’s why I love it, and why I want to get involved. JonnyV1: So your promotion would be EWF? Woman: Elite Wrestling Federation, yes. JonnyV1: And you would be? Woman: Oh, sorry. You’re from South West aren’t you? I’m Alison Capone. My eyes widened and I’m sure if it was physically possible, my jaw would have hit the flaw. Alison Capone, daughter of Vito Capone, supposed Don of the Capone Mafia Crime Family, all though he claimed to no longer have any criminal dealings. But he was still known in the Tri State area, and around America, from his past actions. At least it explained where the money was coming from, and it would give us good publicity. This wouldn’t be just any upstart promotion. JonnyV1: Okay, so what area you planning on running in? Alison: My area naturally, Tri State! JonnyV1: You are aware that most promotions in that area get eaten up by DAVE aren’t you. Alison: We won’t, and NYCW is doing okay for itself. I’m sure you can handle it, especially with the booking team I’ve got you. In fact, I’ve already pretty much hired you everyone but the wrestlers. Take a look and you might like what you see. I reached for the contract, and as she said, underneath was a roster of Non-Wrestlers for EWF. As my eyes went over the list, I was surprised to say the least. Booking Team Michael Horez Snr, Karen Killer, Jeff Cantrell, Red Davis, Sadakuno Nishimuraya Road Agents Michael Horez Snr, Curt O'Malley, Duncan Kendall, Jeff Cantrell, Sadakuno Nishimuraya Referee's Jay Fair, Lois Hudson Announcers Neil Down Color Commentary Max Steiner, Sue Danes Authority Figure Ryan Richards, Alison Capone Managers Emma Chase, Melanie Florence, Farrah Hesketh, Elle JonnyV1: That’s an impressive list. But how did you get Karen Killer, Sadakuno Nishimuraya and Emma Chase? Alison: Money Talks JonnyV1, Money Talks! I’m sure the contract I’m offering will talk to you too, on top of everything else you know. And you’ll also have development territories in Mid West too. And all you got to do, to keep your job is make sure we grow in the Tri State area, and we don’t lose money. Not too difficult is it? We would see!
Thought I'd just give you an insight into who is being signed, an not a whole roster.
The Next week went by quickly. Alison Capone set me up in an apartment in New York, a very nice apartment I must say. Apparently it came with my contract; at least it did as long as I did well. All though nowhere in my contract could I find anything that mentioned an apartment? But as long as I didn’t do too badly, looks like I got this place free, which was a nice deal. It was hard moving from the CZCW guys, I enjoyed my time there. But we all have to move on sometimes. The next day I was thrown into the first ever EWF Booking Meeting. Alison Capone had decided to add herself as a member as well, so was also present. And I was in charge. In charge of Michael Horez Snr, Jeff Cantrell, Red Davis and Sadakuno Nishimuraya! All people who probably had more knowledge on the wrestling business than I could ever get. And Karen Killer, she had worked with Rip Chord. I felt a bit out of my depth being in charge of this Booking Team. I was a small fish in CZCW. Now I was head here. I’d have to ask Alison why she thought I could do this. The meeting was all about what workers would she hire. This was of course after Alison took over at the beginning to inform us about the development territories in Mid West area. One was Elite Championship Academy: Mid West and one Women of Wrestling. How she got them I don’t know, but if I had them, that meant I’d be signing more workers I guess. Alison also laid out the type of promotion she wanted, cutting edge, gritty, not too mainstream but not to the extent where the mainstream wouldn’t accept us. Sadakuno was the first with a suggestion, saying in sight of the goals of the promotion for the first year of existence, they should focus on signing people who were over in the Tri State area. He suggested Heaven’s Rebel of NWA:USA. Everybody agreed on that one, as Heaven’s Rebel was a fine technical wrestler with Charisma, who’s only weakness could be his psychology. I brought up the name Eric Baine, another NWA:USA guy, and I soon realized we’d probably have to make sure our schedules don’t clash, and made a mental note. Then Alison silenced the room with the suggestion of Scout. We all just kind of looked at her. It was Jeff Cantrell who spoke first, saying Scout was on a written contract. We’d have to wait, and that’s presuming DAVE would let him go when his current contract ended. Alison just smiled, and said leave that to me. We all seemed to agree that NWA:USA had some workers we could use, and Alison said she’d sort out a working agreement with them, after another one of their wrestlers, Brock Steele was mentioned as a possibility. Karen Killer then spoke up and mentioned that Rip Chord while she was down at MAW had been looking at some stars that SWF had dropped. Marc DuBois, Akima Brave, Kid Toma, Randy Bumfhole and Zimmy Bumfhole. Marc DuBois had been thought of for CZCW and so had the Bumfholes, but I guess I forgot or was not going to try and steal workers from my past employer. Obviously Karen didn’t have as much of a problem, and Alison loved the idea of those five, as well as the rest of the team. Karen also suggested a women’s division, a bit like NOTBPW were doing. She brought up Catherine Quine as a name, but I personally wasn’t sure we could keep her, especially if SWF or TCW came knocking, like they did sometimes for the best female wrestlers, all though never utilized them. Red Davis brought up the fact that we were forgetting one major person. The future of New York, Joey Minnesota! Everyone jumped on that bandwagon really quickly. The rest of the roster kind of built from there, as well as many development talents being mentioned. Karen brought up a lot of MAW guys, and I wondered if she had something against Rip Chord. The next day was all about signings, and surprisingly, almost everyone would had thought of for the main roster, signed. Even Scout, which surprised all of the booking team apart from Alison! It wasn’t like Scout seemed to happy about signing either. I thought it best not to ask any questions, and just be happy that we got him. However, CGC and SWF made offers after we signed Marc Dubois, for him. And Catherine Quine was wanted by CGC too. I started looking for new guys to replace them almost straight after signing them. Shame, but it’s what I expected to happen. But then I did some research on the offers, and after phone calls to both of their offices, I was told they were PPA Contract offers. CGC that was understandable, they didn’t sign all of their workers to written, they weren’t big enough yet. But the biggest company in the world, offering PPA’s. That wasn’t there style. As the week went on, we also built up a development territory worthy of being a straight up promotion itself. I didn’t deal with all the contracts, but when we were all said and done, and I looked at our roster, I couldn’t believe it. It was probably the best roster comprised in one weeks time, ever. Now I just had to book a show worthy of all the star names I had.
Rating: C+ (Good showing by the girls in an entertaining opening match.) Segment 2: Ryan Richards, the General Manager of EWF walks out to the ring, strutting all the way like he’s the most important man in the world. He gets into the ring and starts telling everyone about his great business deals, his great shows and his great everything. He then tells us, he’s going to show us how great he is, by booking a great match. The Amazing Bumfholes vs. The Samoan WildBoyz, tonight for the EWF Tag Team Titles. Rating: C- (Crowd really aren’t into this guy at the moment, because they don’t know who he is. I think he has all the right tools to be a good GM, but he needs to get over first.) Segment 3: Joey Minnesota comes out to the ring and issues a Open Challenge to anyone, because he’s confident enough in his skills to face anyone that will come out to face him. Rating: C (Not bad, was expecting worse to be honest, but this is his area, just get him a good mouth piece to learn from and cover for him till then. The crowd however aren’t patient people, and another bad segment in their eyes following Ryan Richards.) vs. Segment 4: Joey Minnesota defeats Dark Angel at 10:34 with an Empire Spiral. Rating: C+ (Good match again, would be better if Dark Angel was more over in Tri State. Didn’t help that the crowd were still in a bad mood after the last two segments! But this should have cheered them up a bit. Dark Angel also seemed off his game compared to the tapes of him I’ve seen. So this could have been better, but was good enough.) Segment 5: Emma Chase is backstage, seemingly waiting for someone. Just then from the arena, walks Joey Minnesota. Emma Chase stops him and asks him how driven he is, to get to the top of EWF. Joey naturally answers that he is completely driven. Emma tells him that she’s been brought here to manage up and coming talent, and at the moment she doesn’t have any clients. She needs people to be her clients to do her job, and then tells Joey to think about being her client before walking away. Rating: B- (Emma Chase carried the whole segment, Joey hardly contributing. If the crowd were restless this might have gone over even better.) Segment 6: Dark Angel is seen in the back pissed off after his defeat. One guy doesn’t get out of his way quick enough while he’s walking in the back, and gets thrown through a table full of food for it. Rating: F (This segment really sucked, probably because I used one of my enhancement talents as the backstage staff, and he tried to play up his role a bit, and the fact that Cliff on his own isn’t a draw yet.) & Segment 7: A Video plays on the quiet nice video screen that Alison got the company for the Arena. It hypes up the two tag teams, Bumfholes and Wildboyz who are to fight next. Rating: C- (Put this down to following a very bad segment, as the teams are quiet over in all of the United States.) vs. Segment 8: The Amazing Bumfholes beat The Samoan WildBoyz at 14:32 with Zimmy hitting the Bumfhole in One. Rating: B- (Despite Akima Brave being off his game, the four did really well, especially seeing how restless the crowd was. Probably not the type of crowd they’d want to fight in front of, but they managed to get a good match none the less.) Segment 9: A Video plays, hyping up Brock’s journey through life, his time in prison and his struggle out of that way of life to getting to the here and now. He says he epitomises what a champion is, someone who overcame all of life’s obstacles to get to the top. Rating: B+ (My Second most over guy in the Tri State area probably gets me a good rating, but it looks like the crowd are going to be restless for the rest of the night.) vs. Segment 10: Scout defeats Eric Baine at 17:51 with a Danger Ahead. Rating: B+ (Impressive performance, but I expected no less from Scout, who’s always been a technical genius in the ring. He also came out with a slightly new gimmick, a black hat and black paint instead of the usual green.) Segment 11: Pablo Rodriguez is backstage and cuts a promo on the British JD Morgan. He says when Lucha Libre meets the technical warrior from the UK, there’s only one result, Pablo with his hand raised in victory. Rating: B (Nice promo from Pablo, was pleasantly surprised.) vs. Segment 12: Pablo Rodriguez defeats JD Morgan at 18:24 with a Final Judgement. Rating: B (I expected this to meet the impressive match of Scout and Baine but it didn’t. Still a good match and still the crowd are restless. They really didn’t like the start of the show.) Segment 13: This time a Video of Heaven’s Rebel shows, showing his training and rise through the independents! Heaven’s Rebel says that’s how a champion is made, through pedigree, not prison. Rating: B+ (My most over guy delivers with his part in this video package.) vs. Segment 14: Heaven’s Rebel defeats Brock Steel at 18:45 with an Angels Wings. Rating: B+ (Great match to end the show, these two really delivered a classic match, I just wonder if the rating would have been better, had the crowd not been restless.) Alison Capone's Thoughts on the First Show
Only one day after EWF’s first ever show, and Alison Capone called a booking meeting to discuss the first show and how it went. Turns out she was okay with the show, but she expected better. She told us all that she was upset that guys like Joey Minnesota and Dark Angel were given time on camera outside of matches, while Eric Baine got none. She was also upset that the crowd got restless, and we had lost a large majority of them by half way through. She was pleased with the second half of the show, but asks, if they ever got a TV deal, would people stay tuned after the first half display. I could have brought up my arguments of trying to build up Minnesota and Dark Angel’s Popularity but she didn’t seem in the mood to hear it. However, she was very pleased with the quality of all the matches, saying none of the matches failed to deliver. This was a good sign, as the majority of our show was wrestling. But I guess that means she must have felt the segments outside the ring hurt us really badly. Alison was also very high on Emma Chase, and demanded that Emma see more TV time. Well done Emma, your job is seemingly 100% secure. All though that left us with the problem of Joey Minnesota! Fortunately she didn’t bring up the fact that she was an on screen character. I wasn’t confident on how good an Authority figure she’d be. So if we kept quiet, maybe we wouldn’t need to find out.
Nice touch with the meeting - I like it. I do think you should give Emma some good TV time - her entertainment skills are second to none! Oh, and I very much like the alteration to the Scout gimmick. Keep it up dude. Quote The Raven Nevermore

He then goes on to do something useful and book a match. Tonight someone wanted to prove that they were one of the favourites in the title tournament, and therefore challenged the only man so far to advance, Heaven’s Rebel to a match. So he was booking tonight, Eric Baine vs. Heaven’s Rebel. Rating: C (I’m sticking by Ryan, once he gets over the fans will react. Just means my show is going to get hurt by his appearances early on in the show. Hopefully it was the crowd reaction to him that made his performance bad and it’s not my blind trust in someone that can’t do the job.) Segment 2: Heaven’s Rebel’s music plays as he comes out to interrupt Ryan Richards, much to mine and the crowds joy. Heaven’s Rebel says your all looking at the favourite, and if Eric Baine wants to hurt his chances in the tournament by fighting him, then so be it. But he was the face of EWF and he was going to be the first EWF World Heavyweight Champion. Rating: B (The crowd were restless, already after Ryan Richards. I still have yet to see what reaction Heaven’s Rebel would get with a hyped up crowd.) vs. Segment 3: Catherine Quine defeats Wanda Fish at 7:56 with a Cat’s Cradle. Rating: C (Must say, I’m happy that the girls can put on matches like this. And they can thank Heaven’s Rebel for the crowd not being restless.) Segment 4: Backstage we see Joey Minnesota outside Emma Chase’s locker room. He knocks and the door opens, as Emma Chase stands there in just a towel. Joey Minnesota gulps slightly as he manages to fumble out the words that he accepts Emma Chase’s offer from last week. Emma smiles, and says she knew he would, and had got him a match for the Tag Team Titles, if he didn’t mind teaming with Kid Toma, seeing as Akima Brave was in the EWF World Heavyweight Title Tourney. She asked him to give her a minute and she’d get ready. Rating: B- (As usual, Emma Chase carried Joey through the segment and came across looking good.) Rating: B- (Decent tag team match, which matched last weeks. For some reason the crowd got restless again though. Maybe someone brought up Ryan Richards in the crowd.) Segment 6: A video plays of Randy Bumfhole beating a Grandmaster Chess Champion easily. Then afterwards he turns and goes, “Now Aren’t I Amazing!” Rating: C- (I should only let my main eventers do anything backstage.) Segment 7: Karen Killer is shown on the screen in the arena backstage. She tells all of EWF that Emma Chase isn’t the only one looking for cliental. Rating: C- (Okay, she is going to have to be put with someone with overness and charisma, because she didn’t really deliver like I hoped.) Segment 8: Pablo Rodriguez is next up on the screen, saying that JD Morgan challenged him to a rematch, to try and get back some of his British Pride or something. Pablo accepted the challenge, saying it would be a repeat of last week. Rating: B (That’s better, but to late to stop the crowd from being restless.) Rating: B+ (Better than their match last week, it just happened this time. This lifted the crowd a bit, and by the end of it they were definitely into the ending.) Segment 10: As Pablo celebrated his victory, a pissed of Morgan recovered and attacked him from behind. Before JD could do too much damage, a young wrestler ran down and ran JD off, as the young wrestler helped Pablo to his feet and too the back. Rating: C- (For those wondering, this is the same guy who got attacked by Dark Angel last week. And the youngster looked lost out there, but Pablo made up for it, coming across like a star.)
