This diary continues on from the following, please read and rate. WCW One Night Stand http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14557 MARCH 2007 A new beginning..... When looking at Wikipedia you may come across this……. Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW) was an independent professional wrestling promotion owned by Rob Zicari, who along side his wife, Janet Romano, appeared on shows as the owner of the company under the name of Rob Black. The promotion focused on hardcore wrestling and had connections to the Los Angeles porn industry. XPW was founded in the summer of 1999. XPW attempted to carve a local niche on the West Coast, particularly Los Angeles, California. XPW's roots can actually be traced back to Verne Langdon's Slammers Wrestling Federation, which ran shows in Southern California from 1990-1996 and trained many of XPW's future wrestlers. Many consider the existence of XPW to consist of two different versions: the original West Coast edition and the All-New XPW East Coast Invasion. The original West Coast edition was mainly based in California where controversy and X-rated content were of huge importance. The East Coast Invasion featured XPW successfully carrying out shows in the East Coast and garnering some success in cities like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh thanks to promotional efforts on the part of Shane Douglas. Rivalry With ECW From its inception, XPW had an intense rivalry with ECW. XPW's rivalry with ECW may have been used as a way to promote the company, after Paul Heyman pulled out of negotiations for ECW and Extreme Associates to promote each other's products. XPW wanted to get exposure beyond Southern California and ECW seemed to be a good opportunity to get that exposure. The situation culminated in a stunt at the June 2000 edition of ECW's annual summer pay-per-view, Heat Wave. Black purchased front row tickets to the show, and brought a cadre of his wrestlers to the event. The XPW crew were visible on camera but unacknowledged by announcer Joey Styles, remained civil throughout the show until the main event featuring Tommy Dreamer and Justin Credible. As the match's participants made their way to the ring, the XPW contingent donned shirts emblazoned with the logo of their home company. A brawl in the parking lot then broke out between the XPW ring crew and the ECW locker room, but details are sketchy. It is known that security ejected the XPW group, who were then met by the ECW wrestlers. Initial reports claimed that Kristi Myst somehow touched Francine Fournier and that prompted the incident, but Francine herself has since gone on record as saying that she was never grabbed or in any other way touched by any of the XPW crew, and other eye witnesses support the story that Francine never had a hand laid on her. Controversy and the Demise of XPW Controversy existed in XPW since the company was founded, and controversy would also be what ended XPW. In the beginning, XPW often featured adult movie stars and action that blurred the line between hardcore wrestling and sports entertainment. XPW (and the XPW ring) was also featured in several pornographic movies produced by Extreme Associates. In April 2003, Rob Black and Lizzy Borden were indicted on obscenity charges due to porngraphic material produced by XPW's parent company, Extreme Associates. Federal agents in Pittsburgh had ordered the offending material, which depicted scenes of rape, urination, and murder. The stress of the trial took its toll on the owners of the company, and XPW could no longer be subsidized financially. In January 2005, the charges were dropped but on December 8, 2005 an appeals court revived the charges The Memory Remains…………. PWTORCH HAS BROKEN THE NEWS – “WCW HEAD BOOKER KNOWN AS “THE EGO” HAS LEFT THE COMPANY TO START UP A NEW ORGANISATION” The man they simply call The Ego has left WCW overnight, pwtorch can report first to you. He is said to have left on good terms with WCW Owner Shane McMahon but just wanted a shot at the big time himself, with his own organisation, with his own style. The Ego took WCWs return to new heights for the McMahon family, and created such new stars as Harry Smith, The Untouchables & of course “Marvellous” Mark Copani. We do know The Ego was unhappy with the decision by Shane McMahon and also Eric Bischoff to drop the brand split in WCW, this could be an issue which prompted the Ego to leave WCW and fend for himself. Will he be able to attract any of his favoured big names to his new venture? We have rumours, positive rumours that former Hardcore/Garbage Promotion Xtreme Pro Wrestling is set to return to the industry. XPW.COM has been re-registered, and many trademarks have been filed. Can 2 + 2 make 4, this time or have we got it all terribly wrong?!

XPW – Xtreme Pro Wrestling hits Hollywood!!!!! XPW, the sleazy, garbage promotion which was an alternative to ECW, has been re-ignited. Former WCW Head Booker, and WCW Owner Shane McMahons right hand man, known as “The Ego” has reportedly agreed a deal with XPW Trademark Owners for the complete rights to the XPW Name & Brand. The Ego is set to re-launch XPW in Hollywood next month, he will undoubtably begin to promote a PPV every month and aim to win a TV deal. The interest in this promotion is surely going to be huge, and you cant rule out current or former WCW superstars cropping up in XPW this fall!!! If you thought ECW was tough or hardcore, then think again when you see XPW. This company takes hardcore to a whole other level. Don’t expect the same garbage Rob Black pushed out with the previous XPW, The Ego will surely push XPW with a mainstream feel to make it accessable to viewers!! More news as we get it!

Xtreme Pro Wrestling News From – PWTORCH.COM – March 2007. XPW Owner “The Ego” has yet to set a date for XPWs return to our screens. Rumours are that XPW will offer at first a Fortnightly PPV event until debuting a Webcast show on XPW.COM this summer of 2007. PPV names are as of yet un-confirmed, as this is just a strong rumour, but “The Ego” has purchased the rights to ALL of XPWs images and branding, so many former PPV names could return. Much like “The Ego” booked WCW, which although a WWE owned product, has began to level peg with the WWE at the top of the wrestling world again, XPW is aimed at the minute to be a cutting edge promotion (as was WCW under The Ego). Although expect graphic and violent scenes a plenty in the new XPW, they are not Hardcore, XPW is Xtreme. “The Ego” has been rumoured to have been devising new style, never seen before Xtreme matches that will become part and parcel of an XPW card. If matches have never been seen before, then surely people will tune in, out of interest?! We know that the XPW World Title will return, the XPW TV Title will possibly return, although a TV deal itself is a future target, and of course the XPW Tag Titles will return, what else can “The Ego” conjure up? The talent pool for XPW to aim at is an interesting one. “The Ego” is a well liked, but very, very charasmatic character, who doesn’t mind upsetting superstars. We all remember where The Nasty Boys signed for ECW in September 2006, and went on a 3month undefeated reign as ECW Tag Team Champions, only for “The Ego” & WCW Owner Shane McMahon to sign The Nasty Boys to WCW contracts and never use them. There are a lot of talented unsigned wrestlers in the market right now, such as Goldberg, who incidently was fired by The Ego from WCW after almost breaking Harry Smith’s neck in Jan 07. But could he go Xtreme?! What about any current WCW superstars? Would they fancy a new challenge? Maybe unsigned and recent free agents like Donovan Morgan, Trent Acid, Mordecai, maybe those guys can make a step? But are they enough to push XPW into the mainstream. Maybe OVW Owner Randy Savage would fancy a return to the ring? Maybe some other former “Big Three” talent can be snapped up by “The Ego” What about “The Ego’s” booking team? We know he likes to have top names around him, but with all of his previous team still under contract, can he find some talent from somewhere to help him out? The wrestling world could be set to get even more interesting in this next few weeks. WCW (led by WWE) has pushed itself as an unattached force against WWE, ECW (led by WWE) has pushed itself past its former place in the wrestling market (where it was in 2001). So where does XPW fit in? Can The Ego push XPW to compete with ECW? Maybe a WWE-WCW War, and a ECW-XPW war in the mainstream could be a huge, huge, amazing boost for wrestling! Or maybe ECW & XPW can raise its game further and create a 4way war?!?! ……But what we do know, is that “The Ego” has landed in the wrestling world!

www.wrestlezone.com News Article XPW, coming off the back of a successful TV Debut have announced some sensational news. After the success of XPWs Rock Superstar Kid Kaos being General Manager for a show, XPW Owner “The Ego” has pulled some strings. Sources say that XPW will install a permanent General Manager, and XPW have sensationally confirmed that Wrestling legend, “The Hitman” Bret Hart will be at the next XPW Show!! We know Bret Hart has been working with ECW as “Director of Violence” recently, and this may also be a move from XPW to start to attack the opposition. Sources cannot confirm whether this is a simple rumour, or whether XPW have put this out to create some controversy, but one thing is for sure, if Bret Hart does appear in XPW, it will be groundbreaking. ….The interest has certainly been gained.

PWTORCH News & Tidbits - Bret Hart made is XPW debut last week on XPW Saturday Night as XPW President. He did an interview to the crowd which is said to have been a shoot. It was about Vince, WWE, WCW and how he wants to destroy them. The word is that Bret Hart has never been more re-focused on wrestling in a long time, and that his XPW reign could continue for some time, especially with nephew Michael Hart in the company too. - Speaking of Michael Hart, XPW officials are said to be delighted with new stable “The Future”. Led by Jeffrey Dupree, this group is fast becoming very popular backstage. Dupree & Da Beast have the look that XPW officials like, and “The Future” Tag team Matthews & Myers is seen as a new Rockers-esque team. Expect these 5 guys (with Michael Hart) to receive nice pushes in the coming months. - Kid Kaos is seen as a future true company man for XPW, he was outstanding in the previous incarnation of XPW, and this time hes picking up the ball as good as he was before. Many see a nice feud between him and The Messiah happening sooner, rather than later. - The XPW Tag Team division is looking very exciting and could become a main event attraction as XPW looks to push into the higher market. “The Hotmales” team of Lex Luger & Buff Bagwell are said to be nuturing a lot of the talent backstage which is seen as a surprise at this time, due to previous rumours of bad behaviour and personality. Expect Gangrel & Fertig to receive a new member and a proper team name. Both men are seen as having a good future in XPW. Also The Powers of Pain, (Warlord & Barbarian) are very hopeful of extending their time in XPW, they have been working out intensively to get in better shape to hang in a match with the more younger talent in XPW, such as “The Future” tag Team. - The Heavyweight Title seen is the point in XPW which is rumoured to worry The Ego, at the minute he only has his champion Goldberg & former champ Ken Shamrock who look the only real threat. We know he wasn’t keen on DDP for more than one night, but we do know “The Ego” can create a talent, much like he did with Mark Copani in WCW. Kid Kaos, Jeffrey Dupree & maybe New Jack are seen as talents that could make a step.

XPW Heavyweight Title Match – Cage of Death Goldberg © vs Ken Shamrock vs Vader - not a big goldberg fan and i think shamrock will just top this as his momentum going in is better than vaders
