I'm ecstatic with Atlanta's pick of Shelden Williams...going along with Childress, Johnson, Harrington, and Smith...we may not suck anymore. Also, anybody else think that Orlando stole Redick? Bryan Swartz Posted June 29, 2006 Share Posted June 29, 2006 I don't think Redick was a steal, because he's the kind of player that I'd expect to have trouble in the NBA. He can shoot, but he's not athletic enough to be a quality defender or create his own shot. Think John Paxson/Steve Kerr -- which isn't to say he won't have a solid career, but his lack of any meaningful upside means he went right about where he should. I'd agree that Shelden Williams was a very solid pick, big men who can defend are worth their weight in gold. I'd say the steal of the draft was Marcus Williams to New Jersey.
