steev42
Uh yeah. Maybe I'm dumb or something, but I have no clue what this means. Can anyone help me?
NeoMetsFan
In Mexican wrestling, The Martinete (piledriver) is illegal...and if a wrestler performs it, the fans probably will riot...it's THAT looked down upon. Only the top heels can even dream of using a piledriver in Mexico. So if that's turned on, don't use a piledriver.
The Humanoid Typhoon
In the game, it's any head dropping move including a DDT.
Vladamire Dracos
In the game, it's any head dropping move including a DDT.
Actually, that depends on the type of DDT. An Implant DDT isn't, but a "normal" DDT is.
Adam Ryland
That is correct. The definition is actually any move that involves a worker being "spiked" downward onto the top of their head, so it does not cover moves where the worker is driven down on the back of his head (like a Edge-O-Matic) or face-first (like an X-Factor). Briareos
So is Jerry Lawler unable to set foot in Mexico without the threat of being lynched?
D. Boons Ghost
So is Jerry Lawler unable to set foot in Mexico without the threat of being lynched?
At least it's a great heel angle. "I didn't know it was illegal. What are you... peasants?" Art Barr got a lot of play with that when he first started in Mexico. And anyway, in Lawler's own home turf of Memphis, the piledriver was illegal. He'd love it. :) It all depends on the data. If a standard Piledriver is set as a Martinete - and if the promotional AI says that Martinetes are illegal - Lawler (or someone like him) is heading for Doom City. Or at least a move set makeover. Heh.
MrKain
Unless you're a heel... then you use it and get ridiculous heat. Too many, though, can totally ruin your career. lol
Moderndaywarrior
So is Jerry Lawler unable to set foot in Mexico without the threat of being lynched?
Actually,Lawler was such a master of psychology he even got heat with the Piledriver in placces where it was allowed; He'd let the the other guy go for one, block it,then moan and moan to the ref how "The Piledriver is a dangerous hold and illegal in Tennessee, where I come from.He should be DQ'd.".The soon as he got the chance, lawler would absolutely spike the other guy with a Piledriver. As far as Wrespi 2 goes,at least it warns that you bill be DQ'd straight away if you try to perform a Piledriver with that rule on,so it's pretty impossible to unintentionally DQ yourself with one. That's why it's important to have a few different finishers;if for some reason you can't use one of them, you have other ones to fall back on. robbo316
Sorry to bump an old thread, but just as a point of interest, even the WWE has banned piledrivers, except for Jerry Lawler and The Undertaker, because they are the only ones trusted enough to do it safely.
