another question on potential

ok so it is possible that potential can increase. it would then seem that if you wanted to see if that possibility existed you would look at the attributes that indicate hard work and intelligence. in the case of a qb i would look at work ethic, intelligence and then low scores in some important areas like arm strength. my thought being that you look at the "heart factor" and then look at an apparent lack of natural ability figuring that the intangibles will increase those areas. i realize by the earlier post and answer it is a crapshoot but what i am trying to figure is how to increase the odds of finding the "diamond in the rough".
