justtxyank
I feel like this is a simple change. Currently there is a rule that prohibits a company from hiring foreign workers. With the removal of the touring contracts we lost the ability to block a company from hiring tour regulars, etc. I would suggest a small addition: No foreign workers on written contracts. This would allow Japanese companies to sign guys that wouldn't be locked in for 3 years.
michael1234_uk
This wouldn't reflect reality though as Japanese companies do sign people for multiple years.

Historically, most gaijin only come in for tours. It's changed a little in modern times, but typically between tours, the workers work elsewhere and that's not able to be replicated anymore because Adam made the decision to remove touring contracts. See Jaysin's response. Historical mods are very difficult to put together correctly now because the current system doesn't make even a passable attempt at giving us options to replicate old time periods. In the 1980s it was almost unheard of for a Japanese company to sign an American worker to any sort of exclusive contract for multiple years. Stan Hansen was the biggest, most over gaijin in Japan for nearly two decades and was never under any sort of multi-year exclusive deal. Most NON star Americans signed up to work tours which was replicated in the last game by "touring" contracts. We lost that for this version so now if a guy like Rob Van Damn is signed by AJPW (which he was in real life to work several tours) he's going to sign a 3 year written exclusive deal. Stan Hansen is unavailable except on trading deals which are much harder to pull off and much more limited (and also requires you to send someone to Japan to get jobbed out.) Abdullah the Butcher is going to work AJPW and never do his hits in Puerto Rico. Etc. etc.
The Blonde Bomber
I wish that the touring style contract would return if it was possible.
