- Austin Creed and Matt Riviera have formed a friendship online over a game of WWE 2K17. Of course, Riviera is not in the game, so he played as Creed's friend Big E instead. They won handily over the computer controlled Uso's.

- The only other title win tonight - Masanobu Fuchi beat Naoki Tanizaki for the Wrestle-1 Heavyweight title in a match he probably shouldn't have won at his age.

TITLE MATCH: Atsushi Aoki vs. Tama Tonga for the Wrestle-1 Cruiserweight title

At 6 foot tall, Guerrillas Of Destiny leader Tama Tonga looked comfortably larger than the slim 187 lbs that he is just now meeting in the ring for the first time. Aoki, while sporting some brilliant technical skills, had considerable weight disadvantage over the challenger. Tonga did what he always does best: feigning frustration and doing the exciting things that guys like him do. That and he bounced Aoki around with high impact throws, jumps and kicks. Sealing Aoki’s arm in a rolling crucifix was simply outlandish, as was dropping Aoki on the top turnbuckle smashing his ribs. Each of these occurred on separate occasions. Once again Tonga proved he is at his best when the attack is violent. But he couldn't keep up the fire for long, as Aoki wore him down with a Kimura lock until he was visibly limping. In the end it was Aoki who finished this rather uneven encounter with an amazing spear from the top turnbuckle.

Winner and NEW champion: Atsushi Aoki (rating: 52)

NOAH G+ Cup Junior Heavyweight Tag League finale

--- Taiji Ishimori was drawing some caricatures backstage and posted some of the best ones online. I wish I could show you the one he did of SUSHI, but unfortunately it's just text.

'brother' YASSHI vs. SANADA

The two old school tough guys had great chemistry and were pretty much the underrated match of the night, really hammering each other and having great interactions all through the match. YASSHI was firing on all cylinders with his counter game and SANADA was tuned in to his time-tested strategies. The two constantly tried to remind the crowd of how real wrestling can be, i.e. stiff-looking strikes and slams that shook you in your seat. SANADA had his back facing YASSHI’s, so after a quick back elbow he tried to hit a fireman’s carry back suplex, but YASSHI just whirled him around and ejected him to the floor with a snap suplex. SANADA got his moment after yet ANOTHER close escape from YASSHI who was about to land a big body avalanche on him in the corner. SANADA lifted his leg up and clocked the charging YASSHI in the jaw, leaped onto the turnbuckle and hit a Moonsault Press, leaving YASSHI down for the count of three.

Winner: SANADA (rating: 60)

Taiji Ishimori and Rene Dupree vs. NOSAWA Rongai and Kotaro Suzuki

It has taken some positive changes in NOAH to whip the tag team division into shape, and it seems that the WRESTLE-1 Grand Prix winner Rongai has been on a roll lately, he and partner Kotaro Suzuki beat the second best mixed weight tag team Taiji Ishimori and Rene Dupree in their first win together as a tag team. Even though the win was well reasoned, it didn’t stop Ishimori from manhandling Suzuki to near-defeat here. Initially during the mixed weight tag team match Ishimori seemed to be making a difference, but as the match went on, Suzuki, a bona fide finisher and go for everything kind of wrestler, found a way to do the trademark Funnel Blaster and left Ishimori to slide into the turnbuckle headfirst. The pinfall came naturally after that.

Winners: NOSAWA Rongai and Kotaro Suzuki (rating: 66)

TITLE MATCH: Susumu Mochizuki (c) vs. SUSHI for the GHC Junior Heavyweight title

The two have never met before now, as Susumu seeks to win over Sushi to continue his very first NOAH Jr. title reign. Susumu was able to avoid Sushi’s increasingly unpredictable submissions with his own grounded, but equally effective pressure arsenal. Sushi was able to cross Susumu’s legs to escape a twist lock and prevent him from getting hold of the victory, but was unable to stop the raining offense from his opponent. Following a sunset flip power bomb, for which he immediately received a 2.5 count, all was not lost as he fought on to find a submission and keep Susumu down on the mat. Every time Susumu tried to escape, SUSHI pulled out some technical move to keep him from escaping. But Susumu saw his opportunity and took it, whipping SUSHI across the ring and caught him in a split second Lightning Flash driver for the pin. The tension in this match remained high despite the action being slow paced, with the Japanese audience watching with great respect.

Winner and still champion: Susumu Mochizuki (rating: 64)

TITLE MATCH: Akira Tozawa (c) vs. Daisuke Sekimoto vs. Kazushi Miyamoto vs. Yutaka Yoshie for the GHC Heavyweight title

"Big Over" is held up as a legendary icon and after shaking hands all around, Tozawa asserted himself as Number One in the company. The body language of Miyamoto’s handshake made it clear that he challenged Tozawa’s claim of being Number One.

Tozawa began climatically with a blistering assault on Sekimoto’s knee, only for the power wrestler to back off and find another target. Miyamoto, expertly improvising, tried to throw all his energy at Sekimoto, and after building some fire in the crowd he joined Tozawa in sending the fighter to the floor with a smashing yakuza kick. While Sekimoto recuperated, Tozawa and Miyamoto stood back to back against Yutaka Yoshie as he entered the fray. With Miyamoto using his powers of distraction and speed to his benefit, it came down eventually to a 2 vs 1 match against Yoshie due to his significant size advantage.

Due to the strength of the offense he put up, the match looked like Yoshie would be wrestling both men to a stalemate, but once again the long suffering Sekimoto found the strength to finally get back at all three men, and in a highlight reel moment he shouted out (in Japanese) “match winner!”, and leaped over the rope to land a frog splash on Miyamoto and Yoshie. Tozawa escaped the splash! While Sekimoto was groggy and crawling to the pin, Tozawa grappled him roughly from behind and pulled him into a delayed German suplex, securing his victory and the title.

Winner and still champion: Akira Tozawa (rating: 75)
