6/17/1993 - Denver, Colorado - The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made its debut today, as a group of martial arts enthusiasts and promoters gathered to announce the creation of a new type of competition. The UFC will feature a tournament-style format that will pit fighters of different styles against one another in a no-holds-barred, full-contact fight.

According to the promoters, the goal of the UFC is to determine which style of martial arts is the most effective in real-world combat situations. Fighters of different backgrounds, including karate, boxing, wrestling, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, will compete in a series of bouts, with the winner being crowned the Ultimate Fighting Champion.

The first event is set to take place later this year, and organizers are confident that it will be a huge success. The UFC has already received support from some of the biggest names in the martial arts community, and many experts believe that it has the potential to revolutionize the way that people think about combat sports.

*This is a dynasty that will follow the history of the UFC from it's inception in 1993 - current day. Some of the beginning events will mirror their real life counterpart until we establish some sort of pecking order, then I will start to book shows as I see fit.

I want to give a shoutout to Feltzz, xUncleJJ, Tag01, OldschoolMMA, Lucien Sanchez MK2, etc. for all of the effort put into this mod. Also, shoutout the WMMA discord. If you're a fan of this game I recommend you check it out.

Please feel free to predict / comment as we go along. Enjoy!*

Thank you for the prediction! Better yet, thank you for the mod! Now that I have been given access to posting pictures I'm going to put some more effort into these posts (they are actually  "news articles" generated from ChatGPT). I'll make sure to give you and the rest of the mod makers a proper shout in the OP.

Yes, Royce is unstoppable just like his real life counterpart. I actually went back and rewatched some of the fights from these first events very recently. It's insane how effortlessly he was able to take out some of these guys. I am predicting much of the same at UFC 2.

Same finale, different result!

We're definitely going to be moving in a different path than the one the UFC took come UFC 5. At the time, Tyson is still in prison until March of 95. After that, I don't think the UFC would be able to lure him away from boxing - he set the PPV record in his first fight back.

Although it'd be interesting to see how quickly Gracie would make work of Tyson...

In response to the scandal, the UFC has taken swift action, announcing that Gracie has been removed from the upcoming UFC 5 card in April and replaced with Eugenio Tadeu (7-2, 1-1 UFC). Gracie's contract has been terminated effective immediately, putting an end to his storied career in the UFC.

The news has come as a shock to fans and followers of Gracie, who was widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. His achievements in the UFC, including being the first ever Ultimate Fighting Champion, will undoubtedly remain a part of the sport's history, but his legacy has been tarnished by this recent revelation.

The UFC has stated that it does not tolerate any behavior that goes against its values, and that it has taken this action to ensure the integrity of the sport. It is a difficult time for the UFC and its fans, as we say goodbye to one of its most beloved legends, but it is important that the UFC takes a stand against the use of prostitutes and any other behavior that goes against its values.

We will continue to follow this story as it develops and will update you with any further information as it becomes available.

Royce Gracie has been released by the UFC.

oh boy, Gracie first lost to Shamrock and then this scandal, not a very interesting start to the year for him
Winning Shamrock with Gracie was definitely not expected, it never happened in my game

Debuting Tank and Severn! I see Severn winning the whole tournament here, may they meet in the finals

Unbelievable! I scheduled the event and then advanced the next day and boom... toxic for at least the next 2 years. Royce was up 2-1 against Shamrock, although they were always in at least the second round of a tournament.

I guess now we will never get to see a fresh Shamrock vs a fresh Royce, which makes for a good organic "What if?".
