UFC RISE IN SIZE FOLLOWING POSITIVE FEEDBACK FROM UFC 9

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is on the rise, expanding from its underground roots to a "Mid-Level Regional" level of popularity. The recent shift to a 1v1 format in their events, where fighters compete for a single 60-minute round, has been met with critical acclaim, and fans are flocking to see the intense and unique combat sports action.

However, as the UFC continues to grow, it is facing increasing pressure from fans and critics who are calling for more weight classes to be added. Currently, fighters compete against each other regardless of their size, which can lead to uneven and potentially dangerous matchups.

While the lack of weight classes has been a staple of the UFC's distinctive identity, it may need to be reconsidered as the organization continues to expand and attract a wider audience. With more states and countries starting to regulate and legalize mixed martial arts, the UFC may need to conform to become more mainstream in order to continue its growth.

Fans are eager to see what changes the UFC will make in the upcoming year, and whether it will stick to its roots or adapt to the changing landscape of combat sports. One thing is for sure, the UFC is continuing to captivate audiences with its unique and thrilling style of competition. As it rises in popularity, the organization will have to carefully balance preserving its identity with evolving to meet the demands of a growing audience.

Thanks for predicting! I know that I post these early shows rather quickly (trying to build up divisions). 7-3, impressive!

Yes, our divisions came earlier due to the fact that WMMA does not handle rankings nor tournament results properly in the Openweight division. So, to eliminate "Legislative Pressure", the UFC has decided to take a step in protecting the fighters by two weight divisions: Light Heavyweight (155-205) and Heavyweight (+206).

I thought Bas Rutten was going to take care of Shamrock as well. Shamrock broke his jaw and will be out for 6 months, while Rutten broke his hand and is missing around the same amount. Rutten had won the RINGS Openweight Grand Prix in 1996, which is why he was considered a dangerous opponent for Shamrock. I'm sure he'll be right back in the title picture upon his return.

And so begins the reign of the Shamrock brothers here at the UFC. For now, anyways...
