Bradley Blaze will continue to dominate at the top of the mountain. Possibly some interaction with the Bootcamp will happen.

Wrestling Classic
Friday Week 4, February 2020
Rip Chord Memorial Coliseum
300 Fans, SOLD OUT
Broadcast on The Carolinas Network
.01 Rating [2,944 Viewers]

image.jpegimage.jpeg

The broadcast of Wrestling Classic starts with Marvin Earnest and Sam Keith standing at the announce booth. They welcome everyone to another marquee night in professional wrestling where Mid Atlantic Wrestling will continue to cement its fifteen year legacy as the torch holder for pro wrestling as it was meant to be. They billboard the show and put over the sponsors for tonight's event, paying special attention to hyping the main event where Bradley Blaze puts the Mid Atlantic Championship on the line against Rip Chord Invitational Winner Nelson Callum.

image.jpegimage.jpeg

Opening Match
Tag Team Match
Thirty Minute Time Limit
Joey Fili & Quentin Queen vs. Antonio Del Veccio and Annihilus

The show starts with a mostly one-sided tag team match. Antonio Del Veccio, who many might forget was the very first graduate of the Mid Atlantic Bootcamp under MAW founder Rip Chord (and even uses a very similar DDT to the DDT that Rip Chord made famous). Annihilus, the big Finnish bruiser that stands 7'0" and weighs almost 400 pounds of solid muscle are making their tag team debut against two graduates of TCW's School of Pro Wrestling. The young duo was physically outmatched. ADV and Annihulus took their time dismantling them, ADV getting to show how solid of a wrestler he is with big Annihilus coming in for short power spots. In the end, Antonio got the win for his team with that trademark DDT.

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Annihilus and Antonio Del Veccio defeated Joey Fili and Quentin Queen in 12:24 when Antonio Del Veccio pinned Joey Fili with an Italian DDT. In terms of in-ring work, Antonio Del Veccio was head and shoulders above everyone else. [35]

Singles Match
Thirty Minute Time Limit
Ace Youngblood vs. The Architect w/ Lisa Bowen

The veteran Ace Youngblood, who very well could be on his way to the Mid Atlantic Hall of Fame when his career is over had a great opportunity here against The Architect. The Architect has made it clear that he has his eyes on singles gold here in 2020 and that he sees Ace Youngblood as a stepping stone for greatness. Lisa Bowen was particularly good at ringside. She had an 'executive' feel to her and seem refreshed, plus she has excellent chemistry with Ace. The match was very solid and old school, neither man did anything spectacular but just had a solid affair that let Ace shine as a babyface but got over how dangerous the Architect can be.

In a decent match, The Architect defeated Ace Youngblood in 15:46 by submission with a Blueprint. [44]

COTT World Junior Heavyweight Championship
Singles Match
Sixty Minute Time Limit
Miller Fforde vs. American Flash ©

CZCW's American Flash, the reigning World Junior Heavyweight Champion made his MAW debut here taking on Miller Fforde. Fforde was looking for a big, statement win to get himself back on track after coming up short in the Rip Chord Invitational. Miller wanted to raise his profile in the world of wrestling and this could be his match. Miller came out and really outshone American Flash. He looked a step ahead of him at all times and definitely more impressive. Fforde hit several big moves and looked like he was going to win when The Architect ran down and caused enough of a distraction for Fforde to slip off the ropes. Flash hit his big High Velocity Senton and got the win.

In a decent match, American Flash defeated Miller Fforde in 19:22 by pinfall with a High Velocity Senton following interference from The Architect. American Flash makes defence number four of the COTT World Junior Heavyweight title. [37]

Mid Atlantic Tag Team Championship
Tag Team Match
Sixty Minute Time Limit
The Wolf Pack w/ Lisa Bowen vs. DeMarcus & Gray (c)

The Mid Atlantic Tag Team Championship match was next where Nate DeMarcus and Tyrone Gray took on The Wolf Pack. This built off their match at the Rip Chord Invitional. They know each other well and it was a well fought match with a lot of back and forth action and near falls. In the end, Lisa Bowen was the difference maker and it was her presence that allowed The Wolf Pack to get the victory and become the new Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions.

In a decent match, The Wolf Pack defeated DeMarcus & Gray in 17:14 when Sione Tokoeka pinned Nate DeMarcus with a Brainbuster Suplex after Lisa Bowen interfered. The Wolf Pack win the Mid Atlantic Tag Team titles. [35]

Nelson Callum vs. Bradley Blaze (c)

If there was a match that people paid to see, it was this one. Nelson Callum, the reigning PSW Champion and the winner of the fifteenth installment of the Rip Chord Invitational Tournament, took on the reigning Mid Atlantic Champion Bradley Blaze. Blaze has really been on a roll recently and was looking to continue to build on the legacy he's trying to leave in MAW. This was an excellent match that could have main evented anywhere in the country. All three hundred people packed into the Rip Chord Memorial Coliseum [the first sell out in the new building] were into everything. Blaze and Nelson made natural opponents for each other, with Nelson coming across as this smarmy guy who thinks he's too good for MAW and Bradley Blaze the rough-and-tumble cowboy [in Maryland of all places] that just wants a good fight. A good fight was had and both pulled out all the stops where they built to multiple false finished throughout the near thirty-minutes and had a lot of momentum changes. In the end, the Dallas Drop from Bradley got him the pinfall and his fifth defense of the championship.

In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Bradley Blaze defeated Nelson Callum in 29:20 by pinfall with a Dallas Drop. Bradley Blaze makes defence number five of the Mid Atlantic Championship title. [51]

Mid Atlantic Wrestling Episode #5
Thursday Week 1, February March [Taped on Wednesday]
Rip Chord Memorial Coliseum
105 Fans
Broadcast on The Carolinas Network
.01 Rating [2,408 Viewers]

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

The show doesn't start at the broadcast table, instead it starts in the center of the Mid Atlantic ring with Mid Atlantic Wrestling Promoter Sam Keith. He is joined by Mid Atlantic Champion Bradley Blaze and Chesapeake Bay Champion Jaylon Martins.

Sam Keith goes right into talking about how Mid Atlantic Wrestling has grown since it started at the end of 2005. Since he took over from the legendary Rip Chord, it has seen an explosion in talent and importance. Guys like Mainstream Hernandez, Steven Parker, Bulldozer Brandon Smith, The Awesomeness, Des Davids, Natural Storm, Cameron Vessey, Casey Valentine, Bret Starr, Jay Chord, Greg Gauge, and Roderick Remus all got their starts here before they became national names and international names. MAW is a hallowed place in pro wrestling and has been instrumental in building the COTT into the powerhouse it is today -- the final protector of wrestling as the way it should be. Local. In your towns and communities. Sam Keith is proud of that and he is incredibly proud of men like Bradley Blaze and Jaylon Martins who exemplify what it means to be Mid Atlantic Wrestling.

With that being said, the COTT has granted Mid Atlantic Wrestling exclusive use over two brand new COTT-sanctioned titles. The first is the COTT United States Championship. He then pulles out a brand new championship.

image.jpeg

He announces that from this point forward, Bradley Blaze will be the COTT United States Champion and Sam is confident Bradley will continue the legacy he has started. He then takes the Chesapeake Bay Championship from Jaylon Martins and says that henceforth, the Mid Atlantic Championship will be the other singles title in MAW and he christenes Jaylon Martins as the new Mid Atlantic Champion but he does stipulate that the original Mid Atlantic Championship's legacy will continue under the COTT United States Championship and the American and Chesapeake Bay's legacies will continue under the Mid Atlantic Championship banner.

Both men shake his hands and exit and Sam continues. For the second championship, we have a brand new tag team title coming to Mid Atlantic Wrestling. The United States Tag Team Championship and we will be holding an eight team tournament over the next four weeks -- culminating at Super Showdown. The bracket goes up on the screen.

image.png

Tonight we will see The Canadian Daredevils take on the Mechanics -- Bobby and Joel Oxford, the sons of Robert Oxord, as well as our main event which will see Death Row taking on The Past Masters! You won't want to miss any episodes of Mid Atlantic Wrestling. 55.

Lisa Bowen is backstage by herself. She's all smiles as she talks up how The Wolf Pack made good on part of her plan to bring championship gold to The Bootcamp when they put an end to the reign of DeMarcus and Gray -- though she can't understand for the life of her why The Wolf Pack were not invited to this new United States Tag Team Title tournament. No member of The Bootcamp was and she finds that appalling! She's interrupted by The Heartbreak Express. They tell her to enjoy her success while she has it, because they're making it their mission to tear down the Bootcamp brick by brick! 29

Everyone's been asking The Architect why he cost Miller Fforde the World Junior Heavyweight Title. Why would he do that to a guy who has been so pro-MAW. Well, The Architect is tired of getting looked over, he's tired of getting passed over for opportunities and chances and he decided that that was a perfect chance to make a statement. So that's what he did and he'll keep making statements until he gets what he wants -- which is a singles championship opportunity! 38

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Antonio Del Veccio comes out to ringside with his enforcer, the massive Annihilus and runs up their success and how now that Bradley Blaze is the United States Champion it gives ADV even more of a reason to try to soften him up or end his career and he's got the perfect guy to do it. The Triple Threat, Davis Wayne Newton! Newton comes out and runs up how he's been overlooked and underrated for far too long and how Rip Chord never gave him a chance in MAW so he went to Canada and Puerto Rico to build his name and now he's coming to the Rip Chord Memorial Coliseum to take his rightful place. 39

Lisa Bowen is backstage with the Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions, The Wolf Pack, who she doesn't understand why they've been left out of this tournament, especially when Nate DeMarcus and Tyrone Gray were given a spot. She says there is collusion in the COTT offices to hold back members of The Bootcamp -- who have never been granted any kind of COTT-sanctioned championship opportunities, but she is petitioning to get that changed. 39

The show starts with reigning COTT United States Champion Bradley Blaze in the center of the ring. The big cowboy says that he takes a lot of pride in the fact that he's become the face of Mid Atlantic Wrestling on The Carolinas Network. He takes a lot of pride in the fact that he's the COTT United States Champion and in just over a week he's going to put that on the line against Davis Wayne Newton. He puts over Davis Wayne Newton as a triple threat and a very talented wrestler, but he also emphasizes that he's proven himself and and at Super Showdown, he's going to do that again. 50
