What do you expect from a House Of Torture match? Ren and Yujiro bite and claw and cheat as much as they can. On the outside, Dick Togo is not as much encouraging as he is quite literally helping them by distracting the referee and catching their opponents' feet. On the opposite side, the brave Honma fights like a devil but is often isolated by his two opponents. As soon as he finally can reach his corner for the hot tag, Shota Umino comes out like a house of fire... And Ren Narita tags out, evading his former friend and partner. Shota beats the hell out of Yujiro and finishes him off with the Death Rider to end the match in just under 10 minutes.

UNITED EMPIRE (CALLUM NEWMAN, FRANCESCO AKIRA, TJP, HENARE & JEFF COBB) vs. BULLET CLUB WAR DOGS (DRILLA MOLONEY, CLARK CONNORS, GABE KIDD, ALEX COUGHLIN & DAVID FINLAY)

These two factions will have a cage war in Osaka. But tonight, it's not a warm up match, it's a war. They all brawl like mad men, with Catch 2/2 and the team of Drilla Moloney & Clark Connors having a huge face-off, few weeks befores the third match in their trilogy, for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. But the man who shines in this match is without any doubt Gabe Kidd. His agressiveness puts him in a favourable position against each of his opponents, especially Callum Newman who he batters again and again. In the end, Jeff Cobb comes face to face with Bullet Club leader David Finlay and puts him up for a Tour of the Islands, but Coughlin blindsides him with a vicious kick to the face. Finlay seizes the opportunity and hits his Into Oblivion for the win.

EL DESPEWATO VS. HOUSE OF TORTURE (SHO & YOSHINOBU KANEMARU)

 

Yoshinobu Kanemaru was El Desperado's mentor and friend, but it's all thrown out the window. These teams will face off in two singles match on the next show: SHO will face Master Wato, and El Desperado will defend his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight championship against "Heel Master" Yoshinobu Kanemaru. The former Suzuki-Gun members go at it at the beginning of the match, but Despy's quick offence is too much for Kanemaru, who retreats behind the ropes and tags SHO. We get a fairly open match, with Despy & Wato's skill and physicality matched by House of Torture's cunning and viciousness. Kanemaru decides to go for one of his famous trick: spitting whisky in Wato's eyes, but Wato dodges out of the way and he hits SHO instead. As Desperado dropkicks Kanemaru out of the ring, Wato hits the Recientemente II on SHO for the win.

EL DESPEWATO DEF. HOUSE OF TORTURE

 

"Somebody stops them!"

House of Torture can never stops when it musts! Dick Togo joins his bretherens in the ring and hits Master Wato with his patented push-up bar. The three House of Torture members dispatch quickly of Master Wato and throw him out of the ring. The one they're after is El Desperado. The IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion fights with all he's got, but with a 3-on-1 disadvantage and against a steel bar, there's only so much he can do. He gets beaten down, lifted up, held still, and Kanemaru kicks him right in the balls. He then poses with El Desperado's belt, a championship he will be fighting him for on next show.

 

 

GUERILLAS OF DESTINY (HIKULEO & EL PHANTASMO) vs. BULLET CLUB (CHASE OWENS & KENTA)

In a strange bit of NJPW booking, two team who will fight for the IWGP Heavyweight tag team championship at the end of the tour battle now with no title on the line. Despite the apparent lack of stakes, Bullet Club seems to have a goal: injure ELP to maximize their chances of winning the belts on february the 11th at Osaka. They isolate the Headbanger with a succession of quick tags, targetting his famously injured knee where he suffered a torn MCL and meniscus. The enforcer of GoD, Hikuleo, is forced to watch as his partner gets torn apart by Chase Owens and KENTA. ELP fights vaillantly, ELP fights bravely, and a swift superkick out of nowhere on Chase allows him to tag in Hikuleo. The giant runs through his opponents like a beast and chokeslams Chase Owens for a 2 count. Hikuleo clearly dominates but fails to secure a decisive pinfall. In the end, KENTA achieves the impossible and lifts him up for a GTS. Under his weight, KENTA staggers back and El Phantasmo blindly tags Hikuleo. KENTA his his GTS on Hikuleo, but he's no longer the legal man! KENTA pins him, Hikuleo kicks out anyways, and the ref tells KENTA he's not pinning the legal man! He gets back up. ELP is seizing him up, goes for a superkick... But KENTA dodges and hits him with the GTS!

After regrouping, Hikuleo and Phantasmo can be seen arguing about the finish of the match. They nevertheless walk out together.

 

 

LOS INGOBERNABLES DE JAPON (BUSHI, HIROMU TAKAHASHI, YOTA TSUJI, SHINGO TAKAGI & TETSUYA NAITO) 

VS.

JUST FIVE GUYS (TAKA MICHINOKU, DOUKI, YUYA UEMURA, TAICHI & SANADA)

Two top stables of NJPW collide! There's a lot of story to unravel in this match: SANADA and Naito lock up for the first time since their Wrestle Kingdom main event to start off the match. The former champion will challenge Naito once again at the end of the tour on February the 24th. Neither man gets a serious advantage after a bit a chain wrestling and some hold exchanges and both tag in the most junior member of their stable. Tsuji and Uemuera, also fresh of their Wrestle Kingdom match, go at it with a flurry of strikes. Yuya Uemura is eager to prove that his Wrestle Kingdom win wasn't a fluke, few weeks before facing Kazuchika Okada in one of his final NJPW appearances. But unfortunately, he gets run over by Tsuji who powers him at each occasion. The match progress and each member of opposing team have a chance to shine. DOUKI gets in a few amazing quick sequences with Hiromu, Taichi and Shingo brawl for a bit, even getting heated on the outside and having to be separated by their team mates, and even old TAKA Michinoku proves he still belongs with a few arm drags and a beautiful dropkick to BUSHI. After more than twenty minute of match, Yota Tsuji gets the better of TAKA and hits him with the Gene Blast to give his team the win.

KOPW2024 PROVISIONAL 

RULES: ISHIMORI'S RING FIT 10 MINUTES MATCH

TAIJI ISHIMORI (pc) VS. GREAT O'KHAN

The crazy Odyssey of the KOPW continues! As Taiji Ishimori's rules won the fan poll, this match will be contested under the following: every three minutes, the competitors must engage in a 3 minute high intensity interval training. The wrestler to hold the belt at the end of the 10 minutes will be declared the winner and the provisionnal KOPW Champion. Two strategies are opposed as Ishimori tries to use his superior cardio to worn out O'Khan during the first three minutes. His quicki non-stop offense gets the Mongolian Warlord on the back foot, and when the whistle blows, Ishimori doesn't struggle a bit to hit his burpees, as O'Khan can be seen to breathe heavy. The next three minutes are much more evened out, with O'Khan taking back the advantage with a series of chops and powermoves. The second HiiT training portion of the match is as easy as the first one for Taiji Ishimori, but O'Khan is beginning to struggle as he hits his last jumpings jacks with much less energy than the firsts. The third portion of the match begins, and a heavily breathing O'Khan gets taunted by Ishimori who avoids him and -literally- runs circles around him and around the ring. O'Khan runs, but he's getting tired. As the final HiiT training begins, he struggles to hit the exercises while the "Cardio Bunny" Ishimori is as fresh as one could. There's only one minute left in the match, and Ishimori decides to avoid O'Khan again. But United Empire's Warlord has a better idea: he goes to the outside and just... Grabs the belt. Having lost sight of the ultimate goal of the match, Ishimori tries to get it back, but two mongolian chops and a chokeslam put him away while the 10-minute time limit is reached. O'Khan's wits defeated Ishimori's physical prowess.

TAMA TONGA (c) VS. EVIL

After more than a decade in New Japan, record-breaking tag team title reigns and plenty of memories, this is Tama Tonga's final match in NJPW... And he gets ABSOLUTELY smashed. EVIL runs him over with lariats, big boots and powerslams. It almost seems like the EVIL of old is back as Dick Togo doesn't interfere and there's not the slightest cheating done by the House of Torture leader. Tama Tonga gets a few shots in, tries to regroup, but the initial flurry of offense by EVIL was just too much. He just doesn't manage to get back in the match and gets put away in less than six minutes by EVIL.

KAZUCHIKA OKADA, HIROSHI TANAHASHI & TOMOHIRO ISHII (c) VS. TMDK (SHANE HASTE, MIKEY NICHOLLS & KOSEI FUJITA)

Of course, this is about Kazuchika Okada. This is the Rainmaker's first match since he announced his upcoming departure from New Japan, and the streamers are raining down on him as soon as he makes his entrance. A clearly emotional Okada insists on starting the match and gets paired up with TMDK's former young boy Kosei Fujita, encouraged by his mentor Zack Sabre Jr. at ringside. The two get into a rather even exchange, and Fujita hits Okada with a picture perfect dropkick to send him down. Okada smiles, reminiscent of the cocky Okada of old, and switches it up to second gear. The strikes that rain down on Kosei Fujita are the likes of no one can endure, and he quickly tags out his partner. Each member of TDMK is less skilled than their opponents, but they make it up with their superb teamwork, quick tags and cunning moves. Individually, Ishii, Okada and Tanahashi are above their opponents, but this is the six man championship and TMDK prove that they might be one of the best trios out there. Okada fights each one of them and they each have a moment, but Okada is just too strong. Whatismore, he's lifted by the fans who chant his name when he's been on the apron for too long or when he re-enters the match. Okada even has a quick war of words with ZSJ on the outside, allowing Kosei Fujita to surprise him with a roll up!.. Only for a two count. The match is not far from the 30 minute time limit, but a miscommunication between Ishii and Tanahashi causes the NJPW World Television champion to be blindsided by a Kosei Fujita lariat. He gets tossed into Haste and Nicholl's arms for a Thunder Valley, and Fujita pins the Ace for a shocking win - without a doubt the most important of his career!
