Harbour Clash Live #9

Saturday 22th July 2022 - The Royal Maritime Hotel, Portsmouth
Attendance: 34

The Royal Maritime Hotel Venue Hall in Portsmouth was an oven. As July’s oppressive heatwave pressed against the city, it seemed to find its way inside every crevice of the old building, making the room feel as though it were on the verge of melting into the sticky summer asphalt outside. Rows of plastic folding chairs groaned beneath the weight of their occupants, and the air was thick with a palpable tension, sweat, and the faint whiff of an overworked air conditioner struggling valiantly but ineffectually in the corner.

Despite the sweltering discomfort, the small crowd had gathered with a mixture of eagerness and impatience. They were an eclectic mix—families, friends, die-hard fans in vintage wrestling tees, and the curious wandering souls who had stumbled upon a flyer or a social media post about tonight’s spectacle. Some fanned themselves with hastily purchased programs, while others wiped their brows with the back of their hands, their faces flushed and glistening under the harsh fluorescent lights.

At the far end of the hall, a makeshift stage had been assembled with a roped-off wrestling ring that stood like a proud but weary sentinel amidst the chaos of folding chairs and hastily hung banners. The smell of hot dogs, popcorn, and the faint tang of industrial cleaner filled the air, blending into a heady mix that spoke of amateur enthusiasm and makeshift charm.

The crowd’s murmur was punctuated by the occasional clinking of ice in paper cups, the distant rumble of a passing vehicle from the street outside, and the erratic hum of the overtaxed air conditioning unit. A single spotlight, swaying slightly with the vibrations of the ancient rafters, flickered intermittently above the ring, adding a touch of dramatic anticipation to the scene.

Amidst the growing sea of warm, restless bodies, a young girl, perhaps eight or nine years old, clutched her father’s hand tightly. Her wide eyes followed every movement of the venue staff as they made last-minute adjustments to the ring, her face a portrait of starry-eyed excitement. Next to her, her father—a burly man with a tattoo of a faded championship belt on his forearm—seemed almost as enthusiastic, despite his gruff exterior and the sheen of sweat on his brow.

Across the room, a group of teenage friends chattered excitedly, their conversation a rapid-fire exchange of wrestling trivia and predictions about tonight’s matches. They had come for the spectacle, for the drama, and for the chance to cheer their favourite local heroes into victory. Nearby, a pair of elderly women leaned together, their conversation a blend of polite curiosity and gentle scepticism. They’d been persuaded by a grandchild’s enthusiastic plea to join in the evening’s entertainment, their presence a testament to the show’s ability to bridge generational gaps.

A sudden, dramatic hush fell over the crowd as the lights dimmed, signalling the imminent start of the show. The heat seemed to momentarily ease, replaced by a buzzing anticipation that rippled through the crowd like an electric current. The entrance music for the first wrestler, a booming, theatrical score, began to play, cutting through the thick, humid air and drawing an immediate, collective cheer from the audience.

As the ring announcer’s voice echoed through the hall, clear and authoritative, the heat of the day was forgotten, if only for a moment.

Gary Dudley VS Mickey Robson

Gary Dudley’s match against Mickey Robson at the Royal Maritime Hotel Venue Hall was a showcase of technical wrestling, albeit under a subtly subdued atmosphere. As the bout began, Dudley’s considerable size advantage was evident, with his powerful moves setting the tone. Robson, agile and quick, countered with a blend of speed and tactical maneuvers, creating a balanced and engaging contest.

From the outset, Dudley controlled much of the match, using his strength to overpower Robson. Despite this, Robson’s resilience shone through. He executed several impressive counters and near escapes, demonstrating his wrestling acumen. The back-and-forth nature of the match kept it interesting, though the crowd’s reaction remained more reserved than anticipated, with the applause and cheers coming in moderate bursts rather than sustained enthusiasm.

The turning point came when Dudley, seizing an opportunity, executed a Poison DDT with precision. The move, while effective, did not ignite the crowd as much as might have been expected. Dudley swiftly covered Robson for the pinfall, with the referee’s count marking a clear and decisive end to the bout.

Grant Taypen VS Strife

In a thrilling display of athleticism and skill, Strife clashed with Grant Taypen in a match that captivated the audience from start to finish. From the bell, it was evident that both wrestlers were prepared to deliver a high-calibre performance.

Strife, renowned for his high-flying style, quickly took centre stage with an array of aerial maneuvers and fluid grappling techniques. His agility was on full display as he executed a series of impressive flips and acrobatic strikes, pushing the pace of the match. Grant Taypen, equally formidable, used his strength and technical prowess to keep the bout competitive. His powerful suplexes and sharp counters demonstrated his resilience and strategic mind, creating a back-and-forth dynamic that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

As the match progressed, the crowd’s excitement grew, their cheers and gasps punctuating every near-fall and impactful move. The energy in the room was palpable, reflecting the high stakes and intensity of the contest.

The bout reached its climax at 11 minutes and 36 seconds, when Strife soared through the air and executed a stunning Corkscrew Moonsault. The crowd erupted in applause as he landed the move with perfect precision, securing the pinfall and clinching the victory. Strife’s triumph was met with enthusiastic cheers, the audience clearly appreciative of the high-quality wrestling they had just witnessed.

Kaden King VS Lewis Duckworth

In a match designed to captivate the audience, Lewis Duckworth faced off against Kaden King, delivering a performance that showcased solid wrestling despite the crowd’s muted reaction. From the opening bell, both competitors exhibited their technical skills with precision. Duckworth’s approach was methodical and deliberate, using a series of calculated holds and powerful strikes to assert control. King, with his nimble agility and sharp counters, provided a dynamic counterbalance, creating a technically proficient and engaging contest.

The match was crafted to build tension and engage the crowd, but the atmosphere remained notably subdued. The audience’s reaction was steady but not as fervent as expected. Applause and cheers were consistent, yet the excitement did not reach the anticipated levels, leaving the venue with a lingering sense of anticipation that never fully materialized.

At 9 minutes and 32 seconds, the bout reached its peak with Duckworth executing a perfectly timed Over-The-Shoulder Backbreaker. The maneuver was delivered with impeccable precision, leading to King’s submission and Duckworth’s victory. The submission move was executed seamlessly, showcasing Duckworth’s technical prowess and concluding the match on a strong note.

Rating: 27

As the arena lights dimmed and the crowd’s applause settled into a murmuring hum, Lewis Duckworth stood in the center of the ring, basking in the afterglow of his victory over Kaden King. His expression was one of smug satisfaction, and he took full advantage of the spotlight to revel in his success. Duckworth’s voice, rich with confidence, echoed through the venue as he began to extol his own virtues.

“I told you all,” Duckworth boasted, his tone dripping with self-importance, “I’m the best in this ring. No one can match my skills, my technique, my sheer dominance. I’m a champion in every sense of the word.”

“Another match, another victory!” Duckworth declared, his voice brimming with unearned confidence. “I’ve been taking out anyone they put in front of me. I’m on a roll, and nobody can stop me. It’s only a matter of time before I’m recognized as the best there is.”

kfWoW5E.jpg

Just as Duckworth was reaching the peak of his self-praise, the arena’s atmosphere shifted. The unmistakable sound of a well known theme song cut through the air, drawing attention away from Duckworth. Cain Carlisle made his entrance, his presence commanding immediate attention. With a confident stride, Carlisle made his way to the ring, a look of disdain clear on his face.

“Lewis,” Carlisle began, his voice cutting through Duckworth’s bluster like a knife, “You can brag all you want, but it’s getting old. You beat Kaden King. Congratulations. You’ve been beating jobbers left and right, and you’re acting like you’ve conquered the world. Let me remind you, winning against the lowest tier doesn’t make you a champion. It just means you’re good at picking easy fights.”

The crowd erupted with approval, their excitement palpable as Carlisle continued. “You want respect? Prove it against someone who actually matters. Your constant self-promotion is getting old, and frankly, it’s embarrassing. Until you step up and face real competition, your victories mean nothing.”

Carlisle’s words hit their mark, leaving Duckworth visibly flustered. The crowd’s cheers for Carlisle echoed through the arena, signalling their desire for a more substantive challenge. With a final sneer, Duckworth exited the ring, leaving Carlisle’s to bask in the spotlight, and get ready for his match that was next.

Augustus Bumblescoop VS Cain Carlisle

The bell rang, and Augustus Bumblescoop and Cain Carlisle immediately locked up in a battle of skill and strategy. Bumblescoop, known for his high-flying style and energetic approach, took the early advantage with a flurry of acrobatic moves that had the crowd buzzing. Carlisle, demonstrating his own formidable strength and technical prowess, responded with powerful counterattacks and expertly executed holds, creating a back-and-forth contest that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

As the match progressed, the excitement in the arena grew. Each near-fall and dramatic maneuver was met with gasps and cheers, reflecting the high stakes and quality of wrestling on display. Both competitors were pushing themselves to their limits, delivering a thrilling spectacle that seemed poised to reach a decisive climax.

Then, in an unexpected twist, the arena's atmosphere shifted. Lewis Duckworth, who had been left the ringside area, suddenly emerged, causing a stir among the crowd. Duckworth’s sudden appearance took everyone by surprise. With a series of provocative gestures and taunts, he began to distract Cain Carlisle. His interference was subtle but effective, drawing Carlisle’s attention away from the action in the ring.

Seizing the opportunity, Bumblescoop capitalized on the distraction. As Carlisle’s focus wavered, Bumblescoop moved swiftly, launching into his signature Bumble Blast, crashing down onto Carlisle with pinpoint accuracy. The impact left Carlisle reeling and unable to defend himself, and Bumblescoop quickly covered him for the pinfall. As Bumblescoop covered Carlisle for the pinfall, Duckworth's shouting could be heard over the crowd's roars. “YOU DONT MATTER!,” he said, the words tinged with a hint of malice.

The referee’s count was decisive, and the arena erupted in cheers. Bumblescoop’s victory, aided by the unexpected distraction from Duckworth, was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience. Duckworth, having completed his unexpected intervention, offered a final, inscrutable glance towards the ring. He then turned and walked briskly backstage, leaving behind a swirl of speculation and excitement among the fans.

Harbour Clash Live #10

Friday 5th August 2022 - Fareham Leisure Centre, Fareham
Attendance: 34

The evening brought with it a calmness that seemed to envelop Fareham. Outside, the air was mild, with temperatures settling comfortably around 19°C . A gentle breeze drifted through the town, rustling the leaves of the nearby trees, while a clear sky, dotted with just a few clouds, stretched overhead. It was the kind of evening that felt peaceful, almost serene—perfect for a stroll along quiet streets or a leisurely chat on a garden bench. But inside the Fareham Leisure Centre, the atmosphere was anything but tranquil.

As the few fans streamed through the doors, the warmth of the evening clung to them, mixing with the excitement that buzzed in the air. The Leisure Centre, typically a place for swimming lessons and basketball games, had been completely transformed. The high ceilings and expansive floors of the multipurpose hall now framed a wrestling ring, brightly lit and commanding all attention. Rows of chairs lined the room, and some seats were filled with eager faces, their eyes fixed on the ring where tonight's drama would unfold.

The pleasant weather outside was a sharp contrast to the tension inside. Conversations swirled around the room, punctuated by laughter and the clinking of bottles as fans grabbed refreshments from a makeshift concession stand run by the centre staff. The light breeze from the open doors brought a brief, cool relief to the crowd, a reminder of the calm outside, but it did little to temper the growing anticipation.

The crowd settled into their seats, glancing at the ring where the first match of the night would soon begin.

The murmur of the crowd grew as the lights inside the Fareham Leisure Centre began to dim, signalling the start of the evening’s action. The anticipation was palpable, the excitement crackling through the air as the fans leaned forward in their seats, eyes glued to the ring. Suddenly, the sound system roared to life, and the familiar strains of UK Dragon’s entrance music echoed through the hall. The fans erupted into cheers as their beloved veteran wrestler, and owner of HCW, made his way to the ring. UK Dragon’s presence commanded attention, his years of experience and deep connection with the fans evident in every step. Draped in his iconic red and blue gear, with his union-jack & dragon-themed mask obscuring his features but not his charisma, he walked with the confident stride of a man who knew how to work a crowd.

The cheers grew louder as he ascended the ring steps and stepped through the ropes. Once inside, he paused for a moment, soaking in the adulation, before raising a microphone to his lips. The crowd quieted, eager to hear what the Dragon had to say.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” UK Dragon began, his voice carrying the authority of a veteran who had seen it all, “Welcome to another night of HCW action! We’ve got something special in store for you tonight, so buckle up, because it’s going to be one hell of a ride!”

The crowd responded with an enthusiastic cheer, the energy in the room continuing to build.

“Now, I know you all come here to see the best wrestling that HCW has to offer,” he continued, pacing the ring with purpose. “And tonight, we’re giving you exactly that. This isn’t just any ordinary show. Tonight, we’re making history right here in Fareham Leisure Centre!”

He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. The crowd buzzed with anticipation, sensing that something big was about to be announced.

“Tonight,” UK Dragon said, his voice rising with excitement, “we’re going to have the first-ever tag team match in HCW history!” The announcement drew a huge cheer from the fans, who erupted into applause and whistles, the crowd obviously not having been around back in March to see HCW's actual first Tag Match. “That’s right—tonight, we’re stepping into a new era. And that’s not all. We’re also going to have the very first Fatal 4-Way match in HCW history!”

The reaction was electric, with the fans on their feet, clapping and shouting in approval.

“So let me tell you exactly what we have lined up for you,” he said, bringing the microphone closer as if to share a secret. “First up, we’ve got the Fatal 4-Way. Four of the toughest competitors HCW has to offer will step into this ring, and only one of them will walk out with the victory. It’s going to be Strife, Grant Taypen, Baz Smith, and Davey Singleton going head-to-head, every man for himself. No alliances, no partners—just pure competition. And let me tell you, these guys are going to tear the roof off this place!”

The crowd roared its approval, eager to see the promised chaos and action. UK Dragon let the noise wash over him before continuing.

“And then, in the main event,” he said, his tone growing even more intense, “we have something truly special. The first-ever tag team match in HCW history will see two teams step into this ring and prove who’s the best. On one side, we’ve got Augustus Bumblescoop, the man who just can’t be kept down, and Lewis Duckworth. Now, I know what you’re thinking—Lewis Duckworth in a main event? But let me tell you something: Lewis has earned this spot. Last month, he stepped out, made himself known, and tonight, he’s got his chance to prove he belongs in the spotlight!”

There was a mixed reaction from the crowd, some cheering for Bumblescoop, others murmuring at the mention of Duckworth, a wrestler who had been polarizing to say the least. UK Dragon raised a hand to quiet the crowd, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

“On the other side of the ring,” he continued, “we’ve got Cain Carlisle, a man who’s been on a tear lately, and his partner for tonight, Jeff Amazon. These two are no strangers to the big stage, and tonight, they’re looking to make their mark in HCW history by taking down their opponents in this historic tag team match.”

The crowd’s response was immediate, a roar of approval and excitement at the prospect of seeing these four competitors clash in the ring.

“This is what HCW is all about,” UK Dragon said, his voice filled with pride. “It’s about stepping up, taking risks, and putting on the best damn show you can. Tonight, we’re going to see the best of the best go at it, and I promise you, it’s going to be a night you’ll never forget.”

He paused, lowering the microphone for a moment as he looked out over the crowd, letting the anticipation build to a fever pitch. When he spoke again, his voice was low and filled with intensity.

“So, Fareham, are you ready for the first-ever Fatal 4-Way and tag team matches in HCW history?”

The response was deafening, the crowd on their feet, cheering and shouting in unanimous excitement.

“Then let’s not waste any more time,” UK Dragon said with a grin. “Let’s get this show started!”

He tossed the microphone aside and exited the ring as his music hit once more, the crowd’s cheers following him every step of the way.

Baz Smith Vs Davey Singleton Vs Grant Taypen Vs Strife
Fatal Four Way Match

The bell rang, and chaos erupted as Strife, Grant Taypen, Baz Smith, and Davey Singleton exploded into action. Strife and Baz immediately clashed in the centre of the ring, trading heavy blows. The ring shook with each impact, neither man willing to back down. Meanwhile, Grant and Davey engaged in a rapid exchange of holds and counters, showcasing their technical prowess. Davey, quick on his feet, ducked under Grant’s suplex attempt and delivered a sharp dropkick, sending Grant into the corner.

Strife, taking control, hoisted Baz onto his shoulder for a massive powerslam, shaking the ring with the impact. He went for an early cover, but Davey broke it up with a well-timed kick to Strife’s head. He darted around the ring, avoiding Strife’s powerful grasp, while Grant, ever the strategist, targeted Strife with stiff kicks, attempting to wear down the big man.

Baz, regrouping, barrelled into Grant with a powerful shoulder block, sending him to the mat. Sensing an opening, Baz charged at Strife, but Strife countered with a thunderous spinebuster, leaving Baz writhing on the mat. Strife, now in control, turned his attention to Davey, who had climbed to the top turnbuckle. Davey launched himself into the air with a daring moonsault, but Strife caught him mid-air and tossed him with a fallaway slam.

Grant, seizing the moment, locked in a sleeper hold on Strife, trying to sap his strength. Strife staggered, the hold taking its toll, but Baz broke it up with a heavy blow to Grant’s back. The match was reaching a fever pitch, with each man pushing his limits. Strife, shaking off the effects of the sleeper, found himself surrounded. For a moment, it seemed the other three might team up against him, but the alliance quickly dissolved as Davey attacked Baz, and Grant attempted a roll-up on Strife, which Strife kicked out of at one.

Baz hoisted Davey onto his shoulders for a powerbomb, but Strife charged in, levelling both with a big boot. With Baz and Davey down, Strife turned to Grant, who attempted a superkick. Strife caught his leg and delivered a brutal lariat that sent Grant crashing to the mat. The crowd was on their feet as Strife, sensing victory, lifted Grant onto his shoulders.

Grant, in desperation, wriggled free and shoved Strife toward the ropes. As Strife bounced back, Grant leapt for an kick that staggered the powerhouse. Grant hit the ropes for another attack, but Strife scooped him up and slammed him down with a spine-shattering powerslam.

The referee counted to three as Strife covered Grant, securing the victory in 13 minutes and 10 seconds. The crowd erupted in cheers as Strife stood tall, his hand raised in triumph.

Brilliant White Vs Ryan Goodluck

The initial lock-up was a test of wills. White, with his sleek technique, tried to overpower Goodluck, but he dodged and weaved, slipping out of White's grasp. Goodluck's agility was on full display as he darted around the ring, landing quick, crisp strikes that seemed to frustrate White. Each move from Goodluck was met with a mixture of cheers and gasps from the crowd, who were clearly behind their local hero.

White, however, was far from rattled. With a sneer, he began to methodically dismantle Goodluck’s momentum. A calculated sidestep sent Goodluck crashing into the ropes, and White capitalized with a devastating knee to the midsection. The impact was hard and precise, causing Goodluck to crumple to the mat. White took control, rolling Goodluck over for an early pin, but Goodluck’s tenacity shone through as he kicked out at two.

White’s frustration was evident, but he didn’t let it deter him. Instead, he ramped up the pressure, dragging Goodluck to his feet and sending him into the corner with a hard Irish whip. White followed up with a series of punishing strikes, each blow echoing through the arena. Goodluck, though visibly shaken, absorbed the hits with a grim determination, his eyes never leaving White’s.

As White continued his assault, Goodluck’s resilience began to surface. With the crowd rallying behind him, their chants growing louder, Goodluck dug deep and fought back. He slipped under a wild swing from White and launched a flurry of counter-attacks. A spinning heel kick sent White reeling, and the crowd roared in approval, sensing a shift in the momentum.

With the arena buzzing, Goodluck climbed to the top turnbuckle, the fans holding their breath in anticipation. He launched into a high-flying crossbody, aiming to turn the tide. But White, ever the strategist, caught Goodluck mid-air, the impact reverberating through the ring. With a deft move, White rolled through and lifted Goodluck into a fireman’s carry. The crowd gasped as White executed a devastating death valley driver, leaving Goodluck sprawled on the mat.

White, smelling victory, went for another cover. Goodluck’s resilience was on full display as he kicked out just before the count of three, eliciting a roar of encouragement from the fans. The fight was far from over, and White’s smirk faded slightly, replaced by a steely focus.

White hauled Goodluck to his feet once more, his grip firm and unyielding. With a grunt of exertion, he lifted Goodluck high for his finishing move, the White-Out. Goodluck struggled valiantly, trying to break free, but White’s hold was too strong. The slam came crashing down with a resounding thud, shaking the ring and leaving Goodluck motionless. White covered him confidently, and the referee’s count was swift—one, two, three.

The bell rang, signaling the end of the match at 12 minutes and 26 seconds. Brilliant White’s hand was raised in victory, and he basked in the mix of cheers and boos from the crowd, his smug grin making it clear that he relished the moment

Augustus Bumblescoop & Lewis Duckworth VS Cain Carlisle & Jeff Amazon
Tag Team Match

The lights dimmed, and the entrance music for Augustus Bumblescoop hit the speakers. The spotlight focused on the entrance ramp as Bumblescoop and Duckworth made their way to the ring. Bumblescoop, with his eccentric appearance and charismatic presence, was greeted with a mixture of admiration and cheers. Duckworth, brimming with confidence and energy, hyped up the crowd with his animated gestures. Their entrance was met with enthusiastic applause, setting a high energy for the match ahead.

The arena lights shifted, and the entrance music for Cain Carlisle soon followed. Carlisle, known for his prowess and focused demeanour, walked down the ramp with a serious expression. Jeff Amazon, usually with a commanding, if odd beat presence, followed closely behind. Their entrance was marked by a no-nonsense attitude, and they exuded a palpable sense of determination as they made their way to the ring.

As the bell rang, signalling the start of the match, Lewis Duckworth and Cain Carlisle were the first to step into the ring. Duckworth immediately took the initiative, using his speed and agility to keep Carlisle on his toes. He darted around the ring, landing quick strikes and employing a high-energy style that had the crowd cheering. Carlisle, however, was not easily flustered. His acumen allowed him to counter Duckworth’s attacks with a series of precise grapples and holds, aiming to ground the powerhouse.

The crowd was on their feet as the match unfolded, with Duckworth and Carlisle exchanging rapid moves and counters. Carlisle’s skill was on full display as he worked to trap Duckworth in various submission holds. Duckworth, demonstrating impressive resilience, managed to escape each attempt and respond with his trademark force.

After several minutes of intense action, Carlisle tagged in Jeff Amazon. The powerful Amazon entered the ring with a resounding presence, quickly taking control of Duckworth. Amazon’s willpower was evident as he dominated Duckworth with a series of powerful strikes and slams. Despite the onslaught, Duckworth fought back with determination, managing to stay in the match with quick counters and high-impact moves.

Augustus Bumblescoop, eager to join the fray, waited patiently for his turn. Duckworth, after enduring a brutal exchange with Amazon, finally made the tag. Bumblescoop entered the ring with a mimed roar, immediately showcasing his strength. He and Amazon locked up in a fierce battle, with Bumblescoop’s powerful slams and shoulder blocks seemingly gaining the upper hand.

The match’s intensity escalated as Bumblescoop and Amazon clashed in a display of raw power. Bumblescoop’s was countered by Amazon, and the two men exchanged heavy blows, each trying to outmuscle the other. Outside the ring, Cain Carlisle and Duckworth were engaged in their own intense battle. Carlisle, using his technical skill, attempted to outmaneuver Duckworth, but Duckworth’s agility and quick reflexes allowed him to stay competitive. The action outside was just as heated as inside, with both men exchanging punches and grapples.

As the match neared its climax, Duckworth seized a crucial opportunity. With Jeff Amazon reeling from Bumblescoop’s earlier assault, Duckworth climbed to the top turnbuckle, preparing for a high-risk maneuver. The crowd held its breath as Duckworth launched off with a missile dropkick that connected perfectly, sending Amazon crashing to the mat.

Outside the ring, the action had become increasingly chaotic. Bumblescoop and Carlisle’s clash spilled into the ringside area, their battle spilling over the barricade and into the crowd. The referee struggled to maintain control, his attention divided between the chaos inside and outside the ring.

With Amazon stunned, Duckworth moved quickly, going for the cover. The referee, focused on the action inside the ring, began the count. Carlisle, still engaged with Bumblescoop outside, was unable to intervene. The referee’s count reached three, and the bell rang, signalling the end of the match at 15 minutes and 26 seconds.

The venue hall, modest yet brimming with history, was tucked away in the heart of the town. The sun, sinking low in the mid-August sky, cast a soft amber light through the tall, arched windows, spilling warmth into the cozy space. Outside, the air held the last whispers of summer, a gentle 24 degrees Celsius, just enough to keep the evening comfortable without the need for jackets.

Inside, the hall was alive with a quiet, eager energy. Rows of wooden chairs, worn smooth by years of use, gradually filled with excited fans. The venue, intimate and familiar, creating an atmosphere where every voice, every cheer, would echo off the walls, magnifying the shared excitement. The sound of footsteps across the polished hardwood floors mingled with the soft rustle of programs being flipped through, as attendees settled into their seats, greeting neighbours with nods and smiles.

Overhead, the lights were dimmed, casting a gentle glow over the crowd. The stage, barely raised, sat just a few feet from the front row, close enough for the audience to feel every impact, every slam that would soon reverberate through the room. The ring was set up almost humbly in the center, its ropes slightly frayed from countless matches, the canvas stretched tight and ready for the night's action.

The murmur of conversation was like a low hum, building and fading as groups of friends leaned in close, whispering predictions and memories of past shows. There was a certain charm in the air, a sense of community as everyone gathered for the shared experience of wrestling—a far cry from the massive, impersonal arenas. The smell of popcorn and hot dogs drifted through the space, carried on the air by fans who balanced paper trays and plastic cups, careful not to spill as they navigated the narrow aisles.

As the final few attendees filtered in, the doors to the hall creaked shut, sealing in the collective anticipation. The smallness of the venue made every seat feel prime, every fan feel involved, as if they were not just spectators, but a part of the night’s unfolding drama. The murmurs grew quieter, conversations tapering off as all eyes turned toward the ring, the anticipation thickening with each passing second. In the silence before the first bell, the air was charged with expectation, ready to explode at the first sign of action.

Jeff Amazon VS Matt Carpenter

The bell rang, and the match was on. The small venue hall buzzed with anticipation as Jeff Amazon and Matt Carpenter squared off in the centre of the ring. The energy in the room was palpable, every eye locked on the two men who were about to put on a show designed to get the crowd on their feet.

Amazon, with his towering presence and air of confidence, stood firm, ready to impose his will. Carpenter, circled cautiously, looking for an opening, his mind clearly at work on how to tackle the manin front of him. The crowd leaned in, sensing the tension as the two competitors closed the gap.

The opening exchanges set the tone for the match—intense, fast-paced, and fiercely competitive. Carpenter, with his methodical approach, tried to bring the match to his level, looking to outthink Amazon. But Amazon, with his raw power and surprising agility, wasn’t about to be outdone. Each man was determined to prove a point, and the crowd fed off their energy, the cheers growing louder with every move.

Midway through the match, Carpenter managed to turn the tide with a series of well-placed strikes that momentarily slowed Amazon’s momentum. The crowd, fully invested, rallied behind Carpenter, urging him on as he tried to keep the big man down. But Amazon, with his resilience and brute strength, fought back, shaking off Carpenter’s offense and regaining control.

As the match neared its climax, the pace quickened, the intensity reaching a fever pitch. Carpenter, knowing he had to pull out all the stops, unleashed a flurry of offense, each move designed to wear Amazon down and set him up for the finish. But Amazon, sensing the end was near, powered through, the determination clear on his face as he took everything Carpenter could dish out.

At the 10:08 mark, the crowd knew they were witnessing something special. Amazon, with the energy of the room behind him, seized the moment. He hoisted Carpenter into the air, the room erupting in anticipation of the inevitable. With a thunderous impact, Amazon delivered the Amazon Prime. The referee dropped to the mat, hand slapping down once, twice, three times. The bell rang again, signalling the end.

Brilliant White VS Lone Wolf

The bell rang, and the atmosphere in the venue hall shifted immediately. The crowd, still buzzing from the opener, now turned their attention to the centre of the ring, where Brilliant White and Lone Wolf stood face-to-face. The tension was thick, and the contrast between the two competitors was striking.

Brilliant White, with his pristine white gear and polished demeanor, exuded arrogance. He flashed his trademark smirk, a look of condescension as he regarded Lone Wolf. On the other side, Lone Wolf, with his steely eyes and unyielding stance, was the embodiment of silent intensity. He didn’t need to posture or grandstand; his very presence was a warning.

As the two circled each other, it was White who made the first move, darting in with a quick lockup. He was methodical, trying to assert his technical superiority early, manoeuvring Lone Wolf into a wristlock that showcased his crisp execution. But Lone Wolf, unfazed, countered with a powerful shove, sending White stumbling back, much to the delight of the crowd.

White’s expression flickered with frustration, but he quickly masked it with his usual confidence. He moved in again, this time more cautiously, attempting to outmaneuver Lone Wolf with a series of chain wrestling sequences. The crowd watched intently as White transitioned seamlessly from a headlock to a takedown, keeping Lone Wolf grounded, a masterclass in technical wrestling. But Lone Wolf wasn’t about to be kept down for long. With a surge of power, he rolled through, escaping White’s grasp and creating space.

The match picked up pace as Lone Wolf began to assert his style, turning the contest into a brawl. He hit White with a barrage of stiff strikes—forearms, chops, and a particularly vicious knee to the gut that doubled White over. The crowd winced with each impact, fully engaged as Lone Wolf began to dominate the match with his unrelenting aggression.

White, however, wasn’t about to let Lone Wolf run away with the momentum. After absorbing the punishment, he managed to catch Lone Wolf off guard with a well-timed dropkick that sent his opponent crashing into the corner. White, sensing an opportunity, followed up with a running elbow, the force of which reverberated through the small venue. He then climbed the ropes, looking to deliver a high-risk move, but Lone Wolf was quicker. He launched himself forward, knocking White off the turnbuckle, and sending him crashing to the mat.

The match settled into a back-and-forth rhythm, both men trading control in a battle of wits and endurance. Lone Wolf used his raw power to keep White on the defensive, but White’s cunning and technical prowess allowed him to slip out of tight situations. The crowd was split, some rallying behind Lone Wolf’s tenacity, others impressed by White’s resilience and ring awareness.

As the match approached the ten-minute mark, it was clear both men were digging deep. Lone Wolf, breathing heavily, attempted to set up for his finisher, a devastating full nelson slam that had put many opponents away in the past. But White, showing his ring smarts, ducked under the swing and quickly capitalized. In a flash, he spun Lone Wolf around and hoisted him up, planting him with his devastating White Out.

The crowd erupted as White held on for the pin, the referee’s hand slapping the mat once, twice, three times. The bell rang at 9:56, signalling the end of an intense, hard-fought battle.

Cain Carlisle VS Lewis Duckworth

Cain Carlisle’s music hit the speakers, and the crowd erupted with cheers as he stepped through the curtain, a wide smile on his face. The fan-favourite was in his element, soaking in the adoration from the small but passionate crowd. Dressed in his signature gear, Carlisle made his way down the aisle, high-fiving fans and pausing to exchange words with a few of the younger members of his fanbase. His enthusiasm was infectious, spreading through the venue like wildfire.

As he approached the ring, his focus was squarely on the match ahead, his confidence evident in every step. He was moments away from stepping through the ropes when, without warning, a blur of movement erupted from backstage.

Lewis Duckworth, with a snarl etched on his face, sprinted down the aisle. The crowd’s cheers turned to gasps as Duckworth blindsided Carlisle with a brutal clothesline, sending him crashing to the floor. The smile was wiped from Carlisle’s face as he hit the mat hard, the wind knocked out of him. Duckworth, a notorious powerhouse with a reputation for underhanded tactics, didn’t give Carlisle a second to recover. He pounced on his fallen opponent, fists flying as he hammered Carlisle with a relentless assault.

The arena was filled with boos and shouts of protest, but Duckworth was unfazed. He dragged Carlisle to his feet, only to send him hurtling into the ring steps with a sickening thud. The impact was brutal, and Carlisle crumpled to the ground, clutching his shoulder in pain. Duckworth wasn’t done, though. He grabbed Carlisle by the hair, dragging him around the ring like a ragdoll before slamming him face-first into the outside turnbuckle. Carlisle’s head snapped back on impact, his body slumping against the steel post as he slid down to the floor.

Duckworth, breathing heavily but showing no signs of fatigue, surveyed his handiwork with a twisted smile. The crowd’s anger rose to a fever pitch, but their boos only seemed to fuel Duckworth’s sadistic pleasure. He circled Carlisle’s motionless body, taunting the crowd as he kicked Carlisle’s limp form, making sure everyone knew who was in control.

Finally, Duckworth stood over Carlisle’s prone body, his expression one of pure arrogance. He placed his boot on Carlisle’s chest, pressing down just enough to assert his dominance. With one hand raised high in mock victory, he looked out at the crowd, basking in their jeers. The referee, helpless to stop the assault, could do nothing but watch as Duckworth declared himself the victor in a match that never even had a chance to begin.

As Duckworth finally stepped away, leaving Carlisle lying battered and bruised on the floor, the crowd’s hatred followed him, but it was clear that in that moment, Duckworth had made his mark.

Augustus Bumblescoop VS Grant Taypen

The bell rang, and the crowd settled in, ready for the final match of the evening. Angustus Bumblescoop and Grant Taypen stood across from each other, the contrast between the two competitors stark. Bumblescoop, with his eccentric attire and quirky energy, bounced on his toes, a mischievous grin on his face. Taypen, all business, stared down his opponent, his muscles tensed, ready to unleash his raw power.

The two circled each other cautiously before locking up in the centre of the ring. Taypen, using his strength advantage, immediately tried to overpower Bumblescoop, shoving him back into the corner. But Bumblescoop, known for his unpredictability, slipped out of Taypen’s grasp at the last second, darting behind him and delivering a quick jab to the ribs. Taypen grimaced but quickly turned, looking to corner Bumblescoop again.

For the first few minutes, the match was a seesaw battle. Taypen used his strength to keep Bumblescoop grounded, hitting him with heavy strikes and slams that echoed through the venue hall. Each time Bumblescoop hit the mat, the crowd winced, but they knew better than to count him out. Bumblescoop, ever the resilient underdog, would roll away, duck under, or find a way to keep Taypen from fully capitalizing on his power.

As the match wore on, Bumblescoop began to turn the tide, using his speed to frustrate Taypen. He ducked and dodged, peppering Taypen with quick strikes, wearing him down. The crowd started to rally behind Bumblescoop, cheering as he began to take control. Taypen, visibly frustrated, swung wildly, trying to land a knockout blow, but Bumblescoop was always a step ahead, evading each attempt with his unorthodox movements.

At around the ten-minute mark, the momentum was fully in Bumblescoop’s favor. He had Taypen reeling, the larger man struggling to keep up with Bumblescoop’s relentless pace. Sensing victory, Bumblescoop seized the moment, setting Taypen up for his finishing maneuver. After ducking under a final wild swing from Taypen, Bumblescoop sprang into action, hooking Taypen and lifting him with surprising strength.

With the crowd on their feet, Bumblescoop executed the Bumble blast with precision, driving Taypen hard into the mat. The impact was thunderous, and Bumblescoop immediately hooked Taypen’s leg for the pin. The referee dropped to the mat, counting one, two, three.

As the final bell echoed through the venue, Angustus Bumblescoop sprang to his feet, a triumphant grin lighting up his face. The crowd erupted in cheers, their adulation fuelling his celebratory antics. With a dramatic flourish, Bumblescoop began his signature victory routine, his playful spirit infectious.

First, he mimed lifting an enormous, invisible trophy high above his head, turning from side to side to ensure everyone got a good look. He then pretended to wipe away imaginary tears of joy, a comical gesture that drew laughter from the crowd. Not stopping there, Bumblescoop performed an exaggerated victory dance, complete with high-knee kicks, flamboyant spins, and playful winks at the fans. He twirled around with the grace of a ballerina, only to break into a series of joyful, over-the-top poses as if he were posing for an imaginary victory photo.

With each mime and gesture, the crowd’s cheers grew louder, their energy blending with Bumblescoop’s playful celebration. He pretended to high-five imaginary fans, then took a mock bow, soaking in the adoration. As he finally exited the ring, the smiles on both his face and those in the audience were undeniable, making for a memorable conclusion to an exhilarating night.

Harbour Clash Live #12

Sunday 4th September, 2022 - Stamshaw Community Centre, Portsmouth
Fans In Attendance : 43

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a muted, golden hue over the city of Portsmouth. It was a warm but cloudy day that hinted at the lingering summer, though the crispness of autumn was just beginning to make itself known. The streets were quiet, save for the occasional rustle of leaves stirred by a gentle breeze.

At the Stamshaw Community Centre, a small but dedicated crew of staff moved with quiet efficiency. Their task today was one they had done many times before, but each time carried a certain gravity. Folding chairs, scuffed from years of use, were carefully arranged in neat rows. The echo of metal legs clattering against the worn wooden floor filled the hall, a sound that would soon be drowned out by something much louder.

In the centre of the hall, a crew were hard at work, setting up the ring that would soon become the epicentre of tonight’s drama. They moved with a practiced ease, the kind that comes from years of experience, each person knowing their role to perfection. The heavy steel frames clanged as they were assembled, each piece fitting together like a puzzle. The ropes, thick and unforgiving, were pulled taut, stretching across the ring like barriers to a world only a few were brave enough to enter.

The mat, soft yet firm, was unrolled and carefully secured. It bore the marks of countless battles, each scar a testament to the warriors who had fought before. The canvas would soon become a stage for new stories, where heroes and villains would clash under the dim lights of the community centre.

As the final touches were put on the ring, the crew stepped back, surveying their work with a sense of pride. They knew that soon, the quiet of Stamshaw would be shattered by the roar of the crowd, the thud of bodies hitting the mat, and the exhilarating chorus of cheers and boos that could only come from a night of wrestling.

Tonight would be more than just a show. It would be a gathering of community, a celebration of strength and resilience, of storytelling through sport. And as the doors of the community centre prepared to open, welcoming the first fans inside, it was clear that this night would be one to remember. The stage was set, and the time for action was almost upon them.

Davey Singleton VS Matt Carpenter

From the outset, Carpenter tried to assert control with his calculated and methodical approach. He used his size advantage to overpower Singleton early, forcing him into the ropes and delivering punishing strikes and holds. Carpenter’s goal was clear: wear down Singleton’s energy and weaken his defences. He even used underhanded tactics, like raking Singleton’s eyes, to maintain his grip on the match.

Singleton, however, refused to stay down. Known for his resilience and quickness, he continually fought back, countering Carpenter's offense with bursts of speed and precise strikes. Despite the pounding he took, Singleton found openings to land impactful moves, keeping Carpenter on his toes and the crowd firmly on his side.

The turning point came when Carpenter attempted to set up for his finishing maneuver, confident he had Singleton beaten. But Singleton, sensing an opportunity, dug deep and fought back with a series of rapid strikes that stunned Carpenter. With the crowd’s energy fuelling him, Singleton managed to escape Carpenter’s grasp and hit a lightning-quick sequence of moves, including a well-placed flying forearm and a high knee that left Carpenter reeling.

As Carpenter staggered back, Singleton seized the moment, whipping him into the ropes and then hoisting him into the air for a slingshot suplex. The move was executed perfectly, and Carpenter hit the mat with a thunderous crash. Singleton quickly hooked the leg, and the referee counted the three, securing Singleton's hard-fought victory.

Brilliant White & Jeff Amazon VS Aurelian Bradley & Bryn Archer

As the bell rang, the crowd’s anticipation exploded into a roar, signalling the start of the tag team match between Brilliant White and Jeff Amazon against Aurelian Bradley and Bryn Archer. White and Bradley were the first to engage, locking up in the centre of the ring. Bradley used his strength to push White back toward the ropes, but White’s agility allowed him to slip out of Bradley’s grasp and deliver a sharp kick to the back of Bradley’s knee, staggering the larger man.

Seizing the advantage, White employed his speed to keep Bradley at bay, executing quick strikes and dodging Bradley’s attempts to grab him. But Bradley caught White in mid-air during an attempted maneuver, lifting him with ease and slamming him down with a thunderous body slam that reverberated through the ring. With White momentarily stunned, Bradley tagged in Bryn Archer, who entered with fierce determination.

Archer immediately focused on White’s midsection, delivering a series of punishing kicks that drew gasps from the crowd. Archer then attempted a high-risk move, climbing to the middle rope and preparing for a springboard moonsault. As he launched into the air, it was clear something had gone awry. Archer’s execution was off—he connected with White but the landing was clumsy, not quite the picture-perfect move he intended. The miscalculation caused both men to crash to the mat in an awkward heap, with Archer landing heavily and White absorbing the impact unevenly.

The crowd winced at the botched move, and Archer, clearly pained by the awkward landing, took a moment to collect himself. White, still reeling from the impact, tried to shake off the disorientation as he lay on the mat. Despite the mishap, Archer quickly moved to keep the pressure on, dragging White back into the centre of the ring and applying a punishing submission hold.

The audience, sensing White’s predicament, erupted in cheers to support their struggling hero. White, fuelled by the crowd’s encouragement, fought through the pain, eventually managing to twist out of the hold. With a burst of energy, White landed a spinning enzuigiri that struck Archer on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the mat. Both men were down, and the arena was abuzz with anticipation as White crawled toward his corner.

In a desperate bid to turn the tide, White tagged in Jeff Amazon. The crowd roared as Amazon entered the ring, his presence dominating. He immediately took down Archer with a powerful clothesline, followed by a devastating scoop slam that left Archer sprawling on the mat. As Archer struggled to regain his footing, Bradley tried to intervene but was met with a big boot from Amazon that sent him tumbling out of the ring.

With Bradley out of the equation, Amazon focused his attention on Archer. Amazon’s momentum was unstoppable as he executed a series of powerful moves. With Archer reeling, Amazon prepared for his finishing maneuver. He hoisted Archer onto his shoulders and delivered the Amazon Prime that left Archer flattened on the canvas.

Amazon quickly covered Archer, and the referee counted—one, two, three. The bell rang, signalling the end of the match.

Baz Smith VS Kaden King

From the moment the match began, it was evident that this would be a hard-hitting contest. King and Smith circled each other, exchanging wary glances before locking up in the centre of the ring. Smith quickly asserted his strength, pushing King back into the corner. The referee called for a clean break, and Smith complied but not before delivering a sharp shoulder thrust that left King momentarily winded. It was a strong start for Smith, showcasing his power and aggression.

King, however, was not easily discouraged. He demonstrated his resilience by countering Smith’s initial advantage with a burst of speed and agility. King ducked under a swinging strike from Smith and retaliated with a series of rapid-fire kicks that staggered his opponent. The momentum shifted as King executed a precise spinning kick, catching Smith off-guard and sending him reeling.

With Smith momentarily stunned, King seized the opportunity to dominate the match. He executed a series of high-impact moves, including a perfectly timed dropkick and a series of elbow strikes that kept Smith on the defensive. The crowd responded enthusiastically, rallying behind King as he maintained control with his high-energy offense. Smith, however, wasn’t finished yet. He absorbed the punishment and fought back with his characteristic power. He unleashed a devastating clothesline that nearly took King’s head off, followed by a powerful suplex that showcased his raw strength. The crowd's excitement grew as Smith seemed to regain the upper hand, using his size and strength to wear King down. Smith applied a tight headlock, trying to sap King’s energy and assert his dominance in the match.

Despite the pressure, King’s resilience shone through. After enduring significant punishment, he managed to create some separation by driving an elbow into Smith’s midsection. King then used his agility to avoid a charging Smith, sending him crashing into the turnbuckle. Seizing the moment, King climbed the ropes and delivered a high-flying crossbody that earned him a near fall. The crowd roared as King began to build momentum, turning the tide of the match in his favor.

As the match approached its climax, both men were visibly exhausted but determined. Smith attempted a powerful running knee strike, but King dodged it with quick reflexes and countered with a decisive DDT that left Smith dazed on the mat. King, sensing the opportunity to finish the match, rallied the crowd with his signature moves. He prepared for his finishing maneuver, the Royal Flush.

King executed the Royal Flush with precision, quickly covered his opponent, and the referee counted—one, two, three.

Cain Carlisle VS Lewis Duckworth

The bell rang, and the two wrestlers immediately engaged in a fierce lock-up. Carlisle used his power to push Duckworth into the corner. Duckworth, however, displayed his quick reflexes and technical prowess by slipping out of Carlisle's grasp and countering with a series of rapid strikes. The crowd responded with cheers as Duckworth’s agility began to turn the tide. Carlisle, momentarily stunned, tried to regain control with a powerful shoulder tackle that sent Duckworth crashing to the mat. Carlile followed up with a big boot and a series of heavy punches, each one landing with thudding impacts. The crowd gasped as Carlisle executed a punishing body slam, attempting an early pinfall. Duckworth barely escaped, kicking out at two. Carlile’s relentless aggression kept Duckworth on the defensive, and he applied a tight headlock to wear his opponent down.

Duckworth, however, showed remarkable resilience. He fought through the hold, creating space with a series of elbow strikes to Carlisle's midsection. Duckworth used his agility to escape and delivered a spinning wheel kick that staggered Carlisle. Duckworth then climbed to the top rope and executed a perfectly timed diving crossbody. The crowd erupted as Duckworth went for a cover, but Carlisle kicked out at two.

The match’s intensity escalated as Carlisle attempted a high-risk maneuver, climbing the top rope for a diving elbow drop. Duckworth, however, rolled out of the way at the last second, and Carlisle crashed into the mat. Duckworth seized the opportunity, executing a series of rapid strikes and a swinging neckbreaker that earned him another near fall. The crowd was on its feet, cheering as Duckworth continued to press his advantage. Carlisle, visibly frustrated, fought back with his own series of powerful moves. He landed a series of heavy slams, each one reverberating through the arena. Carlisle's aggression seemed to overwhelm Duckworth, and he set up for his finishing maneuver. However, Duckworth, ever the strategist, countered with a well-timed dropkick that sent Carlisle staggering.

As the match neared the 10-minute mark, both men were showing signs of exhaustion but remained determined. Carlisle attempted a running knee strike, but Duckworth dodged and executed a stunning German suplex, bridging for a pin. Carlisle barely kicked out, the near fall adding to the dramatic tension of the match.

With the crowd roaring, Duckworth readied himself for his finishing move. He executed a flawless Over-The-Shoulder Backbreaker, applying the hold with intense pressure. Carlisle's face contorted in pain as he struggled to break free. The agony was evident, and as the referee moved in to check on Carlisle, Duckworth, fuelled by adrenaline, kept the hold locked in, before Carlisle eventually tapped.

The bell rang, signalling the end of the match after 11 minutes and 58 seconds. Despite the official call, Duckworth did not release the hold immediately. The referee, noticing Carlisle's distress, tried to intervene, but Duckworth’s grip remained firm. As the situation grew more intense, additional officials and security rushed to the ring to help. They worked together to pry Duckworth away, and after a tense moment, he finally released the hold and stepped back.

Carlisle was assisted out of the ring by medical staff, while Duckworth stood in the ring, a mix of triumph and concern on his face

Harbour Clash Live #13

Sunday 18th September, 2022 - Hayling Island Community Centre, Hayling Island
Fans In Attendance : 43

The sky over Hayling Island was a turbulent gray, clouds heavy with the threat of rain as they drifted low over the city. The wind had picked up, turning the day’s chill into something sharper, more biting. Leaves, long dead and brittle, tumbled across the streets, caught in swirling eddies that seemed to dance with the restless air. The atmosphere carried the unmistakable scent of damp earth and distant sea spray, a reminder that autumn was firmly in control.

At the Hayling Island Community Centre, the old building stood resilient against the elements, its brick façade worn but sturdy. Inside, the hall was quiet, save for the faint hum of fluorescent lights flickering to life. The space, typically used for community gatherings and local events, had been transformed. Rows of folding chairs, their metal legs slightly scuffed, were arranged in perfect alignment, facing a large, square structure at the centre of the room.

The wrestling ring dominated the space, its presence unmistakable. The steel frame was solid, its corners sharp and unyielding. Thick ropes, drawn tight and secure, formed a boundary that both invited and warned. The mat beneath was taut, its surface smooth yet marred by the faded impressions of past struggles. The canvas, though silent now, seemed to carry an energy of its own, as if it remembered the weight of bodies and the echo of blows that had once reverberated through it.

The wind outside gusted, rattling the windows as if seeking entrance, but inside, the hall remained a sanctuary of sorts. The stillness was heavy with expectation, the kind that gathers before something significant is about to happen. Soon, this quiet would be broken. The doors would open, and the people of Hampshire would fill the room, their voices merging into a singular roar that would rise and fall with the action in the ring.

The lights dimmed slightly as the familiar theme music of HSC’s owner, UK Dragon, echoed through the arena. The crowd's reaction was immediate, a mix of cheers and respectful applause for the man who had become the face of the promotion. As UK Dragon made his way down the ramp, microphone in hand, there was an air of anticipation. Dressed in a signature black suit with a dragon emblem embroidered on the chest, he carried himself with the poise of a veteran who had seen it all. On his face, the iconic Union Jack mask that had given him his name.

Climbing into the ring, UK Dragon took a moment to survey the crowd, a sombre expression on his face. The noise of the fans gradually quieted, sensing that something important was about to be said. He raised the microphone to his lips, his voice steady but tinged with concern.

“Good evening, everyone,” UK Dragon began, his voice carrying easily through the arena. “First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you for coming out tonight. Your support means everything to us and to the wrestlers who put their bodies on the line every time they step into this ring.”

He paused, allowing the audience to react, which they did with a burst of applause and cheers. He nodded, acknowledging their energy, but his expression remained serious.

“Unfortunately,” he continued, “I have some news that I wish I didn’t have to share. At our last show, two of our wrestlers suffered injuries that have prevented them from being here with us tonight.”

A murmur of concern rippled through the crowd, fans exchanging worried glances. UK Dragon’s tone grew softer, more personal, as he addressed the situation.

“Cain Carlisle & Brilliant White... These two athletes gave everything they had in that ring, as they always do, but the physical toll caught up with them. The injuries they sustained are significant, and while I know they would give anything to be here tonight, their health and well-being must come first. As much as they wanted to perform for you, they’re at home, resting and recovering.”

UK Dragon paused again, giving the gravity of his words time to settle in. “I know how much you all care about our wrestlers, and I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing them a speedy recovery. We want them back here in this ring as soon as possible, not just for their sake, but for all of you who come to see them do what they do best.”

The crowd responded with a swell of support, some chanting the names of the injured wrestlers, others simply clapping in solidarity. UK Dragon smiled, clearly moved by the fans' reaction.

“Thank you,” he said sincerely. “They’ll be back, stronger than ever, and I know they can’t wait to get back in this ring for all of you. But tonight, let’s make sure we honor their spirit by making this show one to remember.”

Aurelian Bradley VS Jeff Amazon

The moment the bell rang, the tension in the arena spiked as Jeff Amazon and Aurelian Bradley locked eyes, circling each other with an intensity that drew the crowd in. Bradley was the first to strike, charging forward with a powerful lariat that Amazon narrowly ducked, showcasing some agility right out of the gate. The two exchanged holds and counters, each testing the other's limits in a fast-paced opening sequence that had the audience hooked.

Bradley, with his brute strength, soon gained the upper hand, catching Amazon off guard with a punishing shoulder block that sent him crashing to the mat. Not wasting a second, Bradley followed up with a series of heavy stomps, each one driving Amazon deeper into the canvas. The crowd began to rally behind Amazon, their cheers growing louder as he weathered the onslaught, searching for a way to shift the momentum.

Amazon found his opening after a failed corner splash from Bradley. As Bradley collided with the turnbuckle, Amazon quickly capitalized, hitting a series of lightning-quick punches that brought the big man to his knees. The crowd’s energy surged as Amazon went to work, delivering a perfectly executed DDT that left Bradley sprawled out on the mat.

Sensing victory, Amazon tried to build momentum, but Bradley wasn’t done yet. The larger man powered out of a suplex attempt and hoisted Amazon up for a spinebuster, slamming him down with earth-shaking force. Bradley went for the pin, but Amazon kicked out at two, the audience erupting as the match continued.

With both men showing signs of fatigue, Amazon dug deep, dodging a follow-up from Bradley and nailing him with a enzuigiri that sent Bradley stumbling. The crowd roared as Amazon quickly climbed the ropes, launching himself off the top with a missile dropkick that laid Bradley flat.

In a final burst of energy, Amazon pulled Bradley to his feet and set him up for his finisher. The arena came alive as Amazon lifted Bradley and delivered the Amazon Prime, slamming him to the mat with a resounding thud. The referee dropped down, counting the pinfall: one, two, three.

JK Lee VS Marcus Young

When the bell rang, Marcus Young and JK Lee locked up in the centre of the ring, both men eager to showcase their technical skills. From the outset, it was clear that this match would be a clinic in wrestling fundamentals, with each competitor displaying a high level of precision and technique.

Young took the early advantage, using his size and strength to overpower Lee with a series of well-executed holds. Lee, however, wasn’t easily outmatched. He responded with quick counters, slipping out of Young’s grasp and using his agility to keep the match competitive. The crowd watched with appreciation, though their energy remained relatively subdued, more focused on the action than caught up in it.

Midway through the match, Lee managed to shift the momentum with a perfectly timed spinning heel kick, catching Young off guard and sending him to the mat. Seizing the opportunity, Lee applied a series of quick pin attempts, hoping to catch Young by surprise. But Young’s resilience shone through as he kicked out each time, frustrating Lee and forcing him to rethink his strategy.

As the match wore on, Young began to assert his dominance. After a well-timed reversal, he caught Lee in a standing armbar, transitioning smoothly into a leg sweep that took Lee off his feet. With Lee down, Young quickly locked in the Starfire Clutch, his signature submission hold. Lee struggled, trying to reach the ropes, but the hold was too tight. With no way out, Lee had no choice but to tap out at 9:48, giving Young the hard-fought victory.

Augustus Bumblescoop VS Mickey Robson

The bell rang to kick off what would be a showcase  between Augustus Bumblescoop and Mickey Robson. Both men were seasoned competitors, known for their ability to deliver high-quality wrestling, and the crowd buzzed with anticipation as they circled each other in the ring.

From the outset, it was clear that this match would be a chess match of sorts, with each man testing the other’s defences. Bumblescoop initiated the first exchange, quickly taking Robson down with a textbook arm drag. Robson responded just as swiftly, countering with a drop toe hold that had Bumblescoop scrambling to his feet. The opening minutes were a flurry of holds, counters, and reversals, each man looking for an edge but finding none as the contest remained deadlocked.

As the match progressed, Robson began to find his rhythm, using his speed to outmaneuver Bumblescoop. A series of crisp dropkicks sent Bumblescoop reeling, and the crowd began to rally behind Robson as he pressed his advantage. After a perfectly timed big-boot, Robson went for the first pinfall of the match, but Bumblescoop kicked out at two, drawing a murmur of appreciation from the audience.

Bumblescoop, ever the strategist, bided his time, weathering Robson’s onslaught until he saw his opening. After a missed springboard attempt by Robson, Bumblescoop seized the moment, grabbing Robson and delivering a punishing German suplex that shifted the momentum back in his favour. The crowd’s energy picked up as Bumblescoop began to assert control, methodically wearing Robson down with a combination of suplexes and submission holds.

Sensing victory, Bumblescoop set up for his finisher. He whipped Robson into the ropes and, as Robson rebounded, lifted him high into the air before slamming him down with the Bumble Blast. The impact echoed through the arena, and the referee dropped to the mat for the count. One, two, three.

The crowd's chatter fell to a hush as the opening notes of Lewis Duckworth's theme music blasted through the speakers, signalling the arrival of one of HCW’s most polarizing figures. The arena lights dimmed, and a spotlight followed Duckworth as he strutted confidently down the ramp, a cocky smirk plastered across his face. Dressed in his leather jacket, emblazoned with his logo on the back, Duckworth oozed arrogance as he made his way to the ring.

As he climbed through the ropes, the fans reacted with a mix of boos and reluctant cheers, acknowledging his undeniable talent even if they despised his attitude. Duckworth raised the microphone to his lips, taking a moment to bask in the reaction before speaking.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” he began, his voice dripping with sarcasm, “welcome to the Duckworth Era of HCW!” The crowd erupted, half in disdain, half in begrudging admiration. Duckworth’s grin widened as he continued, “Last month, I did exactly what I said I would—I put away Cain Carlisle, once and for all. And look where that got him—laid up in a hospital bed, licking his wounds, while I stand here, unscathed, ready to take on all comers.. He no longer matters.”

He paused, letting his words sink in. The mention of Carlisle’s injury drew a wave of boos from the more sympathetic fans, but Duckworth was unfazed. In fact, he seemed to relish it.

“Oh, don’t be so soft,” he mocked, pacing the ring. “In this business, you either step up or you get stepped on. Carlisle? He couldn’t hang with me, and now he’s paying the price. So let that be a warning to anyone else thinking of stepping into this ring with me—be careful, or you might just find yourself sharing a hospital room with poor ol’ Cain.”

The crowd’s disapproval only fuelled him further. Duckworth chuckled, shaking his head as if the fans just didn’t get it. “You see, I’m not just any wrestler—I’m the elite. The top of the food chain. And unlike anyone else in that locker room, I’ve got the skills, the smarts, and the charisma to back it up.”

He gestured toward the merchandise stands in the arena, where shirts and posters bearing his image were on full display. “And if you’re smart,” he continued, “you’ll head over to the stands and pick up some of my merch. Trust me, it’s going to be a collector’s item, because the Duckworth Era is just getting started.”

The crowd roared, some jeering, others intrigued by his bold claims. Duckworth soaked in the reaction, then suddenly shifted gears, his tone growing more serious.

“But enough about that,” he said, stopping in the centre of the ring. “Let’s talk about tonight. Because I’m not just here to talk—I’m here to prove, once again, that I’m the best this company has ever seen. And to do that, I need an opponent. So, I’ve chosen someone who I think could use a little… lesson in humility.”

The anticipation in the arena grew as Duckworth leaned in closer to the microphone. “So, Grant Taypen,” he announced with a smirk, “get ready, because tonight, you’re stepping into my ring. And by the time I’m done with you, you’ll be wishing you never laced up those boots.”

With that, Duckworth dropped the microphone

Grant Taypen VS Lewis Duckworth

When the bell rang, the arena erupted in anticipation as Lewis Duckworth and Grant Taypen locked up in the centre of the ring. From the outset, both competitors made it clear that they were here to put on a show. Duckworth, with his characteristic bravado, initiated the action with a series of sharp strikes and technical maneuvers, aiming to assert his dominance early. His initial attacks were precise, targeting Taypen’s limbs and using his strength to gain an early advantage.

Taypen, however, quickly demonstrated his resilience. After Duckworth’s aggressive start, Taypen responded with a series of fluid counters and high-energy moves. A perfectly executed dropkick from Taypen sent Duckworth sprawling to the mat, and the crowd roared in approval. Taypen capitalized on this momentum with a string of high-flying maneuvers, including a soaring crossbody and a lightning-fast DDT that had Duckworth reeling.

Despite Taypen’s impressive comeback, Duckworth’s experience and tactical acumen came into play. He weathered Taypen’s offense with a mix of counterattacks and strategic holds, including a well-timed German suplex that shifted the momentum back in his favour. Duckworth’s approach was methodical, continuing to target Taypen’s back and legs to weaken his opponent’s base. The crowd’s reaction fluctuated as each wrestler took turns gaining the upper hand, the energy in the arena building with every near-fall and close call.

As the match approached its climax, both competitors showed signs of fatigue but refused to back down. Duckworth, ever the opportunist, saw his chance after narrowly escaping a high-impact maneuver from Taypen. With swift precision, Duckworth executed a brutal backbreaker, driving Taypen hard into the mat. The impact was loud, drawing gasps from the audience as Duckworth kept Taypen pinned with a relentless grip, for a last moment two count.

In a dramatic turn, Duckworth transitioned into his finishing move, the Over-The-Shoulder Backbreaker. He lifted Taypen onto his shoulders, wrenching him back with an excruciating angle that had Taypen writhing in pain. The crowd watched in awe as Taypen struggled but ultimately could not escape the hold. After a tense moment, Taypen was forced to tap out, signalling the end of the match.

Sunday 18th September, 2022
Central Hall, Southampton
Fans In Attendance : 43

The crisp autumn air outside is laced with the quiet promise of something monumental. It’s a cool evening in Southampton, the kind that has just the right bite to remind you that winter is on the horizon, but tonight, the cold is the last thing on anyone’s mind. The grand façade of Central Hall looms against the twilight, its aged stones bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. The sky, ablaze with hues of orange and red, mirrors the anticipation bubbling within the hall’s historic walls.

Inside, the atmosphere is electric. Crew members hustle about, making last-minute adjustments to the ring that stands proud in the centre of the grand hall. The gleam of freshly polished ropes catches the light, a stage set for a night of fierce combat. The crowd is slowly filtering in, the murmur of excitement growing louder with each passing minute. Fans clutch their tickets, eyes wide with anticipation, their breath visible in the cool air as they step inside.

Backstage, wrestlers stretch and prepare, the tension palpable. For some, this is another night to prove their dominance; for others, it’s a chance to carve their name into the annals of wrestling history. The air is thick with the scent of sweat and adrenaline, mingling with the distant echo of the crowd beyond the curtain. Each wrestler knows that tonight, under the grand dome of Central Hall, their fate awaits.

Jeff Amazon VS Ieuan Lloyd

The bell rings, and the crowd erupts into a mix of cheers and jeers, eager to see what Jeff Amazon and Ieuan Lloyd have in store. The two men circle each other cautiously at first, both gauging the other’s movements. Amazon, ever the showman, is the first to strike, lunging forward with a quick lock-up that pushes Lloyd back into the corner. The referee calls for a clean break, and Amazon obliges—only to taunt Lloyd with a smirk as he steps away, drawing a smattering of jeers from the crowd.

Lloyd, not one to be outdone, charges out of the corner with a flurry of strikes, catching Amazon off guard. The crowd rallies behind the underdog as Lloyd takes control, whipping Amazon into the ropes and connecting with a high dropkick that sends Amazon sprawling to the mat. Lloyd follows up with a quick pin attempt, but Amazon kicks out at two, shaking his head as if to say, "Not that easy."

As the match progresses, it becomes clear that while the action is steady, neither man is pulling out anything particularly spectacular. The crowd stays engaged, more invested in the characters than the technical wrestling on display. Amazon, ever the ring general, knows how to work the crowd, and he does so with aplomb. After a brief comeback from Lloyd, Amazon takes control with a big boot that floors his opponent.

Sensing the end is near, Amazon signals to the crowd, drawing them in for the finish. He hoists Lloyd onto his shoulders, parading him around the ring before delivering his signature move, the Amazon Prime. Amazon hooks the leg, and the referee counts the three, the crowd popping for the decisive finish.

Davey Singleton VS Strife

As the bell echoes through the hall, Strife and Davey Singleton square off, both men ready to prove their mettle. The energy in the venue is palpable, the crowd buzzing with anticipation. Strife, known for agility, starts the match cautiously, locking up with Singleton in the centre of the ring. Singleton, the stronger of the two, tries to muscle Strife into the corner, but Strife’s agility allows him to slip free, executing a quick arm drag that sends Singleton to the mat.

The match quickly finds its rhythm, with Strife using his speed to keep Singleton off balance. Singleton, determined to ground his quicker opponent, eventually catches Strife in a powerful side headlock, wrenching it in tight. Strife struggles for a moment before using the ropes to build momentum, bouncing off and pushing Singleton into the opposite side of the ring. Singleton comes back with a shoulder block that sends Strife crashing to the mat, much to the crowd's delight.

Singleton takes control, methodically wearing down Strife with a series of suplexes and power moves. The crowd gets behind the underdog Strife, clapping and chanting as he fights his way back to his feet. Singleton attempts a big clothesline, but Strife ducks under and counters with a springboard back elbow, catching Singleton off guard. The pace picks up as Strife begins to rally, delivering a series of lightning-fast kicks and strikes that force Singleton into the corner.

Sensing the shift in momentum, Strife climbs to the top rope, the crowd rising to their feet in anticipation. With a quick glance back, Strife launches himself into the air, twisting his body in a Corkscrew Moonsault. He crashes down onto Singleton, hooking the leg for the pin. The referee’s hand hits the mat for the third time, and the bell rings, signalling Strife’s victory.

The lights in Central Hall dim as the ominous music hits, signalling the arrival of Lewis Duckworth. The crowd’s reaction is immediate—a chorus of boos that reverberates through the venue. Duckworth emerges from behind the curtain, his face a mask of seriousness, his usual smirk nowhere to be seen. He strides to the ring with purpose, ignoring the jeers and taunts hurled his way.

Climbing through the ropes, Duckworth grabs a microphone and stands in the centre of the ring, waiting for the crowd to quiet down. The boos only intensify, but Duckworth remains unfazed, bringing the mic to his lips as he speaks.

“I know you all want to see me fail,” Duckworth begins, his voice cold and measured. The crowd responds with more boos, a few fans even starting a “You suck!” chant. Duckworth pauses, allowing the noise to die down before continuing. “But I don’t care what any of you think. You see, I’ve been focused—too focused—on making Cain Carlisle irrelevant. So much so that I forgot about the other person who wronged me.”

The crowd is still vocal, but there’s a shift in their energy as they begin to listen more closely. Duckworth’s tone sharpens, his eyes narrowing as he speaks with more intensity.

“When I first showed up here back in April,” Duckworth says, “I was like a deer caught in the headlights. The bright lights, the crowd, the spectacle of it all—it got to me. I was flustered, distracted… even a little starstruck. I wasn’t myself. And someone took advantage of that.”

The crowd, sensing where this is heading, starts chanting Chuck Frisby’s name. Duckworth’s expression darkens at the sound of Frisby’s name, and he quickly cuts the crowd off.

“Shut up!” Duckworth snaps, the boos raining down on him again. “That’s right—Chuck Frisby! The so-called ‘fitness fanatic.’ The man who got a cheap win over me when I wasn’t at my best. But I haven’t forgotten, Chuck. And I’m not letting that stain stay on my record. I plan to erase the red from my ledger tonight.”

The crowd is fully engaged now, chanting “Frisby! Frisby!” even louder, fuelling Duckworth’s anger. He paces the ring, glaring out at the fans before stopping to deliver his final message.

“Tonight, Chuck Frisby is going to find out exactly who Lewis Duckworth is. No more distractions. No more excuses. I’m going to destroy him in this ring, and when I’m done, there won’t be anything left of Chuck Frisby except for the memory of how I made him irrelevant. Just like I did to Carlisle.”

Chuck Frisby VS Lewis Duckworth

As Lewis Duckworth's words still linger in the air, the tension in Central Hall is palpable. The crowd, already fired up from Duckworth’s fiery promo, explodes in anticipation as Chuck Frisby’s music hits. Frisby charges to the ring, determined to defend his honour and prove that his previous victory over Duckworth was no fluke. Duckworth, already inside the ring, watches Frisby approach with a steely resolve.

The bell rings, and the two men immediately lock up in the centre of the ring. Duckworth’s aggression is evident from the start, using his size and strength to gain the upper hand. He pushes Frisby into the corner, delivering a series of hard chops to the chest, each one echoing through the hall. Frisby winces but fires back with a flurry of punches, trying to mount a comeback. The crowd rallies behind Frisby, chanting his name, but Duckworth quickly shuts him down with a knee to the gut, followed by a vicious suplex.

Duckworth methodically picks apart Frisby, targeting his back with precision strikes and submissions, softening him up for the inevitable. Frisby gets a few hope spots, countering with a dropkick and a near-fall after a sunset flip, but Duckworth stays in control. The crowd tries to will Frisby back into the match, but Duckworth’s focus never wavers.

After a hard-fought battle, Duckworth signals for the end. He hoists Frisby up onto his shoulders, locking in the Over-The-Shoulder Backbreaker. Frisby struggles, reaching out desperately for the ropes, but Duckworth applies even more pressure, bending Frisby’s spine in a painful arc. The crowd chants for Frisby to fight out, but it’s no use. Frisby has no choice but to tap out, the pain too much to bear.

The referee calls for the bell, and Duckworth releases the hold, standing tall as the victor. The crowd boos, but Duckworth doesn’t care. He’s made his point, and Frisby’s defeat is the exclamation mark on his earlier statement. Duckworth exits the ring, his mission accomplished, while Frisby is left to recover, the bitter taste of defeat lingering as Duckworth marches up the ramp, focused and unshaken.

Grant Taypen VS Mickey Robson

With the energy in Central Hall already at a high, the crowd eagerly anticipates the next match as the bell rings for the fourth bout of the night. Grant Taypen and Mickey Robson stand across the ring from each other, both men poised and ready for a technical showcase. The crowd murmurs with anticipation, knowing they’re about to witness two of the most skilled wrestlers on the roster go head-to-head.

From the outset, the match is a clinic in mat wrestling. Taypen and Robson lock up in the centre of the ring, and immediately, it’s clear that both men are out to prove their technical superiority. The opening moments see a series of chain wrestling exchanges, with both men countering and reversing holds, each trying to outmaneuver the other. The crowd watches intently, appreciating the skill on display.

Taypen starts to gain the upper hand with his precision targeting of Robson’s arm. He expertly transitions from holds to strikes, each move designed to wear down Robson’s limb and set up for his devastating Single Arm DDT. Robson, however, isn’t just a passenger in this match. He fights back valiantly, using his speed and agility to escape Taypen’s grasp and deliver a series of quick, high-impact moves that leave the crowd buzzing.

As the match progresses, the pace picks up, and the crowd responds with enthusiasm. Robson hits a beautiful springboard dropkick that nearly gets him the win, but Taypen kicks out at the last second, showing his resilience. The momentum shifts back and forth, with each man coming close to victory, only for the other to narrowly escape defeat. The tension builds as the match nears its conclusion, the crowd fully invested in every near-fall and reversal.

In the final moments, Robson looks to capitalize on a moment of hesitation from Taypen, but Taypen is quick to counter. With a swift move, he catches Robson off guard and locks him into a hammerlock. Before Robson can react, Taypen drives him headfirst into the mat with a brutal Single Arm DDT. The impact is thunderous, and Taypen immediately goes for the cover. The referee counts the three, and the bell rings, signalling Taypen’s hard-earned victory.

Augustus Bumblescoop VS Marcus Young

As the night draws to a close, the anticipation in Central Hall reaches its peak for the main event. The crowd, buzzing from the previous matches, grows even more animated as the ring announcer introduces the final bout of the evening. Augustus Bumblescoop, the eccentric yet skilled entertainer, steps through the curtain, his trademark mime act and unorthodox style drawing cheers. Marcus Young, a rookie competitor with a no-nonsense attitude, follows shortly after, his eyes locked on Bumblescoop, the determination evident on his face.

The bell rings, and the two competitors circle each other, the atmosphere thick with anticipation. Both men know the stakes; this is their chance to steal the show, to leave the audience talking about their match long after the night ends. Bumblescoop, with his quirky demeanour, tries to get into Young’s head early, taunting him with exaggerated gestures and playful jabs. But Young remains focused, his expression unchanging as he locks up with Bumblescoop, determined to keep things serious.

The opening moments are a back-and-forth affair, with each man trying to establish dominance. Bumblescoop, used his agility and unpredictable movements to keep Young off balance. He ducks and weaves, avoiding Young’s strikes while landing quick, stinging blows of his own. Young, however, is no slouch. He quickly adapts, using his power advantage to ground Bumblescoop with a series of suplexes and slams that rattle the ring.

The match transitions into a showcase of both men’s strengths. Bumblescoop, always a step ahead, keeps the pace fast and frenetic, relying on his speed and creativity to stay in control. At one point, he executes a springboard moonsault off the middle rope, catching Young off guard and earning a close two-count. The crowd gasps, impressed by the high-risk maneuver. But Young refuses to be outdone, his resilience shining through as he powers out of pin attempts and counters Bumblescoop’s more flamboyant offense with hard-hitting strikes and methodical grapples.

As the match progresses, the momentum shifts several times, with each man coming close to victory. Bumblescoop goes for his signature maneuver, the “Bumble Bomb,” but Young counters it into a spinebuster that shakes the ring. The crowd, fully engaged, counts along with the referee, but Bumblescoop kicks out just before the three-count. Young, visibly frustrated but undeterred, pulls Bumblescoop up and attempts to set him up for his finishing move, but Bumblescoop wriggles free, using his speed to escape.

In the final moments, the intensity reaches a fever pitch. Both men are visibly exhausted, yet neither is willing to back down. Young, sensing victory, goes for a high-impact move from the top rope, but Bumblescoop rolls out of the way at the last second, leaving Young to crash hard onto the mat. Seizing the opportunity, Bumblescoop quickly regains his footing, his eyes narrowing with determination.

With the crowd on the edge of their seats, Bumblescoop finally connects with the “Bumble Blast,”. The impact is enough to leave Young dazed and down for the count. Bumblescoop wastes no time, hooking the leg for the pinfall. The referee’s hand hits the mat three times, and the bell rings, signalling Bumblescoop’s victory.

Sunday 16th October, 2022
New Milton Memorial Centre, New Milton
Fans In Attendance : 43

The sound of rain pattering against the windows of the New Milton Memorial Centre sets the mood for the evening. It’s a typical October Sunday, with a steady downpour that has soaked the streets and left puddles glistening under the dim streetlights. Inside the venue, the atmosphere is a stark contrast to the dreary weather outside. The lights are bright, and there’s an electric buzz in the air as the crew makes final preparations for the night’s event.

Backstage, wrestlers go through their routines, each one focused on the task ahead. The makeshift locker rooms are a hive of activity, with the low hum of conversations and the occasional burst of laughter breaking through the tension. Some performers sit quietly, headphones on, mentally preparing for their matches. Others stretch or run through their entrance routines, fine-tuning every detail to make sure they hit their marks perfectly when the time comes.

In one corner, the veteran performers exchange words of encouragement, their experience evident in the calmness they exude. They’ve been through nights like this countless times, and they know how to channel the energy of the crowd, even on a rainy, sombre evening. Nearby, younger wrestlers, still fresh to the scene, nervously lace up their boots, glancing around the room for reassurance.

The ring crew works efficiently, making sure the ropes are tight and the mat is secured. The ring itself is a symbol of anticipation, waiting to be filled with the night’s drama and spectacle. The echoes of tests on the PA system, punctuated by the booming bass, reverberate through the hall, signalling that showtime is approaching.

In a cramped hallway just outside the locker rooms, Strife and Aurelian Bradley are locked in a heated argument, their voices echoing off the concrete walls.

Strife, known for his usually laidback party demeanour, stands chest to chest with Aurelian Bradley, his eyes blazing with fury. His fists are clenched at his sides, and every muscle in his body is tense, ready to spring. Aurelian, not one to back down, meets Strife’s glare with equal intensity, his jaw set and his hands gesturing sharply as he makes his point. The two men are practically nose to nose, the air between them crackling with aggression.

“You think you can just walk all over me?!” Strife snarls, his voice low but dripping with venom. “You’ve been pushing your luck for too long, Bradley. I’ve had enough!”

Aurelian smirks, his cool demeanour a stark contrast to Strife’s fiery anger. “Pushing my luck? You’re the one who’s been running your mouth and biting off more than you can chew. Maybe it’s time someone put you in your place.”

The tension in the air is palpable, and it doesn’t take long for other wrestlers in the area to notice the confrontation. A few of them, realizing things are about to escalate, start to edge closer, ready to intervene if necessary.

Strife takes a step forward, pressing his chest against Aurelian’s, his voice rising. “You think you’re better than me? You’re nothing, Bradley! I’ll tear you apart right here if you keep this up.”

Aurelian’s smirk fades, replaced by a glare as he steps forward to match Strife’s aggression. “You want to try? Go ahead. But don’t think for a second that I’ll go down easy. You’ll regret this, Strife.”

The argument reaches a boiling point, and it looks like fists are about to fly. Just as Strife pulls back, ready to strike, a group of wrestlers rushes in to separate the two. It takes several men to hold Strife back as he struggles against them, still shouting at Aurelian.

“You’re a dead man, Bradley! You hear me?!”

Aurelian, held back by another group of wrestlers, just sneers, his eyes locked on Strife. “Anytime, anywhere, Strife. I’m ready.”

The wrestlers, sensing that this situation could spiral out of control, work quickly to pull the two apart. They drag Strife down one hallway, trying to calm him down, while Aurelian is escorted in the opposite direction, still staring daggers at his rival.

The atmosphere in the New Milton Memorial Centre is electric, with the crowd buzzing in anticipation. Both wrestlers circle each other in the ring, their eyes locked in a fierce stare, before they engage in a collar-and-elbow tie-up.

Kaden, using his size and strength advantage, quickly takes control, forcing Mickey into the corner. The referee steps in to break it up, and as Kaden steps back, he taunts the crowd, eliciting a chorus of boos. Mickey, ever the scrapper, uses the moment to his advantage, darting out of the corner and catching Kaden off guard with a series of lightning-fast forearm strikes.

The pace quickens as Mickey whips Kaden into the ropes and catches him with a dropkick on the rebound, sending the larger man crashing to the mat. Mickey stays on the attack, delivering a sequence of quick, targeted strikes, working to keep Kaden grounded. However, Kaden’s resilience shows as he battles back, catching Mickey with a hard-hitting spinebuster that shakes the ring.

For the next few minutes, Kaden dominates the match, using his power to wear Mickey down with suplexes and punishing holds. The crowd rallies behind Mickey, willing him to fight back, and he responds with a burst of energy, reversing an attempted powerbomb into a hurricanrana that sends Kaden sprawling.

Sensing a shift in momentum, Mickey capitalizes with a flurry of offense, including a beautiful enzuigiri that staggers Kaden. Mickey then signals to the crowd, who roar in approval as he lifts Kaden onto his shoulders. With a surge of adrenaline, Mickey executes a picture-perfect Package Piledriver, driving Kaden’s head into the mat with devastating force.

The referee slides into position as Mickey covers Kaden, the crowd counting along with every slap of the mat—one, two, three!

Jeff Amazon VS Strife

The bell rings, and Strife and Jeff Amazon waste no time locking up in the centre of the ring. The tension between these two is palpable, with the crowd eagerly anticipating the action. Jeff Amazon, with his superior size and power, immediately tries to overpower Strife, pushing him back into the ropes. Strife, ever the agile technician, quickly ducks under Jeff's grasp, slipping behind him and delivering a sharp kick to the back of Jeff's knee.

Jeff stumbles but quickly turns, swinging wildly at Strife, who deftly dodges the attack and counters with a series of rapid strikes to Jeff's midsection. The crowd starts to get behind Strife, appreciating his speed and precision as he begins to chip away at Jeff’s defences. Strife bounces off the ropes, looking to build momentum, but Jeff catches him with a thunderous clothesline that nearly turns him inside out.

Jeff seizes control of the match, using his strength to keep Strife grounded. He delivers a series of punishing body slams, each one driving the air out of Strife’s lungs and shaking the ring. Jeff then hoists Strife up for a stalling suplex, holding him in the air to show off his power before crashing him down to the mat. The referee drops for the count, but Strife kicks out at two, showing his resilience.

The crowd rallies behind Strife as he struggles to his feet, and Jeff looks to put him away with a big power move. Jeff lifts Strife for a powerbomb, but Strife counters mid-air, twisting out of Jeff’s grasp and landing on his feet. In a flash, Strife unloads with a series of kicks, each one connecting with Jeff’s ribs and legs, forcing the big man to one knee.

Sensing his opportunity, Strife scales the turnbuckle as the crowd rises to their feet. With Jeff dazed in the centre of the ring, Strife launches himself into the air, performing a flawless Corkscrew Moonsault. He crashes down onto Jeff, the impact echoing through the arena as he hooks the leg for the cover.

The referee counts—one, two, three! The bell rings, and Strife is declared the winner. The crowd erupts in cheers as Strife gets to his feet, celebrating his hard-earned victory with a mix of relief and triumph.

Bryn Archer VS Gazz Vedmore

The bell rings, signalling the start of what promises to be an intense encounter between Bryn Archer and Gazz Vedmore. Both competitors circle each other in the ring, each looking for an opening. Gazz, known for his brawling style, lunges forward first, attempting to take control early with a quick jab. Bryn sidesteps, using his agility to avoid the strike, and counters with a swift kick to Gazz’s thigh.

The two exchange holds and counters, with Bryn demonstrating his technical prowess by outmanoeuvring Gazz in the early going. Gazz, undeterred, changes tactics, pushing Bryn into the corner and unloading with a series of heavy punches and chops. The crowd reacts with a mix of cheers and boos as Gazz’s strikes echo through the arena, but Bryn absorbs the punishment and retaliates with a well-placed elbow to Gazz’s jaw, forcing him to back off.

Bryn takes advantage, whipping Gazz into the opposite corner and charging after him with a high knee to the face. Gazz stumbles out of the corner, dazed, and Bryn capitalizes with a snap suplex, showcasing his impressive strength. He quickly goes for the cover, but Gazz kicks out at two, showing his resilience.

As the match progresses, Gazz manages to turn the tide with a brutal clothesline that nearly takes Bryn’s head off. With Bryn on the mat, Gazz starts to wear him down with a series of stomps and a big elbow drop to the chest. Gazz pulls Bryn up and sets him up for a suplex, but Bryn blocks it and reverses into a roll-up pin. The referee counts, but Gazz escapes at the last moment, both men quickly getting back to their feet.

The intensity ramps up as they trade blows in the centre of the ring, with the crowd firmly behind Bryn. Gazz attempts to deliver a devastating DDT, but Bryn slips out and hits a spinning back kick to Gazz’s midsection. The force of the kick leaves Gazz winded, and Bryn seizes the moment.

Bryn bounces off the ropes, gathering momentum as he charges towards Gazz, who is still reeling from the kick. With precision timing, Bryn launches himself into a devastating Spinning Elbow Strike, connecting flush with Gazz’s jaw. The impact is thunderous, and Gazz crumples to the mat.

Bryn quickly drops down and hooks the leg for the cover. The referee counts—one, two, three!

The lights in the arena dim slightly as Lewis Duckworth's theme music hits, and the crowd erupts into a chorus of boos. Unfazed, Duckworth strides down the ramp with his usual swagger, exuding confidence and arrogance in every step. Dressed in his signature black and gold gear, he takes his time, soaking in the hostile atmosphere as he approaches the ring. He climbs the steel steps and enters through the ropes, immediately demanding a microphone.

The boos intensify as Duckworth raises the microphone to his lips, a smug grin spreading across his face.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Duckworth begins, his voice dripping with condescension, "last month, I did exactly what I said I would do. I righted my wrong, and I proved that there's nobody—absolutely nobody—in this company who can stop me."

The crowd continues to jeer, but Duckworth seems to feed off the negativity. He paces the ring, letting the tension build before continuing.

"But that's all in the past," he says, waving his hand dismissively. "Tonight, I'm looking forward. You see, I've got my eyes set on something much bigger, something that will finally put me where I belong—at the top of this company."

The crowd's boos begin to wane as curiosity takes over. Duckworth senses this shift and smirks, knowing he's got their attention.

"In the first show of 2023, the HCW Championship will finally be crowned," Duckworth declares, pausing to let the significance of his words sink in. "And let me tell you right now, that belt is going to be mine."

The crowd erupts again, but Duckworth isn't finished. He leans against the ropes, staring out at the sea of fans with a look of determination.

"I've already proven that I can outsmart and outwrestle anyone who steps in my way," Duckworth continues. "But tonight, I’m going to cement my intentions. Tonight, I’m going to make sure that everyone, including that so-called 'competition,' understands just how serious I am."

Duckworth straightens up, his expression turning cold and focused. "And to do that, I'm going to take on the man who fancies himself a contender, the one and only, Augustus Bumblescoop!"

The mention of Bumblescoop's name draws a mixed reaction from the crowd, but Duckworth doesn’t flinch.

"I’m not just going to beat him," Duckworth says, his voice lowering with intensity. "I’m going to dismantle him, piece by piece, until there’s no doubt left in anyone’s mind that Lewis Duckworth is the true HCW Champion."

With that, Duckworth drops the microphone, his message delivered. His music hits once more as the challenge has been laid down, and everyone knows that when Duckworth speaks, he backs it up.

Augustus Bumblescoop VS Lewis Duckworth

As the tension in the arena reached a boiling point, Lewis Duckworth stood in the centre of the ring, his eyes locked on the entrance ramp. The crowd's mixed reactions reverberated through the venue as Augustus Bumblescoop's entrance music blared through the speakers. Bumblescoop emerged, his signature high-energy persona on full display, but there was an underlying intensity to his demeanour, knowing he had a point to prove against the self-assured Duckworth.

The bell rang, and the match was underway. The two competitors circled each other, the air thick with anticipation. Duckworth, ever the strategist, moved in first, looking to lock up, but Bumblescoop was quick to evade, using his agility to sidestep and deliver a sharp kick to Duckworth's thigh. Duckworth smirked, nodding in acknowledgment before the two locked up in the center of the ring.

The early minutes of the match saw a back-and-forth display of technical prowess, with both men exchanging holds and counters. Bumblescoop's speed and athleticism kept Duckworth on his toes, while Duckworth's calculated offense aimed to slow down the pace, grounding his opponent with precision strikes and submission holds. The crowd was fully engaged, reacting to each near-fall and reversal.

As the match progressed, Duckworth began to assert control. He targeted Bumblescoop's back, slamming him into the turnbuckles and driving his knees into the lower spine. Duckworth's methodical offense began to wear down Bumblescoop, who struggled to regain momentum. However, Bumblescoop dug deep, feeding off the crowd's energy, and mounted a comeback.

Bumblescoop unleashed a flurry of strikes, stunning Duckworth with a series of chops and forearms. He whipped Duckworth into the ropes and connected with a high-impact dropkick, sending Duckworth crashing to the mat. The crowd erupted as Bumblescoop signalled for his signature move, the Bumble Blast. He hoisted Duckworth onto his shoulders, but Duckworth, ever the tactician, wriggled free, slipping behind Bumblescoop and shoving him into the ropes.

As Bumblescoop rebounded, Duckworth caught him off-guard with a vicious clothesline, nearly decapitating him. With Bumblescoop dazed, Duckworth seized the opportunity. He lifted Bumblescoop onto his shoulders and locked in the Over-The-Shoulder Backbreaker, wrenching Bumblescoop’s spine with ruthless precision.

Bumblescoop struggled, refusing to submit, but the pain was too much. Duckworth applied even more pressure, his eyes gleaming with determination. Finally, with no escape in sight, Bumblescoop tapped out, and the referee called for the bell.

Duckworth released the hold, standing tall over his fallen opponent as the crowd offered a mix of boos and begrudging applause. He raised his arms in victory, a triumphant grin on his face, knowing that he had not only won the match but had also sent a clear message to everyone in the locker room.
