PGHW: Marching Down The Royal Road

PGHW: Marching Down The Royal Road - Year 2

Having finally taken the crown from Burning Hammer as Japan's top promotion under the leadership of Yoshimi Mushashibo, Pride Glory Honor Wrestling's position is by no means safe. With Burning Hammer getting bought by Reverie they will immediately have more eyes on their product than ever, forcing PGHW's roster to perform at their absolute best every night if they want to have any chance at staying as the #4 Promotion on the planet.

With multiple former Burning Hammer stars laying siege to PGHW, and many mainstays who have helped PGHW get as far as they have post-Pillars starting to age out, these next few years will be make or break for the promotion, but if they can ride the storm out they may come out the other side as genuine contenders to be the kings of Wrestling, not just in Japan, but across the planet.

Reverie's wrestling war that has seen it poach stars from around the world and lay waste to SWF and TCW, the former leaders in American wrestling, has finally reached the shores of Japan, but as long as the Royal Road remains walkable, the path forward remains clear. No matter who encroaches, PGHW will continue to put on great matches for their rapidly growing fanbase, both at home and abroad, and like always,

This is a story of Pride

This is a story of Glory

This is a story of Honor

This is a story of Wrestling
2022's Introduction For over half a century, usurping the Wrestling Gods' control over Japanese Wrestling has seemed like a Sisyphean task. Their Burning Hammer has slain Golden Tigers, it has destroyed Warrior Engines, it has shaken Worlds, but it has never broken Pride. Now, as the Gods are at their weakest point in over half a century, one of the greatest warriors to ever defy their control returns to wrestling to finally take the thrown from Titans in Tokyo.

Formerly the 2nd post, just archiving it here because I'd like to see how it started in case I forget.

image.png.baf4d8e200d643defda50c778d331e97.png

This is not a lore post, I just wanted to do another Yoshimi Tweet because I still had the tab open.  Welcome to my first Dynasty for TEW9! I was originally thinking about doing a TCW dynasty but after seeing three posted, and the lack of attention PGHW was getting this go around, I decided to go with my 2nd most played company in TEW2020.  So, just a few house keeping things I guess. I still haven't bought the full game, I'm just waiting to get paid so hopefully by Thursday I'll be able to. Thankfully Puro schedules are dense enough that I doubt I'll make it to March before I get paid, especially if I'm doing the Dynasty stuff alongside it. If I do, oops. Hopefully a few days wait won't be a major issue with you guys. Also, I'm a fun before legitimacy player, so if I think of something that involves using the editor (examples: removing a wrestler's loyalty, shortening a contract the game randomly gave out at the start) I will have no qualms doing so. I'll make sure not to go over the top with it though. Also, because Yoshimi is rich, and one of the most famous people in Japan, I'm going to assume he brought some investments when buying the company. I'm not going to do something insane like give PGHW 10 million dollars or something like that, but maybe enough for a decent performance centre. Also, I intend on doing some stuff different from vanilla PGHW, but stuff that's a bit closer to IRL Puro. There will be stables and managers, and I may decide to introduce a Junior's division if I feel like it could help me enjoy the game a bit more. Other than that, who knows? I'll try and get the first real story post out tomorrow, but no guarantees since I have some other things to work on. Next post is going to be a placeholder for thing like stables and a table of contents for me to link my future posts. I really want to try and challenge myself to keep this going for awhile, and as much as I doubt that I'm going to be able to, I'm going to try.

This looks interesting- one piece of advice, though, I'd put the previous dynasty champions after the pics rather than before- as it stands the pictures are closer to the next title down and it's a little confusing.

Updates before the Respect Tour, January 2022

Roster:

Along with Cub Balowicz & Pavel Vanzycha, some other major stars were brought in for the Respect Tour in January.

image.jpeg.2a88488dac5b4b9ecc99244025f8343d.jpegimage.jpeg.277be0e6c1ec3aa01ecda764942d6171.jpegimage.jpeg.420cdd0b7290a51c43dc71e00e3b0612.jpegimage.jpeg.051685be2bc77c3b2e27ecf9e001d355.jpegimage.jpeg.f6e98cd239cea692f7b184e49ed6589f.jpeg

"The Greek Punisher", Cesar Sionis. A very large, very scary Greek/Australian man who makes up for his lack of Star Quality with solid Puro skills. Works for DIW.

Shogo. A Japanese/Australian worker with skills that go toe-to-toe with some of PGHW's best. Works for DIW.

"The Tongan Pit Bull", Tevita Takulua. A Tongan wrestler based out of Australia, lacking in skills, but being just 2 years in his career, he makes up for it in Potential. Works for DIW.

"The Hammer", Scott Hadley. A young American worker with great potential. Free Agent.

Walker van Cleer. A bright Dutch talent from PGHW's European Partners, his great technical ability should fit right at home with the roster. Works for VWA.

image.jpeg.ac19ec1df89cba0cc4b7705c42108597.jpegimage.jpeg.cbc228b8377a8994d9dd30eaa44b7956.jpeg

Along with these four, Taheiji Konoe has been brought in on an Exclusive Written Contract, while details such as how long the contract is for haven't been revealed, The Animal is finally getting a permanent home for the first time since the death of Warrior Engine in 2016. Mitsunari Fugunaga is also being brought in on a short term, 3 month deal, with rumors that the aging Freelancer may even take part in the Elite Series.

Stables:

image.png.108e33a36e08e2dbf2f40623b80dee8b.png

In a historic move spurred on from this Tweet, future TCW Hall Of Famer Wolf Hawkins & and PGHW Star Magnum Kobe made the joint announcement of the expansion of The Syndicate into Japan. Outside of Kobe's involvement, and an endorsement from Wolf Hawkins, no one knows the specifics of The Syndicate Japan, but expect to see Magnum Kobe makes some moves over the next few months before the Elite Series in March.

Company Relationships:

PGHW/TCW - Expanded from Excursions to outwardly friendly interactions and Talent Trading

PGHW/VWA - Expanded from Excursions to outwardly friendly interactions

PGHW/DIW - Excursion Deal signed

-Editor's Note-

So if you're actually reading these I just want you to know I really appreciate it! If it isn't obvious from the past two notes, I'm taking a bit (lots) of inspiration from Arlovski's excellent dynasty from last year, Black Canvas Grappling | REAL Canvas Grappling [CV 2020]. I don't have HTML access so I'm currently using Canva to make these images. Anyway, for people who've been reading dynasty's a lot longer than I have (and potentially even people who've made them, if you'd be willing), do you have any thoughts on how I'm currently doing the layout for this. I like the formatting but as the writer I'm going to be a bit biased so would love some outside perspective on it.

Pre-Tour notes for the Destiny Tour should be out tomorrow, will have a new crop of wrestlers on tour.

Updates before the Destiny Tour, February 2022

Roster:

There were no returning touring wrestlers from the Respect Tour, but various wrestlers from 5.5 (SNP counts as half a wrestling promotion and half a Ponzi Scheme) Companies across 3 Continents where brought in.

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

"The Assassin Of The Squared Circle" Ernest Youngman. A technical wrestling master from the U.S. with a championship pedigree, winning multiple championships in his home promotion. If he impresses on this tour, don't be surprised if you see him appear a lot more in the future. Works for PSW.

"Big" Papa Swoll. An American wrestler who, unlike Ernest, Swoll lacks technical skills, but with a championship pedigree of his own (current GSW West Coast Champion), incredible star quality, and the presence of a star, there's hope that his short tour with PGHW could be the start of a great relationship. Works for GSW.

"Paddy" Padraig O'Hearne. A great Irish technical wrestler who currently wrestles in North England & Scotland. Just like the other two, he has a history of winning titles in one of his home promotions. Works for SNP & CWW.

"The Brewin' Storm" Lenny Mochin. An English wrestler coming out of one of the same promotions that Padraig O'Hearne works for, Lenny is maybe one of the few wrestlers on Earth capable of keeping up with Ernest Youngman. He's won his own companies equivalent of the Elite Series twice. Works for CWW.

"Sugar Daddy" Lerone Slim. One of the first Kiwi wrestlers to ever make it to a major company outside of Oceania, Lerone Slim has set his home promotion on fire in his short career so far. He's another worker with incredible technical skills. Has won the ZEN Harmony title. Works for Zen.

"The Annihilator" Reggie Tate. A former Rugby Star from Australia, his technical skills are closer to Papa Swoll than the other four wrestlers, but his size, star quality, and title winning history put him in a similar class to the rest of the wrestlers on tour. Works for APW.

Stables:

image.jpegimage.jpeg
In the time between Night of RESPECT and the start of the Destiny Tour, Reaver has started bringing in the Non-Japanese wrestlers in PGHW into an alliance called "Ultimate Wrestlers United". So far, he's brought in his tag partner Simon Flemmingway, young star Matt Blackburn, and PGHW mainstay William Hayes. The other Non-Japanese wrestlers have either yet to address the growing faction (Dean Waldorf & Marv Statler) or declined to join (Danny Cavanagh). None of the touring wrestlers have addressed whether or not they'll be joining the group.

Company Relations:

TCW has ended the Excursion agreement with PGHW, but has not stopped the talent trading or friendly relationship.

While no official deal has been written up, higher ups from PGHW and EXODUS have been positively talking about each other.

Random News from Other Companies:

image.jpegimage.jpegDark Wing has walked out of WLW and joined BHOTWG. This led to WLW's Show Stealer title being vacated, and it was later won by Shogun Watoga.

image.jpegimage.jpegKiller Kass is leaving USPW and rumors state that she will be joining 5SPW on a non-touring contract. No statements have come out on whether or not she will be joining any other promotion with women's wrestling.

image.jpegimage.jpegSamson Sharpe, Hoss Handley, Bryan Jewitt, Warwick Good, and Rocky Weatherfield have all been called up from RIPW to SWF's main roster.

image.jpegEdd Stone has lost the CWA World Championship to Christian Price.

image.jpegMitchell Aldred has won his second Rip Chord Invitational Challenge in the same amount of years in MAW.

During the Respect Tour, Magnum Kobe seems to have done a big favor for his former t-shirt wearing faction member

image.png

Rough translation: Thank you Magnum Kobe for the new coat

This, unsurprisingly, led to a response from his former tag partner, Shozo Furuta, who has recently returned from his injury he suffered after Shinji's brutal betrayal.

Rough translation: Not only have you broken my heart, but now you look like a Peacock.

How this situation escalates, or if famous Peacock-themed wrestler El Pavo Real defends the honour of his species is up in the air.

Roster Update: Between Night 6 of the tour and Night of Destiny, PGHW made two massive signings.

image.jpegimage.jpeg

First, Shogun Watoga would walk out of WLW while holding the World Level Show Steeler championship, the same title Dark Wing had when he walked out just a month before. PGHW quickly signed him to an exclusive written deal, an act that many think is a response to BHOTWG's signing of Dark Wing. No matter the reasoning, losing two bright stars holding their secondary championship seems like a very bad sign for WLW. Rumors are that he will debut after the Elite Series, with many expecting him to be a major part of the Fortitude Tour in April.

Secondly, Kyoshi Muraguchi (formerly MYSTIC Dragon), four time BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Champion, one time Best Of The Super Juniors winner, and son of the original Elemental, has shocked the Japanese Wrestling World by signing with PGHW after getting two similar offers from both companies. Significantly smaller than most of the roster, no one knows exactly how the company plans on using him, but with the success of the smaller Magnum Kobe in the company (who still has 3 inches and 20 pounds on Kyoshi), most have high hopes for him. Chances are, he'll slot in near the top of the card immediately. His contract won't officially begin until March 18th, meaning he will miss the Elite Series, but expectations are that he will at least debut at Night of PRIDE next month.

Along with these two signings, many people are thinking that the company has started hinting at some of the outside stars they are bringing in for the Elite Series, with Yoshimi Mushashibo mysteriously posting a jpg of a wolf on social media, and WLW Owner Kaneie Komine stating in an interview that he would "love for WLW to have some involvement" in the tournament. With this statement being made after the Shogun Watoga signing, it seems that the signing won't have any hostile effect between the two companies (editor's note, Elite Series information will be posted either at the same time, or soon after the Night of Destiny post)

Rough Translation: Wow!

-Editor's Note-

I am still experimenting with the layout of these, and when I get to the Elite Series I may temporarily not use them. I'll see, thankfully I'm still so early on into this that I think I have room to experiment some.

Another TEW, another few years of pushing Magnum Kobe to the moon. From Lucharesu Mainstay to Emperor of Royal Puroresu.

In case you were wondering, I am headcanoning that the Mushashibo Money is able to get random 1980s songs for Magnum Kobe at events. For this one, he came out to Love My Way by The Psychedelic Furs, if I remember, you will be getting this update for every event he's champion at.

I have HTML access now but after the Elite Series I'm probably gonna stick with Canva for a bit just because I have all the templates made and it works for extra story stuff like articles and interviews. Also makes it a lot easier to archive everything since I'm having to save them as images anyway.

Updates before the Pride Tour and Elite Series, March 2022

Roster:

No one from previous tours is returning in March, but three wrestlers have been brought in on tour, and one through a talent trade for participation in the Elite Series

image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

"Phenomenal" Ed Larkins. A former mainstay of Burning Hammer's Junior Heavyweight division for over a decade as Red Panther, and one of 4C's biggest stars when he worked with the company, this Canadian wrestler will enter the Elite Series with a massive size disadvantage, but his unique style could pose a threat to many PGHW mainstays who aren't used to facing high flying junior heavyweights. A 3 time BHOTWG's Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion with American Optimus, a 1 time 4C Tag Team Champion with Duberry Express, and a 2 time 4C Hardcore Champion, his low expectations for points in the Elite Series shouldn't take away from the great matches he'll hopefully be a part of. Free Agent.

"Roaring Lion" Yoshinaka Taku. A Japanese Wrestler brought in solely as part of the Elite Series, this is less of a tour and more visiting the neighbors, considering BCG and PGHW share a home region. This second generation star, son of Japanese Wrestling journeyman (and PGHW alumni) Toshinobu Taku has arguably already outshined his father in his 11 years in this business. He's won the BCG Tag Team Championship twice with his father, and is a 1 time holder of the BCG Challenger Series Championship. Able to match most of PGHW's roster in size, and arguably exceeding a lot of them in skill, Yoshinaka Taku is considered a dark horse for success in the tournament, and, with PGHW making overtures at bringing his dad in as a road agent, many are wondering if they are potentially angling for a massive defection in the future. Works for BCG.

"The Future Of WLW" Masa Kurata. World Level Wrestling's biggest star, leader of their PROGRESS faction, and their heir to wrestlers like current BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Champion Emerald Angel and current PGHW Glory Crown Champion Magnum Kobe, Masa Kurata had a lot of weight put on his shoulders after the Yakuza Scandal rocked the company, and to say that he's failed to hold that weight would be a lie. Considered one of the best talkers in Japan, with incredible technical wrestling and high flying ability to go along with that, he's entering the Elite Series as someone with a lot of eyes on him, even with a minor size disadvantage. Having won 5 total titles in WLW, their Modern Japan Championship once, their Tag Team Championship twice with Nichiren Amagawa, and their Universal Championship twice, with his second reign ending less than two weeks before the start of the Elite Series, Masa Kurata has a genuine chance to shock the world, and even if he fails, he should provide a great showcase to WLW's Lucharesu style. Works for WLW.

"Leader of The Syndicate" Wolf Hawkins. By far the biggest surprise of the tournament, for the first time ever, not only will Wolf Hawkins be wrestling outside of North America, but he will be wrestling for a company that isn't TCW. Brought in on a temporary talent trade that only cost the company 25,000 dollars, calling Wolf Hawkins a legend would be an understatement. Tommy Cornell's first prodigy, one of most popular wrestlers on Earth, the only thing that matches his sheer star power in the ring is his wrestling skills. Somehow one of the businesses best brawlers and technical wrestlers, he may be a bit out of his element at first in PGHW, but it should not take long for him to quickly adapt to the competition, especially with size that compares well to the rest of the roster. Along with all of this, his leadership of The Syndicate in the United States immediately aligns him with the faction's Japanese offshoot, bringing him close with two of PGHW's current champions, one of it's brightest young stars, and Hirotsugu Satou. All of this without mentioning the championships he's managed to capture in his career. A 1 time TCW International Champion, a 1 time TCW All Action Champion, a 3 time TCW World Heavyweight Champion, and a winner of TCW's own major tournament, the King of Kings in 2019, puts Wolf in a rare class that tier most of PGHW's wrestlers don't hit. Despite being an outsider, it's difficult to consider Wolf Hawkins anything but one of the favorites in the tournament, no matter who he gets drawn against for his side of the round robin. Whether or not this is a sign of future appearances for the company, or if it'll just be a one off, wrestling fans around the world are in for a treat when Wolf Hawkins finally steps inside a PGHW ring. Works for TCW.

In other roster news, PGHW will be losing one member of the roster on excursion, but gaining another as he returns from VWA.

image.jpegimage.jpeg

Keishi Tagawa, who spent almost an entire calendar year on PGHW's roster as a young lion, has been sent to American company Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling for a three year excursion. PGHW higher-ups were so impressed with the performance of Ernest Youngman during the last tour that they immediately started an excursion deal with the American Indie, hoping for some of their success in refining Youngman to replicate with Keishi.

Minoru Takahata, who's been with Europe's Victory Wrestling Association for the past four years, will finally be returning to PGHW in the middle of March of 2022. Assumptions are that his debut will be kept off until Night Of Pride himself, with hopes that a reintroduction at the company's biggest event of the year will set the 22 year old up for great success. With solid size, good star quality, and great wrestling skills for someone his age, he'll be joining the younger parts of the roster as a potential future star to keep an eye out on.

Stables:

image.jpeg.7501c78cb5a6bbfc48d526122663198e.jpegimage.jpeg

In a video of Wolf Hawkins landing in Japan, his welcoming party were the current members of The Syndicate Japan, officially confirming the connection between the American and Japanese branches of the faction, and arguably making them the strongest group across the wrestling world, regardless of company.

Company Relations:

PGHW has signed an excursion deal with PSW, providing them with a spot to send workers in America after the TCW deal ended.

Random News from Other Companies:

image.jpegimage.jpeg TCW announced that they would not be re-signing Seth Whitehead, who was very quickly picked up by SWF for a developmental deal, placing him in RIPW.

image.jpeg Young star for NYCW, Cory Underwood, has broken his leg, keeping him out of action for 6 months.

image.jpeg The rapper Darius Singer has been announced for an appearance at USPW's Liberty and Justice! on March 26th.

image.jpeg Wrestler Zeshin Makioka won SAISHO's A-1 Grand Prix, and event often compared to the Elite Series because of the two companies' shared history, for a second time.

image.jpeg Snake King has won EMLL's Ring of Chaos for the first time in his career.

Lastly, the reveal of the rest of the participants in the Elite Series, the two blocks, and the set-up for the tournament will be sent out sometime soon, and then, after a press conference with CEO Yoshimi Mushashibo and the participants, the tournament will start.

OFFICIAL BLOCK PLACEMENTS FOR THE 2022 ELITE SERIES:

image.png

-Editor's Note-

I've never done predictions for a Dynasty before, but since I'm posting the blocks & cards early, why not at least open myself up to the opportunity. Not looking at matches, but if you can successfully predict a Block Winner by points or by whoever makes it to the finals through the run-off, you can pick one of the people I bring in for a tour in April. If you manage to successfully predict the winner, you can pick a permanent signing I make. If you accidentally pick someone who's under exclusive contract, I'll let you rechoose. I don't think I'm booking any of the tour shows until at least tomorrow, and I still need to post the press conference, so you have a bit to make predictions. No idea if anyone will, but thought it would be nice to offer. Finally, the match card below is not in order of matches on each night, I'll decide stuff like Main Events/Openers as I book each show, and lastly, I suck at organizing stuff, thankfully TEW has a feature for Round Robins that will cover for me if I accidently repeated a match in this list. Hopefully I didn't, but if so, it shouldn't be an issue with the actual booking and I'll correct it on here if I notice it.

Quick OOC thing, some stuff came up today so sorry about the lack of Elite Series updates. Will try to get something out tonight but if not something will be out tomorrow, I may end up forgoing the in-character press conference thing though, just depends.

Also I'm downloading the full game as I type this so I'll be able to continue after the Elite Series.

PGHW Dojo Graduates - 2024

As is customary for the month of March, PG HW's Dojo graduating class for the year is revealed during the Elite Series, and this year, two of the three were picked up for contracts. Yoritomo Arihyoshi and Yodo Okui

image.jpeg

Standing at just 5'8 and weighing less than 200 pounds, Yoritomo is one of the smallest graduates in the history of the dojo. The 22 year old defies expectations for a worker of his size though, leaning heavily into brawling, effectively ignoring aerial wrestling as part of his arsenal. His small stature doesn't have Yoritomo come off as an underdog though, with his pure bad-ass aura more than making up for the size disadvantage he'll have in almost all his match-ups in PGHW. If he can gain a bit of weight and put together some technical and puro skills to go along with his brawling, Yoritomo has potential to be a future mainstay for the company.

image.jpeg

From one end of the size spectrum to the other, Yodo Okui is, by almost all measurements, a behemoth. 6'10, 325 pounds of pure power, he doesn't have the innate charisma or skill as Yoritomo, but his sheer size means that if he can even put it together a little, he can become one of the companies' biggest stars, literally and figuratively. At just 18 years old, he should have more than a decade before hitting anywhere near his peak, meaning that the sky may truly be the limit for this Japanese Goliath.

Able to take advantage of Kwakami's weak shoulder, Nobuyo was able to pull off a massive upset, making Akinori tap at 9:36 with his Cross Armlock. 57 Rating

Match 7 - B-Block - Kozue Kawashima vs Seiji Jimbo

In a massively hyped showdown between two of the companies mainstays, Kozue Kawashima was able to beat Seiji with an emotional Kawashima Driver 2005 after 18:53. 83 Rating

Match 8 - A-Block - Masaru Ugaki vs Chojiro Kitoaji

In an incredible showcase for the young star, Nobuyo Hikichi took Masaru to the limit, but fell to the Arc Kick at 18:07. 81 Rating

Match 4 - B-Block - Bussho Makiguchi vs Reaver

Match 8 - B-Block - Kozue Kawashima vs Avalanche Takano

In what some argue was a "prove it" match for the rapidly rising Takano, he didn't necessarily fly as high as some wanted him to, falling to what so many others have, the Kawashima Driver 2005, after 18:42. 73 Rating

PRIDE TOUR - Night 7 of the Elite Series

Match 1 - A-Block - Akinori Kwakami vs Masaru Ugaki

Match 4 - B-Block - Shinji Mihara vs Bussho Makiguchi

A dream match that just so happened to hold the fate of B-Block in the balance, the two all-time greats weren't able to beat each other, even with Kozue having a slight advantage throughout the entire match with Wolf's injured eye. PRIDE TOUR - Night 8 of the Elite Series, Semifinals

Match 1 - A-Block vs B-Block Bonus Match/WLW Challenge - Masa Kurata vs Reaver

Masa, ready b booked for another match at Night of Pride itself, still wanted to test himself against another former WLW alumni, Reaver, who was one of Lucharesu's brightest stars as the masked wrestler Hell Monkey. Unlike his match against Magnum Kobe, Kurata was able to pull out the win here, hitting a devastating K-HD at the 15:21 mark to pick up the win, proving how far he's come since him and Reaver shared the same company. 62 Rating

Match 2 - Non-Tournament Six-Man Tag - The Syndicate of Japan (Magnum Kobe, Shinji Miharo, Hirotsugu Satou) vs UWU (William Hayes, Matt Blackburn, Simon Flemmingway)

In a match that faction leader Magnum Kobe described as a "nice rest" from the Elite Series in a post-match promo, Shinji Mihara was able to pin William Hayes after hitting his devastating Spinning Elbow Strike at 10:07, a move that has grown a lot more violent over the tournament, showing the growth Shinji had wrestling against the incredible talents in B-Block. 71 Rating

Match 3 - Masaru Ugaki (A-Block Winner) vs Wolf Hawkins (B-Block Runner-Up)

5 Total World Titles, 2 Total Wins in Massive Tournaments, an uncountable amount of 5 Star Matches, on paper, this was a dream match between two of this generation's brightest stars, and in the ring, it lived up to it. Fighting half blind throughout the entire match, with his eye patch covering the eye bruised earlier in the tournament, Wolf Hawkins was still able to match Ugaki blow for blow, hold for hold, keeping it close as both men got more and more fatigued. Entering the match, Wolf Hawkins entered the ring not well liked by the PGHW crowd, the invader looked at negatively for his alignment in America and his association with The Syndicate, but over the course of an incredible 25:29, he was able to exit the ring a fan favorite, with the audience even howling during some of Wolf's offense towards the end of the match. However, Wolf was not able to exit the ring as the winner. Unable to see out of his left eye because of the eyepatch, he couldn't dodge Ugaki's Arc Kick, which finally ended up putting Wolf down, booking Masaru Ugaki the first spot in the Main Event at Night of Pride. 89 Rating [BEST MATCH OF THE TOURNAMENT]

Not too far after the match ended, Wolf Hawkins would send out what could be read as a warning to Masaru Ugaki, teasing a potential rematch between the two when Wolf is healed up. With matches lined up against Kozue Kawashima and Masaru Ugaki, Wolf Hawkins looks like he may soon return to PGHW, much to the delight of fans and Yoshimi Mushashibo.

Match 4 - Non-Tournament Historical Japan Championship Match Taheiji Konoe (C) vs Hiroshi Morisue

For the second time since Yoshimi Mushashibo started his tenure as Owner, Hiroshi Morisue once again popped up backstage at an event, asking to be booked, and, with Taheiji Konoe yet to defend his title, and the two of them being alumni from the same company, they were put together in what was supposed to be an extremely short, nostalgic, passing of the torch match. Instead, the two of them put on something quite bad for what was just supposed to last 5:13, with Taheiji thankfully making Morisue tap out with a simple sleeper hold after the two's wild brawl had subsided. 45 Rating [First Title Defense]

Match 5 - Non-Tournament Six-Man Tag - Kyoshi Muraguchi, Minoru Nakahata, and Shogun Watoga vs Mamoru Nagahama, Yuri Yoshihara and Mitsunari Fugunaga

In a match meant to be a bit of a preview for PGHW's new roster members, Shogun Watoga was able to pin Mitsunari after knocking him out with an Elevated European Uppercut at 14:49. Of the three, Kyoshi Muraguchi was unsurprisingly the most impressive in ring, hopefully showing that his lack of size won't detract from his in-ring ability in this Junior Divisionless company, and despite his relatively young age, Minoru Nakahata wasn't too far behind his tag partners in his return from excursion, putting on a solid performance despite his inexperience. 63 Rating

Match 6 - Scoreless Guests vs Young Lions - Yoshinaka Taku & Ed Larkins vs Yodo Okui & Yoritomo Arihyoshi

Teaming the two scoreless guests up, they were quickly able to defeat PGHW's new pair of young lions in their debut match. Yoshinaka Taku was able to pin Yoritomo Arihyoshi at 8:19 after hitting a Full Nelson Bomb, giving the rookie his first real taste of Puroresu. The two rookies do not work at all as tag-partners, though for a match between two debuting young lions and two wrestlers who aren't permanent signings for the company, it wasn't too bad. 54 Rating

Match 7 - Kozue Kawashima (B-Block Winner) vs Chojiro Kitoaji (A-Block Runner-Up)

On one side of the ring you had The Ace. The most decorated wrestler in PGHW history. 4 Time holder of the Glory Crown, 2 Time winner of the Elite Series, Kozue Kawashima. On the other sat a man with wrestling in his blood. Someone who effectively grew up in a PGHW locker room. One half of what may be the greatest Tag Team on Earth and an Elite Series winner in his own right, Chojiro Kitoaji. This emotional showdown went back and forth for 30:30 with neither man truly able to keep the other down for long, just as it seemed that Kawashima was finally about to book his ticket to the finals, Kitoaji bounced off the ropes, hitting what many on social media called "The greatest Lariat ever done by someone under 6'5". Both men would collapse from the move, but the exhausted Chojiro was able to position himself on-top of Kawashima, winning the match, and confirming his place in the Main Event at Night of Pride. 89 Rating [TIED FOR BEST MATCH OF THE TOURNAMENT]

Overall Rating: 87

With this, the stage is set for the Elite Series Final, Masaru Ugaki (A-Block Winner) vs Chojiro Kitoaji (A-Block Runner-Up) in a rematch of their Main Event time-limit draw from Night 5. Both men are searching for their 2nd Elite Series win, an accomplishment that they would only share with Seiji Jimbo (2018/2019), Kozue Kawashima (2010/2016), Eisaku Hoshino (2000/2002), and Koryusai Kitoaji (1998/1999), with Yoshimi Mushashibo himself (2001/2006/2013) and PRIDE Koiso (2009/2012/2014) being the only men who have won more. This would be Ugaki's first Elite Series win since 2017, and, with his win over Magnum Kobe in the Elite Series, send him to Night of Honour in August as the arguable favorite. For Chojiro Kitoaji, this would be his 2nd Elite Series win in 2 years, a feat only replicated by Seiji Jimbo and his own father, Koryusai Kitoaji. Unlike Ugaki, Chojiro was only able to draw with Kobe, and he's never held the Glory Crown. Will Masaru Ugaki reassert his place at the thrown of PGHW, or will Chojiro Kitoaji honor his dad, win the tournament, and book his ticket for the biggest match of his life against Magnum Kobe?

For other tournament action, the rest of the names in the blocks have been paired up with each other for singles or tag matches on Night of Pride. These include:

Magnum Kobe (A) & Wolf Hawkins (B) (The Syndicate Japan) vs Kozue Kawashima (B) & Kazushige Matsuki (A) (Team GLORY) - Faction Action

Ed Larkins (A) vs Yoshinaka Taku (B) vs Reaver (B) - Special Three-Way Match

Masa Kurata (A) vs Seiji Jimbo (B) - Lucharesu vs The Royal Road

Akinori Kwakami (A) & Bussho Makiguchi (B) vs Nobuyo Hikichi (A) & Shinji Mihara (B) - Tag Mashup

Along with these four matches, and the Elite Series final, there will be others on the card for Night of Pride.
