iwannabeacclaimed
INTRODUCTION Former MMA fighter and wrestler Josh Barnett has announced plans to expand the tone and style of his annual Bloodsport shoot-style tournament to an entire promotion. It's believed that Barnett intends to maintain a working relationship with several major companies to continue to bring major names in for tournaments and one-off appearances. Bloodsport FightNight will air weekly on YouTube, while Bloodsport FC cards will air once per month on IWTV. Competitors will be ranked based on win-loss record and matched appropriately. Matches in BFC will be held to a time limit. Non-title matches have a 15-minute time limit, title matches have a 30-minute time limit, and special matches as decided by BFC staff may have up to a 60-minute time limit. If, at the end of the time limit, a winner cannot be declared, a panel of 3 judges will decide the winner on a criteria of effective offense/defense, ring control, technical skill, and good sportsmanship. Recurring Matches and Supercards The BFC Young Lions Cup is an annual men's and women's single-elimination tournament for wrestlers who are either under 25 years of age as of the start date of the tournament OR who have wrestled less than 25 sanctioned professional matches. The winner of the Young Lions Cup receives 100 thousand US dollars to donate to a charity or cause of their choice as well as the right to carry and defend the tournament trophy for up to 365 days. The Stephan Bonnar Memorial Trophy is an annual grand prix-style mixed gender tournament. After a round of qualifying matches, the surviving 16 competitors are sorted into four groups of four at random. The participants of each group then face each other in two 10-minute round robin matches each. A win is worth 3 points, a time limit draw is worth 1 point, and a loss is worth 0 points. The top two finishers of each group qualify for the knockout stage, with ties being broken in order by most total group stage wins then least total group stage losses then least group stage total draws. If a group's tie is still not broken after these procedures, the tied competitors compete in a sudden-death match to determine the qualifying finisher(s). The winner of the Stephan Bonnar Memorial Trophy earns a match at a future event where, upon successful defense of the Trophy, they earn a match for the BFC Triple Crown Championship of their respective gender division. Luchas de Apuestas are treated with a high level of reverence. Valid wagers in a sanctioned BFC Lucha de Apuesta include unmasking, shaving one's hair, a title or titles, one's career, and "loser leaves town." The Bloodsport FC Kumite is an annual mixed gender single-elimination tournament where bouts can only be won by knockout, submission, forfeit, or injury stoppage. Each year's winner receives a first-round BYE into the next year's competition. The competition is held around Wrestlemania weekend each year at Bloodsport FC Presents: No Surrender. The BFC World Cup of Wrestling is an annual team-based competition between team USA-Canada, Team Europe, Team Mexico-South America, Team Asia, and Team Rest of the World. Participants take part in singles and team matches as qualifiers across one month. The two teams with the most combined wins compete for gold and silver medals while the next two teams compete for bronze. The gold medalists receive the right to select the gimmick of next year's first five matches for their team while silver receive first selection for their team's next captain. iwannabeacclaimed
BFC ANNOUNCE TRIPLE CROWN FORMAT Josh Barnett's upstart promotion Bloodsport FC have announced the format for winning and defending their Triple Crown titles. The Men's and Women's Heavyweight World and International championships will represent the number 1 and 2 ranked competitors of each division respectively. The holder of each of these titles must successfully defend their title each 30 days, and they must also participate in a match for the Triple Crown Title. The winner of this match will be named the Triple Crown champion of their division and must defend both titles individually within 30 days of each previous defense. BFC FightNight 1's announced card is set to determine the BFC Men's International World Heavyweight and International titles, as well as the Women's International Title. According to sources within the company, the remaining titles are set to be determined at BFC 1, with both inaugural Triple Crown champions crowned at either BFC 2 or a near future BFC FightNight. iwannabeacclaimed
Quick OOC update: I've been a fairly casual diary creator before, this is the first one i'm really putting some serious effort into. I'll be sunmarizing results for TV tapings and writing efed-style results for the main event/significant segments of PPVs. Once the titles are established the 2024 World Cup will swing into motion with the North American and Eruopean Qualifier events.
