GrindhouseArts Posted August 21 Share Posted August 21 (edited) Today, I made the fateful decision to fully convert my personal 2020 mod to IX. This will be a slow process since it's a solo project and a little excessive in some areas. I'll release it bit by bit, in parts that are useful as standalone addons. Most of the time, that will probably be a company with all its stuff - workers, titles, shows, events. Sometimes it will be kinda boring, practical stuff like Venues & Locations per region or just a bunch of Free Pictures. Nothing should conflict with other mods since all of this is fictional. There are no references to real world or Cverse anything, so there won't be any contradicting lore. MOD CONCEPT A one size fits all import fodder database that can be imported and mixed and matched to fill out smaller game worlds, or rejuvinate long saves that run out of debuts at some point. As the name says, it's all about the smalltime scene in this. Insignificant to Small companies, rookies, young workers that can be molded over time. I mostly play local-to-global and like to have lots of competition and potential friends and foes. The companies and their owners/bookers are playable, but mainly designed to be NPCs that keep a game world dynamic, get low pop workers into the workforce, build up future hires for bigger companies, and so on. Once the conversion is complete, there will be empty categories (i.e. tag team/stable names, event names) since those are either covered by the default database or plenty of other mods. Other categories will be empty on purpose (title/employment histories are a big one) to make it quicker and easier to move the start around without much pre-game editing. LOWER DECKS CONTENT * 4k+ workers, including 200+ premade tag teams, \~700 ringside workers, \~100 smalltime celebrities * 33 active companies (66 total, the other half opens gradually) * active regions: USA, Canada, Europe * start date will be 2022, but can be moved forward without much hassle * 5k+ free pictures for generated workers of every possible gender/role/ethnicity combo * generic Belts, TV/Event, Company, Stable, Broadcaster logos, and so on Much of my work will be moving the start date to 2022 (from 2015 in the 2020 version), recreating movesets (which is already killing me a bit on the inside), and adding the new features (geo tagging will be a big one since I have a somewhat elaborate European scene). Pictures will be made to resemble a patchwork RW graphic pack, but with a color scheme (background and frame are attached to this post in case someone has even worse OCD than me and wants all images to have the exact same look). I only touch up backgrounds that don't fit the blue/orange theme or are too busy or too plain. I'm all for a slightly different styles especially for non core product - I love that willr0ck and WillyWillyWilly are going with the comic book style but both in a slightly different way and you've gone with what I would call an exaggerated reality. I'm really happy with the AI in this style (more so after my struggles with the daz style renders) because it's pretty good with ethnicity and specific hairstyles and outfits. The only major issue is that it's becoming more and more censored, and it's getting difficult to get any crimson masks now. Thankfully, I have a good amount of hardcore worker pics (some real treasures from Bing's first public month; absolutely unhinged stuff, not just in regards to hardcore, lol) and an alternative AI that has zero reservations about 'and is covered in blood splatters from head to toe' phrasings or non-model-shaped women. It doesn't get nice backgrounds right though, so I decided to fix up everything wayward with one 'default' background to make it feel more uniform as a whole. I also have a personal RW graphic set with the same default background (well, about 12k of 19k done, last I had the heart to check, lol) where the Lower Deck set blends in perfectly. Other than some real life wrestlers having only absolutely atrocious, badly lit, pixely photos online, but that's not my problem. In a way, it resembles real life, too. As a promoter, I wouldn't hire people who can't even be assed to take decent photos in this day and age either. alpha2117 Posted August 29 Share Posted August 29 Minor things I noticed when I put the SPIKE and XENO workers into a watcher game Carmen Sierra is down as competing in the Mens Division Syberia Dust has Risk Taker and Stuntman - they clash as they relate to the same thing but different levels of the scale. Does it really matter which division is checked if the company setting is 'intergender'? There wouldn't be divisions. I think I'll play it safe with most rosters and set them to 'competes mostly vs. same gender'. That way, they'll mostly compete in their divisions, but the AI won't trip up if something changes about the roster, like go on a hiring frenzy because one division doesn't have a suitable champion or something. I have a few cases that I'll set to 'mainly opposite sex divison', like drag queens that are male, but would mainly be treated as women.
