Montreal Screw-What? A "What If" Look. 1997 and Beyond.

Recommended Posts

Note: Hey all, this is my first diary on TEW so bare with me as I'll more than likely go through some "growing pains" when it comes to my writing style here. I'm using the 1997 Montreal Screwjob mod with a few changes. I put Bret Hart back into the WWF and I created Brian Pillman as he passed away that year and he's my favorite wrestler of all time. I welcome any criticism as long as it's constructive. Any input you have, feel free to share with me and I'll do what I can to appease. I'll usually be able to do one update a day, sometimes two if some extra time falls into my lap. So here I go, wish me luck as I dive into the unknown lol. What if? It's a question that you likely hear or use in your everyday life. "What if I went left and not right? Would I have still wrecked my car?" "What if I didn't stop at the store during a twinkie craving? Would I have still met my wife?". It's questions like these that make you reflect back on things and think about what could have been had you, or some one else not made a certain decision. Now what if Vince McMahon had not screwed Bret Hart over? What if Bret decided to sign with the WWF and not WCW? What if Bret went and put over Michaels anyway without the need for the underhanded measures? Would the shape of wrestling played out the same way regardless? Now what if a relative unknown was given control of the creative booking and personel issues of the WWF? Would we still have outrageous storylines the likes of "Katie Vick"? Would we see the boss of the company on the screen seemingly every 5 minutes? Would we still be seeing the same old 5 or so faces every time we tune in? Would titles actually mean something more than just being a prop? Would the more talented but less pushed workers be given a fair shot with the less talented but overly pushed workers? My friends and peers, it's time to get a glimpse of what might have been had certain events not taken place. It's time to go back to a time when wrestling was at a precipice. Where it could flourish and live on to give more than 4 more years of serious competion between companies, or it could still collapse and leave nothing more than a single company above all else with smaller companies standing little to no chance of competing. 1997, a year that changed the landscape of professional wrestling today, but what if some things happened while some didn't? A young booker is put in charge of the WWF's on and off air proceedings, can he change the future or is it an unavoidable outcome? We shall see.

Doug Furnas Uppercarder and Ahmed Midcarder? C'mon dude, at least switch those two :P But seriously, I don't know if it's ever been done before but it is a very interesting idea. I would have loved to have seen Hart/Kane, Hart/Rock even Hart/HHH (mainevent HHH) so I'll be definitely looking forward to see what Hart (who is my favorite wrestler -- book him right ;)) will be doing.

Hey thanks for the replies, appreciate the attention. As for the roster spots, thats how they were set when I started the game so I'm just taking that and putting it here, but I will be looking to do some roster moves as there are a bunch of weird gimmick choices(Ken Shamrock as a masked luchadore?!). I also got some plans for Bret so don't worry ;). I'm gonna go book the first RAW episode, update in a few with the results.

Live! From the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria Illinois! Segment 1: The show opens up with the sound of glass shattering as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin marches down to the ring with an agenda on his mind. He rolls into the ring and grabs a mic. He waits a few seconds for the crowd to calm down a little bit. He cuts a promo calling out the newly crowned WWF World Heavyweight Champion Shawn Michaels. He goes on saying that he may have beaten Bret Hart but now it's Stone Cold's turn to take the title. He talks about Shawn being a cowardly champion that will keep ducking Austin at every oppotunity. He finishes up by saying that one way or another, Austin will get his hands on the title, and that's the bottom line, cuz Stone Cold said so! A rating Segment 2: We come back from commercial and the PA system opens up with "Oh you didn't know? *dun dun dun dun* You're ass better call somebooooooooooody!" Roaddogg Jesse James and Bad Ass Billy Gunn come out crotch chopping and head down to the ring with the tag titles around their waist. Already in the ring are Mosh and Thrasher the Headbangers. The match gets under way and the two teams begin brawling. Midway through the match, Thrasher gets the hot tag and begins laying the heavy punches into Gunn and James. It appears as if the Headbangers will pull out the upset and take the tag titles but Gunn manages to get a sneaky low blow in on Thrasher setting him up for the Fame-Asser and securing the win for the New Age Outlaws. C+ Rating Segment 3: We cut to backstage where we see Bret Hart arriving at the building, his bag over his shoulder but no title as he lost it to Shawn Michaels the night before. Will Bret have anything to say here tonight? A* rating Segment 4: The red pyro explodes and out steps the monster Kane! Much to the dismay of Al Snow who is in the ring with a look on his face that says it all, fear. Kane steps into the ring and Al Snow tries to get a few quick hits in but to no avail. Kane toys with Snow for a couple minutes before finishing him with a Tombstone Piledriver. C+ Rating Segment 5: Suddenly out from under the ring comes Mankind! With a chair in hand he rolls into the ring, as Kane turns around Mankind cracks the chair on Kane's head! Kane however seemingly feels no pain! He grabs Mankind around the neck causing him to drop the chair to the mat. Kane lifts Mankind up off the ground and slams him onto the chair with a chokeslam! Kane has laid out two men in a matter of minutes. Can anyone stop this monster? A Rating Segment 6: After the commercial break, Ahmed Johnson and Rocky Maivia both make their entrnaces down to the ring. The bell sounds and the match gets underway. The fights goes back and forth for a while. It ends up finishing when Rocky grabs a handfull of tights and uses the ropes for leverage to get the pin on Ahmed. B+ Rating Segment 7: A furious Ahmed is arguing with the ref as Rocky exits the ring as quickly as he can laughing at Ahmed. Ahmed yells at Rocky something to the tune of "I'll get you back don't worry punk!" B Rating Segment 8: We go backstage where we see Bret Hart enter Vince McMahon's office. Bret: Vince, I wanna exersise my rematch clause as former champion. Vince: Ok. Bret: Tonight, Shawn and me, one on one. Vince: Ooh, sorry. Not going to happen Bret. Bret: Why not?! Vince: I already booked Shawn and Austin. Bret: Oh yeah? We'll see about that. Bret storms out of Vince's office and goes looking for Austin A* Rating Segment 9:Goldust and Jeff Jarrett have a time killer match which see's Jeff try and cheat to get the ring but Goldust counters the lowblow with one of his own. He then follows it up with the Shattered Dreams ending the match. B Ratings Segment 10: The New Blacjacks(Black Jack Windham and Justin Bradshaw) are in the ring when the lights dim down a little bit. The fans turn their attention to the entrance ramp when "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT A RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSH!" comes over the PA and all the fans erupt as The Legion of Doom make their tag team reunion right here on RAW! The LoD make their way down to the ring playing to the crowd. As the match gets under way the LoD take full control making tags at the right time clearly showing their experience as one of the greatest tag teams in history. The match ends with the Doomsday Device on Windham. The LoD celebrate their win and reunion and the crowd eats it up. Ah the Kayfabe. C+ Rating Segment 11: Backstage we see Bret Hart and Austin in an argument. It goes back and forth about who gets the match tonight against Michaels. Bret says that he's the former champ and he has the right to the rematch whenever he wants, Austin says he's the number 1 contender. But it ends with an agreement when Austin says that Bret can have the match tonight but if Bret loses, Austin gets Shawn the next shot. Bret agrees with confidence that he can beat Michaels. A* Rating Segment 12: Another filler match that see's Chainsaw Charlie beating D'Lo Brown in a match that suprisingly turne out better than was expected. The highlight saw Chainsaw flaten Brown with a sick looking Double Arm DDT. B Rating Segment 13: Steve Blackman is in the ring when the "King of Hearts" Owen Hart makes his way down to the ring getting a huge ovation. The match starts and almost right away it turns into a technical showdown as Owen shows his experience taking the quick advantage over Blackman. Blackman battles back though using the quick hand and feet strikes. Owen counters using his speed advantage over the slower Blackman and focusing on the legs eventually setting him up for the Sharpshooter. Blackman taps and Owens gets the victory. He celebrates his win as the crowd cheers him on. B Rating Segment 14: After the match though Ken Shamrock runs into the ring behind Owen! He shoots and takes down Owen by the legs. Ken quickly locks in the Ankle Lock on the downed Owen! Owen thrives in pain trying to break the hold but it's all but futile. Finally other referees and backstage workers come out to the ring to pry Shamrock off Owen who clutches his ankle in pain. Shamrock is escorted to the back accompanied by a resounding round of jeers. B+ Rating Segment 15: Backstage Shawn Michaels cuts a promo putting himself over and talking about it doesn't matter if he faces Austin or Hart because he's the Showstopper and will keep his title regardless of who his opponent is. A* Rating Segment 16: In an attempt to slow things down a little bit, Mabel is in the ring when The Phenom makes his way down to the ring. A quick match happens in which we see The Undertaker beat Mable with a chokeslam. Nothing more than a filler match for cheap heat here. B+ Rating Segment 17: After commerical the D-X music hits as Triple H comes down to the ring followed by Chyna. A few crotch chops and boos later the music dies down. Then Brian Pillman's music hits as The Loose Cannon comes out with the almost sadistic smile on his face and walks down to the ring slapping hands with the fans. The match gets going and it quickly turns into a slugfest. Chyna gets involved a few times distracting the referee when Pillman was covering HHH for the win. Finally Pillman has enough and chases Chyna off with a chair from under the ring. He gets back into the ring and puts Triple H away with death valley driver for the 3 count. A Rating Segment 18: After the 3 count, Chyna comes back down to the ring and low blows Pillman doubling him over. Triple H groggily gets up and delivers the Pedigree on Pillman laying him out cold in the middle of the ring. B- Segment 19: Before we go to commercial we hear the announcers hyping the following match between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart for the World Title. A* Rating Segment 20: The crowd is white hot by this point and are amped up for the rematch between Shawn and Bret. Shawn makes his way out first to a resounding round of boos from the crowd, he offers nothing more than crotch chops for their reaction. A few moments after his music dies down, The Hitman's music hits and the crowd goes crazy. He walks down to the ring with the trademarked leather jacket and sunglasses which he places on the head of a young fan sitting ringside more than likely making that kids night and probably life. He takes off the jacket and enters the ring. The bell sounds and the match gets going. The match goes back and forth for a while and the crowd is loving it. A turning point comes when the ref is knocked down by a stray Sweet Chin Music from Michaels. Hart quickly takes advantage of the off balance Michaels and locks in the Sharpshooter! The crowd is calling for the ref to get up. Michaels is in immense pain and tapping rapidly but theres no ref to see it. Suddenly from down the aisle comes Austin running with a chair! He rolls into the ring and cracks Hart with the chair! The crowd is in shock as Hart collapses to the mat out cold. Austin pulls Michaels over and drapes him over Hart's body. Austin then runs over to the ref and shakes him furiously to wake him up. The ref slowly comes to and crawls over to make the count. 1.....2.....3! The match is over! Shawn wins thanks to the help from Austin! Austin leaves the ring to the sound of boos from the crowd, Michaels groggily takes his title and rolls out of the ring while Bret is still out cold in the ring. The show signs off leaving the crowd wanting more. A* Rating. Overall show rating A.

I, as well as the rest of the WWF wish them the best in their future endevours and if we happen to come across something suitable for their talents then we will be sure to call them and off them another shot. Monday Night Raw Live! From the Conte Forum in Boston MA. Backstage Promo: The show opens up with a view of Bret Hart backstage and he looks none the pleased over what happened last week. He proceeds to cut a promo ripping Austin for his actions and takes a few shots at Michaels while he's at it. He says he's going to go find McMahon and demand a rematch. A* Chainsaw Charlie vs Mankind:The match starts out like most matches involving either Charlie or Mankind, brawling. Put both of them in the same ring and it certainly won't turn into a technical show or high flying spot fest. It's almost as if Tyson fought Fraizer when both when in their prime, nothing but a slug fest. A few minutes in the stage explodes with red pyro and the familar music comes on as Kane steps out from behind the curtains. The two in the ring stop fighting and look towards the entrance ramp. If you recall, after Kane beat Charlie last week, Mankind foolishy attacked Kane with a chair which only ended in Kane chokeslamming Mankind on the chair itself. Kane walks down and into the ring, both competitors try and take down Kane but to no avail. The referee calls for the bell and rules a no contest. Kane grabs both men by the throught and delivers a double chokeslam! A In-Ring Beatdown: Kane picks Mankind back up and tosses him to the outside. He rolls out himself and picks Mankind back up. Kane drags the half there Mankind over to the steel steps. He picks him up, and delivers the Tombstone Piledriver on the steel steps as Mankind's head leaves a visable dent. Kane causes the ring posts to explode with the red pyro as we go to commerical. A Backstage Promo: As we come back, we see Rocky Maivia backstage. He goes onto to take potshots at Ahmed Johnson talking about how Rocky will be the next IC champion, all he has to do is beat TAKA Michinoku tonight then it's onto the PPV to claim his title. He also talks about how Ahmed will have to beat D'Lo tonight to advance to the title match himself, but he doubts that will happen. B Rocky Maivia vs TAKA Michinoku: A quick match here which saw TAKA try and use the speed advantage while Rocky focused on more impactful moves. The end came when Rocky hit the Rock Bottom for the three count. This match sets up Rocky for a title shot at the next PPV for the Intercontinental Title against the winner of Ahmed Johnson vs D'Lo Brown. B- Backstage Promo: After the match we see "Stone Cold" Steve Austin talk about why he did what he did last week by costing Bret the title. Simply stated, he'd rather face a weakend Michaels than a healthy Hart. Bret did Austin a favor last week by beating Michaels down so now all Austin has to do is pick up the scraps. A* The Headbangers vs The New Age Outlaws(c) vs The Legion of Doom: The match starts with Mosh and Animal. The match turns out really to be LoD vs Headbangers as the Outlaws refused any tags allowing the other two teams to beat each other to a pulp in the hopes they can get the vulture win. And that strategy pays off after LoD hits the Doomsday Device on Thrasher, while Mosh was already laid out on the outside. Billy and Roadogg quickly dispose of the tired LoD and Roadogg gets the easy win, the team celebrates as we go to break. C+ Backstage Conflict: We see Vince McMahon sitting in his office filling out some paper work when Bret Hart barges in. Vince yells at Bret for disturbing him while he puts the finishing touches on new contracts he just gotten from new wrestlers about to join the federation. Bret disregards him and tells Vince about what happened last week and demands a rematch against Shawn. Vince tells him that his hands are tied, that he(Bret) and Austin had a verbal agreement that if Bret doesn't beat Shawn then Austin gets the next shot. Bret storms out of the room talking about fighting fire with fire, the door slams and the break comes. A* Brian Pillman vs Jeff Jarrett: A suprisingly fast paced match here, especially given JJ past matches. The match goes back and forth for a while and the fans seem to be getting into it. Pillman eventually hits a spike piledriver to put JJ away, as he goes for the 3 count, down the ramp comes Chyna and Triple H! Chyna hops up to the apron to distract the referee as Triple H sneaks to the other side of the ring, kicks Pillman in the gut, delivers the Pedigree allowing JJ to cover Pillman for the win. A Brawl Time: Triple H comes back into the ring. He lifts Pillman up and sets him up for another Pedigree. Suddenly Pillman counters with a back body drop. He quickly pounces on Triple H and the two start brawling. The fight goes from the ring, to the arena floor, up and down the entrance aisle and eventually backstage where it's broken up by officials. B- Ahmed Johnson vs D'Lo Brown: This is the second match to determine the other number 1 contender for the IC title match at the PPV. Mid match we see Rocky appear on the ramp to watch the match. The match concludes when D'Lo misses the frog splash and Ahmed captializes and nails the Pearl River Plunge for the victory. Rocky stands atop the ramp smirks a little and offers a little golf clap before walking backstage as we go to commerical. C+ Video: We come back to see a video of Ken Shamrocks run in attack last week on Owen Hart thus hyping the next match. B+ Ken Shamrock vs Owen Hart: The match starts out with a lot of technical moves and submissions. Shamrock manages to reverse an attempted Sharpshooter and turn it into an Ankle Lock on Owen but thankfully for him he was near enough to the ropes to break the hold. Eventually the match turns chaotic as both men start breaking rules left and right and ignoring the referee. The ref calls for the bell throwing the fight out. Many a fan lost a soda or popcorn as they fought through the crowd. A Backstage Attack: As we go backstage, we see Triple H in the bathroom at a urinal doing his business. You can hear him mumbling to himself about Pillman and how he cheap punched him. All of a sudden from behind Triple H you hear "Oooooohhhh Hunter......." in a familar voice. Triple H slowly turns around as none other that Pillman opens the stall door that was behind Triple H and leaps at him. A wild brawl ensues. Pillman gets the advantage though. He doubles over Triple H with a few kicks to the gut. He then proceeds to shove HHH's face into the stall's toilet. "Can you smell that there Hunter? I bet you can with that enourmous growth on your face you call a nose!". Pillman flushes the toilet a couple times giving Triple H the old high school swirly. Pillman then reaches into some of the urinals and pulls out the urinal cakes and pelts HHH with them he follows that up with pegging HHH with a few rolls of toilet paper. Pillman delivers one more kick to the gut before walking out of the restroom leaving Triple H head first in a toilet, covered in urinal cakes and toilet paper as we head to commerical. A Video: We see highlights from last weeks main event that saw Bret Hart losing the match thanks to Austin's interference. A* Promo: Backstage we see Shawn Michaels. He cuts a quick promo about how he didn't need Austin's help to beat Bret(sure is funny how he was tapping in the sharpshooter though). And that tonight, Austin will find out first hand why he's the Showstopper and World Heavyweight Champion. A* Steve Austin vs Shawn Michaels(c): The fans are going crazy as the match gets under way. It goes back and forth, attempted Stunners and missed Super Kicks abound. Michaels eventually winds up hitting the top rope elbow, he then sets up for the Sweet Chin Music. Austin slowly stands up, Michaels advances and tries for it but Austin ducks! Michaels turns around just in time to get a kick to the gut followed by the Stone Cold Stunner! Michaels is out cold! Austin goes for the pin but just at that time Bret Hart comes running down the aisle way. He pulls the ref out of the ring stopping the count. Austin who was oblivious to Harts entrance stands up only to catch a boot to the midsection followed by Hart's signature piledriver! Hart then gives a couple boots to Michaels just for the hell of it before putting Michaels on top of Austin. Hart rolls the referee back in and he counts to thre ending the match and keeping the belt on Shawn! The screen fades out as we see Bret walk over and grab the World Title and hold it up as the fans applaud. A* A* card. Woohoo!

*Sorry for the lateness on the updated, got rather sidetracked yesterday but better a little late than never right? lol* WWF Presents Monday Night Raw Live! From the Cox Center in San Diego California! Video: The show opens up showing a video of last weeks main event. We see Austin about to pin Michaels after the Stunner. Bret Hart then comes down to the ring and knocks Austin out with the piledriver and gives Michaels the reluctant win. A rating Challenge: As the video ends, the glass shatters and Austin makes his way down to the ring. After a few moments of the crowd going crazy, Austin calls for the microphone. He proceeds to insult Bret, calling him a coward for attacking when his(Austin) back was turned. Austin then states that if Bret has an ounce of courage in him, then he'll fight tonight. Bret then comes on the titantron and accepts Austin's challenge. A rating Jeff Jarrett vs Norman Smiley: This is Norman's debut match in the WWF after being released from WCW. The match is somewhat slow to start but Norman eventually gets used to the WWF atmosphere. He applys some submissions and tries to ground Jeff with mat work. Double J eventually gets some cheap shots in and ends the match with the figure 4 leglock. Winner: Jeff Jarrett C+ rating Interview: After the commercial break we're treated to a promo by "The Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman who seems to be holding a roll of toilet paper making reference to his attack on Triple H last week. He talks about how this isn't over between them and that Trips better be ready to call 911, because Pillman doesn't call 911. B- rating Legion Of Doom vs New Age Outlaws: This match turns into a slug fest with neither team having much technical or high flying skills. Highlights included a good looking double team back breaker by the NAW, a DDT that looked like it could have ended the match from Animal on Billy. The LoD eventually hit the Doomsday Device and Hawk covers Billy for the count but Roaddog distracts the referee long enough to draw Animal over and Hawk to stand up meanwhile Billy gets a quick roll up on Hawk as the referee sees this and the NAW steal yet another win and retain the tag titles. Winners: The New Age Outlaws B- rating Teaming Up: Brian Pillman is in his lockeroom when theres a knock at the door. Not to be easily fooled, Pillman grabs a nearby baseball bat, he opens the door and is about to swing but stops when Owen Hart screams "STOP!". Pillman holds up midswing. "Jeeze man, announce yourself next time, I could hardly disinguish you from Triple H from that snoz you have" Pillman says with a sarcastic smile. "Very funny" Owen looks at him with a half serious look. "What'd you need?" Brian asks. "Well being that we're both Hart Foundation, I wanna help you out tonight against Triple H tonight." "Don't you have Shamrock to worry about?" "Worry? I'd hardly call him some one to worry about." "Well it's fine by me Owen. Hart Foundation till the end right?" "Till the end. WOO!" The screen fades and goes to commerical as the two begin to gameplan for the tag match later agains Triple H and his mystery partner. B- rating Steve Blackman vs Ahmed Johnson: Lots of striking in this one from Steve. Ahmed focus on the power moves like suplexs, powerslams and DDTs. The end of the match came when Blackman misses a high kick to the head, Ahmed ducks it and nails the Pearl River Plunge for the 3 count. Winner: Ahmed Johnson. C+ rating Attack: After Ahmed gets the win, Rocky comes running down the aisle and slides in the ring behind Ahmed. As Johnson turns around he's met with the Rock Bottom! Ahmed is laid out in the center of the ring as Rock wags his finger to him as if saying "No way" as we go to break. B- rating Arrival: As we come back we see Shawn Michaels exit his limo with the WWF World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder. When asked why he's here, he responds with "To observe something." A* rating Savio Vega vs The Undertaker: Nothing more than a glorified squash match here. Undertaker dominated from the start. Vega tried to battle back but it was futile. Taker ends it with the Tombstone. Winner: The Undertaker B+ rating Teaming Up: Triple H is getting ready for the tag match later when from off screen, Ken Shamrock walks into the picture. "Ready for the match?" Triple H asks. "Long as I can my hands on that punk Owen I don't care who I have to team with to do it." Shamrock responds. Looks as if Shamrock has joined with Triple H tonight. B+ rating Video: We see a short video overviewing the on going feud between Mankind and Kane. Next we'll see Kane take on Mankind and Chainsaw Charlie after the commerical break. A rating Kane vs Mankind and Chainsaw Charlie: The team quickly tries to chop Kane down and actually succeed to a point. They get him down to one knee and begin working on the other knee but Kane manages to battle back. A couple stiff shots and a big boot send Chainsaw out of the ring and to the floor. Mankind continues to fight but Kane easily overpowers him. Kane catches Mankind in a choke and lifts him up. Mankid tries to apply the Mandible Claw but he can't get through the mask of Kane. Kane delivers the chokeslam and pins Mankind for the win. Winner: Kane A rating Post Match Attack: After the match Kane drags Mankind to the outside of the ring. He brings him over to the announcer's tables. He lifts him up and chokeslams him through the Spanish announce table! A rating Attack: As we come back from break we see Brian Pillman getting a bottle of water from the service table when out of nowhere Triple H comes and nails Pillman in the back with a chair. He delivers a few more shots to Pillman laying him out on the ground weaking him for the match later. B- rating Promo: We see Shawn Michaels backstage talking to himself in front of a mirror with what appears to be an aluminum foil headset on his head. WTF?! A rating Ken Shamrock and Triple H vs Owen Hart and Brian Pillman: Pillman is obviously still feeling the effects of the chair attack from Triple H earlier. Owen and Ken mostly focus on the mat work while Triple H and Pillman simply exchange blows with one another. Triple H and Pillman are brawling on the outside while Owen Hart has Shamrock stunned in the ring, he goes top rope and nails the Hart Attack on Shamrock. He covers Shamrock for the 3 before Triple H can get back in the ring to break the pin up. Winners: Owen Hart and Brian Pillman B+ rating Post Match Attack: After the match, Chyna comes running down the aisle and chop blocks Pillman's legs out! Triple H follows that by driving Pillman into the steel ring steps! As Owen gets up and goes to help Pillman, he's clocked by a right from Chyna and Shamrock comes from behind him and locks in the ankle lock! Owen is on the mat yelling in pain while Triple H and Chyna work over Pillman on the outside as we go to commerical! B+ rating Guest Commentator: As we come back, Shawn Michael's comes out to ringside and takes a seat at the announce table, apparently Michael's is going to watch this #1 contenders match first hand. A* rating Bret Hart vs Steve Austin: Both men make their entrances and the fans are ready for a barn burner. The match delivers too. Austin shows some suprising technical work try to combat Bret's style. Bret manages to avoid a few Stunner attempts by Austin. Bret eventually gets the Sharpshooter locked in but lucky for Austin he was in reaching distance of the ropes to break the hold. During the match Shawn Michaels continuosly rips the two men in the ring. The match comes to a head when Bret hits the piledriver on Austin. He's going for the pin when Michaels suddenly takes his headset off, folds up his chair and jumps into the ring! First he nails Hart then he clocks the already downed Austin! The ref instantly calls for the bell declaring a no contest! Winner: No contest through interference. A rating Promo: Michaels' remains in the ring and calls for a mic. He proceeds to rip Bret and Steve calling them unworthy of holding the title or even coming hear it. He goes on to say that neither men will get a shot as long as he's holding it. He delivers a few more chair shots to both Austin and Hart as the show goes off the air. A* rating A rated card.

WWF Announces Big News The WWF issued a press release stating that they have reached an agreement with Ohio Valley Wrestling to use them as a development federation. The WWF plans on using OVW as a training grounds of sorts in the hopes of grooming future Superstars. Word is that Michael Rockwell has come to terms with over 20 up and coming wrestling prospects. Chances are that these young competitors will be placed in OVW for the time being until they are ready to be called up to the main roster and compete in front of world wide audiences. The WWF hopes that in some of these prospects they can strike gold and have a future megastar on their hands the likes of a Hulk Hogan or Bret Hart. The WWF is also very pleased with their past Raw shows. The fans have had a very positive reaction to them. Viewing ratings may be less than the rival WCW Nitro but in a poll of wrestling fans, a much high percentage said that they have enjoyed WWF programming as opposed to Nitro which has had outlandish main events such as Syxx vs Stevie Ray, Alex Wright vs Ice Train and Dean Malenko vs Psicosis. The WWF has also announced that the next PPV which is scheduled to be "In Your House" may be in line for a make over of sorts. Information is still a bit cloudy on what that means as of right now. But reports state that Michael Rockwell will use Vince McMahon as his mouthpiece to relay the message to the general public on what it means.
