Manimal
One of the promotions I work (UCR) for has just rised in level (to cult I think) and has got a TV deal at firt I thourght great now I get too wrestle more often and for a bigger promotion, but they have never used me once in the 2 months since the have risen, before then I was a lower midcarder for them and was used quite often, but Now I am a 'Enhacment Talent' and never get booked, but the real problem is that therer geting in the way of the other promotions I work for like ROF there I am a main eventer and former champ but I havent worked there Since UCR got there TV deal because of eqity (spelling) so now what should I do? continue to follow order and never get booked or screw eqity (spelling) and work for ROF where I would be put in main event matchs (maybe even get a rematch for the title) and continue the fued with UK Dragon I have going on there? chaotic
My advice would be to leave the fed that won't book you for matches. Do it when your contract expires so that they don't get upset with you, that will only make matters worse. Go for the smaller feds in the same country as the fed that won't book you, raise your overness levels and when you go back to approach them at a later date they will be more likely to hire you and book you higher up the bill. Johnny_McSluggz
Get a job with WLW, that's where I made my biggest leaps and bounds in overness and SP, I worked for them, and about every small US fed, after a while I got signed to a PPA to DAVE, but I only good booked once or twice, before getting try outs for SWF and GCG. My advice is to work for as many promotions as possible. I think I was working 4 days a week at the beginning of my career.
chaotic
That was my idea at first, but I find if I start a game, work for a single promotion for 2 to three months, win a couple of matches and raise my overness by just a few points then I start getting PPA offers rather than try out matches and a little extra money. After that I go for a bunch of feds.
Manimal
No one else will hire me, I was working for WLW but they fired me, now all I can work for are ROF, UCR, MOSC and CZCW that means 1 european, 2 UK and 1 USA and if I quit UCR I will never get over in USA. I am just over a year in and came 120 something in the best wrestlers.
Goldberg
I agree with 'let your contract run out' and stay with the small fed that book you main event. This would work only if you have a month or two left on your contract. If more than a month or two, that tells me that you did not try to lower the length of the contract offer. Personally, I always reduce the length from 12 months to 6, or whatever. Its a verbal contract anyway, so no security. The shorter the contract, the more you have the option to leave, and if you improve, then the sooner you get a raise. If you are locked into a long-term contract with 6 months or more left with a fed that don't book you, I would recommend that you ask yourself how much more fun would you have competing at the smaller level where you were once champ? And is that bigger fed the only way for you to reach the top or do you have alternatives (other feds) at cult level to reach global fed? If the answer is 'more' and 'alternatives' then f*** them, cancel your gigs, and go with the small fed. But I agree that WLW alone can make you a star. Someone else here once posted that after the first career year in WLW, he got an offer from the global fed in Japan paying $14,000 a month!!!... no try-out! Thats after only 1 year he said! So if thats true, raise overness as much as you can... and for that... you must get booked!
Goldberg
Looks like our post got in at the same time, 12:20. And by reading that post Manimal, I want to add that you work for Costal Zone?! Thats great! I love the Costal Zone! Get over in CZCW, become a main event and win the championship. This will take a few months, at least, but if you can do that, I am pretty sure that the other fed (including WLW which recently fired you) will give you another chance! And SWF / TCW will be willing to give you a try-out... or atleast national level feds will. With this new information that you work for CZCW, I would say, maximize the Coastal Zone effort and the closed door will once again open up to you. Let me know how it turns out! Johnny_McSluggz
Once you get to SWF, you're in. I'm working there for 1876 a month, and I've went from Enhancement to Upper Midcard in just over 6 months. I can expect a huge raise when my year is up. But I'm going to try to make it into Burning Hammer first. I'm approaching my 4th year of my career as well, and overness in the USA is skyrocketing. ShootTheMoon
My main advice would be: Always, always, always negotiate the shortest possible contract. Even when you rise to main event status and you are earning $50 K a month in BHOTWG, you are better off with a one-year deal than a two-year deal. Shorter contracts = more freedom = more opportunities for a bigger contract.
Manimal
Ok here's an update on my progress for those intrested (perhaps this should be moved to the Dynasties board) I got fired from UCR after finally getting to have 2 matchs for them (winning both and putting a C+ rating minimum) then I managed to win the ROF Championship again before acidently annoying the owner then losing the title on the same night, the next day herer fired me from ROF but I manged to make friends with him after, then not much longer after I was fired from MOSC and CZCW I'm not sure why because I always put on a good match up (C+ minimum but I usally aim for B- or B) then I was unemployed for 2 years, appling to every promtion every month and ocasionally getting a try out for WLW, MOSC and CZCW put eveytime I got the Message saying 'Some people went out of there way to make me sound bad' so I never got a contract (beating up a women didn't help but it was a accident, I said " Watch my match I'm gonna be stealing the show" she said "not if the ring breaks from my ego" and I said "You can't take a joke" and then I beat her up) but then I FINALLY got offed a try out for 4C not having ever worked there before I had no enemies and so after my try out I got a contract, and then ROF wanted me back (but only as a Upper Midcarder) so I went back there now my overness in canada has gone from 0 to 10 in a couple of months and I hope I can get over enough in ROF to be a Main Eventer again but I doubt I will ever go back to MOSC, CZCW, UCR or NYCW( where I have worked before and am best friends with the owner but that doesn't seem to help) because I have to many enemies there. Johnny_McSluggz
I've never had anything under the maximum morale, and all of that. At least not until I started a career with Bruiser Brody. Heh, he's a demanding mofo, that's for sure.
