The date is April 1st, 2010. Needless to say, this isn't the MAW of '05. Let's get you up to speed, shall we? Size: Regional Style: Traditional Money: $861,127 Popularity: B- in Mid Atlantic, C in Tri State, D in New England, D in South East. ROSTER (faces in blue, heels in red) MAIN EVENT Bryan Holmes: Now 39 years of age, this incredibly talented all-rounder enjoys near-superstar status throughout the entirety of the States (aside from Puerto Rico) as well as a healthy Canadian following. Joined with MAW in February of 2008, claiming the Mid-Atlantic Championship in May of 2009, unifying it with the Tri-State Championship to create the East Coast Championship and defending it a total of 30 times before losing it in February of 2010. A dangerous and very able competitor, Holmes is never to be counted out. His 2010 record in MAW is an impressive 12 wins and 1 loss. JD Morgan: Now at 41 years of age, British native JD Morgan has held a firm grip on his Main Event status despite the fact that he has yet to capture MAW gold. Still a dangerous competitor, he's able to lock on a variety of submission maneuvers at a moment's notice. Morgan joined MAW in July of 2008; his 2010 record stands at 2 wins and 4 losses. Joey Minnesota: Still a youngster at 27, Joey Minnesota has taken MAW by storm after joining in August of 2009. His popularity (and perhaps even talent) is rivaled only by his on-again, off-again teammate, Bryan Holmes. So far, Joey has managed to capture the Tri-State Championship (December 2009) before losing a Unification match to Bryan Holmes, creating the East Coast Championship. Boasts a record of 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses. Wolf Hawkins: As he would put it, the MAW is currently experiencing the "Second Coming of Wolf Hawkins." Originally joining in June of 2007, Hawkins was then snapped up by DAVE in October. However, as DAVE's hardcore product failed to maintain national attention, Phil Vibert was forced to keep Wolf on a verbal when renegotiation time came around. In September of 2009, Wolf Hawkins came back to participate in a classic, A* match against Bryan Holmes which ended in a 30 minute time limit draw. Wolf captured the Mid-Atlantic Championship (which eventually became the East Coast Championship) in 2007 and also broke Bryan Holmes' 30 defense streak to become the first two-time East Coast Champion in MAW history; he is also the youngest at 24 years of age. His current MAW record stands at 4 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses. UPPER MIDCARD Delicious Danny: Over the years, Delicious Danny (also known as Young Leo) has gained quite a strong following in the Mid-Atlantic Region as well as the Tri-State area. At the age of 25, Danny hasn't quite grown into himself all the way yet. You could've fooled us. Famous for his series of A-rated matches with Hell Monkey, Danny has held the North Carolina Championship (January 2009) as well as the currently defunct Mid Atlantic Tag Team Titles with Mainstream Hernandez (July 2009). 2010 has been less kind to him, however, and he's currently seeking to pull himself out of the rut. His MAW record in 2010 is zero wins and five losses. Eddie Chandler: All eyes are on 35 year-old Eddie Chandler right now. After a shocking win against current champion Wolf Hawkins in a non-title match on the last MAW event of March, he has also gained the support of MAW superstar Joey Minnesota. Chandler is practically worshipped in the Mid-Atlantic area, and it would be a lie to say that the Tri-State fans aren't warming up to him. This well-mannered man hasn't yet captured MAW gold, but it's inevitable if his streak continues. Chandler's MAW record for 2010 so far is 8 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Frankie Perez: The West Coast's 25 year-old future star arrived in MAW in April of 2007, only to leave in September of the same year. However, he returned in March of 2009 citing a 'lack of competition in PWMAX and 4C," sending him directly into a feud with Eddie Chandler who also works with PWMAX. Frankie has held the Tri-State Championship (July 2009) as well as the New Jersey Championship (July 2009, December 2009). His 2010 MAW record is 4 wins and 6 losses. Joss Thompson: 28 year-old Joss Thompson has made an incredible impact on MAW since arriving in March of 2009, having high-profile matches against the likes of Joey Minnesota and Bryan Holmes. The youngster is known for his unpredictable nature, notably his ability to score victories when least expected. A former New Jersey Championship holder, his 2010 MAW record is 5 wins and 3 losses. Mario Heroic: 31 year-old Mario Heroic has become a rather high-profile worker during his time in MAW (joined in April of 2007). His skills have increased significantly, and he now displays amazing skills on the mat as well as in the air. Combined with a bizarre natural charisma, Heroic may just be the total package... even though his inflated ego makes complimenting him difficult. Though he hasn't won a title in MAW yet, he's won both the tag and three-man titles in SOTBPW. Twice. His 2010 MAW record is 3 wins and 5 losses. Steve Flash: Why, Steve, Why? It appears as though Steve's newest valet, Elizabeth Hall, may have something to do with his new attitude. Now ruthless and violent, Steve Flash managed to obtain the North Carolina Championship in November of 2009 and has defended it twelve times so far. He's also held the New Jersey Championship and 4C's Hardcore Title. His MAW record for 2010 is 7 wins and zero losses. Tim Westybrook: After he realized that simply throwing his opponents around until they were pinnable was boring, 34 year-old Tim Westybrook's move arsenal started to flesh out a bit. Now incorporating more technical and high flying moves, Westybrook is becoming a fan favorite in both the Mid Atlantic and Tri State regions. He is also a former Tri-State and North Carolina champion. His 2010 MAW record stands at 3 wins and 2 losses. MIDCARD American Elemental: After a match against tag team partner Steve Flash in late 2009, he just... snapped. He floored Flash and went to town on him. Either way, Elemental's been developing a great ground game and a name for himself as well. A former North Carolina champion with 11 defenses, his 2010 record is 3 wins and 3 losses. James Redding: After being put up to stupid gimmicks for years in MAW (after joining in May of 2006), James Redding took on his real name and dismissed the Flemmy Lemming moniker. His current 2010 record is 1 win and 4 losses. Mainstream Hernandez: Mainstream's been with the MAW since the beginning. He's been a the fan favorite and the hated villain. He's captured the former Mid Atlantic Tag Team Titles. If the MAW's had someone on their roster, Hernandez has taken him on. His 2010 record, unfortunately, is zero wins and 5 losses. Phillip Paris: Signed by MAW immediately after his professional debut in February 2006, 22 year old Phillip Paris is a fearsome brawler who knows how to work the mic. If he's not in the ring, he's usually found on the commentary team. His MAW record for 2010 is 2 wins and 4 losses. LOWER MIDCARD Benito Campos: A kind counterpart to Paris, it almost seems, Campos is an introverted and good-natured Mexican native who enjoys training his brawling skills and, strangely, getting on the mic. While the language barrier has held him back to an extent, Benito is on his way to learning English. His record in MAW for 2010 is zero wins and 3 losses. Joey 'The Breeze' Beauchamp: He's cool, he's the breeze! Just ask him, he'll tell you all about it. More often found calling matches than wrestling despite his brilliant high-flying skills, Beauchamp has had only one match in 2010. Rumors say that he may go on strike if he doesn't see in-ring action more often. His 2010 record is zero wins and 1 loss. Thomas Lithos: Twenty-five year old Thomas Lithos is far more skilled than his card position reveals; nobody's quite sure what's preventing him from rising up, though some speculate that he enjoys stiffing newcomers. Lithos' 2010 record is 2 wins and 3 losses. OPENER Jeff Nova: Despite his incredible talents for a good brawl, Nova hasn't managed to break out of the undercard since joining in March of 2009. Rumors are that he's due for a good push soon, however. Nova's 2010 record is zero wins, 5 losses. Phenomenal E.: Seemingly suffering from the same ailment as Nova, Phenomenal E. hasn't really gone anywhere in MAW since joining in January of 2007. He's mostly been used to teach other workers how to fly. His 2010 MAW record stands at zero wins and 2 losses. ENHANCEMENT TALENT Cal Sanders: An MAW mainstay having joined in July of 2008, Cal Sanders' main purpose on the roster has been to solidify the basics of up and coming stars. At 29 years of age, though, there's plenty of time left in his career to start making his way up the ranks. Cal's 2010 ranking stands at zero wins, 2 losses. Elizabeth Hall: Despite having an active role as the manager of Steve Flash, Hall demands a spot on the competitive roster. Best known as MAW's t-shirt girl, Hall has a mean streak of her own and it seems to have rubbed off on Steve Flash. ANNOUNCING TEAM Rip Chord: This man has seriously done it all. And then he founded MAW. He once had a more active position as an authority figure, but was phased out as his presence became less needed. Also works as a road agent behind the scenes. Stephen Ward: Ward is basically an MAW fanboy. He kept writing to us asking if he could be Westybrook's manager, insisting that having a huge Westybrook fan in this position would be beneficial for everyone. I admit that myself and Rip were skeptical, but man... this kid can talk.

Tri-State Invasion (Week 4 - Thursday - March 2010) MAW Tri-State Invasion Tri-State, The Ministry Attendance of 1,000 Week 4 - Thursday - March 2010 ["East Side Beat" by The Toasters blares over the PA System of the Tri-State area's favorite Church-turned-venue, The Ministry. Just great. Phillip Paris: FRANKLIN!!!!! Listen up, Chumptastico. Mista HAS-BEEN. In just a few minutes now, you're goin' t'be steppin' to the man, the iac... hahaha... the MANIAC, Phillip freakin' Paris! I promise, Franklin, that I'm not gonna make this easy on you. [Paris takes a second to breathe, holding the mic away from his red face.] Phillip Paris: No matter which-a-way I put you out, P-Pup, there's one thing for sure. Tonight, I'm-a put PARIS! ON! THE! MAP!! [Frankie Perez begins walking down the ramp, his eyes narrowed in determination.] VS Summary: The match begins with Paris taking immediate advantage of Frankie's position as he slides into the ring; Perez is met with a flurry of wild stomps and double axe handles. Frankie manages to move from the turnbuckle before falling victim to a massive clothesline, turning things around to his favor and eventually ending the match via Submission after applying the P-Clutch. Winner: Frankie Perez [After the ring is cleared, we go backstage to see Mainstream Hernandez with a mic in his hand.] Mainstream Hernandez: Hey, Flash? Dude, are you ready to go up against the MAW's one and only COMPLETE FREAK? I sure hope so, bud, 'cause I know at least eight-hundred of the butts in those seats out there belong to my adoring female fans, and I know they want to see as much of Mainstream as they can! Let's give 'em their money's worth tonight, Steve-o. VS (for the North Carolina Championship) Summary: The match is well-paced and incredibly even, both Hernandez and Flash giving it their all. Mainstream makes a fatal mistake after downing Flash, appealing to the audience and the such. As Mainstream turns back around, Flash catches him off guard and ends the match via Pinfall after nailing him with the Flash Bang. Winner: Steve Flash Mr. Chord: That was one Hell of a match, wasn't it kid? Stephen Ward: It sure was, Rip. A lot of back-and-forth action between Hernandez and that traitorous scumbag. Mr. Chord: Oh, come on. Steve ain't so bad. But! Word has it that we've got some mess going on backstage, kid. Let's give it a look! [Backstage, Eddie Chandler and Wolf Hawkins are engaged in a staredown. Hawkins holds the East Coast Championship over his shoulder and bears a smug look as Eddie tries to restrain himself. As Chandler goes to talk, Hawkins shoves him back with both hands. Before Chandler can swing at him, a swarm of other workers pull the two apart.] Stephen Ward: Damn, Rip. It looks like our main event is already lighting a fire under these two! VS (submission match) Summary: Not surprisingly, midcarder James Redding manages to hold his own against the incredibly skilled and talented Bryan Holmes as the match's stipulation puts the match in his home field. However, Holmes is no stranger to the mat game and, after a long battle, ends the match via Submission after executing the Canadian Kiss and following with a Dragon Clutch. Winner: Bryan Holmes Stephen Ward: Pff. Well, that was a no-brainer. Holmes can't be stopped! Mr. Chord: This is why you're just the commentator, kid. Redding is the future... just mark my words, a'right? Stephen Ward: Blah, blah, bla... oh. Don't look now, Rip, but your favorite girl is in the ring! [Elizabeth Hall is in the ring, tossing t-shirts into various corners of the venue to the whistles and cheers from the male members of the audience.] [Minnesota is in his locker room, tying his shoes and preparing for his upcoming match against Mario Heroic. A knock is heard on the other side of his locker room door.] Joey Minnesota: ...yeah? [Silence.] Joey Minnesota: Who is it? ???: It's Mr. Chandler, good sir. Joey Minnesota: You can come in, alright? [Chandler slowly opens the door, careful not to make any noise. He does the same upon closing the door, cautious as not to slam it.] Joey Minnesota: Don't mean to be rude, but I'm going to be late for my match. Eddie Chandler: Oh, well. I don't mean to intrude, good friend. I did, however, want to give you my best wishes tonight. Though I don't believe you'll be requiring any such thing. [Minnesota stares at Chandler in bewilderment.] Eddie Chandler: How shall I put it... [Chandler places his hands squarely on Joey's shoulders, looking at him.] Eddie Chandler: You, sir, will surely kick some ass tonight. [Joey smirks and Chandler takes a step back.] Joey Minnesota: Well. Thanks, man. Just when I was feeling unsure about this thing tonight. You're a real champ. [Minnesota gives Chandler a thumbs up and leaves his locker room.] VS Summary: The two spend the first minute or so circling each other before Heroic finally moves in, but Minnesota either counters his offense or shrugs it off. Heroic manages to slip out of Joey's moves for the most part. Heroic becomes increasingly frustrated and eventually floors Minnesota with a surprise dropkick before locking on the Act of Heroism, a triangle choke. The ref, Dewey Libertine, begins counting to five as Minnesota's hand arm is draped over the ropes. Mario, however, refuses to let go, ending the match via DQ. Winner: Joey Minnesota Mr. Chord: I tell ya, kid, Joey don't look like the winner! Stephen Ward: That's just not right.. oh, wait! Looks like Heroic's being a sore loser about all of this! [Heroic pulls the battered Joey Minnesota to his feet before nailing him with an inverted neckbreaker and locking the Act of Heroism back on! The fans boo and jeer the audacious acts of Heroic, but suddenly begin cheering as Eddie Chandler runs to the ring with a folding chair, chasing Mario Heroic off. Chandler and Minnesota shake hands before Eddie sets the chair up and sits down, waiting for his opponent and tonight's Main Event.] VS (non-title match) Summary: The beginning of this match looks much like the start of the last, both competitors circling and measuring the other up for the first minute or so. Eventually Hawkins charges at Chandler only to be met with a drop toe hold. The match continues in a similar fashion, both men being incredibly cautious and trading counters. The match creeps closer to the MAW's traditional 30-minute time limit, the crowd becoming more and more anxious as the match continues. At the twenty-four minute mark, all Hell breaks loose and both men go at each other full steam. Hawkins literally takes Chandler apart, targeting the head in anticipation of his trademark running enzuigiri kick, the Full Moon Rising. Chandler slowly makes his way up to his feet, and we see Hawkins charge across the ring. The crowd gasps as Chandler ducks the enzuigiri attempt, landing Hawkins flat on his face. Eddie takes the opportunity at twenty-nine minutes and thirty seconds to lock Hawkins into the Fabulous Stretch, a double armbar, in the middle of the ring. Hawkins struggles to break it, but can't. The crowd begins counting down from twenty as Hawkins winces in pain in the middle of the ring, Chandler screaming in an adrenaline-fueled rage. Libertine goes to check on Hawkins. FOURTEEN. THIRTEEN. TWELVE. ELEVEN. Hawkins won't tap. TEN. NINE. EIGHT. Eight more seconds, Wolf. Can you make it? SEVEN. Give up? SIX. FIVE. ...and the bell rings as Hawkins nods to Dewey Libertine, ending the match via Submission at 29:55 after Eddie Chandler applies the Fabulous Stretch. Winner: Eddie Chandler Mr. Chord: OH! MY! GOODNESS! Stephen Ward: Holy...!! Chandler just made Hawkins tap with five seconds left!! [Chandler falls to the side, releasing the hold and lying face-up on the mat. His arms are raised in victory, and... are those... tears?] Mr. Chord: Ladies and gentlemen, Eddie Chandler is now the MAW East Coast Championship's NUMBER! ONE! CONTENDER!! [However, it's not too long before Hawkins stumbles to his feet with the aid of the ropes. Hearing the crowd cheer, he knows exactly what's happened. He slides out of the ring, slipping under Chandler's radar as Eddie's so wrapped up in the joy of victory.] Stephen Ward: He's going for the chair Eddie brought in...! [Suddenly, the crowd bursts into cheers as Joey Minnesota runs down to ringside, catching Chandler's attention. Hawkins climbs onto the apron with the chair in one hand, but gets caught but Minnesota before he can get into the ring.] Stephen Ward: And here comes the cavalry! [Hawkins looks over his shoulder while holding the chair in front of him and, much to his surprise, sees Minnesota keeping him from getting into the ring. Chandler musters up a final burst of energy and charges, driving the chair into Hawkins' face with a running enzuigiri.] Mr. Chord, Stephen Ward: FULL MOON RISING!! [Wolf drops like a fly to the outside, Chandler falling to his knees and panting as Minnesota walks to him and pats him on the back.] Mr. Chord: All Hell's broken loose tonight, folks! After seeing what we saw here, we can say for sure... everything has changed in MAW. We will see you in two weeks, Tri-State fans!
